A thread for anyone TTC with a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor!

Morning ladies!! I was hunting around for a recent thread for anyone TTC with a CBFM but couldn't find any - please let me know if one is ongoing that I didn't find!! But otherwise I wanted a place to share experiences with other ladies using this rather interesting gadget. It makes big claims for success!!

About me - I'm TTC baby #1, cycle #3, expecting AF or BFP on 2-12 June.

I'm still having slightly long cycles after stopping the pill - this is my first cycle using the monitor properly, because my last cycle went on for 40 days, and the machine got bored and stopped asking for sticks after 25 days!!

I'm currently on CD09 and had my first day of a high reading today, although I know the machine gives out high readings like they're going out of fashion so not reading much into that! Will be kicking off the SMEP (sperm meets egg plan!) from today though anyway just to be sure.

MILfreetoagoodhome AFAIK you should ov 24-36 hours after your first peak (which is why you get two). The egg can then 'live' for between 12-24 hours so you should be good time wise I would think.

ah disaster alert !! didnt test today !! well i did but monitor didn't accept it because it was 12:10 not 12pm !! Angry so did the test anyway and guess what 2 big lines one thick one thinner but definitely more prominent than the other tests i've done so far !! blooming typical guess im going to have to persuade OH to DTD when he gets in at midnight from work. how long does an egg last after you have OV'd if i have actually OV'd im just going by the lines themselves probably another high and im just overreacting would upload a pic but dont have anything to upload on with usually use the tablet but OH has taken it to work

Hi Guieapig. Looks like you and I are on the exact same cycle path but I am one day behind. I had a high reading from day 10-14, peak day 15-16, another high yday and back low today day 18. We dtd each day except high day 17 so I hope I didn't miss the window of opportunity! Tww will feel like a lifetime! Possibly will drive myself crazy in the meantime symptom spotting!!
Sorry Chandlers that monitor didn't detect a peak, good luck with the doc tomorrow.

So I've got an appointment tomorrow morning at the doctors to try to work out what's going on with my cycles - that's twice the monitor's not detected a peak/my cycles have been too long for it. Am on course for at least another 40+ dayer again... I'm not sure I've actually ovulated either. Using the machine has been helpful in a weird way at least to see that I haven't had any peaks!! Will hopefully be back using it again after the docs work out what's going on. Smile

Will keep lurking to follow how you guys are getting on!! Who will get the next CBFM BFP?! X x

Got OH to read the booklet for me Grin so i just press the m button first day of AF don't have to reset it like when i bought it

What happens at the end of the month when it stops asking for tests ?? Do i reset it and if so how does it store my data if it needs to be reset each time it reaches the 30day symbol thing Confused help please

Hello all, lovely to catch up on your news. Am back on the lows now after highs being days 9 - 14 and peak 15 and 16 then back to high on 17 and low today which is cd18. Have been quite busy Wink so fingers x. Agree with the poster who said up thread that the cbfm is addictive. DC1 was conceived first month but this time it is taking so much longer we are both getting a bit stressed about it! The monitor is helping me chill more.

On a separate note, having not had much EWCM this month at all, suddenly had quite a bit last night so got busy and will try again tonight just incase though the monitor is now back to low!

Accidentally clicked on trying to conceive instead of pregnant... WHICH WOOOO I AM 8 WEEKS!

Was trying for over a year and used this then got pregnant on second month. The best £100 I have ever spent! Good luck to you all, if you don't have one I would suggest it over everything I tried.

It seems pricey but it is SO worth it! Don't forget to turn it on everyday and pee first thing in the morning x

Not on the monitor no but had peaks on a cheap internet stick and pink digi on day 12 and a positive on purple digi day 8, ff said I ovulated day 10 but think I ovulated day 12 so surprised monitor didn't pick it up too as they were all same urine except cheapie which was evening x

Bizarre isn't it chandler! It's a lifeline this board, so helpful to chat to others. Hope you get peak soon.
Day 24 for me and another high! When will it just go to low??!! Only 1 stick left :/

Superworm - thanks so much for your post! I'm really glad some people still got BFPs with no peak. My monitor stopped working on CD25 without showing me a peak, although I had noticed the second line on the sticks getting a bit more noticeable in the run-up to that. I used an OPK that same afternoon and got a little line (not a positive, but I literally get nothing on them usually, so seems something was detected). Since Friday have had zilch on OPKs. I'm wondering whether I actually ov'd whilst using the monitor but just didn't get a peak. Which would be annoying, but have been DTD every other day/every day so hopefully won't have missed it.

Now I can't use my CBFMonster anymore I feel weird just peeing in the morning and not testing anything!! Lol!! POAS addicts anonymous, lol. OPKs work best in the afternoons so am just holding out for that special moment later on instead... HA!! God I'm so glad this board exists, I just couldn't talk about this mental shit with anyone in real life!! Thank you all GrinGrinGrin

Getting sore stabby pains again it better be a peak tomorrow !! Waited patiently for a high but now I'm fed up of highs lol i want my peak !! Grin

I used cbfm and fell pregnant first go. I have a short cycle - 23 days and didn't get a peak until CD 17. I thought I ovulated on day 10-12 so was way out.

Two other friends have used my monitor. Both took about 12 months to conceive (we are mid - late 30's) but both got a positive on a month with no peak. Random but obviously a peak is not everything!
