I know its waaay early for a November bus to set off but AF arrived today kicking me off the September bus and with DH away next month the October bus is not an option. Anyone fancy joining me in the long wait? I don't expect much action on this thread for a few weeks but it would be nice to have some company. My stats are below:

iamevan, 35, TTC#2, cycle 6, BFP due 7th November

It does take a lot of the fun out of dtd doesn't it! Also DH doesn't really like the pressure of performing to demand so we've agreed that we just dtd at least EOD for the week or so I'm likely to ov (based on phone apps and then OPK's). I never actually tell him when my peak ov is until afterwards IYSWIM. So romantic isn't it! Confused.

It's almost a relief when the peak week is over and we can get back to doing it just for fun, and when we actually both really feel like it!

Dozygirl · 12/10/2014 18:54

victoria sounds just like my dp. He'd rather just go to sleep. I've been on nights this weekend so no chance of dtd but will start back on it this week. Dreading the effort of it all haha. I should be enjoying this part!

victoria401 · 12/10/2014 17:08

Hi girls. Decided not to 'try' October coz of the mixed reviews of whether the xray involved in the hsg test I had could affect the growing egg. Shame as I had tons of ewcm! Kinda regretting not dtd but I'm sure it was for the best. Still need to have af for this month so I'm here til the very end of Nov now.

As for frequency of dtd, dh has no sex drive whatsoever so its no wonder we are not preg yet tbh. I have to initiate every time. He's ok once you get him going but he always moans about being too tired!

Ainat266 · 12/10/2014 17:05

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping I'm going to be on the November bus. I have no idea what's going on with my cycles though. I stopped taking the pill at the end of August, had a long (9 days) but light withdrawal bleed, but nothing since. I'm on CD 42 now with no signs of anything. Hubby and I have been dtd fairly often in the hope something will happen, but OPK's and more recently HPT's are all coming back negative no matter when I take them... What I really want is AF to show up so we can get on with things.

Ainat266, 27, ttc#1, cycle 1, BFP due ???????????

Afternoon ladies

Can't read back properly on phone.

We try and dtd every other day up to ovulation and then every day for a few days from ovulation.

misty lol my dp asked about my epo i explained it in simple terms

Last day of clomid today its giving me a the rage lol poor dp.
I also think it made my af shorter cant complain!

Hope everyone is okay

mistywillow17 · 12/10/2014 14:55

Today is the first day of my clearblue trial - they have asked me to trial their OV tests. A nice digital display is definitely easier than squinting at an internet cheapie!

DH took a sip of my pink grapefruit juice this morning. he is still going on about how "disgusting" it is. He asked why I drink it, and I said it was to help us conceive, but I wasn't mean enough to tell him exactly why - I don't think he needs to know about cervical mucous consistency!

Orangeisthenewbanana · 12/10/2014 12:03

I believe that the egg can only fertilised in the 12-24 hours after it's released. However sperm can live in the woman's body for up to a week in favourable conditions (though I think average is 48-72 hours?). So even aiming for every 72 hours should theoretically be enough for some of them to still be around to fertilise, if his sperm are good quality and decent quantity.

With ttc DD, we just aimed for dtd at least 3 times a week, every week except when AF was around. Have tried OPK's for first time last month and actually found more stressful! Got a surprise positive but the pressure got to DH on that day and think we missed our window Sad.

Also agree with butterfly, dtd immediately prior to ov is probably the ideal scenario!

butterflycats · 12/10/2014 11:26

Upps... Means dtd! Not drs! Auto check on phone!!!

butterflycats · 12/10/2014 11:26

seafoam if you drs Wednesday and ovulated Thursday that's great timing as the swimmers will be there to meet the egg :)

butterflycats · 12/10/2014 11:25

I also have long cycles... 38 days this time, and sure I'm not ovulating anyway. As long as you're dtd 2-3 a week that's all you can really do! My hubby is keeping up fine with every other day!!! Although tend to slacken off towards end of day 33/34!
If nothing happens this month I'll be asking for bloods and possibly trying soy!

MrsGingerbread · 12/10/2014 09:13

I too could do with some healthy eating. :) if your bmi is a bit high then you can get 5mg folic acid from your gp which is recommended.

I am planning a 'get more organised' campaign for the next few weeks which I hope will distract me from ttc a little bit.

I have also bought this really handy pill organiser that I have done for the whole week now - stop me rattling around with so many bottles first thing in the morning! And I really like the funky colours! :)

Seafoam · 12/10/2014 08:53

Ladies, may I ask something?

Prior to ttc I'd say we had sex a few times a month, so obviously not loads. Just as and when we could, but his sex drive has always been higher than mine. In fact he once said his ideal was 3-4 times a week.

I told him to be careful what he wished for!

Ofc I'm aiming for every other day. He's exhausted and says he can't keep up (i can't help but fund a sense of smugness over this admission given his previous requests!) I've been sure to play it cool and keep it interesting as I know how tedious it can get, a mistake we made early on..

The thing is, I only have very rough ideas on when I may ovulate through the month, so if we don't manage ever other day for a week I don't always worry as I'm not feeling like I might be at that time, but during the times I think it's likely obviously I want to make sure I've got a fresh supply waiting for that egg.

But I'm so worried! It's possible I ovulated Thursday, we dtd Wednesday night.. We were both soo tired Thursday so I initiated again Friday- but he couldn't get there, same yesterday. I won't initiate today as it'll build the pressure on him but am aware that we need to do it tomorrow. Equally I may not ovulate for another week so this could all be unnecessary, but I don't know so we have to keep at it.

Anyone else's husband not able to keep it going consistently? I suppose it's alot of work!

Orangeisthenewbanana · 12/10/2014 04:47

I'm trying the same Dozy, putting my energy into something I do have a bit more control over and hoping it distracts me from ttc!

Dozygirl · 12/10/2014 03:10

Sorry to hear that alien. It sucks doesn't it

Fingers crossed seafoam that u get ur BFP soon. I totally get the binging thing especially when ur down. I'd lost weight this year but it's slowly creeping back on for the winter as it usually does. I'm trying to focus on losing weight again rather than focus on symptom spotting and obsessing over ttc. Prob not gonna work but I need to have something to distract me.

Seafoam · 11/10/2014 22:45

Blueberry, if she gets me this cycle I'm going to get straight back up the Dr's. Thank you x

alien11 · 11/10/2014 20:55

Hi all AF got me today -day 35 :( so I'm well onboard the nov bus now!!

xBlueberry88x · 11/10/2014 20:33

Im over weight to seafoam they wanted me to loose weight before clomid but even with exercising everyday and eating healthy i lost inches but no weight.

But i told the doc i couldnt handle waiting any longer im right on the edge of depression all the time!

Seafoam · 11/10/2014 20:03

Just to add, I don't crash diet, I cook from scratch and eat v healthily but the binges are the cause of my weight- I do worry its effecting things though

Seafoam · 11/10/2014 20:00

Hi blueberry.

Basically my bmi is 37 so they won't until I've lost the weight... but as an emotional eater, it's a vicious circle, lose a few lbs.. get another bfn.. binge. Gain. Lose a few lbs. . Bfn.. you get it. I wish I could crack it. It's hurting me almost as much as the bfn.

I do worry that I'm not ovulating. Someone mentioned soy inso, but I'm too scared.

We caught month 1 with Dd- off depo in sept, pill in Oct. . Caught Nov. So this has been a massive shock.

X

xBlueberry88x · 11/10/2014 19:33

Evening ladies,

rosebud lol at trojan sperm fx he is right but i dont blame you feeling a bit daunted!

mrsg my epo are massive to im taking to many tablets now!

Welcome to all the newbies and bus transfers fx for you all!!

seafoam im on cycle 18 because of depo im not ovulating so have been but on clomid. I still have regular 28 day cycles and positive ovulation tests though so we had no idea until had tests.
Can they not put you on metformin (sp) ive read it regulates cycles for people who have long cycles (often used for pcos sufferers)

Dozygirl · 11/10/2014 19:07

sea and orange that sounds tough for u both. Fingers crossed DTD marathons work out for u.

Orangeisthenewbanana · 11/10/2014 18:17

Hello ladies! Jumping on this bus now to grab a seat by the heater! Got kicked off the October bus today when AF arrived 4/5 days earlier than expected. Have always had irregular cycles - seafoam I feel your pain! Sad Lucked out with DD second cycle and fingers crossed, cycles seem to have regulated a bit since her. Last three were 45, 38 and most recently 34 days so heading in the right direction I guess, but still a bugger for predicting ov!

My stats are:
Orangeisthenewbanana, 34, ttc #2, cycle 3, bfp due approx 13th Nov?

Seafoam · 11/10/2014 16:36

Hi guys, may I join you?

Ttc no2, month 14, cycle 4- depo has screwed me.

My cycles are long and irregular and I guess I'm due first month on November so it feels like I've got forever to wait even though I'm already cd 27 right now! I'm expecting a 50 day cycle or thereabouts. It'd be lovely if it were less, but I'm hoping to just get a bfp!

Have no idea when I will ovulate.. ibs invalidates any pain or cramping and I get ewcm sporadically all blooming cycle. Opks don't work. Clear scans and blood tests are find but can't confirm ov because it's like fishing in the dark for the right day to take them. So its just a lot of sex (Oh my word, I'm exhausted!) Heartbreak and hope.

Is there a window seat for me? I'm gonna need a distraction to cope with the next few weeks!

Pixie1985 · 10/10/2014 20:00

Hi ladies!

I'm new, can I hop on?

I was on the buses about a year ago but had to stop ttc due to illness, all better now though so fx for a speedy bfp as it's been a long wait!!

My stats are:

Pixie1985 29, ttc #1 cycle 2 (this time, in total about 15 lol!)

MrsGingerbread · 10/10/2014 19:48

Dozy seven seas ones from Boots. They are epo and starflower oil apparently. :)
