The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Thanks merk happy to be enlightened! 13 dpo is what it said initially but 16dpo is what it changed to today.

My day 11 temp I discarded because I had a 24 hour food poisoning and it was over 37. I have unticked to see if it makes a difference.

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/06/2014 13:27

Tiger I actually agree with FF that O was cd13. It's struggling as your cd11 temp is missing which is crucial. I can give you a long winded explanation if you want it but I won't bore you unless you ask Grin

greatbigbushybeard · 29/06/2014 12:55

crazy I will also recommend you get to doctors sooner rather than later. You'd be amazed at how treatment, waiting times etc vary from county to county so go and get the ball rolling. As we were older we went to the doctor after about 6mths but said we'd been trying for a year. We then went quiet and let the nhs do their thing, which was sperm sample, bloods and then nothing really so we went back after an actual year and then we got referred to a fertility doctor who did an internal scan, from that she thought my follicles were small and would expect to see more so suggested a private amh test ( tests your ovarian reserve). That came back with a low result so we were then put on waiting list for a laparoscopy. Did that, didn't get the famed 3 mth diff that can come from having your pipes cleaned. So from then we were put forward for Ivf. That was 2 and a half years after first ttc, 2 years after our first doc appt. that timeline is pretty good compared to a lot of berries so yes, get thee to a doctor!!

Yup I def think barking and hb could go into business! I'd buy from you.

Chart

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/06/2014 11:36

Tiger I would leave FF on advanced. If you link to your chart I could take a look?

tigerdog · 29/06/2014 11:32

crazycat I'd agree with the others and go to the GP. I first went to mine back in September last year and have only just finished all investigations. The wait for an appointment where I am is generally 3-4 months so it has been really slow.

barkingtreefrog · 29/06/2014 10:18

HB I'm actually hoping the weather stays a little rainy. Going to try a very gentle bike ride with DH. Given I'm feeling weak it's going to be on an easy trail usually fully of families and small children on bikes. A bit of bad weather might keep a few of them away Wink .
It doesn't matter how far along you get, or if you're initially successful or not, going through any cycle of fertility treatment is emotionally (and physically) exhausting and if it doesn't work it's devastating. I probably sound like a stuck record but I was really surprised how much the IUI took out of me, I thought it was the easy option and although it's undoubtedly easier than IVF, the numerous scans and uncertainty all the way through really took it out of me. I think it will be easier next time though, worrying about what time I was going to get back to work, whether I'd get back in time for the register and not having time to prepare lessons in the morning just added another level of stress. My new job is actually closer to the hospital as well!

Hello lovely berries, hope you don't mind me dropping in briefly from the copter (I didn't go near mumsnet until we finally got our bfp so went straight there).

Anyway, I have just under 50 internet cheapie ovulation tests and a dozen ic pregnancy tests, having put in a big order while in a very pessimistic mood. I'm unlikely to use them before they expire (May 2015) and it seems silly for them to go to waste, so I wondered if they'd be useful to anyone here? If so PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post.

Hope to see you all in the copter soon.

HampshireBlues · 29/06/2014 09:52

Crazy I second Barkings advice on getting to the GP sooner, you will be amazed how long everything takes. DH and I started TTC 3 years ago and have only just finished our first cycle. The who process is pretty lengthy.

Barking I'm glad that you are taking some time off. In hindsight I should have taken time out (although I was nowhere near as far ahead as you) sooner to try and get my head around things. The bear is adorable by the way - perhaps we should go into business!

TTC is a complete mindf@@k!

Happy Sunday all - here's hoping for better weather......

barkingtreefrog · 29/06/2014 09:45

nolly sorry she's on her way Thanks . I'm not going to insult you by asking if you're sure!

barkingtreefrog · 29/06/2014 09:43

crazy how off the bmi are you? If I remember correctly I was just scraping onto 19, which is their cut off for referring to the fc. The fc said though that as I've been slim all my life, as are my family, and I eat and exercise OK that it shouldn't matter.

Although it varies around the country, when you first go to your GP you'll need to go for blood tests and he'll need a SA. By the time the tests are done, results back and forms filled in that could be a couple of months. Then you could wait 3 months for an appointment at the fc. That appointment is only with a nurse, who will book you in for more tests. Then you wait for an appointment with the consultant. Depending on where you are s/he could put you on clomid for 6 months and tell you to come back later...

My point is, if you don't like waiting, get to the GP sooner rather than later! I started TTC when I was 32. I went to my gp after a year, when I was 33. I was just turning 35 when I had IUI. That timescale was slightly delayed by my first (clomid) mc, but only by a few months. With the NHS timescales and treatments vary hugely around the country, but get yourself in there asap. If they tell you to come back later at least you've tried, but they might not.

morning berries. was at yet another wedding yesterday, no reception so just caught up this am. thanks for the guideline wild. Mine's 2.8 so am also now going to ask for a re test. i can't believe how much text docs are supposed to read to keep up to date! absurd. No wonder things are missed.

glad you're being looked after so well barking. dh sounds a sweetie.

i started spottong yesterday so af on her way :( why this always seems to coincide with being in a room full of pregant or younger mothers i don't know. maybe i was Pol Pot in a previous life or something.

short post as on phone, which is nearly as bad as yours, happy! happy sunday all

crazycatlady82 · 29/06/2014 09:15

Hi ladies,

thanks for your wonderful welcome. I need to get quicker at these replies! Things move fast here! Smile

tigerdog not tried BBT partly because I am a bit unsure how?!?! but did invest in an advanced clearblue fertility monitor so seriously hoping that will help... Not gone to the GP yet either because I must be honest with them and there were some lifestyle factors - alcohol/diet/weight (I'm on the lower end of the BMI) which I know they will ask me to address first. I am in the process of doing all of these now. I have started being very honest with myself and what my own faults are. That alone has been a bit difficult Blush

gillster I think I will give it 6 months of being perfect before I go and see my GP or maybe 3 months depending how desperate I end up feeling! Good luck with your conditioning Smile and fingers crossed for August Smile

the raindrops totally too late for JSing I am a very obsessed lady - and spent all night dreaming about pregnancy and babies... eek!!!

oh barking I do feel for you. You must put yourself first. Your physical and mental wellbeing through this process is important. Enjoy cake Smile

beaky hahahaha!!!!!! OMG LOVE OITNB!!! I am so sad I watched the entire season in about 3 days after it came out Grin I need a hobby - making babies! Replacing one obsession with another... Confused

I can also confirm, despite the initial scepticism about the reflexology, this was so weird... She asked me to tell her when she touched a part on my foot which is 'tender' so I say there - my ovaries and the again there - it was my womb... Shock not thinking anything of it because it could be a load of old bollocks but, still very weird. Also a 'tender' bit was my bladder so I spent the rest of the day thinking I had a UTI Confused

Happy Sunday all - my advice to all is take some R&R Wink

xx

Just went to the website to see the photo tiger, I'd agree with ccd14.

happy I've heard of knickerwatch but not bum guessing. Care to share the fertility connection? Wink

Speaking of which, thanks for giving me the title again tiger, I've just ordered it from Amazon. In paperback so I can highlight and scribble if I want to! In hindsight I should have ordered it from DH's account (he's got prime) so it could have arrived early enough for me to read it this week while I'm off. I'm tight so I selected super saver delivery Grin .

I think my settings are advanced on ff, but I quite often disagreed and would have liked an override function so you can put ov where you think it was!

happy keep em coming!! Hehe! Not sure about the erratic temps although I think it's quite common around af and can also be affected by how hot it is etc. this is my chart so far....answers on a postcard as to when I ovulated please!

Bum guessing sounds like an interesting pass time Happy!

happylass · 29/06/2014 08:14

Omfg. 'Im', not bum!!

happylass · 29/06/2014 08:13

Cross post Tiger. I've no idea what the settings on FF mean but I've just checked mine and it's set to Advanced. On a side note my temps went completely mad in the first week of this cycle bum guessing it's because the weather was so warm and I was sleeping with the blankets off?

Morning Berries. Glad my 'nits' have caused so much hilarity! Funky and Barking hope you're both doing as well as can be expected. Thinking of you Thanks.
Amazing teddy Barking - you are so creative!!
Went to watch The Fault in Our Stars last night. Soooo sad. Stock up on the Kleenex if you're considering it Sad
Pretty sure I OVd yesterday which was cd13 and slightly late for me. FX for a 26 day cycle so it doesn't screw up our chances of an early September start for IVF.
Off out for brunch today and then hopefully a long walk, weather permitting. Have a lovely Sunday all.

tigerdog · 29/06/2014 08:02

barking it's the mind body fertility connection by James Schwartz. I'm feeling very conscious of the emotional side of ttc at the moment. That teddy you made is fab, I bet your friend will love it.

I need some charting advice. This morning ff decided to switch my ovulation day from cd 13 to cd 16. Personally I don't think either are right, I think it's probably cd 14 myself. Oddly if you change the setting from advanced to
Fam then it also changes the dates back. What settings do people use?

HowsTheSerenity · 28/06/2014 22:46

Ahh the duggars. My favourite guilty pleasure car crash TV show.
How strange they are.

That's it really. Nothing much to say. Too tired from charity dinner last night. Just popped in to say hi.

FeatherFeather11 · 28/06/2014 22:41

Ahh, barking that teddy is the sweetest and you are super-talented. The last time I tried to knit a scarf it ended up looking like it had been moth eaten. I would so love to learn how to do it properly.

rain very frustrating re SA results. Why can't people just do their bloody jobs properly!!

greatbigbushybeard · 28/06/2014 22:21

Arr that is soo cute barking! You are very clever and generous to make these for people. Sounds like you had a nice day with dh. No, you will not turn into one of those people because you live on planet earth and you also know, that even though your child might be very special and much longed for, they are still a child and will do silly things. That woman probably would have been that kind of mother whether she'd got diffed straight away or not. There does seem to be an inordinate amount of parents nowadays that always believe their child and think they can do no wrong.

rain good god! what a ridiculous amount of children and miscarriages! We have a religion a bit like that in parts of the area we live in. A friend of mine moved to an area where there is a high concentration of them. V religious, conservative, wear little hankie-like head scarf things, no tv etc but the window cleaner told her try have a lot of sex!!

barkingtreefrog · 28/06/2014 21:47

Any news from nolly?

tiger would you mind reminding me of the name of that book you were reading about the mind body connection? I've had a look back but can't find it. In the sprit of positive thinking I didn't buy it when I was waiting to see whether the IUI had worked....

beaky we've got Amazon prime, might have a peek at Netflix if they do a free trial....

bushy ten is ridiculous. I had a meeting at work this week with a secondary senco about a y6 child. I was warning her about the mother - the child steals, lies, is aggressive, argues with adults - but mum will always find a reason why it isn't the child's fault and will turn against anyone who suggests it is. If the child is given any punishment mum is in to argue that her child is being unfairly targeted. Anyway, my point is that this is an only child, born after 6 years of TTC and 3 mcs. A very precious child. Is this the kind of parent I could turn into if we ever get our happy ending?!

wild hope you're feeling 100% soon.

feather and tiger I'm going to be googling all those festivals to see if we can make any! Had a look earlier this year and we were away or otherwise busy for every single festival I could find!!

rain is your appointment this week? Good to have a plan b in mind before you go in, takes the pressure off a little if it doesn't look like things will move quick enough.

Very glad lovely DH ditched his stag do to stay with me, was a bit wobbly last night/this morning and wouldn't have liked to have been on my own, Had a chilled out day: went to a local antique type shop and bought a mirror made with a reclaimed oak frame; then I fell asleep on the sofa trying to finish the teddy bear I've been knitting for my mate's baby, born this week. Went out for a lovely dinner at a restaurant just opened at the end of our road, then came back and watched TV while I finished it. I swear I'm not making another of these until it's for my child.
The photo is a bit dark, trying out the camera on my new nexus 7!
