Here, we go, nice new thread.
Might be helpful to have some stats so we know where we all are?

I will start, farfallarocks - TTC#2, cycle 11. 1st brooking baby DD, 21 months. Investigations reveal high FSH and potentially starting IVF.

Glad you've got one near you, take it reeeeeeeeaaaly easy for the next couple of days, either way you're going to need your strength!

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 17:27

Yes there is - it's open until 8:30pm tonight...wonder if I should pop along? That said, I'll miss Bake Off. You know what, I will take it reeeeeealllllly easy tonight and then go tomorrow evening, or Friday. Sounds reasonable.

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 17:24

Do you know what, Boo - I've no idea if we've got an EPU or not. I just assumed everyone had one nearby Blush. Hold on...

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 17:23

6 weeks and 1 day I think, Keep. I will phone the EPU on Friday and see if I can just turn up - if not I will book an appt with GP. You lovely ladies are of course right - it's not over until the fat lady sings. That said, I don't have any unrealistic expectations of this working out okay - after all I think it would take a miracle and we've already had one of those with me getting diffed in the first place! Mustn't be greedy now ;)

Mr Imps and I have reaffirmed our no-moping policy and have booked a fabbo weekend away just before Christmas! I have also got back to planning our new bathroom which we'd put on hold once I got the BFP. We'll be okay whatever happens :)

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 24/09/2014 17:18

Oh Imps I'm so sorry that you're having all this happen, I hope beyond everything that this turns out ok, have you got an epu you can visit?

keepitgoing · 24/09/2014 16:45

oh imps I'm brooking for you my lovely. I really really really hope it's nothing. boobs go up and down all the time. I definitely think you should go to epu. I think you can normally refer yourself rather than go via the gp. how many weeks are you now, 6? xxx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2014 14:56

My boobs would kill one day, then nothing the next. I don't want to give false hope either, but I think it's too soon to say it's over. I really would recommend the GP on Friday. They will send you for a scan to check x

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 14:42

I'm working from home on Fri so may give GP a call then :)

farfallarocks · 24/09/2014 14:26

The boobs vary hugely, I know it totally freaked me out.
The bleeding could be normal. I am not trying to give you false hope because as you know this has gone both ways for me but there is still hope here.

Can you speak to the GP?

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 14:15

But the boobs Maybe! They were ouchy yesterday but are perfectly fine today, prod and bounce as I might.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2014 14:04

I had the exact same thing Imps, and I know Musical had a lot of blood too. It really doesn't mean things are over. Also, you should get checked over too x

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 13:35

Well I'm pretty sure - quite a lot of fresh bright red blood and boobs have gone right back to normal. Cramps have been those ominous hollow pressure type cramps, rather than stretchy ones I had last week. Will obv keep an eye but blood shows no signs of abating. I'd be extremely surprised if it wasn't an mc!

farfallarocks · 24/09/2014 12:59

imps I am so sorry, as maybe says, are you sure? Bleeding is very very common indeed as are cramps.
Big squeeze for you, life is just unfair sometimes.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 24/09/2014 12:52

Oh Imps, are you sure? What's happening?x

Imps9 · 24/09/2014 12:50

Morning lovelies! Happy Wednesday to you all. Nice and sunny in my neck of the woods.

Bad news unfortunately - am in the process of miscarrying little Implette - he/she just wasn't meant to be. Feeling pretty calm - this was a chance that Mr Imps and I never ever thought we would have so I don't feel like it's any sort of step backwards. And on the plus side, it's encouraged him to look into Chinese herbs and other supplements to try to improve his swimmers! Bless him, he's pretty upset and I feel worse about that than the lack of baby tbh.

What's everyone up to today then?

farfallarocks · 24/09/2014 10:54

How are you today imps? Giving you a little squeeze :)
p.s. an arctic pee stick is a negative, pure snowy white where it should be pink!

keepitgoing · 23/09/2014 17:23

yes I was short protocol. much easier Smile

imps I think almost everyone has some spotting, though that doesn't make it any less scary. I did at 7&12 weeks after sex cramps too, loads of them your womb is just saying wtf is this?? make space, make room

NoMaybeAboutIt · 23/09/2014 17:05

Oh lovely, the hormones. You wait till the Christmas ads start.... I bled all the way till 12 weeks and some of the cramps were breath taking. Implette is a-ok in there lovely x

No, the CF didn't affect anything further as I'm not a carrier, so any babies can't have it, though they can carry it.

That's good Far! I so believe the lovely Keep and Solars were short protocol too, and look at them Wink

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 15:29

Thank you lovelies!

Ha ha oops Far - you are of course looking lean and svelte and wonderful - deffo not Fat!!

farfallarocks · 23/09/2014 14:41

Sorry I don't mean you are silly, you know what I mean don't ya?

All crossed for you!!

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 23/09/2014 14:40

Oi imps who are you calling fat?

With short I think you just don't down reg first, you start on the first day of your period and just stimulate the ovaries without having shut them down first.

Don't be silly, you have not jinxed it at all. Brown spotting can of course be normal. I had it with minifar, actually I had a full on bleed and cramps and was convinced it was all over! I have had it go both ways as you know. What really helped me was having an hcg blood test and seeing it go up so I knew the spotting was not dropping hormones and then an early scan at 6 weeks.

All crossed for you lovely and brooking like mad for you!

DinoSnores · 23/09/2014 14:23

imps, that all sounds very, very normal based on my previous pregnancies. Remember that there is so little you can do to prevent or cause a miscarriage. Being excited about it, telling the GP etc is not going to 'jinx' it. Today, you are pregnant!

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 13:55

Thanks Boo - I've had lots of cramping but these feel like Bad Cramps instead of Good Cramps. Haven't been knicker-checking til today - I feel like making it official with the GP has jinxed it.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 23/09/2014 13:18

Imps brown is old, not new blood, and cramping is very very common in early pregnancy, those pesky hormones are loosening all your ligaments for stretching.

And yes, he was perfectly fine when he had his lunch, he'd had several lunches before that day, but in my hormonal daze I forgot that Wink

Imps9 · 23/09/2014 13:03

GP says nothing will stop re: IVF referral until the dating scan (if that's okay). Feeling a bit it's-all-over at the moment - bit of brown cm and some pre-AF cramping - not like cramps I've had so far. Just have to wait and see I guess!

Boo love your hormone stories - I love a good ol' meltdown tale. Presumably DH was perfectly okay about going out for lunch by himself?!

Fat great that it's all starting! Still don't fully understand difference between short and long protocol (apart from the fact that one is short and one is long, presumably?). Remember - it just takes one. Oh, by the way - what's an arctic peestick??

maybe I didn't know about the CF - I knew there were no tubes but didn't realise that was the cause. Did it affect how they chose which sperm/embie to use?

Can't believe that it's still Tuesday.
