I have one child who is 11, and who longs for a sibling. I am 32 years old & I have been trying to conceive since December 2013. I am ovulating thankfully, but seem to ovulate on CD18. My issue is that at 9dpo I start spotting and 10 dpo AF starts. I am on TTC#7 now, and I find the 2WW very difficult every month. I try to be positive and hope for the best, but on the other hand I try not get my hopes up too much, as it is so upsetting when AF arrives. I have had CD3 and 7 dpo tests done to check hormone levels...all of these have come back normal...My temps are really good too, so I just can't understand what is going on with my body. I also have been going to accupunture for the last 3 months. I am on CD1 today so hopefully this is the month I will conceive. Fingers crossed.Would anyone like to join me as I begin Cycle 7 TTC? x

CD1-36.9oC (TTC#7)(LP 10 days)

Hmm temp was 36.34 this morn, quite a lot higher than yesterday! Not sure what that means Confused have charted it on fertility friend anyway so will see what happens! Am going to start opk today too as my app reckons my cycle is 26 days now from 30! Just want to work out if I actually am ovulating after all this time!! Xxx

laurano81 · 27/05/2014 23:23

laurano81 36.5°c, CD 9
Ela88 35.91°c, CD 7

My DH must be a light sleeper Wink !! hehe...I guess once it shows a rise indicating ovulation & stays up...then it doesn't entirely matter Smile! Oh I wish you will get a BFP!!! A holiday could also allow you rest & get rid of stress! Maybe that's what you need to get a BFP! I think I need that too Smile It would be fab if you had both Grin! Yes! A win win situation! Sounds FAB!! xx

OP posts:
ELA88 · 27/05/2014 19:58

Hey laurano
Temp this morning was 35.91 (only 0.02 difference from yesterday so must be pretty accurate!) had read all sorts of stories about the therms giving huge variations in readings so seems ok so far! My therm beeps too but DH sleeps through it I think! He hasn't complained yet!
Have a holiday plan!! Am going to wait until middle of June as that would be when AF is due, if there is no BFP that month then I'm booking a week in Cale Verde for Xmas! If there is BFP then I will book something earlier and closer to home! So it's a win win situation! Eek! Xxx

laurano81 · 27/05/2014 13:37

Morning Smile

laurano 36.5°c , CD9, start of Creamy CM

I took my temp as normal @ 7.30 am…it was 36.1 on digital, but I tried the mercury thermometer & my temp was 36.5…DH said the mercury therm. is more accurate & doesn't wake him! I can't understand how there is such a difference between them Confused

I know they say pick a thermometer & stick with it! I will check with both again in the morn! DH is working early am ,so I can beep as much as I want Wink…I've ordered the basal one too, do can check that out against them too when I get it xx

OP posts:
laurano81 · 26/05/2014 20:28

Oh thanks for that! I will check it out...exactly for that price it is worth a shot! x I can check the normal digi thermometer against it to check Smile My DH has a mercury thermometer too & he wants me to use that so that I don't wake him in the morning! The one I have beeps when it has taken the temp...I try to put it under the pillow to lessen the sound! Smile. He does shift work, and sometimes has to start work at 5am, so he likes his lie in Grin!

Oh that sounds FAB! You both must have had the holiday of a lifetime! They prob wanted to know, in case you were miles & miles from the coastline & you had a medical emergency, pregnant woman are probably more at risk...heat, illness, pregnancy related issues etc...A disney cruise sounds Meeska, mooska Grin ...oh simply luscious! xx

OP posts:
ELA88 · 26/05/2014 18:10

Oh I got it from eBay from the 'fertility plan' shop, it was £3.89 so thought I can't really go wrong even if it doesn't work! I have only used it a few times though so can't garantee it is accurate!
We went on a Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon a couple of years ago and when I filled in the forms and read the terms and conditions it kept asking if I was pregnant, so I'm not sure if you're allowed to sail if you're pregnant?! Maybe save that for when we have kids and can afford a Disney cruise! Xxx

laurano81 · 26/05/2014 17:56

Hi Ela88 I am on CD 8 AF just gone thankfully! Sick of it Grin! Yeah I was looking at Amazon too, and yes there are sooo many! Smile What make is yours? or can you give me the link of the one you bought? Thanks Smile..there was a lot of mixed reviews turning me off, so when you say yours is good! That's good enough for me Grin...

My stats are 36.0°C, TTC#2, Cycle 7, CD 8.

You should be ok on a cruise if you are pregnant...saying that I don't have sea legs & would puke at the best of times on a boat! TMI sorry! I have never been on a cruise, so I really can't advise you. xx We all need something to look forward to! Smile Nothing is impossible so hang in there xx

OP posts:
ELA88 · 26/05/2014 17:03

Thanks laurano81! I'm on day 6 of my cycle today so just finished AF yesterday. I got my thermometer off amazon, it was only about a fiver but there were sooo many I couldn't decide! Thought I'd just start on that then invest in a more expensive one if it didn't work, seems ok so far!
What day of your cycle are you on?
Currently looking at holidays for Christmas to cheer me up and give me something to look forward to! Wanted to book a cruise but I can't risk losing the money (if the what seems impossible actually happens!!) and I get pregnant before! Anyone been to Cape Verde?! Xxx

laurano81 · 26/05/2014 16:39

Hi Ela88 Lucky you, that you had a lush sleep in! Smile Sounds devine Grin. I'm exhausted...just in the door...I seriously need to sit on my butt Smile..Congrads on your first morning temping! Where did you get your basal body thermometer? I was looking online, but couldn't decide which one to get. I just use a normal digital thermometer.

My temp was 36.0°C this morning so I'm not too far ahead of you...what cycle day are you now? Have you ovulated? According to my research the lowered BBT is caused by oestrogen, but it would depend what part of your cycle you are on.

Although it is said that normal body temp is 37°C...it is generally accepted to range above & below that..complicated I know! Typically temp is at it's lowest in the morning, & higher in the evening/night Smile ...that's my understanding of it...but I know it is much much more diverse than that..

I'm not a medical professional, but some internet sites suggest pre ovulation temps between 35.55°C-36.66°C is considered a normal basal temperature preceding ovulation. Directly after ovulation temps should rise to between 36.11°C-37.22°C ....my poor brain is exhausted after all that Wink! xx

Hi ladies, I did my first temp this morning (set my alarm for 6 as that's when I usually would get up for work! Then got to sleep in for another 3 hours...lush!)
My temp was 35.93, is that low or normal? The last time I did human biology was secondary school and the body is meant to be 37?! Xx

laurano81 · 26/05/2014 08:25

Hi Katybear I only saw your message after I posted. I know the feeling Smile..you do what's best for you xx Fingers crossed for the both of us!

Good morning Smile

Ooops Katybear I made you a year older yesterday! Sorry! x

I put down a bad night with my asthma coughing, so I don't know how reliable my temp is, as I doubt I had more than 3 consecutive hours sleep.

Hi laurano
Hope your ok. Day 14, but have decided to stop the temping. Was making me a touch obsessive so just going to cm spot and try dtd. I hope your lucky this cycle and hoping for luck this end to x

laurano81 · 25/05/2014 11:40

Morning all Smile

Katybear123 has you CM changed? What a funny question to ask Grin

AF has almost left the building Yippee! lol!! I just have very light spotting today, so it will be defo over & done with by tomorrow Smile...then onto ovulation symptom spotting Wink

I bought Agnus Cactus yesterday, in the hope that it will lenghthen my luteal phase...I asked the health shop owner about it & she said it does lengthen the luteal phase, but that it also boosts LH in the body so helps ovulation. I have an accupuncture appointment this Friday so I can ask the accupunturist more about it, as truly there isn't a thing he doesn't know about the body & herbs...I am lucky also because he specialises in women's fertility...fingers crossed xx

Have fun Wink You are very close to ovulating I think from your CM...what was your temp today?...my hubby is watching the champions league final Smile x

Katybear123 · 24/05/2014 17:59

Thanks laurano I found the same thing. No stretching yet but I have all crossed it will come next. I have my pma on. Need to get hubbie in the mood me thinks as I guess we could now be lucky

laurano81 · 24/05/2014 17:51

Hi katybear123 check with your fingers if it stretches...I get it too just before EWCM...I checked online for you Watery cervical mucus: this kind of cervical mucus is fertile. Watery cervical mucus may feel like leaked urine. Watery cervical mucus is the second most fertile cervical mucus. I hope that helps xx

Katybear123 · 24/05/2014 16:39

Love the attitude laurano I keep looking at my cm, quick q on this it way more watery today, not egg white like yet but is this a good sign?

laurano81 · 24/05/2014 13:35

I know the feeling re CM...I don't think I ever looked at toliet roll so much after I wiped Grin

I actually use an app called Glow...I had fertility friend on my phone but I have to say I prefer Glow...each to their own I guess :D Glow doesn't tell me I've ovulated even though I know I haven't ...it seems to customise my cycle depending on the day to day info I add...

haha I'm the same..I tell DH will I'm gonna ovulate approx. CD 17 so we need to BD/DTD this day etc...haha I was hugging him this morning & he made a joke "Are you ovulating?" & he started laughing! I decided this cycle we will just DTD & forget about the BDing...we will stick to the usual every 2 days etc but mentally it will take the pressure to make a baby off us, and more like making love! Wink Hopefully we will do both...make love & make a baby hehe Smile xx

Katybear123 · 24/05/2014 12:56

I love the positive attitude, I am going to think like that thanks guys. As you say it might happening or be happening right now, I just haven't notice any change in cm at all but I have some defo not egg white like.
Stats are 32 ttc#1, cycle 1, cd13.
I'm using fertility friend to, finding it good to track stuff but I think my temp is throwing it as it thinks I ovulated on cd7-9 but then is predicted I'm ovulating on cd15 as well so I'm in my fertile window. Going to dtd tonight and sun and mon just in case it's right. I have all crossed

laurano81 · 24/05/2014 12:20

katybeari123 what are your stats? Smile
I am 32, TTC#2, CD 6, Cycle 7

mrshjb the weeks will fly, as they always do Smile. I'm glad you are feeling well. I bet you & your DH are super excited x

I have to say I find TTC very stressful, as much as I try not to. TBH it is the 2WW that takes the biscuit...Sad ..I find my life is divided into AF-pre ovulation-ovulation-luteal phase..and praying not to bleed before 12 dpo...I truly try not to let it take over my life! But it's not that easy, when the thing you want the most right now is a baby! & yes katybear when we want something we want it now! The waiting is the worst...but I do start each cycle with a burst of energy & determination to succeed! I sprinkle myself with Baby dust & keep thinking this is the Month!! xx I believe we create our own reality, so I keep saying to myself " I am pregnant" " I am pregnant" Smile. Positive affirmations and I do believe I will be soon xx

Hi Laura didn't see your post before I sent mine. Sorry to hear that you're feeling rubbish. Hope you're feeling better soon! I'm good thanks, just wishing away the next 8 weeks so I can have my first scan, I'm sure it's going to go slowly!

There are definitely loads of stories about people who get pregnant straight off the pill and even people who get pregnant after missing a couple of pills, so don't give up hope at all!!

mrshjb · 24/05/2014 10:52

Oh god yeah I hated TTC to be honest. It's so stressful and you're always worrying about something. Although I'm still worrying after getting my BFP!

I do really recommend temping though, it makes it so much easier to confirm that you definitely ovulated! Have you got the fertility friend app? That works out for you if you're ovulating based on your signs and temps. I think it put me a day ahead of when I thought I'd OVed but it's definitely a good start for new to temping people! I only temped for a month and a half in the end and I really liked it!
