Ttc after cerazette

Ok so I have read some real horror stories in respect of trying to conceive after cerazette and thought I would share my story or bore you all with my progress (or possible lack of haha)

So I stopped taking cerazette one week ago at the end of the last packet as me and my partner decided we would start Ttc.

First couple of days I had very light bleeding but felt fine then on the third day I started feeling bloated. To date I am still looking and feeling bloated, feel exhausted and have sore boobs and have been feeling very nauseous.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to conceive?

Thanks for reading :)

Thanks Keeper, I almost envy your two week wait as it seems you weren't really thinking too much about it. I should be 2 DPO today so I can't test until next week 9 whole days away!

Realistically it's not a long time but it so drags when you are are aware of it:)

Good news Siarie - fx for ov very soon!

Siarie · 17/07/2014 06:49

Whoops pressed enter too soon!

I knew it had happened this time after postive OPKs, EWCM and ovulation pain but I was worried my body would struggle to produce progestrone after being pumped full of it for so long on cerazette.

High temps mean that it's doing just fine so I am hopeful that I have a good chance this cycle if the egg has been fertilised.

Siarie · 17/07/2014 06:47

Some good news this morning, my temp has gone up from 36.2 to 36.6 over night which shows a massive change. Providing it stays up I should get my fertility friend crosshairs to show ovulation.

I knew it had happened this time after two really positive o

Hi ladies, i stopped taking cerazette on 13th June after being on it for 5 weeks. I had a very small bleed on 16th June then no "proper" AF until 9th July, which only lasted until the 11th July when it stopped completely. I've now started AF again which is confusing me. Anybody else had a similar experience?

maximummy123 · 16/07/2014 19:06

I came off cerazette 4 weeks ago today. I had a tiny bleed the week after I took the last one then nothing since. I had terrible cramps for 2 weeks that made me feel sick as well as hormone problems (crying at the slightest thing). I also have very sore boobs. Hoping things will settle down soon.

Thank you Sairie!!

Thank you Sairie!!

Yay thanks for sharing as I think understanding timings and what to expect is important for us.

Hmm I would think that you had your AF straight after the missed pills on June 16th, then your cycle started fresh and you ovulated the end of June/first week of July which puts you at the end of the TTW now :)

You don't sound selfish, everyone here wants their BFP of course but we all have different partners and different situations. Do let us know how things get on, but mostly just enjoy the moment :) xx

KeeperOfTheZoo · 16/07/2014 12:41

Well now here's the thing (and the reason I'm still in utter shock) - I actually came off cerazette at the end of June, but around my birthday (15th June) I missed about 4 days worth by accident (my birthday, DS's birthday, lots going on and not to mention the fact that I'm a forgetful dullard!).

I had a stupidly heavy period (new pad every 3-4 hours, not like me at all) which started on 16th June - earlier than expected but I put it down to the missed pills - I still never thought anything of it though as I always miss a couple during the month; I don't think I've ever had a month where I've taken every single one.

So, my question is - did I just happen to ovulate straight after I properly stopped taking bc at the end of June (the 2ww after which would take us up to now) or did we have an accident earlier due to the missed pills???????? Confused

Ultimately it makes no difference - we wanted a baby and it looks like we've got one... I'm just really struggling to get my head around it - I've just turned 36 and just come off cerazette so it was supposed to take months wasn't it? Don't get me wrong I'm really happy - I just think that fear is suddenly playing a bigger part in my emotions than I think it would've done if I'd had a couple of months more to properly prepare for that BFP.

No, we didn't use OPKs or temping. DH and I are both born worriers and he gets particularly stressed when in pressure situations, so we just decided to DTD EOD for the whole of my cycle, then we would never really know when the "right" time was - it worked for us first time round and appears to have done so again. I can definitely see why people would want to know when they were ov, and maybe if we'd got a few months down the line without success I would've changed my mind.

Sorry for the long post and apologies to everyone reading it who thinks I sound selfish or ungrateful - I know every single one of you would probably give anything to be in my shoes right now. I wish every one of you a speedy BFP and will keep checking in on here to see how you're all getting on if that's ok?

Hugs (virtual, not real, obviously cos that's just not done on MN Smile) and baby dust to everyone.

Thanks
Siarie · 16/07/2014 12:24

Oh also did you use OPKs? temping etc :) xx

Siarie · 16/07/2014 12:23

Congratulations Keeper! Can you give us an update of your stats, e.g. when you stopped the pill etc? xx

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 12:21

Congrats keeperofthezoo :)

Fairey86 · 16/07/2014 12:18

Congratulations! This is all giving me so much hope... three and a half weeks until my wedding, then it's time to throw away those pills!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 15/07/2014 21:21

Yes there is hope of fertility after cerazette. I'm still in utter shock here... No matter how much we wanted this and have tried for it, to see it on a test like that still comes as a shock! And this is my second so you'd think I would know better by now..!

Come on ladies, let's make this the start of a raft of BFPs!

Sheepoverthemoon · 15/07/2014 18:17

Congratulations:-) that has really cheered me up giving me hope :-)

KeeperOfTheZoo · 15/07/2014 17:39

Holy Mother of *!!!

Got fed up with the bloated/crampy feelings, "knew" it was just the effects of ridding my body of the cerazette but thought I'd do a test anyway so I could rule it out and get on with TTC but only got a bloody BFP!

This wasn't supposed to happen sooo quick, was it?!?!

I've got mine to help strengthen my core due to a back injury, I guess it applies to pregnancy too. I've been warned I might be in for some serious aching if I don't keep those muscles strong.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 15/07/2014 12:17

Oooh yes, I had one of those for sitting/bouncing around on last time but I think I started using it too late (when my midwife decided DS was "tilting towards back-to-back" at 36 weeks) - he ended up completely BTB, wedged and emcs after 45hrs of trying to eject him!

I'll definitely be using one from the start with my next pregnancy, so might get it out now to rest my legs on! Grin

Siarie · 14/07/2014 19:16

Haha! Oh I wouldn't feel too sorry for them, I've been sat with my hip tilted and legs elevated for about an hour now! Doing whatever I can to make sure the max amount of swimmers get a chance.

Here's a tip - one of those big inflatable balls is great for resting your feet on!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/07/2014 16:36

We're due today too - my husband jokingly moans - "oh no, it's an other day, isn't it??" - I can imagine all DPs sitting at work now thinking the same thing...!" Poor men!

Siarie · 14/07/2014 14:45

Haha, were DTD every other day and due to do it today so that works out nicely. Thank goodness I've finally got my answer and I should see some temp rises now on my chart.

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/502bfb

I think it's pretty certain that i've just taken ages to really ovulate this cycle based on my chart. So for anyone who has just come off their BC, take it from me. Don't assume that your cycle will be the same, do use OPK tests as seriously how are you meant to know otherwise?? And trust that when it becomes positive it will really be positive.

I'm actually really happy now, I haven't missed my chance of conceiving on my first cycle :) xx baby dust to all!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/07/2014 14:06

Looks like a positive to me!

You'll be busy for the next the next couple of days then...! Wink

Siarie · 14/07/2014 12:51

Oh my! I think that maybe all the symptoms I've been having are my body starting up after years of not ovulating. Today I got my first dark OPK line so I must be ovulating in the next 36 hours???

I thought I had already ovulated as I had a darkish one and then it went light so assumed I missed ovulation pretty much as soon as coming off the pill (it was a couple of days after).

What do you think? I've uploaded a pic
