Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Hi lovebugs! According to my opk instructions you test between 10-8 but so the aw time each time you test. I did mine at 5.30pm when got in from work. Apparently you have surge of hormones when u wake up so could be misleading I you tested then. I am cd17 but I think if no bfp this month I will test from cd7 :) af not due til 17th October for me so just got a long wait now!

Lovebugs2014 · 03/10/2014 22:49

Great news wanttobe! Hope it works and you have the first BFP of October! I'm just coming to the end if AF so hoping to start testing with ovulation kits from tomorrow but am also confused about when to test...really hope I ovulate soon as we will be DTD from tomorrow every two days just to be sure! Fx for you all xx

Hello all! I have an update.

Took opk for first time today and it very strong positive! Way stronger than the test line. Unfortunately DH away until Sunday, but we have dtd last Saturday and Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Will dtd on Sunday too to be sure, if I can persuade DH (he is getting tired and I think a little bored of my already obsessiveness!) I think I will ov tomorrow, or tonight, not realy sure as I havent done any other opks til today. Had definite lots EWCM - what I thought was EWCM was definitely not! All I can say is that you will know it when you see it!!

Fx we have done enough, I should be due to test 15-17 October. In the tww now!

Hope evryone else doing ok :)

Hi girls .. On cd 4 today so went out and bought a cb digital opk.. Bit confused though as every thread I've read about opk's say to test in the early afternoon but the cb clearly says to use fmu Confused they were rather expensive and I don't want to waste them testing at the completely wrong time of day, what's your take on this ladies ? Xx

Lovebugs2014 · 02/10/2014 21:32

Sorry to hear that Freedom but try not to panick, there are lots of options either NHS or private to explore and it only takes one sperm out of millions each time you DTD! Good luck with the tests and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx

Lovebugs2014 · 02/10/2014 21:28

Sorry meant *depo!

Freedom40 · 02/10/2014 21:28

So got some bad news today. DH got test results back. Everything above normal except amount of healthy sperm. Should be 4% but is 2%. Not bad but makes things tougher. An eye opener had no idea that of all the swimmers produced you only need 4% to conceive. GP referring us to fertility clinic to see what my status is. Private medical only covers test to find put what's wrong not any treatment so I'm slightly panicking. Fitsy consultation is £175 then who knows after that. What a nightmare

Lovebugs2014 · 02/10/2014 20:48

Welcome Mrsjordan, sorry I can't be any help on the repo question but if you switched to the pill then you're likely to be in the same boat as the rest of us in here who have come off it and are seeing what our bodies do! I think it's a wait and see game as everybody is so different-my philosophy is to DTD every 2 days when not on AF and once AF has finished do ovulation kits every day to try and figure out when I'll be ovulating, fx for you x

mrsjordan · 01/10/2014 20:53

Hi,
First time on here and first time ttc. My husband and I have just got married and have decided to try. Having been on the depo for 4 years I came off 2 years ago and went on the pill. Heard lots of bad stuff about depo since and am wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experience?

Thank you.

kiay131982 · 01/10/2014 19:22

Thanks guys! Fingers crossed it is just stress, we moved into our new house at the beginning of August so lots of people have said it could have been stress.... I'm willing to go with that it just baffles me as I've moved house over 15 times and I went through a bad breakup and divorce and all the stress related to that and never once missed a bleed so it feels like this has really come out of the blue!
Stressed about it now though!! :D

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 01/10/2014 17:28

Hi Kiay I had a similar thing when on the pill - I got spotting 2 weeks befre my withdrawal was due (so only 1.5weeks after I had just had a withdrawal) then no proper withdrawal until 2 weeks after it was due and normally like clockwork on the pill! But all tests were negative. I put it down to stress at the time as we were in process of buying our first house, I was sitting an exam and work was stressful. Was weird though I know! Fx things get back to normal soon :)

Lovebugs2014 · 01/10/2014 16:52

Sorry to hear Kiay is having a difficult time too! Not sure what's going on if you were expecting AF - stress can affect it or maybe it's just being late with all the hormones changing etc. it's horrid when you feel you need to have a period abd have the symptoms but it doesn't come...hang in there. Welcome nota monkey, exciting times you are trying earlier than you both expected, fx for you.

notamonkeysuncle · 01/10/2014 16:17

Hi all
Today I took my last pill. It was a bit of a shock to me as DP and I have been talking for a while about another baby and we have previously agreed to wait until new year. Today he asked me if I was ready to stop Grin

Downside is I have PCOS so could take a while but ready to give it ago

Katewright699 · 01/10/2014 15:45

Hi freedom.. I will probably go with the lots of Dtd approach when I know it's near the time as with with 2 ds's already it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss ! Just ordered some midstream opk's from eBay which appear a bit easier to use so we shall see ! And weren't overly expensive 7.00 for 20

kiay131982 · 01/10/2014 14:01

Hi, I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience to me or can offer any help. Ive been on the pill for 17 years apart from when I had my three children. The youngest is now 7. My new partner and I decided we are going to try for a child of our own, I was going to come off the pill next month. However, I had my usual withdrawal bleed on the 15th August, then took the next packet. On the 12th Sep I expected to bleed again after my pack and nothing happened! Thats never happened to me before!
I went to the doctor as I hadnt had my bleed but I felt awful with all the PMT symptoms that I usually only get for one day - plus painful cramps. He said as we were going ttc soon anyway to come off the pill and let my body have the bleed it obviously wants.
But still nothing!! :( Ive now had nearly three weeks of constantly feeling like I'm coming on, always dashing to the loo, my tummy hurts, my nipples are sore but nothing is happening! Has anyone else ever missed withdrawal bleeds like this?! I've tested a few times to make sure I'm not pregnant and they have all been definite negatives!! Whats going on??
I'm so upset that literally weeks before we planned to start trying that my body goes haywire! :(

Freedom40 · 01/10/2014 13:34

So did clearblue and they are hit and miss. Due to cost im taking the dtd every 3 days approach given swimmers are alive for 2 to 3 days. Have not used pre concep lube but this might be a good addition as well. It also not good for your DH to not get rid of supplies ever 3 to 5 days so you have equally quality swimmers in place.

Katewright699 · 01/10/2014 10:30

Same here lovebugs I was in in agony last night with the cramps and even had a dodgy belly !!!! But at least it's here and we can start looking forward Grin I'm driving myself mad trying to decide what tests to use as I want to start testing after I'm finished as well because I don't want to miss any potential fertile windows !!! But I don't want to buy loads of clearblue tests as they are bloody expensive and you only get 7-10 in a pack and in theory we could be testing for 20 days if we don't ov until late in the cycle Confused I have some internet cheaply strips already but am worried they won't work because they were cheap !! Lol arrrrggghhhh someone slap me I'm driving myself cranky over here

Lovebugs2014 · 01/10/2014 09:54

Super news Kate! This has been the heavies AF since I was about 16 and got the bloatedness, cramps and backache to go with!! Hoping it only lasts a few days as I get low in iron as it is without having heavy AF's! But really i'm so pleased it's here and now thinking maybe to start on the opk tests once AF stops as I really don't want to miss any potential fertile days...May have to do the tests at work which will be a right pain or late at night, say 7/8pm when I get home!Smile

Katewright699 · 01/10/2014 09:28

Hiya ladies :) I have also started my first proper AF yesterday lovebugs !!! Looks like we're in this together lol... I was going to ask the exact same question as I was wondering if it's better to start testing a little earlier than they suggest because I'm not sure how long my cycles are going to be now after coming off the pill... They were always 28 days before but not sure if they will be now Confused

Lovebugs2014 · 30/09/2014 22:05

Does anyone know when I could start testing for ovulation if I buy the kits now? I take it I won't be doing them whilst on AF?!

Katewright699 · 30/09/2014 07:54

Definelatly a good sign lovebugs that your body is getting back into a rhythm :) and you can start testing for ovulation properly now and hit the mark Wink good luck hun x

Lovebugs2014 · 30/09/2014 07:41

Well definitely spoke too soon about having a light AF! It's certainly not now and something I'm not use to after years of having very light AF's when on the pill...but I'm taking it as a good sign that my body is getting rid of what it needs to before ovulation etc! Sorry for TMI here!

Lovebugs2014 · 29/09/2014 21:38

I certainly know what you are feeling like Kate! Felt the same when I tested and it was BFN, hubby tried to keep perspective by saying we have only been trying a couple of weeks and I know that but once we made the decision to try after having to wait the last couple of years due to work/study commitments I really want this so bad! I'm nearly the last in my friends and family to have a baby so really ready for this now!

Katewright699 · 29/09/2014 19:33

Also no line at all on the opk not even a faint one... Nada ! But am trying very very hard to be patient and wait for something to happen either way Wink xx

Katewright699 · 29/09/2014 19:29

Nice to meet you lovebugsSmile.... It's so hard not to let the whole ttc thing take over your whole life isn't it... Even though I know it's very early days and Im highly unlikely to be pregnant atm but the feeling of sheer disappointment when that second line is a no show is quite overwhelming even if you are pretty much expecting it Confused
