The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Sebs I'm not sure but think the line might still need to be slightly darker? Although they do as far as I know get gradually darker so this might mean the start of the surge?

Littlelady33 · 17/06/2014 17:42

Thanks ladies that's reassuring so expect it was yesterday or today and have been doing my all to lure OH away from football accordingly! Hopefully we all pass through our most fertile days before the next England game.

Boozle80 · 17/06/2014 17:37

I tried those opk's but really struggled to use them for some reason so am currently bankrupting myself with the ones that show smiley faces, sorry I can't be more help! Xx

Metalhead · 17/06/2014 17:09

This is my +opk for anyone who's interested (first time uploading a pic so hope it works!)

Mine don't get much darker than that, and I know I do ov due to scans and biopsy tests. This science isn't exactly an exact science... :o)

Hmmm, I think for me that would still be -ive sebs, I usually get a +ive where the whole line is much darker than the control. Close though.

Justonemoretime · 17/06/2014 16:35

Hello Ladies, I got one just like that yesterday. Looks like we're all in for an action packed night
.. ;)

Little lady - normally with opks you test in the afternoon/evening if it is positive you will ovulate up to 36 hours after your surge.

sebsmummy1 · 17/06/2014 16:00

I am on here to ask for the same thing. My EWCM has calmed down which normally means ov is imminent. Would you say this looks like a peak stick?

Little I usually get two days of +opks, so I'm assuming I ovulate two days after the first positive (or the day after the 2nd positive). In your case I'd guess you ov'd yesterday or today, like you say.

I've been trying to find out if you actually only ov once the opks go negative again, but haven't found a definitive answer to it! I think the only way to know for sure is to temp.

Littlelady33 · 17/06/2014 14:55

Any of you ladies good at interpreting ov sticks? I was an opk newbie until this month. Pos on Sunday, ewcm Monday - when might that make ov? Negatives now and sore boobs etc. So most likely yesterday or today as far as I understand? I'm longing for the months when I just went for the dtd and hope for the best method, but decided to introduce some science this time!

Treaclepie19 · 17/06/2014 14:09

Oh metal, those words really describe exactly how I feel about it all.

it's just all so frustrating when we shouldn't even be doing this now, we should all be walking around with growing bumps instead

Argh :(

Just had a completely self obsessed moment of writing down exactly how I felt. Feels better but the words sent me over the edge a bit reading it back.

I will be joining you with the wine later 50degrees!

50degreesintheshade · 17/06/2014 11:09

I refuse to poas until sunday at the earliest. I do have a total obsession with poas but it was always hoping for a negative during treatment, I must have spent hundreds of pounds on them in the past 10 months :-(

I am trying my hardest not to analyse anything and ignoring all potential symptoms. I just keep telling myself that very strong symptoms at an early stage is a huge red flag for molar pregnancies.

I have 7 children coming over for swimming lessons this afternoon, I think I may need to crack open the wine again (promise I am not an alcoholic!) Only 13 days and we will be back in the uk :-)

Metalhead · 17/06/2014 11:03

Thanks ladies, it's just all so frustrating when we shouldn't even be doing this now, we should all be walking around with growing bumps instead. Sad

I think it's all getting to me a bit because I'm looking for a new job as well, so not only am I having to wait for AF, I also have to wait to hear back from all the applications I've sent. Just feels like nothing in my life is under my control at the moment, and I'm not very good at not being in control!

Brummiegirl15 · 17/06/2014 10:51

Oh metal - I had a fish slap on Sunday for actually POAS / 3 wks after my MC because I was convinced I must be pg.

Guess what, BFN for me.

I feel your pain. No fish slaps from me xx

Boozle80 · 17/06/2014 10:48

I've got another 9 days to push and am equally over analysing every twinge, hiccup and ache... I need locking away the level of obsessiveness I've reached!

Boozle80 · 17/06/2014 10:42

Very small mackerel sized slaps going on with oil from the tin flying everywhere... It's rubbish isn't it! Xx

Metalhead · 17/06/2014 10:28

Anyone about this morning? If so I need some massive fish slaps! After stupidly convincing myself that this is our month (without any good reason, I might add) I am now driving myself crazy again having to wait until at least Saturday to poas (which doubtless will be another BFN). Checking cm every five minutes, poking my boobs all the time, analysing every cramp, even though I know perfectly well that I get all these symptoms when I'm not pregnant. Every fucking month I promise myself I won't do this, and every fucking month I fail! Angry

[And breathe...]

Ha ha ha! In your face indeed! I don't think many people have shouted penis in a church, she should be proud.

My nephew learnt it in the car and my brother tried to limit the damage by saying you only use it if someone is a very bad driver. The other day, when someone swerved in front of them and my brother had to brake hard, he pipes up "is he a bell end daddy?"

I remember really matter of factly informing my dad when I was about 8 that the video player was buggered and getting a massive telling off. I thought it was just another word for broken.

Boozle80 · 16/06/2014 22:05

My DD went through a stage of saying bugger a lot. Her most recent revelation was at a friends daughters christening during the prayers. "Boys have penises, don't they mummy?"
Very quiet reply from me: "Yes they do, it's thinking time now so shhh."
Very, very loud reply from dd to her friend on the other side of the church. "Look, look, Jesus is a boy, he has a penis..." Cue friend saying "penis?"
Dd equally loud, "yes, look, penis!"
Dd quickly ejected. When I asked her what she was doing she told me I'd said it was thinking time and that's what she was thinking. In. My. Face..

Monten · 16/06/2014 22:03

broody that's hilarious! Where did she get that from?! My nephew says bellend and I know exactly were he got that from my brother It makes me laugh so much. Of course he then thinks it's hilarious so repeats it, my SIL hates me.

broodylicious · 16/06/2014 21:53

While we're on the knobbage love.... Our dd loves saying it too. A lot. As in "love daddy knob" "love mummy knob" "bye bye knob" "nanight mummy knob" "hello nanny knob".... Chuff knows where she's got it from as we are so careful with what we say around her because of her copying any given words. Other fave words include "mermaid" and "frog" (???) and so result in lots of laughter but they're not as funny as knob.

Treaclepie19 · 16/06/2014 21:22

Thank you Boozle :)

Men, what are we to do with them?

Boozle80 · 16/06/2014 21:17

Really pleased it went well Treacle - I was thinking of you lots.
My other half has also said very little. There were silent tears at the second scan which he thought I hadn't seen but other than that he's trying to be a rock for me. He doesn't realise that it's ok for him to be a rock and talk about his feelings too! Although he's become slightly too focused on dtd even after I ov'd! He's panicking incase the opk is wrong!
I also love the word knob - underused in my opinion!
