TTC when DH works away

ohhh singingsoftly that sounds very promising! my fingers r crossed for you!! when /if are u going to test? have u had any symptoms?

because last month I had a way longer cycle than normal I have no idea when I'm going to ov this month so only expecting AF right at the end of the month. that means for now I'm carefree and have managed to keep the spark alive without being TTC mad as I was the past six months! (wait until 25th then I'll start my symptom spotting heeheee!)

hello ladies! how are you all doing? almost a month has passed since our group gathered... hope things are going well for you all whoever has DH back.

for me DH is back tomorrow night, off Saturday then away again so I'm planning my moves... going to make it happen this month! (thinking positive!)

Yeah it's tough going but we keep trying. Hard going when dtd becomes quite planned but we have no other option. Yeah I find the opk's normally work really well. I only use the cheap eBay ones.

hi all! been quiet as have had DH home for four days what a .. treat?

AF finnnnally arrived for me 6 days late so im quite happy she's here then she can do one and we can get down to business on the next cycle.

Singing softly i usually use opk at night from roughly day 10, they start getting stronger for me at 13 days and then a positive at 14 which means I ov between 12-24hrs after that. Creamy cervical mucus is also a good sign of ovulation. Hope that helps.

Hi all can I join in? Dh works away for 2 weeks and then home for 3 weeks. We have been ttc number 1 for 18 months roughly. It has been hard going but we battle on. We have July left before he will be away when I ovulate for the next couple of months after that! Oh the joys.

sorry i have never used the sticks so can't help. mainly cause i know how frustrated i would get if was ovulating and dh wasn't here!

still no sign of af here, now approx 18 dpo normally expect af at 14/15 but get a good indication she is on the way. still nothing in the way of pms

hi singing I've never used the sticks so can't help u with advice. how long have u been off birth control to have such a long cycle? maybe your body just readjusting...?

i stopped in January and first cycle was almost 50 days I think. then 32,31,32 and now on cd36!!! so i was quite pleased i was regular so soon as per BC my periods were very irregular.. my last AF was crazy light though... so light I think its a problem of not enough hormones by my logic anyway. this month I've had terrible hormone skin/moods/bloating. I think its gonna keep on as bfn and its just a blip month hormonally (again...)

how long does your DH go away for?
I think if your cycle is all over the place just go for it and hope for the best, after 6 months TTC I think not knowing when 'the right time' is, is less stressful than timed DTD.

still no AF... still no bfp... I am not known for my patience....

on a brighter note DH is back tonight And home for three whole nights yippee

newleaf i understand its best to test first thing rather than at night so you might not be out yet!

still no sign of af here, tested but bfn but still no real cramps that i normally have the day before so think i am just going to have to sit it out until af shows and can get going again!

hi singingsoftly sounds like u enjoyed your night out with DH back! I know what u mean about freedom I think all first time parents have doubts every now and then. DH And I just went away for 2 days to remote tropical island with snakes, jelly fish, stingray, stone fish, spiders, croc sized monitor lizards and have come back covered in 30+ mozzie bites each. SO not exactly a baby friendly holiday!!!

still no AF for me on Cd33 now I tested last night bfn. so I guess its a no coz I'm a day late now so test would have shown if positive so now just willing in AF to start again for July!

no, promised would wait till hubby home at weekend. although i not confident, have none of my usual pms symptoms, just had some creamy discharge yesterday morning!

when is your hubby home? will you be testing soon?

I don't hold much hope for bfp this month but of course as AF arrival date gets nearer u do start to get a little excited by what if.. maybe...

stupidly I have already tested yesterday of course bfn. AF due Saturday and I'm away Friday/Saturday so will test Sunday morning and NOT BEFORE

Hi ladies and Congrats Claire.
It's reassuring to see people are in the same position. My dp work away for weeks on end and we never know when he will be home or how long for!! We have been ttc since August last year, but when you work it out we have probably only had 3/4 decent attempts because he has been away for the rest!!

how long do you think you will wait to test?
i was expecting af this week, but no sign yet apart from some brown discharge on Monday!
