Anyone else about to take the plunge and stop bc pills?

Just looking back to the start of the thread - have we had any recent updates from teachermummy, siarie or secretsquirrel?!

Hi freedom - I'll stick around! Will still want to celebrate with you all when you gets your own BFP. We can start a special 'taking the plunge' pregnancy thread as well, but it would be a bit lonely for me to set it up at the moment.

Might be worth remembering that this was my fourth month of trying, fifth since coming off the pill so I was a bit further down the road than most of you! Am sure you will all see those little lines very soon!!

Hi everyone! I'll join even though I'm not ttc, I've just come off the pill after being on it for 9 years (microgynon, before being replaced with rigevidon). I had more spotting at the end of my breakthrough bleed but other than that not noticed any difference, mind it's only pill-free-day 4! I'm 26 and would like to start ttc next summer (ish!) but I wanted my body to be pill free for a few months first. So DH and I will be using the withdrawal method for a few months! DH is broody already (he's a few years older) so if it happened in the mean time it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

Thanks Freedom, catnip and jane for your posts...i can only imagine what it's like to get the disappointment of a BFN and hoping that it doesn't take too long as practically all my friends and family have babies or are pregnant and I've wanted to be for a while but work/study commitments meant we have had to postpone until next month...I've discussed with my DH and we have compromised on me coming off the pill once I finish the pack I'm on now and will start actively trying from that day in about mid sept as both of us are worried about if I got pregnant abroad as I tend to get ill anyway with unusual food and different hygiene standards etc so feeling pleased we have a date and I can enjoy a few drinks on holiday and cut back more once we are home. lovebug id come off and use protection. Given my experience been on yasmin for 3 years and still waiting for Af

jane welcome and dont worru we are here to support and keep you company while we wait as well.

Nothing new here ladies. DH and I did a reality check and its only been a very long 3 months so we cannot complain but still annoying.

I'm sorry to hear that catnip I know how unpsetting it can be I had a BFN on Tuesday and still waiting AF to show so I can move on to trying again! Keep your chin up! :)

Was also going to say- i have nothing but respect for people who have been trying for years to get pregnant. Not sure how they cope with the disappointment and keep going. Ive only been trying two mths and here i am bitching about it!

It was a BFN as suspected, still disappointed and unreasonably grumpy towards poor DH though :(

Goodluck catnip & nextchapterabouttostart! Hope you both get a BFP :) I'm still waiting for AF it can't be to far away as I now have back aches and cramps.

Another thing to say, is that I am pretty sure that prior to the pill I had a regular 28 day cycle (although at 18 I admittedly didn't pay much attention) but since coming off the pill my cycles were around 30/31 days and periods were MUCH shorter and lighter (around 4 days)

Good luck Catnip, hello to everyone - I can test in two days, very unlikely but no AF from coming of the pill & my body is playing tricks with me as feel a bit something...which I hope is AF so then can get on with normal cycle & knowing at least when to try!

I appreciate you replying as well! I don't have much family support or anyone to talk to about it so it's comforting to come on here and talk to other people about it all

Oh well that's comforting to know hey! I read so many blogs where people say all the early signs they had I've had none and it's great to hear you say that! I only got off the pill in June and got my first real period on the 28th of July so I had hopped I was a 28 day cycle but nothing yet took a test today and got a BFN but still no period I feel like it's coming tho cramps feel like the normal ones I get. Best of luck tho to all those trying and congrats to all those who a BFP! Keep us updated on how you went and what symptoms you had

Well no AF for me so far. Im going to buy a test this eve. Keep yr fingers crossed for me ladies!

I've had literally nothing. I was really tired last week but I'd just finished a big project at work so put it down to that. No bleeding, no cramps. No sore boobs. I think everyone's different. I certainly wasn't expecting a BFP when I took the tests. Previous months I've sat and stared at the test, this time I was barely paying attention and then all of a sudden there was those two bright pink, unmistakable lines!

Thankyou! Justwaitandsee. Ok. Certain it's my AF - I just feel like we got in on all the right times but I've had no pergnancy symptoms or any implantation bleeding only cramp! Is that what you had? Congrats to you and the other ladies such exciting news :)

Hey Jane, don't give up! I still have no pregnancy symptoms and got my BFP. Others are saying they still have cramps like they're about to start AF anytime and also got their BFP. Still possible!

Sadly I think I'm out! I can feel cramps from AF coming :( ahhhh why is it so hard. Good luck to everyone else! Hope there are some BFP :)

Thanks katiebear I think that might be the way forward as I have no idea what I'll be like coming off the pill having been on it for 15 years! I'm looking forward to being pill free and letting my body sort itself out but hoping it doesn't take us too long to conceive as I am soooo broody! X

Gd luck jane, will keep fingers x'd for u. Love bugs it's hard if u defo can't b preg b4 June could u come off pill and use another method? It's so hard to know some fall immediately I came off pill in May and am having problems getting a regular cycle and wish I had come off it earlier!

I'm wondering if it will take a while to get a proper cycle once I stop the mini pill so thinking whether I should stop sooner rather than later? But then I heard a few of my friend got pregnant straight away after coming off the pill and with my work/study commitments I can't really have a due date before June...so many decisions!

Hi There! Is it ok if I join? I'm TTC#1 came off the pill after 10 years in June but got my first real period/cycle on July 28th so not sure how long my cycle will be but hopping for the best! Goodluck to everyone

Aww would love some of you to get your BFPs this month too. We have started a 'due in May' thread - two members of the group are both expecting their 5th! It doesn't feel the same without you guys, so will have to make sure I stick around on this thread too!

I have calculated that my EDD is 4th May (May the fourth be with you )
