The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Oooooohhhh what symptoms do we have and when will we know either way??

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 22:33

That is brilliant. I wholly with that OH and not walking etc!

Oh boozle symptom spotting is just hideous. I would give you a salmon except you will need to give it straight back to me because I am symptom spotting too!

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 20:50

I will of course have a word with evolution about the WTF cycle. How do we feel about some form of switch which makes our OH's have to dtd when our pee is the colour of ovulation? Otherwise they can't walk properly?

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 20:45

I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot. I. Will. Not. Symptom. Spot.

If I write it enough it may be true! Slap me with a Salmon please!

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 20:44

Hi all, well I survived. My lovely parents fed me lots and kept me topped up on shandy!
Sorry it sounds not a great day here.
The wtf cycle has a lot to answer for! boozle please advise evolution to be rid of it? Also that game cracked me up,

treacle I moan here a lot! Please don't feel bad!

broody oh my word this morning the pain on my right side was hideous! I also have had the shooting internal up your bits pain at random intervals recently.

I am still no closer to working out what is going on with me :(

sebsmummy1 · 12/07/2014 19:28

Let's just hope not for the both of us.

I went into Wilkos to get some ov strips and there was a menopause test there. I nearly bought it but I read the instructions and you have to take the test the first week of your period - it measures you FSH levels. Then I thought what if I buy it and it's positive. That's just going to make me feel suicidal so thankfully I left it on the shelf.

So I did my opk strip tonight and the line is strong but not as strong as the control. So either the monitor was right and my surge was yesterday evening, or the line will be stronger tomorrow. I suspect the monitor will be correct unfortunately Sad

Metalhead · 12/07/2014 18:38

I hope it's not that for you sebs!

Hopefully whatever my body is doing this month won't be a repeat of last year's WTF cycle, where I thought I'd ov'd but hadn't and ended up with an 82-day cycle...

sebsmummy1 · 12/07/2014 16:49

How weird Metal. I have bought some strip opks from Wilko so will keep testing. I have had watery CM this cycle, tiniest bit of EWCM whereas normally I get a lot. There again for me lots of EWCM rarely ends in a pregnancy so maybe this weird cycle is a good sign.

Every time something screws up I just assume Perimenopause, which is fucking depressing.

Metalhead · 12/07/2014 15:34

Hi ladies, sounds like a few of us are having weird cycles this month - count me in on that!

I was expecting to get a +opk sometime this weekend and yesterday had one where the line was nearly as dark as the control line. No ewcm or ov pains though, so I thought today I'd get a proper positive, which for me is usually much darker than the control line. However, today I've got ewcm, ov pains and the opk didn't have a line at all! So now I don't know whether yesterday was my positive for this month, or whether I'm having a longer cycle again and am yet to ovulate. Guess I'll just have to keep on testing and dtd eod until AF arrives...

broodylicious · 12/07/2014 14:59

I feel much better now I've punched Gove a few times Wink that's awesome, I'm going to share it on Facebook!

It is possible I could be more than 8dpo yes. Think I'm just going to have to wait this out and step away from any sticks I could pee on. Chuff knows what my body is up to these days!

Treaclepie19 · 12/07/2014 14:11

ha I love that link!!!

Currently deciding whether to go to a friends house for a mini festival or stay in with DH, order pizza and drink wine.

I think I want to stay in but I know they will be disappointed. Ho hum.

broody sounds a good symptom!

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 13:06

That's awesome! I will keep that up in my next staff meeting! Xx

Justonemoretime · 12/07/2014 12:48

Boozle, and all other teachers, enjoy

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 12:35

I blame Gove!

Justonemoretime · 12/07/2014 12:34

Do you think there's a causal link? :/

DulcetMoans · 12/07/2014 12:14

Any chance you are further than 8dpo broody? Not sure if you would get positive ov stick because of pg that early so maybe you are further dpo than you thought or WTF cycle means you are oving now. Not much help I'm afraid...!

There are so many teachers on conception boards! I work in education but not a teacher. Academic year planning can make things harder.

broodylicious · 12/07/2014 12:06

I think right now boozle, I'd be peeing for your monitor every hour lol! Haha! Funny how it becomes totally consuming so quickly. Only dtd once this month but it was around the time I was oving so if I am pg, it'll be so flippin lucky. God I'm so neurotic!

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 11:38

Yup, I think I'll stay put too - the devil you know and all that. It just seems shit sorting stuff out for next September when I was only meant to be there for two weeks! I'm also debating going full time as opposed to training in philosophy for children but then I think I'm just umming and arring because I've got nothing better to do ATM!

It does sound positive Marmalade try again on Monday maybe? Mondays a long time away though!

I'm terrible at waiting to POAS I do them the day after I ov! I've now got a CBfM which does pregnancy tests too and only let's you do it from 12 dpo so that's keeping me strong at the mo!

broodylicious · 12/07/2014 11:23

Good luck for today marm and so sorry to hear you have an episode of SPD. I had that with dd and it was agony - turning over in bed and going up stairs was excruciatingConfused

treacle, you do not ever need to apologise or feel bad for moaning! We are all here for you, through the good, bad and ugly! Xxx

Well, I'm totally confuzzled. I'm 8dpo and I feel sick. Proper sick. After my definite but pale line on the ov stick yday, I did another this morning. I got another pale but definite line. Fuck. What should I do?!?! Arrrrgh I hate reading when people poas too early but right now, I just want to go to boots and buy a pg test!!!!

broodylicious · 12/07/2014 11:16

Fertile Wednesdays and weekly AF sounds like a great plan to me! And defo the pee colour change. Can you imagine the hassle it would remove? Oh ladies, we can dream....!

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 11:11

Right I'm off to a picnic surrounded by pg people and the weather won't make it's bloody mind up!

Marmaladecat1 · 12/07/2014 11:10

I am too scared to see another bfn I didn't get a faint line yesterday boozle I'm due tomorrow according to calculations on my app. My last 2 cycles have been the same day. So could will test tomorrow. Had weird cm last few days which means (according to google) I'm pg, I'm not pregnant or I OV. More waiting- my favourite!

Weird the cbfm is giving you peaks when not expected. I haven't used one so can't help sadly :(

Treaclepie19 · 12/07/2014 10:57

Thanks ladies.

Yeah just that's what im thinking. I'll just stay put. At least it's nearly the summer holiday.

I am going to spend the day in the garden. Trying to make it as pretty as possible :)

Justonemoretime · 12/07/2014 10:44

You ladies are funny! :)
Sorry to hear some of you are struggling, hope you're bodies start to behave and good things start happening.
A word on changing jobs; I was properly caught out last pg because I was appointed in April for a September start and, because we're all academies round here, I lost all entitlement to mat pay. If the pregnancy had progressed it would have cost me about £8000 in lost mat benefits. It was obviously more important that baby was ok, but it was a very stressful time. I felt like I'd been flug back into the 1950s. I know money isn't everything, but its worth thinking about, especially since, in teaching, you're employed months before you start work.

Boozle80 · 12/07/2014 10:32

I have the same issue Treacle. Although I reckon any school I go to under Gove is going to be pretty shitty! Moan away! I certainly do, it's so the rest of the world still think we're normal, rational human beings!
