As in for example 6 months dc1 then ttc for 2 months for dc2 and 4 months for dc3.

Also include not actively ttc.

Just curious .

Took us ages to conceive dd but maybe no2 won't take so long?

Got pregnant by accident with ds who is now 5. When he was 8 months old we decided we'd like another one quite close together, and we managed to conceive dd that month. So v lucky. We were relatively young- we were both 25 when we had our first baby and 27 for our second.

MadameJosephine · 14/06/2014 21:15

DS - 1st cycle after coming off the pill I had been taking for 10 years, was quite a shock

DD - 5 loooooong years, 9 cycles of clomid, 3 of IUI, 1 mmc, 1 complete mc. We actually ended up spitting up for a while then we got back together, agreed to stop trying and along she came!

Holdthepage · 14/06/2014 21:15

1st age 30 1st attempt. 2nd age 34 1st attempt. Very lucky both times.

MrsBungle · 14/06/2014 21:11

Dc1 was an accident. We weren't trying and had only dtd on one occasion that month.

Dc2 conceived in the first month of trying.

IWillYeah · 14/06/2014 21:06

DC1 - 1st month of trying, only had sex on e that cycle, but I was young then!

Second pregnancy (miscarriage) - 3 mths

DC2 - 3 months

Holfin · 14/06/2014 21:04

DC1 - 12 months
DC2 - 1 m

JamJimJam · 14/06/2014 21:03

DC1 - 4 cycles
Gap of 3 years not TTC then
DC2 and DC3 (twins) - 1st cycle aged 41. This followed 2 months of not TTC but tracking my cycles, and when I didn't ovulate at all so I was gobsmacked to fall pregnant.
Very lucky, especially given my age and erratic ovulation.

thejoysofboys · 14/06/2014 21:01

DC#1: 18 months ttc, then IVF (ICSI) - lucky on 1st round
DC#2: er.... a surprise (after 3 months of not using contraception as we thought it didn't matter!)

Inkspellme · 14/06/2014 20:48

DD 1 month (I was 28)
DS 2 years (I was 33).

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 14/06/2014 20:43

DD conceived in the first month.
Hoping DC2 happens sometime soon, we've been trying for 12 months....so strange that there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to this ttc-ing!

Cpt1sock · 14/06/2014 19:35

Dc1 wasn't tried for.
Dc2 first cycle
Then I had mc when dc2 was 2. We weren't trying, well I was.
7yrs later I'm on cycle2 ttc dc3. I'm 12yrs older than I was when last conceived and carried a baby. I'm nervous about how long it may take if it happens.

Spottybra · 14/06/2014 19:35

4 months and 8 months respectively, although I was bfing for 4 of the 8 months we were trying for a second baby.

FTRsGotAShinyNewNN · 14/06/2014 19:32

1st month with DS
9 months for this one, 7+2 at the present but we had a 7 month gap in trying between months 4 and 5 whole DH went on deployment Grin

Dragonboobs · 14/06/2014 19:26

We've been very lucky. Dc1 first month and am currently pg with dc2 (but only 6w so it may not be all rosy) again it only took the first month. Like someone said before I try not to go on about it as realise how lucky we are compared to others. Including good friends of ours which is hard to see.

Watercolourfootballs · 14/06/2014 19:17

Over 5 years.

blackteaplease · 14/06/2014 19:16

2 months for dc1, 10 months for dc2 with a miscarriage between the two.

brimfullofasha · 14/06/2014 19:13

18 months to conceive DS with an MC after 6 months

Aprilray · 14/06/2014 19:08

Great thread. I am on cycle 7 of trying to conceive #1 and it's interesting to see how long it has taken others.

Bunbaker · 14/06/2014 18:38

17 years. One DC.

Molotov · 14/06/2014 18:37

Dd1 - 9 months (I was 25)
Dd2 - 2 years and six cycles of clomid.

Dd2 is now 2yo and I am feeling the urge to have one more baby. I think I am okay with the idea pf not getting pg; it just broke my heart ttc her. I couldn't go through that again, and couldn't put us all through that again.

I'm a bit scared of ttc again. I'm scared of wanting a baby so much and it not happening. But, if it doesn't happen, wasn't meant to be.

Here's hoping for an easy conception third-time around Smile

Gumblossom · 14/06/2014 14:31

Accidentally first time.
dc2 first month ttc
Dc3 had to wait three months after colposcopy, then first month ttc
Dc4 first month ttc
dc5 seven months ttc (after vasectomy reversal and me aged 41)
Since then: miscarriage 1 after 10 months ttc ( after waiting for fertility to return for about 18 months)
Miscarriage 2 after 6 months ttc
Miscarriage 3 after 18 months ttc
Miscarriage 4 after about 14 months
Still waiting for my rainbow baby, but getting rather old!

It just Shows how fertility can change as you age, especially as it was always so easy for me in my 20's and 30's.

helly wish it only took twenty minutes for me this time round....

SwedishSheepHerder · 14/06/2014 14:30

DC1 over a year. Nearly a year trying then read Taking Charge Of Your Fertility. Preggers within 3 months. Was 34 years old.

DC2 got pregnant first month, 4 times, 3 miscarriages, last one stuck (one month after ERPC)

DC3 accident aged 39. Well, not strictly an accident, didn't trip while naked and land on his cock. I thought I could only get up duff if dtd on exactly the right day after experience with DC1 so in heat of moment (fantastic moment!) decided to skip contraception because 3 days too early. Wrong. No miscarriage. Lovely child.

KeithTheCat · 14/06/2014 14:27

6 months DS, 1st month for second pregnancy, now been trying for 5 months and nothing yet.
