Hi

I am new to mumsnet and just wanted to start a new thread for those who have maybe just started ttc or have been for a while and their goal is to get a bfp before xmas this year.

I have just started ttc and not long off microgynon so waiting to see what happens. Not telling anyone as me and DP want to keep it to ourselves until bfp to avoid any pressure so just looking for some internet friends to chat to!

Cream, Becca, Blueburd, thank you for taking the time to reply.

I need to relax about it all I know.
Cream, thanks for your thoughtful words.
Bluebird, it's so frustrating isn't it! Keep me posted on your situation! FX AF arrives soon for both of us so we can get ourselves organised and start making babies! Smile

Bluebird89 · 20/08/2014 21:20

Idle I'm in pretty much the same boat. Had my implant removed 15/07 and no AF yet. It is so frustrating not knowing what's going on. Don't know about you but I didn't have any bleeding whilst my implant was in either so not a clue re my cycle length. I read on another thread it took someone 10 weeks to get their first AF. FX for both of us she arrives soon

beccaroo · 20/08/2014 21:01

I had my implant removed and then went straight on the pill as it wasn't the right time, and my cycles were quite random initially. The doc did tell me I could be ovulating without and periods but if you're worried (and it must be annoying not knowing what's going on) then go and see them. Or just DTD every other day like they tell you to! Wink

Foxtrot7459 · 20/08/2014 20:11

Can I join too. Ttc #1 since dec 13, mc in June. My personal (and optimistic) aim is a bfp that I can safely tell people about by Christmas, but I will take a bfp before Xmas if offered it now!

creamhearts · 20/08/2014 20:05

I have not had an implant removed idle but just wanted to tell you not to worry, I am sure your cycles will sort themselves out soon.

With the ovulation sticks does the line have to be dark for it to be ovulation?

idlefolly · 20/08/2014 16:43

Hi all, still no AF. It's been six weeks since I had my implant removed, do you think I should be worried?

It's so frustrating because I have had no real signs that I've ovulated (I have been doing OPKs on and off for the last few weeks and had a line a couple of weeks ago - not as dark and the control line but still a line - but no EWCM so I'm not sure if I ovulated or not, and then I did another OPK a few days ago and got the same. A line but not as dark as control...could I have ovulated twice in two weeks with no AF??).
It gets me down as I'm not even sure at this stage if there's any point in DTD as I don't even know if I'm ovulating! Sad

Has anyone else had a similar experience after having their implant removed? Thanks for listening to me vent!!

Jcandy · 20/08/2014 15:11

Hi all! Can I join too? I'm 30 and having my mirena out next week and then it's just waiting time I guess. Pregnant by Christmas would be a lovely present Smile I'm trying for my first....... Was anyone just nervous to get started altogether? I'm excited too don't get me wrong!

idlefolly · 19/08/2014 22:49

Can I join you ladies? I'm 31, DH is 33 and we're TTC #1. I had my implant removed on 08/07 and still waiting for AF before really going for it (6 wks and counting!).

Girly1409 · 19/08/2014 21:52

That's so cute Brighteyes I'm so glad it's not just me.

Also had a moment similar to your 'I need a baby NOW' miracle AF. Been terrified of pregnancy and giving birth forever mostly cos I'm terrified of vomiting (#issues). Knew we were planning to start TTC this week and last week I had a lovely taster of the dreaded "morning" sickness. I'm convinced it's my body preparing me for what's to come.

Creamhearts I don't think you should worry. Everyone's cycle is different. Mine are different every month but I know that's normal for me.

creamhearts · 19/08/2014 21:39

I am jealous of these 28 day cycles, mine are so long (36 days) and I worry that it means something is wrong with me. I am tracking my temps and CM to see when I ovulate but obviously its not worked yet!

Brighteyes1985 · 19/08/2014 21:26

Thanks for the feedback beccaroo.

Also girly1409 if DTD means what I think it does-first time at it without any protection(?)-I was soooooo nervous! I've been with my husband 6 years and am not a coy person at all with him...I crawled under the covers to take my clothes off and started giggling!

Huge congratulations bananatoast!!

I came off the pill in May and have just settled into a 28 day cycle.

ttc #1 Fingerscrossed for BFP before Xmas!

I have a lovely 13 year old step son but desperate for one of my own!

Good luck all!! Xx

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 21:04

Also Brighteyes it's definitely ok to have a go, my doc said it's best to wait until you've had a few periods so you have an idea of what your cycles are like, but there's no problem if you conceive sooner, and even though you're not having periods you might still be ovulating as the uterine wall can be slow to build up when it has had years of being quiet...

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 21:03

I agree - very emotional!! And then you do it EVERY DAY for a week and it becomes less so (but still good)!

FreckleBee · 19/08/2014 19:56

PS Girly1409 I agree it was really quite emotional and nerve wracking! I guess because you know it could be a life changing moment!!

FreckleBee · 19/08/2014 19:53

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join in too? We are on cycle 1 of TTC and I'm currently ovulating. So hard not to put all my hope on it working first time round! I also would love to be pregnant for christmas.
Hope you are all getting on okay

Brighteyes1985 · 19/08/2014 19:33

Hello all
Breaking my mumsnet posting virginity here after lurking around a couple of posts! Only got the hang of a few of the abbreviations so apologise in advance.
I came off cerezzete on the 11th August and am TTC! From reading a couple of posts I understand people have waited for their cycles to 'kick' in, based on doctors advice, we've just been going for it...is that ok?
Also it's beside the point but I never had a period on cerezzete until I had my magic 'I want a baby NOW' moment, then my periods came back. That was back in April when our niece visited (waiting to come off the pill after our holiday in August). I'm very much hoping it's some sort of weird and wonderful sign of good ovulation!
Good luck everyone x

Girly1409 · 19/08/2014 18:55

Hi all
Would love to join you! I'm 27yo TTC#1 Cycle#1 Married 2 years. DH always wanted kids but I took some convincing. Now I'm on board, I'm so on board!
Anyone else find DTD for first time without protection an overwhelmingly emotional moment or am I being way too soppy?
Really looking forward to this journey if I'm honest. Hoping to make it fun and not stressful. FX for BFP by Xmas for all of us. Congrats to everyone who's already there Smile

Dreamingoutloud · 19/08/2014 18:43

Hi I'm going to join you all if you don't mind, stopped taking the pill on Sunday so waiting for the withdrawal and then we will ttc, we have a holiday next month which will be like our last big hoorah/expenditure. Hoping my cycle kicks in pretty quickly, I've been on the pill for about 8 years although I took a 2 month break last year due to pill side effects and I had a 29 day cycle straight away, hoping it's the same this time, although now that I need it too it probably won't!
A bfp by christmas would be an absolute dream Smile

Melodygrace · 19/08/2014 16:31

Hi I'm going to join you I have two little girls already so we are going to try for our final baby. I'm going to try and bd only around ovulation in the hopes I get a little boy.
We are not bothered if we get another little girl but a boy would be nice!
Wishing us all our bfps. I'm quite excited I have opks and pregnancy tests at the ready. I ovulate in around 6 days so seems like ages before I get to test. Oh well. First month of trying after coming off microgynon. Good luck girls :)

CabbagePatchCheryl · 19/08/2014 16:18

Thanks loves (and welcome Becca). I know you're right - even writing down those worries made me feel better and a bit silly (In my defence I am insanely hormonal).

Never thought I'd be keeping my fingers crossed for AF! Onwards and upwards, next month will be better.

beccaroo · 19/08/2014 16:04

Hello everyone! Could I please join you?
When I saw this thread I got very excited as it exactly describes my situation. I am 28y, 3 months off BC, TTC no 1, cycle 1, day 27. Used OPK's and thought we had DTD plenty (I was exhausted!) and at the right time, 2 BFN's today and CD 25....so now waiting to see what happens!

Being a science geek I like to understand what's going on so am considering getting a CBFM...is that SO sad after just one month of TTC?! Blush
Anyway, hoping for a BFP before Christmas and FX for you all too. Smile

creamhearts · 19/08/2014 15:59

Oh cabbage please don't be sad, I am sure your glass of wine has nothing to do with it. I hope your period arrives soon for you so you can get on with your next cycle.

lookingspiffy · 19/08/2014 15:32

Aww cabbage! a) 4 days late doesn't mean your cycle is screwed up.. Plus mine often goes a bit haywire when I'm stressed.

B) a night on the wine so early in pregnancy will be fine. While obviously not ideal, I honestly wouldn't worry. A friend of mine drank for the first 6 months of pregnancy as she had no idea she was pregnant... Her son is 10 now and just fine!
