To continue the support for everyone 40 and over who is or wants ttc. Lots of hand-holding and understanding, we're all together in the uphill struggle.

How are things today, Kiwi?

LastMinute, can you hold off to test until your actual due date? It would case me more stress to be testing early, I think.

notsoold · 21/10/2014 09:22

kiwi how are you??? Did things settle??? I know it is not mumsnet talk but I thought of you all night and do hope everything is ok...

Gumblossom · 20/10/2014 22:53

Kiwi - I am sorry to hear you are having this worry. Can you have an ultrasound? I can understand your worry, but many, many women have bleeding in pregnancy which turns out to be nothing. I hope you'll have answers soon.

LastMinuteMother · 20/10/2014 21:14

In my TWW and 3 days off my expected period. I've been feeling nauseous on and off but did a 'First Response' test a couple of days ago and it was negative.
Really don't know what to think. I know i only have to wait a few days now but i'm soooo impatient!!!

10000Fireflies · 20/10/2014 19:58

Kiwi keeping everything crossed for you. More unMumsnetty hugs.

NewEraNewMindset · 20/10/2014 16:49

kiwibabe · 20/10/2014 16:37

AWombWithoutAFoof · 20/10/2014 16:04

Everything crossed for you Kiwi. I had bleeding during my pregnancy and it was fine. Can you get into the EPU?

cloudjumper · 20/10/2014 15:23

kiwi Deep breaths. Is it brown or red blood? Please try not to panic. Can you speak to your midwife and/or the EPU? There is still a big chance that everything is fine!

OP posts:
NewEraNewMindset · 20/10/2014 14:49

kiwibabe · 20/10/2014 14:23

Need support ladies just been to loo and small amount blood, 14 weeks exactly how my mc started

Gumblossom · 20/10/2014 00:26

I'm crossing everything for you too Smile

I don't have a single opk in the house, and yesterday, in the supermarket I stopped for a second at the First Response conception kit, then I kept walking...It's like an alcoholic walking past a bottle of gin when there's none in the house. So perhaps I am on the way to beating my addiction! Or least coming to a point where it will not be my biggest concern.

This month I am taking a cruisey approach. If the mood takes us, then so be it, but no special timing etc.

I am very busy trying to fit in 4 -6 hours of exercise per week (which will be interesting given I have a sore shoulder). I've joined a program to improve fitness and health, so we shall see. Perhaps it will keep my mind occupied, and I'll think less about the Precious Last Baby I wanted so much.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Good to hear from you Jass. Thanks I am glad you are back to ovulating.

NewEraNewMindset · 19/10/2014 22:29

Hey Grizz, well got my first pos opk last night so I think I ovulated today. Hopefully my temps will confirm that tomorrow.

We have shagged like rabbits the last four days, twice today! So OH now has a couple of weeks off whilst I symptom spot madly Wink. First acupuncture treatment on Wednesday and blood test on Friday. God I hope I get a BFP, I feel like we deserve it but I know it doesn't work that way.

Fingers crossed for us both xxx

Grizzer · 19/10/2014 20:45

Any news on ov newera? I think I ovulated day 13 which is slightly earlier than normal. I'm not sure if that's bad or not.... Managed to dtd quite regularly though so I'm pleased. Would have liked to try again today but dh has asked for a rest! These men pretend they're up for it all the time but really have no stamina!! Lol.
I'm having acupuncture on Tuesday which is probably a bit late as ov has passed but will try anything. Going to book an extra session around implantation time which I've never done before. Really throwing everything I can at it this month.

NewEraNewMindset · 18/10/2014 10:25

So cd11 and no sign of OV. Opks have a slight line but wasn't showing a positive yesterday. Fertility monitor hasn't put me in my fertile window either so right now I'm hoping it's not going to be anovolatory.

Though saying that it's a good month if it is as I'm having my day 3/21 test done and I'll probably get referred. Fingers crossed I'll get my temp rise tomorrow or Monday.

Grizzer · 17/10/2014 19:54

This is my last month of really trying Jass. I'm going to go for it for longer than normal after ov too. Think we normally stop too early. It's a hard decision though & you are still in the very early days after mc so maybe a more relaxed approach for a few months is what you need rather than stopping completely. I don't think I can do the relaxed approach though - it's all I ever think about!

Grizzer · 17/10/2014 19:49

I have used the iPad method at times too newera god only knows what she watches but she wants to be a big sister so she has to play her part!! I'm going out for birthday drinks tonight though so might ruin all my hard work with booze. I need it after the crazy week at work I've had. Or maybe I'll come home & be in the mood for a drunken shag - twice in one night! Job done x

jassS · 17/10/2014 18:52

Seems my break from ttc is over in this sense that I OV first time after mc. Husband is in Spain though, so no stress this cycle yet:-) I need to get my mind around this bend and start to retry or give up totally. Or maybe half-hearted thing is the best, so I may be kind of ttcing, not really putting the effort in:-)

NewEraNewMindset · 17/10/2014 17:19

Ha ha Grizzer. If we need to get a quickie in before my sons bedtime we put him in his room, stairgate closed, with the iPad and that gives us around 30 mins silence Grin

Looks like we will be cycle buddies. OV for me should be either Sat or Sun.

Grizzer · 17/10/2014 17:08

I have rushed home from work & am now waiting for dh to come home so we can dtd before picking dd up from after school club. How terrible is that? He's taking ages to get home too but I can definitely feel my ovaries beckoning...... Totally my month (again) Wink

Gumblossom · 15/10/2014 23:48

Hi everyone.

Cloud, I can understand the desire to take a break. It's taxing to think about ttc all the time, no matter how hard we try to make it something in the back of our mind.It is always there, we take supplements, we use opk's, some of us track our cycles. To me, I feel better doing it all because it feels like I am somehow in "control" (we all know that's not true, however I like to think it). But it does mean it is always there hanging around like a little grey cloud.

Like newera, I wish it could just happen without too much effort on my part. Sigh...I remember those years, when I was young, stressing and the sheer relief when AF turned up because I didn't want to be pregnant. Sad

So AF did turn up for me, this morning. I knew it would, as much as I would have liked a surprise bfp, I just didn't feel pregnant, and I have been pregnant 10 times, so I am familiar with the symptoms (though I'm still foolish enough to recognise symptoms, when in fact I am not pregnant Hmm)

I have just looked at my chart for forward planning, and it looks like my DH will be away for work in the days leading up to ovulation. So I may be taking a break without choice. It's only about three weeks til my birthday, so I don't think I'll be ttc for much longer. Despite telling myself that I am past it, it is silly to keep ttc, I still haven't come to a place where I am definitely ready to stop. I only want to stop once I have my last baby firmly in my arms.

If nothing else, ttc has been a journey in learning acceptance. For a control freak like me, that's a huge learning curve!

AWombWithoutAFoof · 15/10/2014 14:34

Cloud, I had a heart to heart with DP this week, I feel much better. Because I want a baby more than him, and I'm the one doing OPKs etc, I was starting to feel like I was trying to trick him into having a baby, because we didn't really talk about it.

He was rather taken aback by how stressed I've become about all of it, but things are a lot better now.

NewEraNewMindset · 15/10/2014 14:12

Cloud jumper I have already decided that if I ever get another BFP I'm going to buy Cyclogest pessaries and take them for the first trimester. I have found a reputable company online who I can source them from. I can't stop wondering if it was low progesterone that screwed up my pregnancy in January. I had a small amount of bleeding that just wouldn't go away completely, it was brown cm on and off and eventually I miscarried. To my mind that's indicative of implantation issues but I know I'm not a doctor!

I think with TTC you can do it in a more half hearted way without having to make a decision to stop. I know lots of people don't want August babies so decide to quit TTC over Christmas to prevent that, but personally I just want to try every cycle I can, August baby or not.

Sounds like you have a lot on so I completely agree about not trying to shag at stupid o'clock just because a test strip says you should. I want to be one if those women who falls pregnant unexpectedly after one drunken shag when the condom split. I hate the 'trying' aspect. It's bullshit.
