Rules of entry: must be ttc #1 for over a year, be suitably evil and hag-like, and submit your BESHtionnaire for our approval. If you are a baby duster or a hun, this ain't the thread for you.

Roughscad of respect to you Barking (that is a fish BTW, look it up Wink )
You are a hero for getting through all that especially with the pregnant laydees and the obtuse consultant. Well done on keeping your shit together and sticking your neck out for some answers. Go DCW for having the presence of mind to back you up too. Sounds like a useful apt even if you are now at the mercy of the NHS systems. You're in the process and can go back to not trying with gay abandon until they have some answers for you. I'm glad it's abated the menkul some.

How's everyone else doing?
We just watched bake off and a combo of ROCH's downfall, hunger and an insatiable craving for baked goods, forced me to spectacularly fall off the gluten free wagon. Oopsie. I mean which idiot brings a bag of 6 butter croissants into a butter pastry starved home at that time on a Wednesday evening and expects me to resist? Give me a viable alternative, I ask you!

My next muse is to await a phone call sometime during Thurs/Fri with the instruction to start taking drucks. All being well

barkingtreefrog · 17/09/2014 19:45

I'm glad I went Erica, I even managed to totally keep it together, even going through all the details of both mc.
Only took 2 hours to wait to see the nurse, then the doctor, then another nurse, then the receptionist....

Anyway, there was progress of a sort. For the first time ever a doctor agreed that a luteal phase of 7/8 days was not going to help implantation. But then she totally ruined it.
She laboriously went over the 'we don't usually do all these tests after only two miscarriages' and when I pointed out that there was no point doing the tests if we had a third (as we'd probably not ever get pg again so we needed to know if anything was wrong before we used up our options) she asked why I thought we couldn't get pregnant as they hadn't found anything wrong with me and it only takes one egg and one sperm? I could have done her some physical harm at that point but DCW stepped in and asked her if it was that easy why hadn't it happened in almost 3 years of trying? And I pointed out again that I'd only got pregnant both times with help, and I'd already mentioned my concerns about my luteal phase. And she wound her neck in.

Got to go back in a couple of weeks for tests that have to be done more than 12 weeks post mc. Results appointment in 2 months.

After that we need an appointment with the consultant back at the Assisted Conception Unit so that won't be until December (if we're lucky enough to get an appointment within a month) so looks like next IUI will be January at the earliest.

So, back to not ttc for another 2 months. She told us to use condoms while the tests were being done so I didn't get pregnant before the results were back. Oh the irony.

Feeling ok again now, hospital induced menkulness has abated Grin.

Blue2014 · 17/09/2014 19:22

How you doing barking? Did it go ok?

EricaJ · 17/09/2014 19:20

Hey Barking,

I know what you mean, i was about to postpone the whole thing a couple of months ago, I just couldn't bear the idea of going to the clinic again.

However, now it's all done & dusted (for the time being at least), I do feel some sort of reliet, even if they couldn't give us any answers.

Good luck!

barkingtreefrog · 17/09/2014 14:33

Ta for the fish hags, hi merk !
In the waiting room with pg women and screaming babies. Oh, and they're running late. Business as usual then!

Fankletastic · 17/09/2014 12:31

Good luck for your appointment today Barking. Try to look at it as moving forward despite it bringing up all the upsetting issues you'd managed to put behind you in recent weeks.

CatsCantFlyFast · 17/09/2014 08:34

Lobs bucket full of haddock of hope through the door
Quick hello

barkingtreefrog · 17/09/2014 08:22

Ta chez, I think you've hit the nail on the proverbial head there, it's bringing up the buried shit. Appointment at 2.30 Sad.

cherrycoconut · 17/09/2014 07:47

Fuck indeed, deep breaths Barking, may the cod of comfort and the bream of bravery be with you. You are still the tree frog living life to the full. The extra info is for when you are ready for it, not when it's ready for you. Sit tight stop googling for now and see what the apt brings. Is it today?

Arm rubs and toe holds aplenty. It is going to bring up shit that has been happily buried but you're strong and you can do this.

barkingtreefrog · 16/09/2014 22:45

Fuck. Been happily in living life to the full head in the sand mode for the last few weeks since the rawness of the last mc was over, but our miscarriage appointment that was ages in the future has crept up and slapped me in the face and I'm now googling causes of mc again and trying not to cry. Fish slaps needed.

cherrycoconut · 15/09/2014 22:26

Fanks for the womble wishes and toe holds hags! Really helps to know you're rooting for us.

Bring on Friday; I'm looking forward to getting some oestrogen back on board TBH. No sweats or flushes thank fuck, how lucky do I feel? But just a general malaise of fuddledness and not feeling quite myself that I could do without oh and where did my boobage go?

It's gonna be bit sublime to ridiculous though as I ramp it up to mega dose. Anyone know what the side effects of looaaads of the stuff is? I'm expecting to have norks like Lolo Ferrari. Anything else?!

Good on you Erica, warms the old BESHly cockles to think of you being able to give back like that.

barkingtreefrog · 15/09/2014 14:33

^^

Sqqquuuuueeeeeeee!!! ^^ It's all go in the baby temple of Chez! Grin

What a relief. You realise I'm living your ttc journey right now so I can remain safely head in the sand about mine? Grin.

EricaJ · 15/09/2014 14:18

Briliant stuff Chez!!!! Well done lining!!

Thanks Fankle! I only moved away from corporate stuff when I moved here so we'll see what happens when/if we move back to Europe. It does warm up my little, hard black heart though! :)

Fabuluce · 15/09/2014 13:29

Whoooooooopeeeeeee Chez you're onto the next stage GrinGrinGrinGrin

Fankletastic · 15/09/2014 13:29

Hurrah!! Yay for womble working efficiently! Grin exciting times are about to begin...

Erica I am in awe of what you do - good on you girl! It's such important work and vital to empower young women through education in this area. We take so much for granted in this country. I've pretty much always worked for charities and that makes me feel good.

cherrycoconut · 15/09/2014 13:17

Yessssss! Good scannnage news from this morning hags, lining has done its thing, we are passed fine to proceed. All being well with our lovely donor laydee it's drucks to go on Friday and rescan end of the month. Phew-eee!

EricaJ · 15/09/2014 07:32

Running out of the door... but Chez tampons and tears describe it quite well! It's not all gloom and doom, we do lots of fun activities but yes, sometimes it's weird to be talking about how careful you have to be to avoid pregnancy when inside my head I'm screaming 'NOT SO FUCKING EASY FOR ME AARRHRHRHRHHRHHRAHRH'

GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!

cherrycoconut · 14/09/2014 22:49

OMG Barking the signs are fucking awesome... that means today's Freecycle frenzy not only means I can now swing a cat in our garage but it was also high homage to the womble. Genius!

But shit, the only palais I have ever frequented before was for gin...

barkingtreefrog · 14/09/2014 22:28

I've sent a load of pre sorted recycling to Uncle Bulgaria with a note attached for you chez.

Oh, not that kind of womble? Confused

Have a halibut of hope and a toe hold instead. All fingers and toes crossed for the palace of the child being all ready to go.

cherrycoconut · 14/09/2014 21:53

High fives BESH! Man I fucking love Sundays.

lalalalalalallala

Sometimes ignorance is total bliss. Just remember you only have to act on the info when you feel bloody good and ready as if the bloody clock will let you

Hurrah for a sprog free party Erica, what a strange job you have! So are you like tears and tampons full time? Sounds exhausting and like it has easy potential for hormone overload especially when mixed up with all this TTC lark.

Hoping your colds feck off soon Fab and Fankle have a mackerel of mentholness to see you through.

Please pray to the god of wombles for me. I'm back in for dildocam scannage tomorrow, all being well to find some nice tumbleweed blowing about in there and fuck all else. pleasepleasepleaseplease.

barkingtreefrog · 14/09/2014 19:42

fankle ta for the respect but my drinking prowess is less awesome and more a little embarrassing.... Unfortunately it seems that over 2.5 years of being careful 'just in case' has left me woefully incapable of drinking more than one drink without having to (wo)man up through the consequences the next day...
Still, one most persevere through these things.... Hope your heartburn/cold/cough all fuck off soon.

And I loved your typo Grin. I was imagining a staged nativity scene with Kate as Mary, and the newborn prince screaming in a manger... That should be a better media opportunity than sneaking out the back door of the hospital.
I've avoided all mention of the event - have they announced really early again? I know their hand was forced last time, I'd assumed they'd waited until the 12 week thing this time. As an aside she's looking really old and wrinkled, doncha think hags? Wink.

cherry no further experiments possible, after Thursday/Friday drinking I did a stupidly long bike sportive yesterday, and by the time I got home having been on a bike for 7.5 hours I was almost dead only a tiny exaggeration couldn't have lifted a glass to my mouth if I'd wanted to! For the first three hours of said bike ride I was still feeling hungover. It took two attempts to eat breakfast in the morning as I couldn't face it the first time!

Fab head now fine, cheers. Will be returning to clinical experiments tomorrow evening. I have realised that I have failed to follow the basic rules of science investigation that I've been teaching primary school children for years, in that I've changed more than one variable. Tomorrow night I shall try drinking only red wine. Later in the week I shall try drinking only gin. I'm sure you're all waiting with baited breath for my report.

Erica a bump-free, baby-free party sounds amazing! Hope you've got your sexy times schedule pinned to the fridge Wink. I'm not the person to talk to about ttc and alcohol, I naively stupidly cut it out completely, then after a couple of years started having a few drinks in the first two weeks, now currently trying to fall off the wagon but it keeps running me over then reversing and knocking me back down again.

Phew, that was a bit of a long one. I've got my mc clinic appointment on Wednesday. Likely to be nothing but a few blood tests and then more waiting, but I'm already feeling a little on edge, like I've got to face things again rather than ignoring all things ttc as I've been doing quite happily since the end of the last mc.

EricaJ · 14/09/2014 15:34

Happy Sundays hags,

In solidarity with Barking, I've consumed a lot of red wine this week end. Had a boozy date night with Mr Erica on Friday and went to a baby-free, bump-free birthday party last night. Today I've spent most of the day reading the Paying Guests by Sarah Waters in the garden , eating cheese and drinking tea. Feel a bit hangover but quite cheery and enjoying the sunshine!

Fankle Glad you had lovely holidays! I work for a social enterprise that works supporting girls and women with reproductive health and menstrual hygiene education. I really love my job but it does make me feel really powerless sometimes.

Chez High Five!! BESH IS BEST! I asked my gyno once what light/heavy periods mean and he said that most times, it was random and shouldn't read into it unless it super extreme.

Fab Sorry you are ill, it sucks! i won't punch you but I will throw a concoction of lemon, ginger, honey and whisky at you, it's a flu killer!

I think I'm going to ovulate Tuesday/Wednesday, so Mr Erica and I had a little friendly chat about our sexy times schedule for the next few days. It's fine but TTC does do strange things to a relationship!

Also: what do you do in terms of drinking alcobooze during the 2ww? I tend to drink less that I would normally (usually I stick to water in the week but enjoy a few on Friday/Saturday night) but still feel guilty thinking how it could affect the outcome. On the other hand, the three times I got pregnant, it was over party week ends/holiday so... what do you think?

I have to say, I love the the BESH admit to missing alcohol during pregnancy/TTC/whatever. Motherhood/wanting to be a mum doesn't turn you in an nun and thank fuck for that.

Fankletastic · 14/09/2014 15:34

my sympathies- both MG and I have come back from Crete with colds. So yes, we were in Crete and it was lovely! Still hot...and likely to continue to be into October so good for last bit if sun before winter sets in. We stayed in a fab little hotel just outside of Chania. Shame about the cold ...hope you feel much better tomorrow. Flowers

Did anyone notice my hilarious typo in my last post? 'Nativity' was meant to be naivety Blush. So just to reiterate, Kate fucking Middleton's naivety in this early stage of pregnancy is massively annoying. That's all I will allow myself to say on the matter for fear of offending any loyal monarchists or Kate lovers.

I have heartburn hags. And a blocked nose. And a cough. Bleurgh.

Fabuluce · 14/09/2014 15:11

arse arse arse - my lovely message disappeared. grrr. Now let me see, where was I?

Barking how's the head love? Have you now completed your clinical experiments into gin consumption vs hangover? I haven't seen your full notes but it seems to me that you'd be well within your rights to assume that hangovers are directly contributed to someone spiking your food with prawns.

Chez, you're right, BESH is best :)

Fankle, hope you had a lovely time on your hols? Where were you again? It's Blue who's in Mauritius isn't it? I'm looking for a last minute holiday for when my contract finishes before I start the next one which will be 7th Oct - anyone have an idea on where's good at this time of year? My last hol was the lake district in August last year whilst I was in IVF 2WW so it wasn't my best time away - we're quite desperate for some time away from everything!

Hags I have a stinker of a cold and am feeling very sorry for myself - I've actually been in bed for two days I feel that rubbish :( I feel really pathetic doing this over a cold but sometimes just soldiering on doesn't get you better any quicker and I hoped a weekend in bed might help but I'm still feeling rubbish. Boo. What a wuss. Someone quick, give me a shoulder punch or something...
