Does anyone have any insite on this??? I am only 4 weeks preg but already I am having pain and spotting. This is my third preg and the past two were mc. I have a very bad feeling about this already. I went to the docs today and basically its a waiting game. I am booked for a scan on the 26th of April but I dont know what to do until then. I feel so depressed because I think its inevidable that this one is going to end up the same as the others...all of the symptoms are the same. Pain in the left ovary (sharp) and slight brown spotting yesterday...and today there was a little red. I just dont know what to think or do...

melliek · 20/04/2004 17:07

OMG................... you will never believe this!! I just came back from the emerg department for my 6 week ultrasound and I cannot believe it!!!!! There is a heart beat and its good and strong! I am just stunned because I thought for sure that this one was lost. It's so funny because I have been feeling so sick 24/7 and tired but I thought that it was just the hormones that were left in my sytem. Thank you God! I am elated but scared at the same time. My first m/c was at 9 weeks so once I get there I will ask for another scan to make sure.
Thank you everyone soooo much for all of your kind words and suport. I really dont think I would get by if it wasn't for your help. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that I will make it through and my little peanut will keep a good strong heart beat!!!

bluestar · 17/04/2004 17:33

melliek, really really sorry that you are going through this experience again. I'm sure there is not much to comfort you right now but there are many people here thinking of you.

Quackers · 17/04/2004 13:34

Melliek, so sorry {{{{{}}}}. Have a read of the Lesley Regan book if you haven;t already. It is surprisingly reassuring and gives lots of advice on possible reasons, if anything. Hope you get referred to a recurrent clinic near you and they can start off this for you now. xxxxxx

musica · 16/04/2004 22:02

melliek I'm so sorry this is happening to you. (((hug)))

gingernut · 16/04/2004 21:46

Dear melliek, I'm really sorry things are looking so bleak. I hope you at least get a definite answer soon, and also that you'll be able to find out if there's a reason for your m/cs. Thinking of you xx.

hana · 16/04/2004 18:25

so so sorry Melliek. It's utterly unfair and especially so for you after 2 previous m/c. I hope you're getting lots of love and support from your friends and family. When you are ready I would ask for some investigations to be done, there is a lot that can be looked at.....when you're ready there are good (old) threads on recurrent miscarriage clinics here on the site.
(that's what they're called in the UK, not sure about Canada) and lots of informative positve and helpful books too on this subject too.
Lots of hugs, thinking of you at this really sad time,
hana

Helsbels · 16/04/2004 08:38

Melliek
there is nothing anyone can say to comfort you at the moment and no-one can know how you are feeling. Obviously, on this site there are a lot of people who can empathise with you and there are a lot of stories to help you be strong. All I can say is that when it is right, it will be alright and there are always reasons - though often they are unreasonable and impossible to understand. Be kind to yourself, sweetheart and keep believing hugs to you x x

bunny2 · 16/04/2004 08:21

Melliek, I am so sorry. Be kind to yourself and take time to come to terms with this. It is so unfair, you just dont deserve this. When you are ready, please demand more tests. Now you have had 3 miscarriages you should get some medical intervention. you may have aproblem that is easily solved. Hugs Bunnyxxx

emmatmg · 16/04/2004 07:04

Melliek, I really don't know what to say......... I'm so sorry.
Do you really have to go into work today? I'm sure they would understand.
Oh, I'm so so sorry.

LOts' of love and cyber hugs to you and your DH.

fairyfly · 16/04/2004 01:40

So sorry, i never post on threads like this, but i just wanted to say how horrid for you, and i wish you a lot of luck, it really isn't fair. x

melliek · 16/04/2004 01:30

Thanks for the support ladies, but....last night I passed more tissue. This time it was of substance, not just thin pieces. The color was almost flesh toned and it reminded me of a small piece of wet bread (sorry ...gross I know). All in all i passed what seemed to be about 1/2 inch long and thick. The scan tech told me that if I had passed the embryo thats pretty much what it would look like, soooo. I think its over. Tomorrow after work i'm going to go to emerg and get another Hcg test done just to confirm it. After they give me the go-ahead I will get a D&C to get it finallized so I can move on. Is it always going to be like this? Such a roller coaster ride? I mean lots of women have mc's but not three in a row with no children at all. It makes me wonder if there is something genetically wrong....My cervix is fine, I had them check that last time, he said it is normal so its not that....for some reason or another God has a test in mind for me but I just dont know!

Melliek, this uncertainty is awful. I know when I lost my second they were looking for a foetal pole at 6 weeks and there wasn't one. At 5 weeks they expect to see a sac and yolk, just as they saw and nothing more just yet. It is a plus that your bloods are increasing, but they did them too close together as you know! Hang in there, hoping everything might turn out positive, you just never know. Also, if there is an intact pgcy sac, then you have not been passing tissue. xxxxx

bluestar · 14/04/2004 20:26

melliek, hope everything works out for you, keeping my fingers crossed x

littlemissbossy · 14/04/2004 15:30

Hi melliek, just read this thread. I will keep my fingers crossed for you for next week. Make sure you rest/put your feet up!
Take care

hana · 14/04/2004 15:26

this all sounds hopeful melliek - taking things 1 day at a time is incredibly hard though.
Where abouts in NB are you?
hana

Mirage · 13/04/2004 21:15

Hi Melliek

I'm sorry you are going through this. The uncertainity is awful.I just wanted to say thatyour HCG'S sound good.If I remember correctly, the levels should double in 48 hours, not 24,so don't worry,it sounds as though they are going in the right direction.Plus it is rare to see a heartbeat before 6-7 wks.

I had 2 episodes of horrendous bleeding with DD & was convinced it was the end, especially as I'd previously had an ectopic pregnancy. But by some miracle, she hung on & was born fit & well.

I will keep everything crossed for you & your little one.

melliek · 13/04/2004 20:55

Hey all...I made a mistake! My Hcg level was 923....sorry. So I just got the results back from my other test. Now, keep in mind that yesterdays was done at 3:30 and todays was done at 12:30, so not even a full 24hrs and its gone to 1100. Now i know that it hasn't doubled but if there was no fetus growing at all wouldn't it start to drop by now? I am thinking if there was no fetal pole , basically nothing there, then it would be low. I am confused, there is too much to go by.

Sounds like good news to me melliek. I can't wait to hear how you get on at your next scan, fingers crossed that it goes well. It is early pregnancy so it is normal for them to only see the sac, my own pregnancy dates were wrong and the scan had to be repeated, it all turned out well for me, DD is now 5.

eyelash · 13/04/2004 18:18

I meant they weren't concerned there wasn't a foetal pole visible!
