Ive read another thread with interest about ttc after the pill & saw that a couple of posters were about to stop their bc pills so thought a new thread might be in order!
Im getting married in August & currently finishing my last packet of Yasmin. Excited & nervous all at the same time!

So who's with me?

Xx

Evening ladies

I'm going to gatecrash onto your thread if that's ok! I'm about to take my last BC pill tomorrow morning - arrrrgh! I'm 33 and thinking that the time is kinda right to find out if we can grow a little person.

Kind of scary thinking about it, all the usual things of "Am I ready?", "Will it happen straight away?" Won't it happen straight away?" etc are already in my head and hence the reason I'm on here.

Loaded up and ready to start recording temperature and pee on many sticks, for me if I can make it scientific it'll help my own sanity, although I feel I have to say this doesn't refer to DTD - "proceed at a 30 degree angle" Grin

Excited to see what will happen but also anxious because I don't know what is going to happen, if you see what I mean!

My biggest scary monsters part is going to be giving up the caffeine... Sad

catnip85 · 24/07/2014 17:54

Might just do that, my tempings all over the shop!

Siarie · 24/07/2014 10:14

If you girls aren't using OPK's to monitor your LH surge you should, it was the best thing for me. After taking BC which stopped me ovulating (the whole purpose of my pill) I was keen to see that happen again.

With my OPK's it meant I know for sure I ovulated along side temping my BBT which confirmed it. That means that I know AF must come or a BFP one way or the other and that my body is doing what it should be doing (even if it took a while this time to ovulate).

It's reassuring and I highly recommend it, doesn't take that much commitment but it stops you being stuck in limbo wondering what is going on xx.

Hello Ladies,

Sorry for the delay, I was just about to update you all. So my AF is due Wednesday and I am now 8/9 DPO. On the positive side I think I had implantation cramps yesterday. If it wasn't that then my body really is trying to fool me, I had a nice temp dip too which gives all the right signs for it.

So that means that HCG should now be pumping through my body and it will take a few days to double enough to be read on the most sensitive test. I really hope that I do get a BFP this weekend or the start of next week as I just feel like implantation was a key sign.

If it doesn't happen thats OK but I wish I didn't get the light cramps as that possibly means it didn't stick. I know my body well and I know when I'm being tricked. I know that anything before implantation is most likely your hormones and the change there. But implantation cramps I had that last time I was pregnant and I just know.

So right now I'm feeling positive, even If i don't get my BFP this cycle then I will be happy that I did my best and I get to drink wine and coffee.

I'm going to read back through all your posts now xx

catnip85 · 24/07/2014 07:11

No news from me im afraid AF still hasn't shown up and i haven't done another test yet, thought i might wait a wk or two and see how i feel. Sounds like were in the same boat justyouwait

weirdly though i still have a high bbt- nearly a degree higher than usual- 36.2 36.3 is about right and im getting 36.8-36.9 every day at the moment. Lots of cramping too. Does anyone know if changing vitamins can cause an increase in bbt? It happened about the same time i switched on to seven seas.

freedom and siarie how are you doing?

Justyouwaitandsee · 23/07/2014 20:53

So Freedom / Catnip - any sign of AF or BFP for either of you? Are you still waiting to test Freedom?

Still no AF and yet another BFN for me today. The wait continues!

Justyouwaitandsee · 22/07/2014 08:20

That's what we're here for! Still no AF for me but now hoping it will come soon as I at least want to know I'm back on a regular cycle.

I also bought some Conceive Plus last night. Lots of testimonials from people trying for months who then conceived within the first month of using CP. Anyone else trying this?

And just realised we a supposed to be on holiday with my family (with not much privacy) around the peak time next month...and the month after that we start risking a due date which collides with some important family and friends weddings next Summer! So much to think about, especially when you have no idea how long it is likely to take!

catnip85 · 22/07/2014 07:14

Aw thanks justyouwaitandsee it makes me feel better knowing that im not in this alone! So glad i have you lovely ladies to talk to

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 21:50

Ps. We're in this together catnip!

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 21:49

I just took another FR test and still a BFN. My DH asked "what did we do wrong?" Sad Still no AF, but am hoping that at least I might be able to confirm a regular 30 day cycle...(looking for a bright side!) I guess we wait for AF and look onwards to month 5!

catnip85 · 21/07/2014 20:38

PS- welcome to all you newbies!

catnip85 · 21/07/2014 20:36

Well it was a bfn for me this morn, although no AF yet either... Feel a bit disappointed but not too bad as wasn't really expecting my cycle to get back to normal for a few months. Today would be day 29

im taking seven seas ttc vitamins as ive heard they can help regulate things

ohlordyplordy · 21/07/2014 20:29

I took my last pill 4th July. Had a withdrawl bleed a few days later; awaiting real AF.
I've been on the pill over 10 years and was really irregular, so worried how long it's going to take to develop a cycle, if at all.
I'm 33 and this is our first time ttc.

BertieBotts · 21/07/2014 20:20

I've finished taking mine but we're not really trying yet. We need to get some tests done because DH has some genetic issues in his family, and it's taking ages to get the tests sorted out so condoms for now. However one leaked the other day and we haven't bothered to get MAP. Still, unlikely anything will come of one time.

I have a DS from a previous relationship but he was an accident Blush so not done the whole TTC thing before. It's exciting and I want them to hurry up and sort out the testing for us Grin

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 20:14

Oooh freedom & justyouwait sounds like you are both in with a chance! I think it's really hard ttc straight after the pill cos none of us know if af is truly late as in bfp or just taking her sweet time due to stopping the pill... I'm telling myself not to expect af for a few months and will try not to test until i have symptoms (or so she says right now...) Good luck everyone.

Yes I know, I have been trying to explain this to my OH! Luckily my O&G mum has already told me all about this in the past so I said that to him in the hope he might think it more beliveable ;)

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 19:31

Folic acid is very important as it reduces the risk of the baby having a neural tube defect. Only you need to take this. Neither my husband or I are taking any additional vitamins but I wouldn't skip the FC.

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 21/07/2014 19:25

Guess i should be on the lookout for folic acid then! my OH thinks we should just 'bump uglies and see what happens' he thinks the vitamins etc is a load of rubbish but I am trying to persuade him otherwise! My mum is an o&g but i dont want her to know we are thinking of trying just yet so annoying i cant ask her qns!

About us: I am 23, he 25, married for nearly a year :)

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 19:20

Hi wanttobeamummy and welcome! I would agree entirely with the advice of teachermummy2b - good to have you join our small but perfectly formed group!

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 19:13

Welcome wanttobeamummy! I only stopped the pill just over a week ago but started taking 'trying for a baby vitamins straight away. I like these as they come in a packet a bit like the pill with days on so i now take these at the same time I used to take my pill :). I think its recommended that you start taking folic acid 3 months before trying to conceive so it probably wouldnt be a bad idea for you to start now.

Justyouwaitandsee · 21/07/2014 19:10

Ooh freedom - I couldn't wait that long! Surely you can justify doing a test when you are that overdue?! These things do happen.

My AF is provisionally due today (day 28) but hasn't appeared as yet, and didn't come until Day 30 last month.

I got a negative result with a First Response on Saturday, going to leave it a day or so to see if AF comes, and if not will take another. I am limiting myself to two tests per month.

Don't feel much in the way of symptoms...

teachermummy2b · 21/07/2014 19:08

Ooh thanks billygoats thats good to know!

siarie lucky you not having to work!

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 21/07/2014 19:08

Hello can I hop on the bandwagon?

Haven't actually started TTC yet... but have decided that I will in 3 packets' time. Bit complicated for work/house/study reasons going to wait the 3 months. I am too excited though I want to start ttc now! Never have before, been on cilest for 7.5yrs. I hope I am fertile!

Are any of you taking supplements/did you before you stopped bc? I am thinking whether I should be taking folic acid now before I stop.

So excited to hear all your BFP news!

Billygoats · 21/07/2014 19:04

Hi , I'm not ttc but just dropping in to say I was on Yasmin and when I stopped was worried it would take a longtime to become regular and concieve, but I was pregnant the first month. So fingers crossed for you all your just as lucky. Good luck :)

Siarie · 21/07/2014 18:44

I'm 5/6dpo and knackered, I don't mean oh a yawn but carry on with life tired. I mean every move off the sofa feels like a challenge, I don't work so luckily I can just lounge around if need be.

Hoping for a BFP this weekend.
