The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hello Emily welcome to our little club that no one wants to be in. Pull up a pew and have a good old chat. We are lovely and swear a lot Grin

Hopefully you won't need to be here long but I'm so sorry about your beautiful little boy. Feel free to rant, say daft things (because we've all said or done it too!!!) or even have a little giggle at the swear word of the day.

Thinking of you - big hugs xx

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/07/2014 20:56

Lou re your ban facebook idea. I haven't been on there for weeks and was an avid multiple times a day user. It's helped me not knowing what everyone else is up to and to concentrate on me, my family and friends that matter

EmilyPinkOrBlue · 02/07/2014 20:55

Hi ladies I hope I can join? I tfmr on 22nd June due to a chromosome abnormality found by abnormalities on our 12 week scan and an amnio test. I was 16w5d when I gave birth to my gorgeous boy. I miss him so much and am dying to be pregnant again with my rainbow baby. Still currently bleeding from the tfmr but looking forward to my next af. I am all prepared with cb ovulation sticks which helped us concieve our angel. I haven't experienced mc but I've felt the same loss I hope you don't mind x

Lou07708 · 02/07/2014 18:55

treacle don't feel you have to go. If I was her I wouldn't expect you there.
Ladies, along with not POAS until 14 dpo, may I suggest we ban Facebook. I know it's addictive and part of most peoples daily life, but it's just setting ourselves up for pain in a time where we don't need it. Be kind to yourself x

greysar I know what you mean, I've a friend who told me her little one was IVF. Totally understanding towards her. Normal conceived baby - for some reason I just fail to feel happy for them. It's almost like I only feel happy for people who have felt pain and struggle. How messed up is that?!! Bringing that up in counselling next week and will report back my findings!!!

Marmaladecat1 · 02/07/2014 18:35

I'm with you boozle!
Your description of pissing on sticks as a grown up had me laughing!
I had a similar conversation with my DS, who is most confused about chicken eggs we eat and eggs that hatch!

Triplespin · 02/07/2014 17:36

Hello just marking my place as well on the new thread. I am a lurker as I have been on this thread for over a year - far too long.

Treacle - sorry that you are feeling low. I have avoided so many friends with two kids for similar reasons. Hope you friend will be a bit more reasonable and sensitive towards your feelings.

Treaclepie19 · 02/07/2014 17:34

Sorry to just jump on ladies.
Im in tears again :(
My friend has posted pictures of the nursery she has decorated for her son due in august.

I'm seeing her tonight for her birthday and really don't want to go now.
I know I'm a horrible friend for saying that but I can't bear listening to them talk about it non stop.

greysar · 02/07/2014 17:05

Metalhead, I'm similar- I was due late August, and with my long (and irregular) cycles I've probably got one more ovulation to go before then. It'll really hurt if I'm not pregnant by my due date!

My sis-in-law is due to give birth in a week; she is firmly hidden on my facebook feed! On the other hand- a colleague of mine gave birth last week. She had a MMC about 18 months ago, and has a DH with rubbish swimmers, so I could not be happier for her- hypocritical much?!

Lou07708 · 02/07/2014 16:50

Ah, ladies I hadn't even thought about that. My due date was November but thinking about it, I would be pretty upset and I think it's only natural to be. It puts added pressure and whilst that probably isn't good, I can't see how you couldn't not think about it as a goal, fingers x to all.
Sitting here, I actually feel like AF is coming into town. I am only on CD 19 but really niggly cramp and general blurgh feeling.
If she does come then I on the wine for a few days!!! Every cloud and that!

Hope26 · 02/07/2014 16:45

My due date was oct.. Ah ladies we will be pg soon, dunno about before our due dates though .. Winter will be hard to get through without our bubbas.

Metalhead · 02/07/2014 16:41

Another one here who would have been due in September... I have long cycles too so everything just seems to take forever. I only have two more chances to conceive before my due date with the baby I lost, and don't know what I'll do if I'm not pregnant by then. (Probably have a complete meltdown!)

broodylicious · 02/07/2014 16:19

dulcet I had that type of ache too. It was really uncomfortable and niggly more than anything. I hope it wears off for you soon.

tomorrow I was due in September too and know what you mean about being upduffed again before then. You don't sound insensitive to me, I completely understand what you mean. I had to wait about eight months to fall pg with our dd but then caught first time round (after just three TITHs!) with the bubba I mc at the end of February. Here's hoping your stay here won't be long and your BFP is just round the corner.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 02/07/2014 14:55

can I join please?

I have DD aged 2 who was conceived v quick - the second month of being off the pill. Then we started trying again in December and I was pregnant inside a month.

But then I miscarried in january and since then no luck.

I really really wanted to be pregnant and past the first 12 weeks before september (when i would have been due) but now I'm passed that.

I am absolutely knackered and looking at it for a symptom but still a week away from being due. But the truth is that I have been away with work and up at 4.30 twice this week so being knackered and miserable is much more likely to do with that than pregnancy hormones.

I know it seems stupid (and apologies if it seems insensitive to people who have had long waits), give the time some people wait but the last two pregnancies were so fast (faster than I wanted at the time) that 4 months seems like a lifetime.

Colleague just announced his wife is 13 weeks pregnant. I know she MC just before Christmas.

Hope26 · 02/07/2014 14:54

I have AF type cramps.. I think it's on it's way anytime now. Due tomorrow unless my body is messed up after mc... I hope it doesn't come!

Lou07708 · 02/07/2014 14:27

Oh yes and somebody fetch a fish and slap me. Thinking about POAS 7dpo. Wtf!

Lou07708 · 02/07/2014 14:26

Rant. The preggas one at work whose bump practically touches my arm from 9-5 weekdays just had ANOTHER asos delivery. Another uptake of amazing maternity frocks for her. Meanwhile my belly jiggles for nothing!

DulcetMoans · 02/07/2014 14:24

I have a pain in my back/kidney area. Anyone experience of that after MC? Not sure if its coincidence or not. It's on the right where baby was and it's like a constant ache. Might have nothing to do with it.

You little one sounds very wise boozle, what a cutie! Awkward conversation though, hard enough explaining ovulation to DH!

Seems to be the time for the announcements for everyone then. All the new year babies... bastards

At work listening to sad songs. Not a good idea, I know.

wiltingfast · 02/07/2014 12:52

just marking my place! more of a lurker than a contributer I'm afraid Blush, had a mc in May. Am on cd 29 (I think, was the wtf cycle, spotted for maybe 5 days before full on af arrived horribly for another 5]but only 11 dpo.

Bit confused on whether I should count first day of spotting as cd1 Confused?

Anyway, hoping for lots of bfps for you all this month

Thanks
Boozle80 · 02/07/2014 11:18

That and I've probably given her the misconception for life that you need to pee on sticks when you're a grown up for no apparent reason. Bollocks, didn't think of that - I should have made up an answer like it tells you how well you've brushed your teeth or something...

Boozle80 · 02/07/2014 11:02

Marmalade you are not an idiot, you are exactly like me and I am not an idiot. Or at least I don't think I am. I really don't want to be one anyway so let's just say the rest of the world are fucktards instead. I'm good with that!

I had to explain ovulation to my four year old who caught me peeing on a stick this morning - she gave me a cuddle told me I was being 'ridiculous' and told me that if another rotten egg comes out (AF) then she'll use her pocket money to get me some from the farm because they're always really fresh. I tried to describe the differences between human and chicken eggs and then decided I'd rather think that too! As her leaving shot she added they weren't good sticks anyway, the ones we use to play Pooh sticks were real sticks. I need to get a lock in the bathroom door...

Monten · 02/07/2014 10:43

BLLLEEERUGH. what is wrong with people?! Sorry if anyone on here did something like that but……when did we all get so ego centric about personal announcements? It just seems so me me me to make a big song and dance about it.

I’m not advocating we go back to the days of confinement when women hid their pregnancies but……I do think there is something to be said for keeping some things private. My mum was horrified when she heard the sorts of things people put on Facebook (she’s only just on email bless her)

Metalhead · 02/07/2014 10:28

I suppose I should be grateful all my baby friends already have #2, at least those who were going to have more than 1, so I've not had to endure the Facebook bomb onslaught...

Mrsm14 · 02/07/2014 10:05

Bleurgggghhhhh

broodylicious · 02/07/2014 09:53

My NCT pal announced her pregnancy to the world via Facebook this morning - pic of her son stood in his cot, which had an "eviction notice" on it, saying please vacate soon as the cot is required for a new inhabitant in January 2015.

Better than a pic of her womb but bleurgh.

Mrsm14 · 02/07/2014 09:40

Oh - and my husband used end of loo roll and stuck a roll of kitchen towel in the bathroom instead. Grrrr.
