Well that's it. After 13 years of being on the pill I am now not. For various reasons I didn't come off a few months ago to allow my cycle to get back to "normal" (who knows what that is when I was on the pill twice as long as I had periods naturally) so I have no idea how long it'll take me to ovulate. Anyone else in the same boat? Having spent my whole adult life assuming I'd get pregnant just by looking at a boy without BC I am now realising it might actually take months or even years to conceive. Plus I'm not talking about this with friends; they either got pregnant vv quickly or are no where near that stage. So, would be great to hear from a few of you in the same boat...

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind if I join...I'm new to TTC too and could do with some support!

I'm embarrassed to admit it but I'm obsessed with any slight symptom that might equal pregnancy, no matter how hard I try not to be, which leads to me POAS (lots) and getting a BFN so far ??

I can relate to your situation Fayexoxo92 because my period is late too but still no positive test...aaaargh it's driving me crazy!!

I suppose I've never really scrutinised my cycle before so maybe my cycle length is irregular rather than a late period? Oh well, it's not over this month until I get my period so,fingers crossed! Xxx

Hello,

I am new to this website. We are TTC first baby. It has only been a few months yet I am irrationally sad and worried it won't happen. Does anyone else feel like this?

Also, I have ready so many articles which have left me feeling I left it too late (I am 32). Is anyone else in the same situation?

I thought it would be a good idea to talk to people going through the same thing so I don't worry my husband too much.

Shellbell0403 · 04/01/2015 09:39

Happy new year everyone!! Hope this is our year! Xxx

We're trying to conceive #1. Both DH and I are 34, married in March. I cut my last pill pack short by 3 days in August and am currently on cycle 4.

I was on microgynon from 18 to 26 then brevinor from 26 to 34. Cycle 2 I was upto CD34, with BFN tests. I was terrified I wasn't ovulating, so have been using OPKs for cycle 3 and 4. I was disheartened with single lines for days, and the 1st positive OPK felt like a BFP!

I OVed CD16 in C3, and CD17 in C4 - so everything seems regular enough!

I'm C4/CD27, 10 DPO today. I've had cramps on and off, and sore boobs (same as last month 34dd and REALLY dislike sleeping in a bra, but needs must at the moment). After feeling so sad with the BFN's last month, I'm not testing until the day I'm due (NYE). Last month I was a day earlier than the ap I use predicted, so may not even have to bother.

Good luck to all x

Mind if I join? :)
Newly married, 24, not actively TTC but came off everything because of endometriosis, in August... Had an initial bleed beginning of September, then a 35 day cycle, followed by a 52 day cycle where they thought I had an ectopic... Now on cycle day 32 and nothing. Super bloated, waves of nauseous that are only, momentarily solved by food, my boobs are SO veiny and heavy and mega sore (never have this prior to AF)... I'm had 2 naps today, after an 11 hour sleep last night... I've done one test today which was BFN... But previously only test BFP at 8 weeks pregnant...
The idea only came to me when my friend mentioned my symptoms and said that was exactly what I was like the first time round!?
Help!!

gossipgirl81 · 27/12/2014 22:03

Hi, just wanted to join the thread as this is exactly what I am going through right now as well.
I'm 34 and my bf is 39, I came off the pill in March this year, but the boyfriend wasn't ready for a baby then so from March to October, he has been 'pulling out' sorry if tmi!
I was secretly hoping that I would still get pregnant but I obvs didn't. Now though he is definitely ready and November was our first month properly trying, but AF came on Boxing Day :(
I invested in the Clearblue ovulation test that gives you 4 fertile days so going to use that each month.
I get very regular periods but I just worry that there may be some issue with my bf's sperm and that's why it hasn't happened yet.
Trying not to become a crazy, obsessive lunatic but it's hard to try and remain calm and patient!!

SockQueen · 24/12/2014 22:44

Congratulations mrsdos!

Currently CD 27, but the last one was only 24 days so who knows where we are really? No obvious symptoms. I think my SiL may be upduffed though - we are staying together at PiLs' and she isn't drinking and seems to be steering clear of the blue cheese too...

Merry Christmas to you all and best of luck to all those dealing with uncertainty at the moment!

Porchrules · 23/12/2014 21:58

I'm currently on cd34 She'll and have had a different length each month since stopping the pill in July so totally feel your frustration! Booked a docs appnt for next wk just to have a chat - what tests did you have?? Don't worry Serenity - I always get twingey pains when ov'ing - think its a good sign as something's happening! Fx for January for us all! Thanks mrsdos for your wishes! Xx

Serenity05 · 21/12/2014 15:27

Wow, congratulations mrsdos! That's so wonderful!

I'm in my 2ww wait now - I ovulated this past week and boy did it make itself known! Horrendously sore nipples, constipation, and a twinge of ovulation pain for an hour or so on Tuesday (CD16). It was uncomfortable but considering I was worried it wouldn't happen at all, I'm not going to complain. However I have read conflicting reports on whether ovulation pain is normal or a sign that something could be wrong... anyone have any experience with that?

Shellbell0403 · 19/12/2014 21:20

Congrats Mrsdos! Just make sure ur Other half gets U the drinks and make sure they get put in a wine glass etc ??
Porch I was 35 days since aug but last one was 42 days ?? not sure exact time I'm ovulating either so will defo need to get some tests and check!! Scared! Haha!! I'm taking all the vitamins etc but from jan onwards dieting and joining a gym to see if that will help to! Got tested at docs but came back negative but think they tested at wrong time!
Hope AF stays away! Xx

mrsdos · 19/12/2014 20:35

Thanks Porch, I am so excited, but terrified at the same time. I bought a load of cheap tests from amazon, £2.50 or something for 15 or so.. they are extra early tests too and quick postage. No idea how to keep it a secret over Christmas and New year! Fx for you both in January xx

Porchrules · 19/12/2014 20:16

Need to invest in some cheaper tests that's for sure - it's getting expensive!! Think I'm getting some twinges in my lower back so prob a sign that the witch is coming...! But I'd rather she turn up and we get onto the next month than sit around waiting! Huff! Are you nice and regular shell? X

Shellbell0403 · 19/12/2014 13:56

Ahh thanks ?? fx ur right porch! What you going to do? Think I would be the same as you! Lots of tests haha! Xx

Porchrules · 19/12/2014 12:25

With you I think Shell - fx jam will be the month! Smile

Porchrules · 19/12/2014 11:36

Oh mrsdos that is amazing!! Congratulations and Flowers to you!! I've had two bfns so far and no symptoms so not hopeful for this month. Wondering about soy for next month and have booked a drs appnt too... Have fun telling your DH!! Xx

Shellbell0403 · 19/12/2014 10:15

Fingers crossed ladies ?? I'm on my next month ?? xx

mrsdos · 19/12/2014 10:10

Hi Porch. Fx that af stays away!Smile Still havent had a visit myself, but had lots of symptoms so bought some internet cheapies and a bfp on wednesday! Have done a cb early test as well which was positive, havent even told dh yet as still dont quite believe it!

Porchrules · 19/12/2014 09:37

Hi mrsdos - how are you getting along? I came off bc in June and after my withdrawal bleed (August 13) didn't see af for a full two months (oct 13 - oddly exactly two months!). Am now 1 day late on last months dates and absolutely no symptoms whatsoever... Sad very frustrating to not be regular! Hang in there - they should settle down eventually.

mrsdos · 16/12/2014 13:28

Hello Ladies,
Hope you are all well. Looking for some advice?! As previously posted I think I ov'd earlier in the month, since then I have had a few suspect 'symptoms' but as AF has not appeared since I stopped bc in october I'm really not sure whether I am clutching at straws?!

Joey0805 · 14/12/2014 22:52

Well hello there! I have had a month off Mumsnet as I was getting so stressed about my lack of AF. I'm now on CD71 or CD 100 (depends if mini bleed counts or not) and still no sign...making the most of a pregnancy free Christmas and decided to start thinking about it all seriously again in the new year.

Serenity - I have come off Lamotrogene which I take for epilepsy S we're TTC and as in so long without a period (and scarily I'm not on meds) I have bloods done last week so just waiting to hear back. Hope it goes well for you!!

SockQueen · 14/12/2014 09:34

I'm not sure of all of them. A lot is not specifically pregnancy-related, it's a general "women's health" study so things like bloods, an echocardiogram, lots of body shape/fat measurements (eek!) but if you do get pregnant then they do some extra blood tests and a couple of extra scans (at 7 and 28 weeks, IIRC) and monitor how your cardiovascular system changes with and after pregnancy. I have participated in a few research studies before and saw a flyer at work and thought I'd give it a go!

Shellbell0403 · 14/12/2014 07:45

My AF is actually playing up!! Here yesterday and no sign so far today!! It's doing my head in!!

That sounds interesting sockqueen!! What kind of tests etc?xxx
