I love these buses. I've popped on here and already you ladies have reassured me that I'm not alone with everything. Right now I can totally relate to everything that's been said re trying to keep things fun and not pressured. its been a real issue for us recently and DH has struggled and ive got resentful. All I can say is for us communication is key. just keep talking. I've also found being positive and upbeat helps us both too. We're both making an effort - him to accept it's not always going to be fun and me to accept that he just agree to dtd every day lol Smile

And the people asking - I get that all the time. A friend cornered us at the weekend and went on and on. DH was firm and said politely that a) it's none of her business and b) it's not always simple and she laughed and said "what's not simple? lots of jiggy and you'll be preggers in a month!! its not rocket science you know!"

err really? I had NO IDEA it was that bloody easy! Fancy! I thought it just HAPPENED by magic.

tickletink · 05/08/2014 09:55

Haha Kurama, I'm not going to google that as I'm at work but I'm pretty sure I've seen the pictures you're talking about! - Tattoos, right? Ouch!

EnglishGirlsReturned, I can't believe the insensitivity of some people out there. I'm so, so tired of people asking me when we're going to have a baby or even why we haven't yet! We've been married almost two years, obviously I should be pregnant with #2 first. None of this "having a life" business is allowed!

Drives me so up the wall I've deactivated my facebook account. I couldn't take all the baby talk from friends who have new(ish) children and those that are pregnant. I tried really hard to not let it get at me, but it did. I think it's best for me and for everyone else if I just give myself a wee bit of distance!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/08/2014 09:52

Oh I gave in and tested! Shock Completely and utterly not pregnant on a clearblue test either. My guess is af should turn up tomorrow which will be a full 2 weeks since the last ewcm! Unless it's a repeat of 2003 where I didn't get a positive for a 7-8 wks. unlikely Going to order the kitty vits today in hope they turn up pretty pronto! Not too sad about it, had my meltdown last week where you all kindly picked me up off the floor Wink

Spinning car trouble is rubbish. So sorry it's a stress none of us can be doing with.

English glad you're back on form. Be shaking my pom poms like mad for you this month!

Enjoying my week of peace and quiet Smile

spinningirl10 · 05/08/2014 09:36

Kurama, fx your car passes the mot.

Janey, it's tough when they have performance issues. I've been down about it over the months. Especially as we dtd quite a lot and with no problems except for that crucial time!! I've tried all sorts but we still have problems sometimes.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 05/08/2014 09:34

Morning!
Teachers - spots around your chin are very much hormonal but I couldn't tell you if its's pre-af or around ov.
Lucie - My sex life hasn't been romantic for at least 6 months. But DH is very aware now of what has to be done. We try to make sure we keep up some kind of sex life before and after ov time. Normally, like others have said involving blow jobs!
Chandlers - that response is more than acceptable to me Wink. A friend (I'll use that word loosely) - commented of a pic of my DH holding our friends new born saying 'You should have one, it suits him' - how I didn't respond with "I'm trying but unfortunately my body doesn't seem to want to carry a baby" is beyond me.
Spinning, sorry your car has died.
Wine - that quote is brilliant!. Definitely not fun anymore!!

JaneyTea · 05/08/2014 08:57

oh Wineandchoccy that image/quote is so true. Smile Totally feeling like that this morning. I suspect that this month is not going to be the month for us. Whilst we were on holiday last week, (and not during fertile window, so no pressure) DP started to have a few performance issues. These have carried on into this week, and I can't lie, the whole thing is making me feel really down. It seems doubly hard because I can't talk to him in depth about how I'm feeling, because I don't want to pile on more pressure and I can't talk to anyone else because of how private the whole thing is.

So much pregnancy talk in the office at the moment, isn't helping.

But yeah, this doesn't feel like the "fun part" anymore.... Sad

Shetland · 05/08/2014 08:33

I'm glad you asked that tickletink ! I was wondering...
I'm not going to be googling anything though Grin

So at 5 DPO I'm symptom spotting - so much for being more relaxed this time. Every time I stand up I get dizzy. I always have low blood pressure (though not usually symptomatic) so clearly this means nothing but I've assigned it symptom status Grin

misty I am now holding off poas as it's ridiculously early but I will definitely cave soon!

kurama · 05/08/2014 08:15

Morning everyone. Sorry your car died spinning. I'm wondering if our old banger will make it through mot tomoro! Confused
The penis dragon was on one of the previous busses. Can't remember where it came from but it's stuck! Type it into google images and prepare for amazement and horror!

Cariad2014 · 05/08/2014 08:08

Tickle - Not sure about cycling specifically (perhaps someone else can advise?) but tilting the cervix (by propping yourself on a pillow) both during and immediately after dtd is meant to assist sperm on their difficult journey...

Wineandchoccy · 05/08/2014 08:05

Blimey I don't come on MN for 1 day and we finish a thread and are 5 pages into the next, I'm going to go and read and check I've not missed any BFP.

I saw this quote that I agree with -

Emergency bus for August! Penis dragons welcome, summer loving continued!
tickletink · 05/08/2014 07:57

Lol - Cariad - do you think the cycling thing really helps? :D Congratulations on your bonking anyway.

I've got to ask..what on earth is a penis dragon?!

mistywillow17 · 05/08/2014 07:54

Oh, HERE you all are! Thought I'd lost you! Lots to read back and catch up on.

Update from me - about 10dpo (I think) and have woken up with a really dry mouth. I'm definitely not dehydrated and have been guzzling water for the past hour, but still like I've been sucking on cotton wool balls. Yeuch.

Oh, and of course I completely caved on the "not testing til 12 dpo idea" from about 6dpo Blush Still BFN though. No matter how I squint at it! Still plenty of time though.

Cariad2014 · 05/08/2014 07:53

Chanlersfarang - I know how it must feel. As if living through a baby boom amongst my close friends and colleagues wasn't enough, even my parents have started enquiring about when we're going to start baby making - very frustrating indeed!

Lucie - We also struggle to keep things romantic at our house - to the extent that DH has started enquiring what the CBFM says each morning before deciding whether he thinks we should DTD! I was keen to start DTD at 8dpo this month but DH was tired and justified his reluctance on the basis that "the Monitor says low"

Luckily the Monitor is now saying "high" which is why I'm typing this whilst cycling upside down!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/08/2014 07:37

X loads of posts there!

Sorry to hear about your car Spinningirl10! Dh kind insisted on us getting 7 seater before starting to ttc and although our car was old and knackered it still worked and I found getting a newer one quite nerve wracking! So far so good though!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/08/2014 07:31

Teachermummy2b I isually get a spot the week I ovulate and as af is arriving.

Have you tried talking to him about how important it is to you lucieloos? He may be in the 'if it happens it's great but if not we're fine' frame of mind? I have a higher sex drive the dh anyway so we've learned over the years how to not upset each other. Time of the day is quite important for us and things like getting undressed and sitting on his lap tend to make him more interested! I agree as well about chatting and putting internet/tv away or go for a walk. I find the rare evening we get to go out together we eat too much and fall asleep as soon as we're home so that doesn't work for us. Or just don't mention it at all and be more up for it all month long?

Glad to see your back and ready to fight another day Englishgirlreturned!

I think that may be slightly mean to your cousin ChandlersFarang but I see why you want to write it!!

Pikz · 05/08/2014 07:30

Ahhhhh hi Shetland Smile

Chandlers my standard response is why don't you tell me Grin

Lucite as kitty says have a chat with DH. I'm our house as we had this chat with DS we have a code sentence....which is usually along the lines of fancy putting a smile on my face later....to the point but not as factual as I got a smiley so we have to!

Not full of confidence here. Like MrsE think AF is on her way. Will try with fmu tomorrow if still not here and I manage to get a test tonight

tickletink · 05/08/2014 07:28

Hi guys! :)

Finding this TTC lark confusing. I'm on cycle day 18 now, and not sure if I'm on ovulation day or one day after. I got a positive ovulation test yesterday. No temperature spike this morning though. What would you guys say if it was you?

Here's a question for you - lately I've been waking up at one of two times in the morning - either at five o'clock when the light/birds seem to wake me, or quarter past six when my alarm does. Will that kind of difference really have an effect on my temperatures? I can't hack lying around for an hour if I wake up early!!

Struggling to keep nookie romantic and non-chore-like too. My husband seems to think I ONLY want to jump him because of baby-making and he's really acting like he's doing me a damned favour. It's really getting to me actually.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/08/2014 07:18

Chandlers that is a perfect answer. Thanks

OP posts:
KittyVonCatsington · 05/08/2014 07:06

lucie The difficult thing is, not every TTC "shag" will be romantic/spontaneous/rock your world and our DHs and DPs need to realise this Grin Instead, trying to inject some humour or, as has been suggested, offering them little "treats" are usually the carrots needed to entice them. Early on, I had a good chat with my DH about expectations and he knows he has the easier end of the stick, I mean, it is hardly a hardship have regular sex over what we have to go through symptom/OPK/temping etc.-wise. Maybe a chat with your DH might help?

MrsE Can't help you with the itchy-ness or manic cleaning-only time will tell!!!

Chandlers A similarly sarcastic response would come out of my mouth as well to a frankly out of order message as that one. Please tell me it's a message and not a post on your wall??!! Oh how I wish it was that easy to get pregnant for some!

Whatamuddleduck · 05/08/2014 07:04

Af is finally here! Never thought I would be so pleased but it's cd40 today or cd1 if she arrives properly. Finally get a go at ttc cycle 2. Right cbfm is ready and waiting and DP has a few days off at what should be the right time x

spinningirl10 · 05/08/2014 07:03

MorningGrin

Oh Chandler, that sucks!! Tell her to mind her own businessThanks

Well done KatyWink

English good to see you and pleased you're feeling positive now af has gone.

My car has diedSad going to try and find something else today.

Shetland · 05/08/2014 06:58

Sorry hetty Hope you can get back on the buses ASAP.

pikz I can kind of see something there but its a definite squinter. I agree you need a 'proper' test - a FR or something
(Ps I know you from another thread - I was k i r r i n)

chandler that sounds like a good response to me :)

So a question - what the earliest DPO you could test and reasonably expect a bfp. I am trying to hold of til next Tuesday, when I'll be 12 DPO - but I know I'll test earlier than that cos I'm like that! It would be a waste of a test wouldn't it?!

ChandlersFarang · 05/08/2014 05:13

Argh!!! Just seen FB message from my cousin, "now the question everyone must be asking, isn't it time for you to be jumping on the baby bandwagon?"

How's this for a reply?! "I'd love to, but turns out my ovaries are fucked." That'll shut her up, lol!! GrinWinkShock

ChandlersFarang · 05/08/2014 05:08

Lolz, sorry for causing the spitting... there's an obvious joke there given the context, but I won't bother. He he Wink

Hetty, all the very best for the next couple of months - at least you'll be in top condition for TTC after! Bon courage Smile

Was it Surrey that mentioned the sperm issue? I tried to find the comment but to no avail. Just wanted to mention, the swimmers that come out on any given day were formed 3 months ago - so any changes to lifestyle now will show improvements in 3 months' time. Of course the test could have been flawed in the time it took to analyse/where it was done too... Best to do it at the clinic and hand it straight in! Just mentioning this incase there's another test in quick succession and the results are similar, don't lose hope. We had this ourselves on the motility front - the doc is waiting a good while before retesting.

As for the 'keeping it sexy' business, my DH has been on a mad exercise and health binge lately (in part due to above!), so all it takes is me complimenting him on his 'guns' etc and he gets all testosterony and up for it! WinkShock Simple creatures really.

Am 9DPO today. Do not feel one bit pregnant! Every potential symptom has a rational explanation: my hot nights' sleep last week were down to the ear infection... The creamy CM is prob down to my progesterone tablets... The feeling of total exhaustion is because I'm hosting family... Boobs are totally normal, no implantation feelings/spotting, no nothing! Am going to try to wait til Friday before I test. We are flying down to Samui and Koh Tao that day (for the long Thai bank hol weekend with our family visitors) so that will be a nice consolation prize! Smile

fattycow · 04/08/2014 23:36

lucie, what I find that helps is:
going to bed early, so you aren't too tired.
Less tv/computer/tablet before bed, but spend the evening engaging with each other.
Give him a blow job from time to time (I do this at the least fertile times), so not all sex is 'just to make a baby' but just fun.
Dropping hints during the day seems to work as well. Not "I am fertile today, so I want sex tonight" but more along the lines of "you look really hot today, it's making me feel special WINK WINK".
