Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

Would love to hear from you!! Smile

I've not called yet Mel, was planning to today but left the info at home and the line is only open until 3pm...I didn't bother testing this morning as I had used 10 sticks and it will just ask me for another 10. Will let you know how I get on.

Yes, try first response Cazzacol - I have heard they are the best! FX

Mel3062 · 31/07/2014 05:37

Try a first response Hun good luck!

cazzacol · 31/07/2014 05:20

Period now 3 days late. An so tired I almost fell asleep at work today! Had cramping on and off since Sunday.....boobs not sore at all and they usually are before my period.......can't stand the smell of red wine.......anyway.....point is that I'm trying not yo get excited because inspire of all this the CBFM pregnancy tests are saying not pregnant!

How good is the CBFM ADVANCE at giving a correct PT reading?

Should I try a different one? If so which?

Mel3062 · 30/07/2014 16:30

Did you ring the helpline? How did you get on? I emailed them but they didn't reply :/

Aprilray · 30/07/2014 10:29

Thanks Mel, you too.
Well looks like I am going to have to give the helpline a call....CD18 and still getting low but have had +tive looking OPKs the last two evenings Confused

Mel3062 · 29/07/2014 12:01

Good luck. It looks like an updated version of the mooncup I have but I'll try it before ivf!

Aprilray · 29/07/2014 11:02

Ooh, I'd not heard of the stork conception gadget so had to google it - looks good! Hopefully being relaxed on holiday will help. DH and I have a week off next month around my ov time so fx next month is our month.

Mel3062 · 29/07/2014 10:20

Af came Sunday quite heavy and painful day 25 so early :/ but I now know the cyclogest has been keeping it away and causing my migraines as I've not had one this time.
Just ordered the stork conception gadget to take on hol!!! On a mission now!!

Aprilray · 29/07/2014 10:05

Any news Mel?
That sequence sounds right to me Cazzacol- not that I have seen it myself yet!
Am on CD17 and still getting low readings (got high from CD16 last month) but temps have been high the last two days (I was drinking one night which would account for one of them) and got a nearly positive OPK yesterday. DH is away at the moment though so may well end up having to write this cycle off.

Mel3062 · 27/07/2014 07:22

Well I'm supposedly 12 dpo today according to ff, af due wed . monitor says low and temp went up again this am. I do think af Is coming as had cramps and pink :( monitor says af due today :/ who knows which to believe!
On the plus side (if there is one) my experiment of no cyclogest proves that if she shows then it's been the cyclogest holding off af and I've no migraine so far which I normally suffer with x

cazzacol · 24/07/2014 20:47

Can someone confirm some things for me?

I had 2 high days, 2 peak days, 1 high day then low in that order. Is that right?

Also, will it check my cycle every month? What I mean is when I used my persona monitor I got an egg symbols on day 9, clearblue peak on day 18! Does the clearblue monitor allow or track wandering cycles? I always felt that persona didn't as I only got the egg symbol twice in 8 months of using it....

Glejza · 24/07/2014 13:22

Thank you! Hopefully it will want one soon ;)

TheGrandHighWitch · 24/07/2014 09:39

Glejza I think for the first cycle it starts asking for sticks from day 7 or 8. Once it 'gets to know you' so to speak, if you look like you ovulate sooner then it will ask for the sticks sooner.

Glejza · 24/07/2014 09:30

Dear all I wonder if you could help me. It's my first cycle using the monitor. I was very excited to get my first urine stick tested today as it's day 6 but it did not ask me for one? Any idea to why that happened?

Just a bit of background Info. Have been Ttc for 20 months now. Have had all tests done apart from my tubes scan which I'm awaiting for and they all came back okay. My partners tests all are showing okay too.

Thanks for your help Smile

Aprilray · 23/07/2014 09:43

Really need to remember to collect some fmu again! Keep forgetting and going before testing - oops! That said the second line on the test sticks is slowly starting to get darker so fx for some high readings soon.

Mnippy · 23/07/2014 07:29

ginger, I have a second hand old one from ebay and after getting over my 'eughh' feeling, it works great (previous readings can be wiped out) and I am very glad I didn't spend a lot of money. This is especially relevant to you because if you already have a clear indicator of when you ovulate then you might not want to spend a huge amount just confirming that. The only additional benefit of the monitor is that it will indicate the days just before ovulation on which you should be DTD as well. If you are short of cash and all other methods suggest you are generally ovulating on Cd16, then you can just stick to DTD every day from CD 13 to after ovulation.

Mel3062 · 23/07/2014 06:32

Gingerbread I had the old one and that was fine you can pick them up cheaply now and the sticks. I've got the new one now and it's costly and not as fancy as thought it may be. I use the digi dual too which is good as is just cheap opks. I think it's all just preference really and finances!! Some work for some and not others.
8dpo for me according to ff day 21 yet monitor is still saying high! V annoying.

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 22/07/2014 10:40

Hi everyone, I haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread yet, but I am hoping for some advice. I have been ttc no.2 for over 12 months now, I have been getting positive opks around cd16 using internet cheapies, and one month I tracked my temperature which confirmed this. I have also had basic bloods done which do confirm I am ovulating, and DHs SA has come back all normal. So basically, there is no obvious reason why we are not conceiving. I am considering buying the fertility monitor as I have heard such good things about it, would you recommend it is worth me buying it even though other methods suggest I do ovulate around cd16? Would you recommend buying the advanced monitor or the basic one? Thank you so much for any advice!!

Aprilray · 22/07/2014 10:10

Hope the conversation with your DH goes well Morethan and we see you back here soon.
Yay for the peak Cazzacol

I am on CD10 and my monitor started asking for sticks yesterday, didn't get a high until CD16 last month so it will be a quiet week for me.

Mnippy · 21/07/2014 19:25

Sorry morethan. Best to have the conversation now.

Lows up till CD13 then sudden ovulation on CD14. Think my measurements got messed up as I've been up in the night with DS1 so sometimes went to the bathroom before my testing window started.

cazzacol · 21/07/2014 16:59

So excited....had a high on day 16 and 17. Then a PEAK today :-)

Mel3062 · 20/07/2014 16:24

Wishing you the best of luck Hun x

Morethanalittlebitconfused · 20/07/2014 16:13

He's the one who keeps pushing for us to have a baby, I want one but not as much as he led me to believe he did. Either way we need a long conversation I feel. Absolutely gutted

TheGrandHighWitch · 20/07/2014 16:06

Sorry to hear that morethanalittlebitconfused. maybe the ttc thing is just freaking him out a bit perhaps. I have found from my own husband and reading about others dh's/partners that they are usually much more negative about ttc than we are.

Morethanalittlebitconfused · 20/07/2014 16:02

I'm more than a little bit annoyed with DH he's decided he has to be at work early and work late all week so will be too tired to DTD he did this last month too so no point me tracking cycles when it's clear he's being an arse.

I'm going to bow out of this thread and have conversations with DH about our future

Good luck ladies
