The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Welcome mrsglitter anyone welcome, we take all sorts here Smile. Sorry you find us here though and good luck for af this weekend, lets hope your stay is brief!

Congrats river that’s amazing news.

Sorry to hear that treacle - that really is just what you need isnt it Sad. I swear I haven’t felt truly well or on top form since the mc, it’s just not what you need on top of everything else. Take care of yourself.

oneday he really can JTFO. And FTFO. I feel like I have come to terms with the miscarriage, it wasn’t meant to be. What causes me distress is thinking it might happen again. So comments like that are not helpful.

Ladies – I have been thinking about this TTC business and I have found a way of thinking about it that makes it less painful for me. Each month I don’t get pregnant I get really angsty, thinking I have ‘missed’ the egg and somehow my body isnt working right. But I’ve decided to try and think of it like this: we are born with thousands of eggs, more than we will ever need. And for good reason, they aren’t all going to be perfect eggs. Miscarriage is more common even than we think it is, with fertilised eggs just failing to implant because something is wrong with them, so the body just rejects them. Sadly, that doesn’t always happen and it gets realised much later, which is what then ends up in what we know and experience as a miscarriage. So rather than thinking of not getting pregnant as my body NOT working, I have decided to try and think of it as my body working just fine. Doesn’t help much with my fear about my dodgy eggs, but there we go. We’ll see how long this new approach lasts! I thought I would share in case helpful to others, apologies if it upsets anyone.

Thank you ladies. I have got a cream and pessary.
Hopefully will do the trick. I'm so uncomfortable :/ as it's making it difficult to wee I just thought uti.

Anyway, oneday that is definitely a JTFO!!!
What an idiot.

Welcome Mrsglitter :)

RiverRocks · 22/07/2014 12:54

Thanks for the congratulations everyone. I've called the Drs and asked them to make a note, going to give it a couple of days then speak to the midwife, I think.

Oneday - I had that from the anaesthetist when I was waiting for my ERPC. This was preceded by 'how far along are you'. Er, I'm not, daft cow that's why I'm in the f*ing hospital! I managed to stay polite, but did consider putting in a complaint against her.

Welcome Glitter, this is an ongoing thread, so never too late to join. Sad you're joining us, but the ladies here are all very supportive Thanks

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/07/2014 12:23

Fucking hell Oneday, what an absolute knob!! I'd have said something! Comments like that are far from helpful!!! TWAT!!!

Of course it's not too late to join Glitter!! Welcome to our motley crew! So sorry for your loss. Fx you won't have to stay with us too long, but if you do, the ladies here are a wealth of knowledge and support. Good luck! Smile

Morning/afternoon all,

How are you doing hope and boozle?

Oh treacle poor you. As frustrating as it is, definitely avoid dtd for now, the last thing you want to do is make it worse.

Just a quick message as I haven't read back properly. Hope we're all doing okay. A Dr at work today was trying to make me feel better after we were talking about MC but came out with 'You might even have another 5 miscarriages in a row before a healthy pregnancy/baby but it's just one of those things'. That's great. Thanks very much. Definitely one for the JTFO list! Grrr!

MrsGlitter · 22/07/2014 12:09

Is it too late to join this thread? I had a MC 2nd June, one short period (passed the remaining few clots etc) and now I'm due AF this Sunday. Trying for our first. Shunt me off the thread (or ignore me!) if I'm too late to join in!

EnglishGirlsReturned · 22/07/2014 12:00

Congratulations River! That's wonderful! I'd call the Drs asap and get this pregnancy on the system. Then try to relax.

Oh Treacle, poor you! I've only had thrush once! Awful!!

I'm supposedly 2dpo and had a load of ewcm!! Now thinking maybe my body geared up for ov and didn't actually do it and is now trying again! Hmm. Gonna go poa opk. And pounce dh later just in case

I've not had it before so just assumed the burning was a uti starting out. Anyway, got my cream. Does it work quickly?
I'm guessing this means no more dtd :/ why at ovulation time???

broodylicious · 22/07/2014 11:15

Woohoo river!! Congrats to you!!

Treaclepie19 · 22/07/2014 10:58

Hope26 · 22/07/2014 10:52

Seasides · 22/07/2014 09:51

RiverRocks · 22/07/2014 09:19

Morning ladies,

Very excited to read about all the BFPs whilst I've been away!

Monten I think you were very brave. I unexpectedly met an old friend who was very heavily pregnant a couple of weeks ago and I literally not figuratively, honest ran away. Luckily, we were in a group and she didn't seem to notice.

So, for my honeymoon I took the super sensitive early response HPTs, and tested from the day before AF was due. BFN, so DH (eek! Grin) and I enjoyed a week of alcohol and cheeses, and I praised my hayfever tablets every day.

Was 4 days late, which is very unlike me, but still BFN on the 10 miu. Ran out of 10miu, so decided to try a 20miu - BFP straight away! Now, I'm so scared! I don't know how I feel about it - do I get excited, or do I just ignore it until I get a bit further on? Confused

Treaclepie19 · 22/07/2014 08:22

marmalade, I'm so sorry you're struggling and know exactly how you feel. Big hugs. We're here when you need us.

monten, that is exactly it! Here's what you could've won. Too true.
DH doesn't understand it either. I think he thinks I'm being horrible and jealous.

Last night we had a tiff over dtd because of my infection and he doesn't see the problem not trying. Its only one month... Grr.

Got my own way at least.

Monten · 22/07/2014 08:16

Oh Marma I hope you're okay. Remember you will have good days and bad days and you will not feel this way forever, that I can guarantee you. Sometimes a break is good though. We will all still be here if you feel like coming back. Good luck and big hugs, I hope AF or BFP arrive shortly.

Lou I hope your first day back is okay, I get terrible post-holiday blues, so I sympathise your return will be compounded by seeing preggas lady. Make sure you mention how much amazing red wine you drank and soft cheese and pate you ate.

broody yes I work in PR and can tell you know exactly what I mean. Everyone was very very EXCITED.

I've been trying to describe to DP how it feels, jealousy is there but it's more bittersweet than that. And then I remembered that gameshow Bullseye! When they showed the contestants all the prizes they could have won. It's like that.

Marmaladecat1 · 22/07/2014 07:57

Hi all.
I'm going have a few days off the thread.
I'm going loopy POAS every day, recording info on the ovia app and crying most days too.
I don't think I can take much more.
I'll come back in a bit

Marmaladecat1 · 22/07/2014 07:13

Hi all
Hope you are ok hope
monten that took some serious bulls, that was really brave.
How are the rest of you?

I have nothing to report but more BFN's and not AF in sight.
I am sick of looking and squinting for lines!
Wish something would happen!

Hope26 · 21/07/2014 22:58

Thank you ladies I hope it's the dildo cam. I think I'm going crazy with paranoia.

Monten I agree with broody you are a legend!! it's so hard hearing about people who have it easy and pop out so many babies when we are struggling to have one! God knows best and out time will come!!

broodylicious · 21/07/2014 22:48

hope, I'm praying that everything is ok but just to second that it was probably the dildo cam that could've irritated your cervix and it's probably nothing to worry about xxx

monten you're an absolute legend. I just can't imagine I'd have been able to stick it out and listen to that excited babble that you only hear when people bring out diamond rings or scan pics. Am I right in thinking you work in PR, like me? If the client is anything like my clients and your team is anything like the teams I've worked with at previous agencies, you have my utmost respect. For life! Xx

Treaclepie19 · 21/07/2014 22:47

Try not to worry hope, like the ladies have said. I know it's hard.

How are you boozle?

Hope26 · 21/07/2014 22:39

Thank you ladies!! Spoke to the nhs direct and the lady said a out of hours gp will contact me. I missed his call!!! He left a voicemail and said he will ring back. I think you are right.. As long as its not red and I'm not in severe pain it should be okay.. I'm hoping it will go. Don't understand the brown discharge though its getting darker

Boozle80 · 21/07/2014 22:34

Oh Hope sorry I missed your post before. Apparently in all pregnancy but especially early pregnancy the cervix can bleed a bit if irritated. It's because the hormones do something I think. They warn you that if you have sex it may well happen and not to worry. Brown and pink is ok, it's only if it's bright red and coupled with bad cramps that there maybe a problem - as you can tell I've been researching this lots recently!

Try not to worry, although that's impossible I know! Big hugs and much love xx

Monten · 21/07/2014 21:51

Oh hope it must be so worrying for you but try not to panic. It's perfectly normal to spot during early pregnancy. I know it must be so so hard. Sending you lots of positive vibes.

boozle it is exactly like the world slows down. And this weird sliding doors feeling, looking at someone and thinking 'that could have been me'.

just am very jealous of your zen-ness forgetting when af is due! If only! Fingers crossed for you!!
