The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

broodylicious · 27/06/2014 12:41

Xxxxx tanny

tannyLoo · 27/06/2014 12:39

I've not been around for a few weeks, but am dropping in to let you know that I got a BFP this morning.

Please don't congratulate me or wish me luck. After 5 MCs in the last year and a half, this is my last shot. I am a tiny bit happy, but mostly I'm thinking "oh no, not again!"

Let's see how we do, I'm only 11dpo so very early days.

Thanks everyone who knows me, your support has been brilliant x

In the spirit of sharing blogs, I've not long had mine up and running. Feel free to comment here or there. It's just my way of getting things off my chest, so - be warned - I will rant!

Brummiegirl15 · 27/06/2014 12:29

Marmalade and Lou feel free to rant away!!

Well, DTD last night and pleased to report everything back to normal and functioning properly with DP.

However!! Yesterday's CB ov stick had a blank circle so low fertility. This morning I have a solid smiley face!!!

WTF?? So what happened to all the flashing smiley faces?? I've gone from zero to ovulation!!

So basically DP is going to get jumped tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm shocked though, that said I do have v short cycles of between 24 - 25 days so actually that shouldn't be a surprise. It flipping is though!!

So if we DTD - which we will - then I am gutted if my AF turns up...

Positive thinking / shagging needed

Hope26 · 27/06/2014 12:00

Watch suits on Netflix! It's amazing.

Marm how long is your average cycle?

Lou07708 · 27/06/2014 11:54

Rant away!!

It's attack of the effin bumps on my floor today. It's like they have all come to say hello to me JTFO

Marmaladecat1 · 27/06/2014 11:45

Sorry for the rant

Marmaladecat1 · 27/06/2014 11:45

How is everyone?
I think I might have to adopt the dtd every other day.
That's if I ever ovulate! I think it's too late in this cycle to ovulate now.
I just wish I could chill out but I can't!
Very teary and fed up today.

Lou07708 · 27/06/2014 11:35

hope that is helpful info - thanks!
fox I would take as long as you need. The GP will sign you off. I am lucky that I work for two amazing blokes and I went back after 2.5 weeks only to keep my mind busy. Physically I was ok but realistically I probably went back 1 week early.
I watched season 1&2 of prison break practically back to back after tfmr/erpc. Gritty, masculine, not a girly baby storyline in sight! Worked at keeping my mind occupied.

Hope26 · 27/06/2014 11:12

Lou keep dtd and either way to be on the safe side. I remember my solid smiley not appearing the month I fell pregnant. Don't stress too much about it.

Fox so sorry to hear you are going through this. I know how hard it is and if you're unwell don't go in. Your health comes first. in regards to what to say to other people, don't mention anything. Just say personal issue and usually people stop asking after that. It will take time to deal with this loss but grieve and let it out. hopefully things will work out for you

Foxtrot7459 · 27/06/2014 10:55

Morning everyone, it's two weeks today since my mc started to happen, feeling sad that just two weeks ago I thought I was pregnant and now I am not. I'm back to work on Monday which I'm not really looking forward too. My boss knows why I have been off but the rest of my colleagues don't and I'm not sure what I am going to say.

And to really stick the boot in, the last two days I've been suffering with a heavy cold. I feel dreadful and am having difficulty sleeping as I'm either blocked up and can't breath or needing to blow my nose. I don't often get colds and have barely left the house in the last two weeks so not sure where I've got this from. I have been feeling pretty run down since the mc so I guess it's quite possible that this is just another outcome...

On a positive I am looking forward to AF then hopefully trying again - I've not felt up to ttc straight away.

Lou07708 · 27/06/2014 10:31

monten I agree with others. My age was playing on my mind and research this bla bla - I just stopped paying attention to it.
No POAS for me. I am ovulated frustrated! I am on cd 13, 5 days of highs and still no bloody peak. I am slightly sceptical whether the cbfm works one cycle after erpc as it does say on the box to wait two cycles post birth/mc.
I have been dtd every other day though since AF gone so who knows.......

broodylicious · 27/06/2014 10:02

Oh bless you monten. Please try not to think about age as a factor. My DH's SIL will have her second in September and she will be 40, she had her first at 36. My first PR boss had her dc at 42. So it doesn't mean you can't get your gorgeous bundle I baby.

I know it's hard not to worry or panic about research though because in the first few weeks after my mc, someone on here - I forget her name - mentioned that when she was in hospital, someone asked if they could take bloods as part of a research project into the link between thyroid and mc. I had blood tests a few months before my bfp and they asked me to go back to be retested as they were interested in thyroid results. I didn't go. I had a mc. Guilt city!

Daisybell1 · 27/06/2014 08:56

I could just for the hell of it. No symptoms at all so not expecting good news on Tuesday

Congrats to Virgo and the other ladies who's names I've very rudely forgotten btw!

Boozle80 · 27/06/2014 08:33

Good luck to all POAS's! It's Friday, whoop whoop! Xx

Monten · 27/06/2014 07:38

Thanks ladies and you're absolutely right, of course. I shouldn't have posted it really, in the spirit of us all trying to stay positive!

Far too early for me to poas, I doubt I have even ovulated yet but good luck today to everyone who is! X

Littlelady33 · 27/06/2014 06:48

I agree Daisy, Monten try not to worry. When you look at the statistics on how quickly couples over 35 conceive, there's really not much in it. But hard nevertheless to not feel cheated, and as though you've lost time. Is anyone due to poas today? I'm only 10-12 dpo so not putting myself through it!

Daisybell1 · 27/06/2014 06:43

Wow this thread moves so fast but Monten, please don't panic. St Marys recurrent mc clinic are very clear that the mc risk does not rise significantly until 42 (that is their cut off age for referrals). Until then, they are not worried by age at all.

Monten · 26/06/2014 21:05

Oh god older ladies, I just read this on that fertility q&a thread about declining fertility as you get older:

GL: The science is clear. Ever since Malcolm J Faddy first dissected thousands of ovaries taken from foetuses, babies, girls and women of all ages, we have known that a baby girl is born with every egg she will ever have and that they are lost at a predetermined rate influenced principally by genetics but also by health and lifestyle. Smoking, surgery, endometriosis and infection can all damage the ovary's ability to ovulate fertilisable eggs. The quantity and quality of eggs remains perfectly adequate until the late thirties and then there is, on average, a decline in both from the age of about 37-38. It is at this age that the risk of miscarriage starts to rise along with the risk of chromosomal problems like Down's Syndrome.

I feel so angry suddenly, thanks to two losses I'm now hitting the 37 threshold and still don't have a baby to show for it.

Btw - someone asked about whether there was any evidence you are more fertile after miscarriage but they didn't answer. Don't know what to read into that!

MrsGingerbread · 26/06/2014 20:59

I've just had a read back. .. ha ha at syringe AND bike!! :)

Blood test for me today, results tomorrow, to see what my pesky hcg level is doing.

Fingers crossed for significantly lower than last week's 47. Frer is still showing a bfp, but it looks fainter than last week. .. I hope. so it should be after a week of pretty heavy bleeding. I all so impatient, but after nearly 6 weeks I want to start again.

I'm actually wondering if I conceived again this month and that this may be a second very early loss just shortly after the first. I suppose I will never know for sure.

Treaclepie19 · 26/06/2014 20:29

Hi all :)
You've been busy!!!

Ive been at work for an induction evening. Public speaking is not my strong point but I did really well. Was proud of myself :)

Now back home and wondering if I will ovulate this month. I hope so.

I'm getting quite upset after dtd due to mc, vaginismus and poor DH putting up with me.

Hey Ho. Another flashing smiley today. Waiting for my temp rise.
