Oh no Cupcake. I think your DH needs a good old shaking. Sometimes I think men have things too easy now. They no longer have to be sole breadwinners. Yet many still don't get involved in sharing all the other chores and child raising and don't have to put their bodies through pregnancy.

Sometimes I think women got screwed by feminism!! Ugh.
Can you agree a fixed contribution from each person which goes into a shared account to cover bills, food etc?

DH and I keep separate accounts (I insisted on this when we got married as I need ownership over my money and distribute to the joint account from my main account- DH wasn't happy on this insistence but I wouldn't budge and so we make a fixed contribution to mortgage and all bills).

It is not fair for you to be in debt so he can have extra money to splash. He is NOT being a team player at all.

Sending hugs to you. You deserve more support.

Cupcake92 · 06/08/2014 09:59

Perfect idea Ducky!!!!
I used to earn the most, he had no job! But when I got pg I made him get a job and then we agreed he'd lay most of the things and I'd have time off work for the baby and only go back 2 days a week. Then we agreed we'll have one more child and after that I'll go back properly. But he gives me absolutely NO money at all. I pay for everything still. I'm in nearly £2000 debt as I've had to pay for bills shopping the cat the car DS everything. And he has so much cash to splash it's unfair :(

poppet85 · 06/08/2014 09:45

Money arguments are what we argue most about , I earn way more and in order for me to have mat leave dh needs to double what he currently earns ( he owns his own business) up until now its been all happy because of the baby and I havent mentioned it but come september think I am going to have to have words !!

Ducky23 · 06/08/2014 09:32

Cupcake he's been ok actually! Touch wood! But he can be very much like your DH at times, I get paid more, I pay every single bill and he gets shopping which he conviniently forgets loads of stuff and always says we need to do it on a budget so I end up paying for that too so he can buy himself things Hmm

Hope it works out whatever you decide. Maybe me and you should run away together cupcake and let out dh's have each other Grin

Cupcake92 · 06/08/2014 09:19

Ducky how's ur DH?
As mine is on his man period again!!
He's just been so horrible to me! I'm sick of being spoken to like a piece of crap on the bottom of his shoe. Always being bossed about to do things. Like if I'm in the middle of feeding DS and DH is hungry he'll say "I'm so hungry. U can make my lunch now if u like"
He is perfectly capable of doing it himself!!!! He NEVER talks to me. It's always "I'm trying to relax before work" or "I'm trying to relax I've been at work" or he just plain ignores me. I get no hugs no kisses nothing. If I so much as touch him with my arm in bed he quick moves his away so that I'm not touching him.
Hate to say this but I don't want to be with him the rest of my life. Can't be treated like crap all the time.
And today we've run out of toilet paper, milk and cat litter. I have no money at all as I brought the new car, he's just been paid, I asked him to get some and he said to me "I can get toilet paper and milk I can afford it, so I'll get it when I can be bothered. Ull have to get some for u when ur paid"
So I can't use any of them?
See what I mean!! Grrrrr! I hate him I really do!

Sorry for the rant :(

CP1299 · 06/08/2014 08:21

Ian Have fun!!! This cycle I am going without the OPKs. My LH surge the last few times were on day 11 and day 12 so going for the every other day option around the time. Can't cope with every day!! Hahaha.

Cupcake92 · 06/08/2014 08:12

I can't wait to pack my hospital bag Confused wonder when I can get away with doing it without looking like a wierdo!

Cupcake92 · 06/08/2014 07:08

I'd deffo change consultant if they don't support my decision then :)

Ducky that'll be lovely to have ur midwife there for the birth :) id love it if mine were there as I know she'd lovingly shout me through it haha!

I can't believe its DS's 1st birthday a week today :( can't believe a years gone already. Far too quick!
I also have my midwife appt 2 weeks today! :D yay!

Ducky23 · 06/08/2014 06:39

Cupcake I think it depends on your consultant, mine can be a bit of a push over lol! But id say change consultant if they won't support you.

Lulu I see my midwife at the gp surgery, a lot of the time at the hospital I see te same midwife too (but not my midwife), luckily I wa allowed to hand pick a lot of my care providers, it will also be arranged that my mw is there when I give birth due to some awful treatment I received last time I gave birth

LuluJakey1 · 05/08/2014 23:15

I think it is just luck at the hospital whether or not the one you see is on duty when you give birth. She said she could be. She is very nice, the few times I have met her.

Cupcake92 · 05/08/2014 23:05

Lulu I see my midwife at my doctors surgery. I only see her for appointments she won't be there when I give birth. But she will do my home visits once baby is born :)

LuluJakey1 · 05/08/2014 22:22

At the hospital clinic I go to, you see a named midwife but not necessarily the one who will be there when you have the baby. Is that the same with you Ducky and Cupcake?

LuluJakey1 · 05/08/2014 22:18

Ducky He is like me; one minute he wants to know, the next he wants it to be a surprise. I think it would be easier to know for clothe and colours and things but then he said if we buy neutral things, we can use them next time whatever the next one is seems to have forgotten that conception, particularly at our age is not a given and might not happen

I can't believe that in two weeks this pregnancy will be half over. My friend who is 36 weeks says the second half seems longer.

Cupcake92 · 05/08/2014 22:10

Ooo good luck lulu!! :D I'm impatient too and will be having. A private scan at 16 weeks to find out Haha :p
Can't believe ur all reaching 20 weeks !!! That's crazy! I remember hearing about u all getting bfps !! Exciting!

Yes Ducky she's a nice one :) so hopefully she'll support me.
The consultants don't try and push things like that do they?

Ducky23 · 05/08/2014 22:04

Thanks guys Smile

Cupcake I hope she supports you in your decision! I found out the hard way that some of these health care people are bloody heartless and rude but your midwife is a nice one isn't she?

Good luck for the scan lulu! Grin Is DH bothered about finding out the sex? I'm just too impatient lol Grin

CP1299 · 05/08/2014 21:50

Lulujakey that is reassuring. My first op I had really large ones removed and then I had a second op as they had implanted endometrial tissue into the myomectomy scar- so basically this tissue was responding to the menstrual cycle too (scar endometrioma). Needed to have that removed. A few years after a laparoscopy ruled out endometriosis. Thank goodness as fibroids and endo would be too much!

I still have remaining fibroids though but all less than 2cm so they are leaving them alone. I was actually on the mirena to control my heavy periods (which it did although they never stopped completely) and not for contraception. Oh how I miss that mirena now!! This AF is hell.

But good luck with your scan. Very very exciting!! :-)

Cupcake92 · 05/08/2014 21:05

Ducky that's brilliant news!! Woo!!! Grin
And I hope ur midwife pushes for extra care! U need to feel looked after both u and baby. Sometimes they are so selfish :( but u keep pushing for that extra care u deserve it!

And so glad all these cramps seem normal!
Can't wait to see my midwife :) I'm just praying she'll support me in a VBAC and not push a csection on me :( I think that's what scares me the most about this pregnancy. I'm so scared that I might have to have a csection again. N with a newborn and DS I just won't be able to cope after. It's so painful and it ruined my birth experience and the first few weeks of my sons life, as I didn't feel myself and was depressed. I'm so determined to VBAC! I WILL do it!!!

LuluJakey1 · 05/08/2014 21:05

CP- that is nice of DH being so supportive.

You will feel better when you get a break from work.Less than two weeks isn't so long to wait! Are you going away?

I have fibroids as well but the consultant I see every year- after dodgy smear tests and treatment- tells me more than 50% of women have them by 35 and that figure just increases. I haven't had any treatment for them, they are small and don't cause me any problems.

It is my 20 week scan next week on Thursday. Not sure whether we want to know if it is a boy or girl. Don't mind- just want it to be healthy.

CP1299 · 05/08/2014 20:37

Ducky how exciting!!! My parents would love a grandson as they have 4 grand daughters!!! Hehe.

I don't care what I get. Just want one!

I knew I wouldn't be calm about TTC as I am a planner, very impatient and I like to have control over my life. And I have no real control about this. Also I have had operations for fibroids and still have them. Sigh.

DH is being wonderful though. Tries to keep my spirits up with silly jokes.

Trying to stay positive and look forward to my holiday in less than 2 weeks. I always feel grumpy during AF.

21questions · 05/08/2014 20:21

Ducky great news about your scan. How exciting!

Lulu thats so funny about the grandmas! I love hand knitted baby clothes I still have loads from when Dd was born, everyone was knitting for me.

Me good luck for tww. Lets keep our fingers crossed for the both of us Wink and Im sorry but I have already started symptom spotting (sorry) tmi but my boobs hurt so much which is the first symptom i noticed in my previous pregnancy

I am I know how you feel. Lots of my friends have babies now, I was the first of my group when I had Dd and now they are all catching up. I have been broody for yrs its taken me a long time to talk dh round.

iamdivergent · 05/08/2014 19:46
