Here is the amazon link:

I've ordered it today as today is 12th month of trying after having AF. Has anyone used it or interested in using it? I like how it works it all out for you as I don't want to spend all that time stressing over learning how to chart myself. You poas when it tells you and insert the stick into the machine and it interprets it for you. Gives you a few high chance days and then the lh surge days. Measures oestrogen and lh. Also can test for pregnancy. You can input when you dtd too and a light and alarm can remind you.

I really like gadgets and technology anyway. If it works I don't care how much it costs. Anyone have any experience with it already? I don't think it's been put long.

As for enjoying being a couple honestly the last 2 months have been incredible between us and I'm loving every second. Long may it continue. I hope your doctors appointment sheds some light for you and we'll done being so brave to go!!x

BertieBoo10 · 08/12/2014 20:59

Thank you..I'm in two minds as to whether I too should book at appointment for whilst I'm off but I think I'll just wind up leaving it a bit longer, and a bit longer.

On a more positive note Boots were happy to swop the monitor and give me a whole new pack of test sticks. I know I'm now not able to start again til next month but I though I'd check if it picked up the sticks right so I dipped a pregnancy stick and it read it,just came up with the error which means it was the wrong time to test which is reassuring that this one works. I also picked up some poundland LH sticks for the time being as I'm sure they're just as good really. Be interesting to see if the test line does actually get darker as I've never persevered with them.

Mikeysmum2906 · 08/12/2014 09:12

Bertie ive had similar cycle issues to you I stopped microgynon in January (was on it a year) and have had one day periods since. They come regular but aren't how they were before. Ive also been having really bad breast pain from middle of cycle til af. I am fed up wondering so i have booked a docs appointment next week. Even if tests are clear least it'll give me peace of mind. Ive decided not to tell my partner about doc appointment unless they find something. I used monitor this month and got no peak so its just added to my worries. You have to try and stay calm and positive. Ttc takes time as many of ladies would agree. It is so deflating tho to get the bfn every month and i know exactly how you feel. Stressing will mess up your cycle. Im getting married in may so convincing myself its ok to get bfn til after then but in my heart i want a baby so much. Sounds like monitor faulty you should take it back. Anyway chin up just got to keep going and try and focus on the here and now. Enjoy being a couple before kids enter the equation x

BertieBoo10 · 08/12/2014 00:41

Should have said it gave me a high reading? Is that normal? I'm day 7 today of my cycle. I've been really regular since I'd say January of this year...2 days periods (which I never used to have I was always 4/5 days) and cycles of 27/28 days...

BertieBoo10 · 08/12/2014 00:36

Yes I could see a second line on a few (very new to all this testing so I'm still a little baffled). After 14...yes 14 tests, I finally got a reading I only got a reading by forcibly holding the stick in the machine so I'm wondering if it's the machine... (that'll be this month's quota gone in a day).OH told me off as I had used too many and I teary meltdown on the bathroom floor that involved me saying "It may work better if you pee on it" lol. Lady Boluna I'm terrified to...My biggest fear is that people will look down on me as I'm "younger" I've no idea why because as my OH keeps telling me it's our life and we're in a great position to have children but it's bothering. Plus I'm scared to hear bad news.. Does anyone have any experience as to what kind of testing they do? Can I go without my partner?

Mikeysmum2906 · 07/12/2014 22:24

Feeling major silly tonight. I 3 days from af and been suffering bad headaches for last week or so. Did a cheapie hpt seen 2 lines at first run into room to tell dp but then second line disappeared and deffo bfn. Feel so stupid for getting my hopes up. I hate the ttc and constant living in hope. Think im going to give up for a while it's starting to hack me off :(

Ladyboluna · 07/12/2014 17:47

Looks like it is broken. Never had that happen to me guess you're just unlucky. If you've been trying for 12 months now go to the doctor tell then you have been dtd every other day or so for that long and get some tests done. If you do have problems it's better to know than go several cycles more wondering if things are working right.
If you can see 2 lines the presence of a 2nd line means it'll detect the ovulating hormone Btw. Looks like I can see 2 lines in one or them?

BertieBoo10 · 07/12/2014 08:26

Hi All,

I'm new to all this thread malarchy so please bear with me but I really need to vent. I've just purchased the Clearblue advanced fertility monitor with the 20 pack of strips for a pricey cost of £150+ from Boots the other day. I merrily skipped home and have eagerly been awaiting day 6 all week so I could test. Needless to say in my absolute exhaustion I missed testing yesterday but myself and my partner we giddy with excitement to test today. So 7 am my alarm goes off. I'm up and ready to pee (or not so ready as the case may be- how difficult is it to pee on demand!! I'm someone who is normally peeing for England and it appeared I had stage fright)...7 tests later ALL with error message 8 one of which also said pregnant test error!?! I feel completely deflated. I used the first 2 in a urine stream the rest were from urine in a clean cup. The 8th test went in, counted down the 5 minutes and I was super excited...I was once again disappointed when I was greeted with an error message 7. I've never felt so frustrated! My other half was greeted with a less than happy me as he dared to attempt to get into the bathroom whilst I was having stern words with "this piece of rubbish machine".

Please tell me someone else has had his problem and it magically resolved itself. I'm now waiting until I need the toilet again during my 5am- 11am window. :(

I should introduce myself. I'm 23, my fiancé is 27 and we live together in our lovely little house. My better half cannot wait to start and family and nor can I, we both have good full time jobs, him as a engineer and myself as a staff nurse. The idea of actually planning to have a child panics me slightly though as I worry about everything (which won't help matters.) So since September 2013 when I came off my implanon contraceptive we have been " not trying but, not trying to stop it" and needless to say nothing has happened. We are over a year down the line and both beginning to worry, neither of us smoke, drink or are overweight however as a logical person by nature I figured I'd start by looking at me as it meant we didn't have to go to the doctors. Hence me buying the monitor.

To be greeted with error after error message is so frustrating. I'm really hoping being part of this post can keep me level headed!
Thanks in advance ladies...and to note I STILL don't need the toilet! Must have stage fright :(

Ladyboluna · 03/12/2014 11:37

Miss I think keeping it relatively private is something to be admired too - I think I would find it hard to keep it to myself as sometimes people do make comments etc and I wouldn't be sure how to respond.

Day 9 and I haven't got a "high" reading yet...

Hi mikeysmum mum I brought a thermometer to temp but don't get it, how's it working for you? X

MissMonkey · 03/12/2014 08:37

its a small silicone cup that you insert into your lady parts after dtd and it sits really high up so in a nutshell holds the sperm close to your cervix rather than letting gravity play its part. I guess rather than loosing the little swimmers you can control howlong they there as you can wear the cup up to 8 hours. This may be tmi but when I get a peak I intend to dtd twice a day and keep the 'cup' full for my peak period, it has to increase the chances right?

I do admire you being honest to everyone, I just don't think I'm that strong. X

Ladyboluna · 02/12/2014 19:56

I decided to be open to people about ttc because after a while I got frustrated by people quietly saying they know someone who struggled but then no one announces when they start trying so no one knows it happens quite often. So I have been on a personal one woman mission but now yeah people are a little cautious around me.

What do the soft cups do? Never heard of them but I have now purchased preseed...

Mikeysmum2906 · 02/12/2014 14:06

Hi miss monkey i stopped the cheapies when i got the monitor as couldnt make sense of them. I might give temping a go along with the monitor next month. No pg signs so suspect ill be here for a while. I don't talk to anyone in real world about all this as i know id just get itll happen and dont be so negative. The longer this goes on tho the more and more unlikely i start to think a BFP is. Anyway good luck ladies and thanks for the support x

MissMonkey · 02/12/2014 10:56

I have two friends who struggled TTC, one told everyone she was trying (which made everyone act weird and tiptoe round her - which is what I don't want) and the other who didn't tell anyone (only me as we were going through same thing - and now she acts weird around me as she's pregnant). So it seems I'm dammed if I tell people and dammed if I dont, that's why I love our chats on here as we are all going through the same.... So thank you ladies you keep me sane.

Your right though ladyboluna it does seem like it's only ladies on here are the ones that are going through the same thing.

I'm on day 20 and had 14 highs but no peak. I know you shouldn't read the sticks but about 4 days ago the second line was just as dark as the other so thought it was defo going to read peak in the next few days but know the second line has disappeared again, so I thing I have missed mine too.

I know what you mean lady about needing to remember it's just about the sperm meeting the egg, but I seem to be becoming obsessed with finding ways to push the sperm to meet the egg so iv even invested in soft cups and gels... I even drive myself mad.

Do you do the cheap poas as well mikeysmum? Fingers x for next month for you

Sorry about the essay ladies x

Ladyboluna · 01/12/2014 12:10

Mikey We all have the odd cycle where ovulation doesn't happen or it's longer than usual, that's normal - but it could just be the machine missed it.

Mikeysmum2906 · 30/11/2014 23:18

I have gave up on cbafm this month day 20 and still no peak. Im pretty sure I ov last week as i always get very sore boobs after and right upto af. I also has loads on ewm and the lines were quite strong on the sticks. Ive just started to feed the monitor the old sticks amd its still saying high. I think its missed my peak this month arrrggghhh so looks like another bfn month for me. Anyway Ill try again next month with the monitor and hope for the peak. Good luck ladies and congrats again Tea x

Ladyboluna · 30/11/2014 15:25

mikeysmum and missmonkey I am in the same boat - I have a small group of friends who I go out with once every other month or so, and 2 of them are currently pregnant. One of them met her partner while we were TTC and after she saw him for a year on their anniversary decided to make a baby and got pregnant, and this was all within the time we've been trying! (16 months).

I don't know anyone outside of MN who has struggled to conceive apart from my mother, and while we have a good relationship really I feel like I need to talk to people who are currently going through it.

Anyway, just started cycle number 5 (I think) on the CBFM. And I need to remember there isn't someone out there deciding who deserves to have babies but it's just a case of a sperm meeting an egg no matter what's going on with the bodies they're coming from.

Teakind · 29/11/2014 10:54

Hello, i didn't get a peak at all in the first month and then had 9 days of highs before my peak on the 2nd month. I've never temped but i did use the cheap opk sticks and never got a positive!

I hope you all get your bfps soon! x

MissMonkey · 28/11/2014 23:08

Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't been on in a while but massive congrats tea... That's really positive to hear that it was your second month using CBFM..... Gives all of us a little hope rather than thinking nothing works (which I have been telling my self more often

I can definitely sympathise with that mikeysmum, it seems everyone is telling me they're pregnant and it's getting harder each month when af arrives.

If you don't mind me asking tea what were your stats before you started using the CBFM?

So I'm on cycle day 17 and my 11th day of high but no peak yet, is this normal.... I think im wearing oh out convincing him peak is coming so let's have a warm up lap lol

Mikeysmum2906 · 23/11/2014 00:16

Congrats tea. Am on second month with the monitor on cd12 no highs so far. Did u get ov on day 22 in first month too? Just curious I got it day 16 last month but had highs for week before x

newbiefrugalgal · 22/11/2014 08:58

That's great news tea. Fingers and toes crossed for you.
I'm still on high readings waiting for a peak.

Teakind · 21/11/2014 13:41

Hey, i've just got a BFP on my second month of using the CBFM monitor. I didn't get a peak until CD22 so may well have been missing my window for months (it's taken 8 months in total).

I've googled what the pregnancy sticks look like for a positive before but couldn't find anything so thought i'd mention you do get two blue lines for a positive. Last month i had a squinter and that was obviously negative but this month i had a lighter one at 10dpo which came up negative and a nice dark line at 14dpo.

Keeping my fingers crossed it works out!

newbiefrugalgal · 19/11/2014 07:45

Jockey??? Autocorrect sorry monkey

newbiefrugalgal · 19/11/2014 07:45

Oh jockey it's always hard hearing others are pregnant when you are trying.
I am on day four of high. Thought I would get peak this morning but no luck. Will dtd tonight anyway. It shows my maybe baby app is out of whack to what I thought
