Wharm14 · 13/09/2014 07:00

Morning ladies! Despite it being Saturday and no reason to get up I was wide awake at 6am so got up and POAS and got my strong BFP!!!!!!!!

I really believe it now - I just went and jumped all over DH who was still asleep, he's thrilled also - but gone back to sleep now! Grin

Fingers crossed for all the other ladies on here, hope the AF stays away for you all Smile

Now I have to figure out what to do today as we don't want to tell anyone yet but not sure I'm going to be able to keep a grin off my face all day!

Another 2ww thread!!!!!
ScaryMartian · 13/09/2014 06:47

Wow, just popped on to see if there is any news as now away and have the sloooooooowest wifi...

Massive congrats wharm! That is a beautiful line picture!

I'm 8dpo now, the urge to POAS is strangely minimal, distraction is the key (and also no tests to hand helps too). Last month I started spotting at 9dpo so we'll see what happens in the next couple of days.

Fx crossed for those who AF hasn't got yet- there is still time for that bfp.
Candy- I knew you'd cave Smile maybe give it at least till tomorrow to test again?

Bobian- onwards and upwards!

otter32 · 12/09/2014 20:26

I echo costa wishing a healthy and happy 9 months for wharm

I use a bbt thermometer I got off amazon. Had good reviews. However, it beeps. Not good as it disturbs the husband! The backlight is good though. It's to 2 decimal places too. Just needs to be quiet! I think they're all much of a muchness.

I tell you what, if I feel this nauseous for no reason I'll be peeved! Won't test again til next weekend now if af doesn't get me first!

Wharm14 · 12/09/2014 20:13

costa I got mine off ebay for a couple of quid! you need a basal body thermometer! which is accurate to two decimal places. You can get such subtle variances that the two decimal places is really helpful. Amazon have an abundance of them too.
Thanks for the good wishes, not sure I believe it yet, going to test for another couple of days, got an app with the nurse on Monday about something else so I'll ask for a blood test if I haven't had a strong line by then.

CostaLotta · 12/09/2014 19:22

Wharm congratulations!!!!! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months Smile

Otter fingers crossed for you. It's still early days yet.

I'm still waiting for AF, did a couple of tests today and BFN. I reckon I'm 15/16 dpo now.

Those of you who chart temp, what thermometer do you use? I have a digital ear thermometer for DS will that be ok?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 12/09/2014 16:58

I obviously meant i will be holding out until Sunday!!!

OP posts:
MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 12/09/2014 16:57

Candy my original plan was to wait until Sunday as my last pg I tested positive at 8dpo and i will be 8dpo on Sunday. But i feel really ill, like really poorly and I don't think it's linked to that bug i had. I have loads of internet cheapies so don't mind using them. I save my FRERs for when if i get a positive. Then i crack open the digis to make doubly sure!!

So I will try and hold out until tomorrow depending on what my temp does in the morning. Have had a massive dip yesterday and then a huge temp spike this morning higher than all other temps. When I conceived in 2012 I also had a temp dip at 5dpo so crossing everything that this is a similar situation.

Otter 11 and 12dpo are still pretty early. Some women do not get a positive until AF is late. Hope the cramps are not AF related for you!!

CandyPop · 12/09/2014 16:44

mooley haha 2??!!?!

How long do you think you can resist before another ?! I'm gonna try wait to Sunday .....

otter32 · 12/09/2014 11:13

Going off fertility friend I'm 11dpo. Going off CBAFM I'm 12dpo. Cramps are starting to feel more af like now though, so not holding out much hope.

Think I'm going to leave the sticks now til I'm overdue af if that happens!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 12/09/2014 11:09

WOOOOOHOOOO!! Yey Wharm fab news I knew those high temps meant pg!! Well done and congrats! And yup that's definitely a line and a good ones as well!

rainy, otter and candy sorry for the BFNs. otter and rainy what dpo are you?

candy you're not on your own testing too early! I'm only 6dpo and cracked 1 2 open this morning. Obviously BFN but what was I expecting!

Back.......away.......from......the.......sticks! Grin

Make sure you keep us updated!

Wharm14 · 12/09/2014 09:13

18 dpo today, I think I ovulated on CD19. If it is a line, that would make my due date around 15th may 2015

otter32 · 12/09/2014 09:10

That looks like a line to me!! How many dpo are you again?

Here's a link to the book I mentioned, far more informative than any of my school biology lessons!

Wharm14 · 12/09/2014 09:07

Thanks for all the congratulations, I'm a bit overwhelmed TBH! As promised, here is a picture, let me know what you guys think, can you see a line?
We've been TTC #1 since we got maried last December with no luck, this month I used the fertility awareness method, charted temps, checked CM and cervix and used OPK sticks as a back up! I was on holiday over my most fertile week so we did the deed every other day and twice the day I ovulated! Didn't think it would work though, so I'm in shock I think. My SIL leant me the book on FAM to read after it helped her and my brother, that really helped me become more aware of what my body was doing, I'd definitely recommend it. Even if it hasn't worked this time, being more aware of what your body is doing is really helpful.
Sorry to hear about the BFN's this morning, baby dust to you all!

Another 2ww thread!!!!!
RainyLion · 12/09/2014 08:39

Great news Wharm!
I tested again this morn and still a BFN.
MishMosh I guess we just have to keep telling ourselves that AF is still not here. I'd like to hold out and test again tomorrow morning but I can see myself going another this afternoon! Hopefully having DP around this weekend will distract me from peeing!
Sorry to hear that AF had claimed its latest victim (why do I feel like I'm in the hunger games?!!)

Anyone got any experience of a D&C? Know if it's normal to have longer cycles after?
