The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Hello everyone, I was on this thread for about a year until March, when we finally got our BFP. I just wanted to report back to those who remember me - we had our 12 week scan yesterday, and all is well Smile. And for those who I haven't met, I'm so so sorry you're here. I had an ectopic, and being further along now makes me even more aware of just how heartbreaking it must be to have to join this thread.

It's been a veeery long 11 weeks (am 13 weeks today), but I'm promising myself I will start to enjoy this now. We wanted it for so long, and I've just been afraid the whole of the first trimester.

Also - I have about 8,000 IC OPKs and HPTs, as well as a clear blue digi monitor (not the big jazzy one, the little one you push the sticks into) and 4 or 5 tubes of Conceive Plus. Some of them were passed on to me by a kind lady from here, and I got my BFP within 2 months so maybe they're lucky? Anyway, PM me if you'd like me to send them your way.

Best of luck everyone, I so hope you get your sticky BFPs very very soon. Thanks

sebsmummy thanks my agnus castus arrived today hoping its a natural alternative to the pregnacare and vitamin supps that messed AF for so long lol ive used every app on appstore and they all say something different for me Confused just going to use monitor and take the agnus castus and see what happens Smile

Treaclepie19 · 10/06/2014 16:06

Sounds the same as me boozle.

Thank you, i just wish my body was back to normal now so I could try again. Its only 2 weeks since I stopped bleeding but it's 4 weeks since I was pregnant :(

I really need to get a grip. I have to say, I'm loving all these storms lately :) is that odd? Haha.

Metalhead · 10/06/2014 16:04

Hi all, just popping in to say hello. Got back from a lovely week of beach and sun on Saturday and am very much enjoying this summery weather!

Got my +opk on Sunday, dtd that night and last night and will have another go later. Feeling quite chilled about it all at the moment, though no doubt this won't last long...

blankfornames · 10/06/2014 16:01

Hey Treacle, it's hard at this 12 week stage (I would have been 13 weeks) as people start to announce and it make us think of what we are missing out on.

That's great that your head is being so supportive. I didn't tell my head as he's one of these people that was born without any emotion.
Hope you're ok

Boozle80 · 10/06/2014 15:59

Bosses are great like that - mine told me she wanted me to focus solely on teaching and to put all my leadership and extra responsibilities to one side until September. It was quickly followed up with but we need all the reports and assessments in for Friday and can you do a presentation for the governors in a couple of weeks... Hmmm. I feel your pain!

On the upside I got a solid smiley today so I'm not completely broken! Whoop whoop! First one in three months :).

I'm glad you're as ok as you can be Montan - I was thinking of you

Brummiegirl - I hate Facebook and all the smug pregnant people on it at the moment. They seem to be everywhere! Keep signing off but the addiction is too great! Plus four people have exactly the same due date as I was meant to have. I am perfecting the big smile and that's wonderful news comment. Then I feel bad for sending them general disgruntled vibes internally! Ho hum!

Treaclepie19 · 10/06/2014 15:39

That's not irrational blank.
Sending hugs.

I am useless again today. Keep thinking I would've been 12 weeks tomorrow.
Just realised I only actually knew I was pregnant for a month. I got my bfp on the 17th April and started bleeding on the 17th May. Don't know why I work these things out. Just gives me more to think about.

The head at school is giving me an extra half day to do work. Got to say she has been brilliant apart from the fact she's observing me on monday

Bleugh.

blankfornames · 10/06/2014 14:26

Hi there, I was on the last thread but just marking my spot on this one! Congrats to the bfps! And sorry to read that some of you are going through hard times.

Dh just came home from work to tell me that his workmate is upduffed and due 2 days before our little one would have been had I not m/c. Happy for her but I don't know why he told me the date.
I'm currently 12dpo and holding out till Friday to test but after my irrational/upset reaction to DH's news, I'm fully convinced the witch is on her way.

Thanks for containing the thread ladies! Best of luck to everyone out there!

sebsmummy1 · 10/06/2014 10:46

Skipping - I'm sure that it the explanation then.

Are you taking your temperature throughout the month? If you do get AF and move onto your next cycle I would recommend downloading a fertility app (I use Fertility Friend) and taking your temp each morning before you get up. You should see a temp rise around the middle of the month and then temps stay high until they either drop down before AF arrives, or stay high as you are pregnant. Good luck darling, don't stress!!!

Ok girls I think AF is pretty much gone now. Have been reading neg on hpts for around 10 days now, so I'm hoping I am onto a new cycle and I will ovulate next week. I am starting reflexology on Wednesday with a lady that specialises in fertility issues. Otherwise I am at the gym everyday, am doing a different exercise on a Sat morning, am earning money as a mystery shopper and have applied for part time work at my old place of employment . So keeping busy lol!!

I don't feel quite as hysterical if I don't conceive ever again. I wonder if half the hysteria is from fluctuating hormones. It's amazing how calm I feel when I'm not producing HCG or when I'm not about to get my period or not about to ovulate. It's a weird one.

Good luck everyone who is getting scanned or in the 2ww xx

silverine · 09/06/2014 23:17

monten glad the experience today wasn't too traumatic and you were well looked after!

Quick question: no doubt the ic hpts are rubbish but what about the ic opks, any good? Are they of equal quality at detectiny ov as other opks? Did one today and negative. Despite the ewcm (which is making ff all cobfused) it's still early for ov, but wonder if I should use better opks in a day or two's time..? I normally rely on temping and ewcm but want to know we've done everything possible this cycle.

Brummiegirl15 · 09/06/2014 23:17

Thanks all. I genuinely thought I was doing ok, but clearly not. Today was a low day.

I'm reminding myself, it's still such early days and it will get better. Problem is, work is not great at moment so adding to my distress.

Am on the verge of thinking fuck em and getting signed off for 2 weeks, but I know that is not the answer and actually, after 2 weeks I will still have to go back. So might as well face my fear.

Ironically they've been superb about mc - just been tossers about everything else

Treaclepie19 · 09/06/2014 22:48

Right, I've caught up.

Sorry you're having a hard day brummie, big hugs.

Hi nexus :) I hope all goes well for you.

silverine · 09/06/2014 22:42

brummie hugs! Must be hard... I get jeslous even of my younger sister although I love my absolutely gorgeous niece to bits!!!
nexus welcome. Glad to hear you've got your bfp - I know how hard these early days are... have come across the "posifrickentivity" thread for ladies pregnant after mc on the pregnancy board? It's really brilliant for the journey - not saying you won't get this on here of course Wink

Treaclepie19 · 09/06/2014 22:38

Glad everything went ok monten x

I'm feeling stupid but nervous about Wednesday. I would've been 12 weeks and I was counting down the days.
I can't wait to be pregnant again.

Skippingthroughthefarm · 09/06/2014 22:04

sebsmummy ive been using it almost one cycle so yes it does still need to get to know me OH has done his research and has said everything will be fine it has detected hormones and my AF is all good and regular. we have been TTC for 8 months now going to give it a full year before seeing GP. Im taking agnus castus as of tomorrow and eating healthier so should see some improvement soon Smile can't help worrying though

Monten · 09/06/2014 21:41

I know what you mean about it being tainted marshmallow. I've only ever had bad news and bad procedures at Kings, my SIL has been only once (its not her usual hospital but she went for delivery there) and has her beautiful newborn to show for it. Its funny the things that bother you.

Ladynexus - the silence at the start of the scans, its just awful isnt it. You can always tell something is wrong, but you never let yourself believe it until they tell you. Fx, I'm sure it will all be fine

sebsmummy1 · 09/06/2014 21:28

Skipping I had exactly the same with the first month of using my CBFM and I fell pregnant that month lol. Don't worry, I think you are most probably ovulating just fine. How long have you been using the monitor? I wonder if it's still getting used to you.

marshmallowpies · 09/06/2014 21:04

Monten what a kind thing of that nurse to say, I would have wanted to give her such a huge hug.

The midwives I came across when I was on the post-natal ward were all so lovely, and even though I hated having to stay in for 3 nights after a C-section, I did feel I got a lot of support from them.

It's sad that I won't ever feel as happy about going to Kings as I did before: all my previous memories were happy ones, DD being born there and also my nephews were born there. Any future trips will always be bittersweet - but that's the nature of hospitals I suppose.

LadyNexus · 09/06/2014 21:04

Ah... That smiley face at the end of my 'thanks for the welcome' looks really insensitive.

I'm sorry for your loss but am glad today went smoothly.

LadyNexus · 09/06/2014 21:02

Thanks monten Grin glad everything went well for you today.

Monten · 09/06/2014 20:30

Oh and hi LadyNexus! Sorry you find yourself here, sorry you've had a horrible time. Wishing you a trouble free pregnancy this time Thanks

Monten · 09/06/2014 20:29

Hi everyone, back from hospital and all went fine. Had to wait four hours from arriving to procedure, the NHS is amazing but the waiting around for everything just kills me. Felt very groggy and teary afterwards, much more so than first time, but getting better.

Skipping there is a thread on the conception boards for people using the fertility monitor, they may be able to answer your questions. But from what I hear that is quite common. One reason I have stayed clear really, I dont need more stress!

Boozy good for you. I work in PR too, for my sins!

Brummiegirl so sorry you are having a shitty day. Facebook is evil. Other people's babies will always be hard and some people more than others. An ex has got to be hard, regardless how you felt about him. I've felt irrational rage and anger and jealousy before, the whole lot. You can't help your feelings though, and nor should you beat yourself up for feeling that. It's perfectly normal. You're right, we none of us know what journey other people have been on, but it doesnt stop it hurting. This is your bad time though, and one day you will have your good time. Swings and roundabouts. I bet you never thought you could be so brave, and here you are, surviving and being brave.

The two nurses who saw me today were so sweet, both of them told me they had had miscarriages before. Makes you remember how common it is. One of them has had two miscarriages, and she looked me in the eye and said 'I'm so sorry for what has happened to you but there is light at the end of the tunnel, and one day you will get to hold your baby'. How sweet is that?

LadyNexus · 09/06/2014 20:10

Hi all Smile can I join? Just been to the midwife today and now the terror is all flooding back to me!

Brief history: first pregnancy was mmc at 13 weeks, second and third were early mc, then we lucked out with dd last year Grin, then another mc and am now pregnant again.

Sorry if tmi but bleeding is so scary isn't it? I bled pretty much all the way through with all pregnancies but I'm still not used to it!

On the positive side had a scan at 5.5 weeks and they saw a baby and heartbeat on the large side of my womb. It turned out the reason for all my mc's was probably because I have a bicornulate uterus with a complete septum down the middle.

I'm 7 weeks now but am so scared thinking about the 12 week scan, can't help thinking of those dreadful first minutes when the sonographer is just silent.

Anyway sorry for the essay Grin nice to meet you all!

FlorenceandZebedee · 09/06/2014 20:08

Hey Brummie sorry to hear you're having such a shitty day, everything is so tough sometimes. I can sympathise with the fb bombs they really can ruin a perfectly good day, in fact I disabled my account for a while under instruction of DH who was worried fed up about me getting upset every time I went on and saw someone's 'good news.' Take heart, these days do pass but be gentle with yourself while they are here. Big hugs from a fellow Midlander!

Brummiegirl15 · 09/06/2014 19:51

Hey Monten hope you got on ok today.

I'm struggling today. Fb is just a baby photobomb at the moment. Plus, a guy I had a fling with years ago announced on fb today that his girlfriend is pg and due 23rd December. This is one month before my EDD before the mc.

I was gutted. I didn't even want to be with the little scroat as back then all he wanted to do was shag around.

I am ashamed to admit that I thought "for fucks sake, he didn't even want to settle down and yet his baby is surviving and mine didn't?"

I'm ashamed of being so heartless - as I've no idea of their journey and it's grossly unfair of me to think that. How do I know she hasn't suffered like we have? I don't.

I'm also going through problems at work and I admit I'm not in a good place at the moment.

Struggling today :-(
