Hi

I am new to mumsnet and just wanted to start a new thread for those who have maybe just started ttc or have been for a while and their goal is to get a bfp before xmas this year.

I have just started ttc and not long off microgynon so waiting to see what happens. Not telling anyone as me and DP want to keep it to ourselves until bfp to avoid any pressure so just looking for some internet friends to chat to!

All good signs strawberry keeping fx for you.

Stuck in limbo over here, nausea, ravenously hungry, constant exhaustion, but I also have cramps so Af may be here soon.
Thinking of testing sun if Af not arrived.

StrawberryCheese · 14/10/2014 21:00

idle glad AF has finally made an appearance for you. Grin at you thinking about puppies.

I am in limbo at the moment. AF was due yesterday but there is no sign at all. I don't want to buy a test just yet, if nothing shows by the weekend I will get one. I do have a good feeling this time, I don't know why. I'm looking out for symptoms but the only thing I've got going on is a spotty chin Blush the odd headache and baked beans nearly made me gag last week.

Hello primeravez Smile

PrimeraVez · 14/10/2014 08:37

Hello Brew
I'm new here, TTC#1

Had my implant out in April and AF came back a few weeks later. We've only decided to start TTC this month (I thought it would take much longer for AF to come back)
Have been using Fertility Friend, OPKs and temping this month and apparently I ov'ed on CD15. For various reasons we didn't DTD until 1dpo but pretty sure we've missed the boat this month. Am now 11dpo and have been testing everyday since 6dpo Blush All BFNs. It could be too early but am realistic that we missed the egg this month.

Am just desperate for AF to turn up (due on Saturday) we can start properly! So determined to have a BFP for Christmas but realize that is very optimistic!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you and sharing my sympton spotting craziness!

idlefolly · 14/10/2014 08:26

So...after four days of spotting I FINALLY got my AF on Sunday!!! Almost 14 weeks after having my implant removed! It arrived with gusto on Sunday morning, accompanied by cramps and weeping almost constantly for 8 hours (The GBBO master class made me cry, as did thinking about puppies Blush)! Although I am semi-relieved that something is finally happening (still worried about potential PCOS diagnosis) I was a little bit disappointed as a part of me thought that just maybe I had implantation bleeding and had conceived against the odds. Oh well. At least I have a cycle day now, yay!

How is everyone else doing? xx

idlefolly · 09/10/2014 13:51

Hi PP. Yes my LH levels were higher than FSH. Here are my results: FSH 6.2 (follicular phase normal is 4-13, ovulation phase normal is 5-22) and LH was 21.1 (follicular normal is 2-13, ovulation normal is 14-96) so both are within the normal range for the ovulation phase of my cycle. Fingers crossed that's the case!

I'm glad you've booked an appt. You may as well get the ball rolling sooner rather than later and it may be that your doctor can put your mind at ease. I hope it goes ok, will you let me know? I'll keep you posted about any developments with me. I haven't poas yet as I think it would be too soon to detect anything. I have read that some people have had BFPs 10 dpo, which would take me to Monday so maybe I'll try then. This whole TTC business is a right old roller coaster isn't it!
Do you chart your temp at all? It might be worth doing just to see if you can detect any changes during the month. The more info you can take to the doctor (and the better you know your own body) the better! FX for you. xxx

PrincessPenguin · 09/10/2014 12:46

Thanks for sharing Idle. So your LH levels were higher? FX that you don't have PCOS and that like you said it was because you were ovulating...cause that's when LH levels are highest right? So frustrating that all this testing takes so long! 6 weeks can seem like a long time when you want to get on with things! Maybe it was an implantation bleed...are you going to POAS??

I have booked a GP appt for next Thurs because I can't stand the wait any longer! I'm also pretty sure I haven't ovulated at all as I've had no CM whatsoever (esp not EWCM) and nothing has ever showed up on the OPKs...

xxx

idlefolly · 09/10/2014 11:45

PrincessPenguin you wanted me to let you know how I got on at the doctors...(sorry for such a long post).

She said that my levels of FSH and LH are inverted - FSH should be higher than LH apparently and my levels are other way round. This could be symptomatic of PCOS so she has booked me in for a transvaginal (nice!) scan to confirm if I have or haven't got PCOS. I should receive the appointment within about 6 weeks.
I am pretty bummed about the results...BUT....last week, I had symptoms of ovulation for the first time since having my implant removed (EWCM for about 4/5 days, positive OPK on Friday evening, sore nipples for a couple of days after and still slightly sensitive now but not as much). Normally, blood tests to check hormone levels are done on day 3 of your cycle, but since I don't know where I am in my cycle that couldn't be done. More to the point, if I was in fact ovulating (or about to) when my blood was tested - which I think I was - there would have been a surge in LH and my levels of both hormones would be within the normal range for the ovulation phase of my cycle!
Yesterday I had some very pale pink CM when I wiped and then a little bit in my knickers in the evening (sorry, TMI) and this morning when I wiped I had much more and it was very pinky red. I am 6 dpo today (if I did ovulate on Friday) so wondering what is going on whilst trying not to get my hopes up that it is an implantation bleed as I know it's very unlikely. I have a kind of sensation in my lower abdomen that isn't quite a cramp, just a feeling. It may be that I am going to get my AF but FX that it's the other thing!!

Princess have you had anything at all? It might be worth booking your appointment at the docs, you've got nothing to gain by waiting.

Dreamingoutloud · 07/10/2014 15:48

Well back from holidays, had the most relaxing time, now completely confused by this ov malarky!!

I had side pains on Wednesday (cd13) and very light spotting which I thought were down to ov, however Yesterday I had the same pains and ewm! I'm so confused where I am!

Last month I felt like I knew exactly where I was, is it cz we're actually trying this month that maybe I'm overthinking everything?!

PrincessPenguin · 07/10/2014 12:18

I don't think so, Idle - I've been using Boots own OPK thingys every few days just out of curiosity and they have never shown anything at all...Hmm

Just so frustrating as tbh I can't even remember how regular I was before, as I had the implant back to back for about 6 years! sigh. I think I will wait another couple of weeks and then go to docs. FX your results will be fine and our systems just need a kick up the backside! xxx

idlefolly · 07/10/2014 11:20

Hi princess, I get my results on Thursday morning so will report back then!

I decided to leave it 12 weeks before going to the doctors as I have read about lots of women waiting 10 or 11 weeks for their AF after having their implant out. It seems that different doctors say different things though
as others report that their doctors have said it can take 6 months for things to get going. If you're worried though (as I am) book an appt.

Do you think you've ovulated at all?

PrincessPenguin · 07/10/2014 10:36

Idle when will you get your test results? I'm now 10 weeks since having the implant out and no sign of AF here either...wondering how long to leave it before I go to the doctors. Good luck to everyone! xxx

idlefolly · 04/10/2014 09:19

Congrats croon!

Update! Still no AF (12 weeks and 4 days since implant removal) so I went to Drs and had blood tests yesterday. Doctor said if I haven't had AF by now it is not because of implant. So naturally felt v worried and upset. BUT! I think I may have ovulated this week...I have had EWCM for about 4/5 days (which I haven't had since implant removal), my cervix feels high (sorry, TMI), my nipples feel v sensitive and yesterday I had a positive OPK!!! I did 3 OPKs yesterday though, one in the morning = line but not as dark as control, a second mid-morning = no line and then one in the evening = second line as dark as control...a bit bemused as to why three different results, but considering other symptoms do you think I can assume ovulation? DTD two days ago but not pinning hope in a BFP this month, just relieved that hopefully my body has started to wake up! We'll see in 2 wks I guess, if the elusive AF makes an appearance!
Oops, sorry for long post! Hope everyone is doing ok and there have been lots of BFPs! Smile

Beansprout30 · 03/10/2014 21:22

Thanks for the reply Croon, nice to hear positive stories

croon979 · 02/10/2014 22:21

Thanks Beansprout :). I bought a CB fertility monitor and it confirmed that I also ovulated very late. My 2 peak days were on CD19/20 so I could even have ovulated after then on day 21. My cycles are usually anywhere between 28 -31 days so without my monitor I would never have known I ovulated so late and would probably have been BDing a week early. Keep faith though, ovulating late is fine provided there is long enough for the eggy to fertilise, travel and implant. A full 14 days b/w ovulation and expected next period is not always necessary xx

Beansprout30 · 02/10/2014 22:15

Congratulations Croon, hope all stays well for you. Do you mind me asking how late you ovulated? I seem to ovulate on cd 20 and thought this wasn't ideal?

croon979 · 02/10/2014 21:56

Hello ladies, I posted back here in august when my DH and I decided to start TTC. Little update - I got my BFP yesterday! Delighted and in shock. As I ovulated late it is verrrrry early days though, so being cautious and trying not to get ahead of myself. I will only be 2 weeks since conception, 4 since last AF. Fingers crossed to all those still hoping for BFP by Xmas xx

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 23:05

No purple, she'd be really interfering (in a nice way if she did). We were hoping to give her her first grandchild but it doesn't look like its meant to be. I suppose this takes a bit of heat off.

Only found out SIL Is pregnant last month. She's due next month and has basically been in hiding since she started to show. It's all very odd!

Baby dust to you all. Will be our day one day. Xx

Sebysmamy · 23/09/2014 17:33

I know the feeling Baffers -My SIL is too, but they've tried for 7 Yrs, I am happy & supportive but underneath I feel slightly jealous because I want that too.

Sending you lots of hugs & luck x

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/09/2014 17:26

That's pretty thoughtless Baffers, does she know you are trying?

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 16:57

I purchased the BBT thermometer, a chart, about 15 early detection pregnancy tests and 30 (I think) ovulation sticks off the babymad website. Under £11 and free postage, hoorah.

My SIL is pregnant, so I am getting daily emails from the MIL about "we've got the cot out" and "look what I've brought." While it's nice I can't help thinking it sucks. She doesn't even want a baby!

squiish · 23/09/2014 16:30

Baffers I tempted previous cycle and bought a Basal thermometer for it - £5 from Amazon! I recorded them by point 1 decimal point not sure if that is correct though.

Feeling completely fed up today!! On CD 30 and no sign of AF, no dryness (tmi) and my boobs are so so sore :(. I POAS yest evening and it was negative so I'm just in limbo.

Positive vibes this way please!

Sebysmamy · 23/09/2014 15:32

Hi- hope you don't mind me commenting but I think I'm going crazy & need some advice! TTC DC2, with the 1st wasn't even trying & got pg right away this time I'm defo TTC and it's the 1st month so looking for those symptoms that might indicate BFP but I tested 9dpo & today, 11dpo with CB digital & BFN! Utterly confused!! My cycles are all over, I can go months at a time with no AF but August AF was present so went for it & according to an app I conceived 12th Sept, if indeed I did, so am I in fact testing too early?

So far I feel
*sensitive nips
*i can smell my neighbours smoking!

  • I cried at stupid stuff (defo not like me) *retched @ the squelching of Mayo being scooped from the jar!!

But can all these be in my head!? With my 1st I was over 10 wks gone when I found out I was pg but I thought I had the flu then!

Baffers100 · 23/09/2014 08:52

Hi ladies,
So I think I may start temping.I'm due to do a pregnancy test in 11 days (according to Ovia), buf ig that doesn't get my my BFP then I think temping will help me out.
Do I need a specific type of thermometer, or is a standard boots digital jobby ok?
Also, do I need to chart to one decimal place, or two?

Thanks.

Beansprout30 · 21/09/2014 11:23

Forgot to say so many people I know have announced pregnancy news the last fews months, that has been so bloody hard to hear when it's the only thing we wan right now

Beansprout30 · 21/09/2014 11:21
