The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Completely agree with you metalhead I couldnt find any actual scientific evidence to back up the more fertile claims only research into there being a slightly reduced risk of mc.

I didnt bleed at all after my erpc and only had mild cramps, in fact it was so 'easy' I felt guilty that it hadnt hurt more how screwed up is that Sad

Metalhead · 22/06/2014 07:38

Welcome Oneday, and sorry for your loss. Good luck with your erpc tomorrow, for what it's worth mine was absolutely fine and I had hardly any pain afterwards and only bled lightly for about a week.

I agree it's best to wait until you get a BFN before trying again, just so you know what's what. A word of caution about being more fertile after mc: as far as I can tell from my extensive googling on the subject, there is no scientific evidence that this is true. One study showed that if you conceive within 6 months of mc you're slightly more likely to have a successful outcome, but that's all.

Of course you might be lucky and get another BFP very quickly, but I think after my erpc my lining must have been far too thin for any potential egg to implant as my first two periods were really short and light. I found the expectation that I'd be more fertile just put extra pressure on myself and made it even more heartbreaking whenever AF arrived. That's just my thoughts.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 22/06/2014 00:03

Hi [oneday] im sorry you need to be here, your story is very similar to mine, I had some light bleeding on the friday was told everything was fine and went in for a scan on the monday to be told our baby had died. I was 15 weeks the baby measured 13 weeks Sad

monten I keep seeing the due october thread on active convos i catch my breath everytime, it feels like being punched in the chest.

impatience I had a conversation with dp this afternoon about how its just not getting easier, everytime I feel like ive taken a step forward something happens and my feet get knocked from under me again. The rose situation has devestated me and I find myself sobbing over silly things again which I had mostly stopped doing.

impatienceisavirtue · 21/06/2014 22:51

I agree about waiting for the bfn.

We used amazon cheapies and I tested everyday. It was soul destroying watching it fade but I know it was the right thing to do. Took two weeks or so.

Justonemoretime · 21/06/2014 22:47

Bloody predicted text.. Bfn before new bfp before first af would be ok, medically speaking.

OP posts:
Justonemoretime · 21/06/2014 22:44

The trouble is, if you have 'retained products' and don't realise, its a real heart ache not being able to physiologically know whether its the last one or the next one. I put it starkly, because that's the reality. This happened to me after mmc 1, and it was very stressful. For that reason, a bfn is a good idea. Howecer , if you get a bfp and then get a new pg before your af, good for you and there is no medical reason that it should be higher risk than if you had waited. X

Hi One Day,
It's rubbish that you're here but you are so welcome. We started trying as soon as the bleeding stopped but nothing as of yet.
Sending you many gentle hugs - there are some truly amazing ladies on here. Xx

impatienceisavirtue · 21/06/2014 22:38

Hi oneday, I'm so sorry you've found yourself here.

Yes, the fertility thing is true. We also were desperate to try again - I have been consumed with it since the Mva.

There is no medical need to wait. They just say so because it makes dating easier if you leave it a cycle or two but it's fine. We didn't wait. Mva was very early May and I ovulated for the first time since 11 June, it doesn't always take long for things to start up again.

So sorry again Thanks

10dpo today, did a frer and nothing.

This feels like it will never get easier. DH was looking for gigs just now and he thought crowded house were playing this year - our guilty pleasure. He'd got the year wrong anyway, but I asked what date - nov 29. Would have been my due date. I burst into tears and it just hit me again. Doesn't feel like it will ever stop.

Justonemoretime · 21/06/2014 20:44

Lou, here it is:uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RossisRiding (shared with dh who is also fundraising), thank you for asking. X

Oneday, sorry you find yourself here, what a terrible shock. I second the need to confirm a bfn before TTC again. Its fine health wise, but it will drive you crazy if you're not sure what's old and what's new. Good luck on Monday. X

Hi oneday so sorry you are here and sorry for your loss.
I was 16 weeks, first pregnancy and had to tfmr 6 weeks ago. We are ttc again. This forum will help you through the next difficult weeks. Wish I found it 6 weeks ago! My consultant and GP told us to start as soon as we wanted. I wanted to be one of the lucky ones who got a bfp without AF. AF turned up last week and glad it did as now we can concentrate on cycles again. I only joined here a few days ago but these ladies are unreal and so supportive. Xx

MrsGingerbread · 21/06/2014 20:09

Hello OneDay

A very warm welcome to you, but I am so sorry that you find yourself here. So very sad.

I am quite new here too (I was briefly on the Jan bus too). I have heard that you are more fertile after a mc which is excellent.

I was told we could start again as soon as the bleeding stopped (I had a natural mc). Ideally to wait until next af for dating, but not for any other reason.

A word of advice based on my current pickle is to make sure you get a bfn when you poas before you start trying again. I didn't think of this until too late, and it creates a lot of complications that you really don't need at the moment.

We'll be thinking about you on Monday Thanks

*cautious not auto

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 21/06/2014 19:43

Hi everyone, can I join?

I've very sadly just hopped off the due Jan 2015 thread after being told yesterday that we've had a mmc. 10 weeks today (well not anymore of course) Had an early reassurance scan at 7 weeks, bean measured 6+1 but had a lovely hb so we were thrilled. Had a teeny amount of light brown spotting and went to a&e on Thurs (this was my first pregnancy so have been over autos) but everything looked good - no infection, bloods good, positive test etc and Dr told me not to worry but that I'd be referred to the EPU as routine. Had a scan yesterday morning and I was told there was no hb and baby measured 6 weeks. Absolutely gutted.

Booked in for ERPC on Monday and I'd like to think we'd start ttc as soon as I feel up to it. Can anyone advise as to how long I should wait before ttc again? A friend of mine (who was trying to make me feel better) told me that you're more fertile for about 6 months after a mc? Is this true?

The only thing I can do to keep positive is start thinking about ttc again and the excitement of it all but I know it's going to be a completely different experience now with what's happened.

Sorry to ramble on x

Lou07708 · 21/06/2014 19:17

monten I really feel for you, unless you commit to never leaving the house, going online or watching TV, everywhere there is a reminder of what could have been. It's just so unfair we have been dealt the cards we have but just is right, you have to look forward. So hard but I know.
just do you have just giving page or link to sponsor?

Justonemoretime · 21/06/2014 18:30

Thanks. Between us, DH and I have raised over £600 for Tommy's. His 100 mile bike ride is in August, so more to come, hopefully.
Sorry you're feeling down. Easier said than done, but try to think about moving forward rather than dwelling on what might have been. Totally understand that its difficult. ((Hugs))

OP posts:
Monten · 21/06/2014 18:01

Well done just! How much did you raise in the end?

I feel like I've been punched in the stomach, just seen, by accident, a thread entitled 'about to pop, July 2014 babies'. July was my first EDD. Just a massive reminder of how far away from it all I still am. Shit.

Justonemoretime · 21/06/2014 15:17

Boozle, it's the same as yesterday, no change.

Boozle80 · 21/06/2014 13:05

10 dpo - so probably that little bit too early to pick up anything anyway and also too early for any signs. Wishful thinking on my part I reckon.

How's it all going today Virgo? Xx

Littlelady33 · 21/06/2014 12:10

Boozle it's so hard not to - how many
Dpo are you just now? Virgo sorry you're going through this, some bleeding is of course very common and so often nothing to be concerned about but after an cm it is almost impossible not to think the worst. Hoping this limbo isn't too long and that you have some good news and reassurance soon.

Boozle80 · 21/06/2014 12:00

Ok, I need slapping with a fish again. Feeling sick does not mean I'm pregnant, it means I've caught something from the child who hurled in my class this week. Being tired means I've spent way too much time obsessing about feeling sick, and not going to sleep, and the reason I can't drink coffee is because I have a bug. Must. Stop. Looking. For. Signs!!!

Metalhead · 21/06/2014 08:23

Fingers crossed for you Virgo. I think being in limbo is the worst bit, hopefully you'll get your scan soon and get some reassurance.

I cracked and poas this morning, BFN of course. I even had a dream last night about getting a BFN...

Virgo9 · 21/06/2014 08:15

Thanks for all the support ladies, not sure what I would do without these forums. Spoke to the GP yesterday evening and he advised the same thing as the morning. If anything chanes over the wkend to ring out of hours doc but otherwise just carry as "normal" and they will try get me in for a early scan in a couple of weeks.
So It's just a waiting game, I am terrified as last time I had a MMC I had brown discharge at 10 wks which they dismissed as normal pregnancy systems, it was only picked to at 12 wk scan that baby had died 5 wks early. I hope history isn't repeating itself.

Monten · 20/06/2014 21:18

I wouldn't normally be so cautious but have read complete horror stories online (this is the one antibiotic you most def cannot drink on). But you're right surely 44 hours is enough!

metal you don't sound like an alcoholic! you sound like me!

ginger what a nightmare ! That must be so frustrating. This one of those times when I come out and say - I just don't think it would be like this if men were the ones that got pregnant. All this 'wait and see' business. And this goes for the situation virgo is in too. If men carried babies it would be scans and blood tests galore, from the moment of conception.

virgo hope it goes well for you, will be thinking of you

Lou07708 · 20/06/2014 21:10

monten I think you will be ok. I was obsessed with not touching a drop after drinking a gallon last week to celebrate AF, here I am post glass of white.
At least we have all made it through another week!
