We would so love a dog as our 'baby' step, but because we both work full time its impossible! When we had our baby and one of us gave up work/went part time we were going to get a dog too. Now we have to think about not having either! We've got our rat babies but its not quite the same huh?

stepmama84 · 26/05/2014 13:49

Hi everyone, sorry, went to visit a friend this weekend.
When it's just dh and myself our time is spent watching TV box sets/movies thank goodness for amazon prime! Walking/cycling our dog which usually ends up lounging in a pub garden and coming home. Very dull but keeps me happy.Grin For now the dog is our baby, sad but it's why we got her until we were ready ttc who knew it would take this long! She is the best medicine when feeling low though and gives us a focus to go out.

victoria401 · 26/05/2014 12:24

I don't think we were really fighting as such lil, we just had a lot of emotion we had to get rid of!

I'm glad we aren't the only couples who don't get up to much, I thought we were alone in that!

Note to self... Do not watch the supervet when already emotional! Me and Dh blubbing away like no ones business!

xBlueberry88x · 26/05/2014 12:16

Morning ladies,

Sorry ive been quiet now I know im not ovulating im trying not to obsess as theres no point if im not ovulating I cant get pregnant for now.

Lil I only normally get cramps on the first day aswell but this time it was a few days. Its slowly buggering off now I cant wait.

Vicky Im so sorry your having a hard time at the moment, AF probably came early due to stress.
As or couples things me and my dp only get one day off a week together which is sunday, usually it consists of snuggling on the sofa and sex when AF isnt here lol.
Were starting to cycle together but that mainly because im worried the gynae are going to tell me to loose weight before they will help me.
I know its hard but try to plan ahead things to look forward to, me and dp are planning to go to Wales in september just to get away. Weve also been planning things to do in the house literally anything non baby related

Dp is at work today so I am vegging on the sofa Ihave watched both vampire diaries and originals I do enjoy when hes not here sometimes and I can watch my stuff haha.

Hope everyone is good!

lil1ady · 26/05/2014 11:33

Vic when you get the answer to that question let me know! We are rubbish at doing stuff as a couple unless it involves chores or going out to eat!
Sorry you've been fighting with dh. Hopefully you will get back to a bit of normality soon.

m33r · 26/05/2014 11:31

Hey lil I think your advice / comments were very helpful! Thanks!

vic your weekend sounds very like ours - I'm 30. As we've had trouble ttc, I've started to think 'is what we do enough?' And I think it's healthy to think about a few other things you could do ... Take up cycling, walking, photography ... Whatever. But I also think you need to be careful to only do / try things that you might / will enjoy. Do not overcompensate as that will only work for a while and will result in an explosion in the near future.

When's your follow up sa and follow up doc appt?

Its gone awfully quiet in here. You lot must be having such a busy great bank hol weekend :-) x

Saturday was a bit crap for us. We went out for our cooked breakfast treat but then we both started crying in the car in the drive when we got back. We spent the rest of the day either crying or shouting at each other. The 'if its just going to!be the 2 of us for the rest of our lives, you'd better start/stop doing this that and the other!a' conversations. With that out of the way we are ok again!

Sunday we went out for carvery then to the garden centre we are well old before our time!! Today we are going food shopping then digging out the front garden flower beds! God we need to seriously get a life! What do you guys do as a couple on weekends? We are acting like we are in our 70's not our 30's! What do young couples do? Help us!

lil1ady · 24/05/2014 11:06

Hi guys. Sorry I've been mia. App not working!

Vic after dhs 2nd sa came back we got referred, even though 2nd sa showed some improvement in motility (4%-20% but morph only went 3%-4%). I think the official line is referral after 24m unless therr are indicators of infertility before that time. Our initial appointment came through in a few weeks, and about half the time Dr told us it would take. Its ground to a halt since then but that's partly because I couldn't book hsg last month. I hope you are both starting to feel better. I think once you get over the initial shock its actually nice knowing you are on the road now. You can focus on getting to the next appt and its not so crushing when AF arrives. We haven't stopped trying, I'm still using cbfm etc and we're still timing it for the egg, but if we miss a day I'm not stressing about it or upset. I symptom spot much less, and we're back to DTD becausevwe feel like it note than because a machine has an egg drawn on it! Hang in there.

blue sorry AF has been so awful to you. I always get terrible cramping on day1 but after that I'm lucky and they disappear. Fx its just a one off for you.

Hope everyone has nice plans for the long weekend!

victoria401 · 24/05/2014 09:34

Hmmm that's odd, af just started. 25 day cycle. Last one was 31! Never had one 25 days before. No spotting before tho, just straight in. Don't know if that's good or bad. I don't want my body to start messing up too!

victoria401 · 24/05/2014 08:50

Feeling very weepy this morning, my eyes are just leaking! I think its from the past 36 hours being strong! Me and dh are going to do nice things together all weekend, starting with breakfast at Frankie&Benny this morning. :-)

m33r · 24/05/2014 02:13

vic don't let DH apologise. It is so random. Nothing anyone could have done. You doing ok having to be the reassuring one? Thinking of you xx

chrissie44 · 24/05/2014 00:48

Good luck ladies xx

stepmama84 · 23/05/2014 22:13

Gone private yes, selling jewellery to fund it. Diamonds or baby? No comparison. I'm not waiting any longer it's destroying me and I don't want it to affect my relationship anymore. Going back to dtd when I want is better than following all these dumb rules.
Not too sure on time frame. Have first consultation on 12 June then from research I think it needs to start from first day on cycle then three months from that point.
Vic, going through the emotions is healthy, once you have your appointment and plan it will all feel much better Smile

victoria401 · 23/05/2014 21:59

Starting to get af cramps here too. Due on monday. And know 100% that it will arrive every single time now. Today I am in numb and accepting, hubby is apologetic, weepy and clingy.

Sorry, I know there are others here that need ivf and I'm not the only unlucky person in the world! I'll drag myself out of this pit of self pity in time. How long will you need to wait for ivf stepmama? Are you going private did you say?

xBlueberry88x · 23/05/2014 21:06

Got my appointment through today for 19th June may need to change it though as im working and its 2 days before im off for a few days for my birthday. It came through quicker than I thought.

Been getting up early every other day to exercise and going to try to cycling on alternate days try loose some weight.

Af is really bad and painful this time never had it this bad before can't wait till its buggered off.

Hope everyones doing ok

stepmama84 · 23/05/2014 18:26

Oh Vic my heart goes out to you and dh. Technology is amazing nowadays maybe they can do something? They have crazy treatments where they get sperm directly from inside and they can clean it. They even have in places a ninja microscope of 6,000x instead of 200x to see the sperm more closely and pick the 'perfect' one. Fx your appointment sheds some light and you both can be given a plan you're happy with.

Chrissie, feel jealous or angry whinge and get it out, keeping it in will only make you feel poo.

Decided not to make another hycosy appointment. Had a chat with dh and don't want to waste time trying artificial insemination; squirting it in hasn't worked the last 18mnths so why try with a turkey baster :) So knowledge of blocked tubes is irrelevant. Going to go straight for ivf. So now it's just count down for my consultation on 12 June then how quick it can all start….. I am so impatient.
Looks like selling some jewellery to fund it all is on the horizon……:(

victoria401 · 23/05/2014 16:55

Of course its natural to be jealous. Since we started trying I've been surrounded left right and centre with pregnant ladies including 5 in work and a friend. Most of whom now have bouncing few month olds.

I've told my best friend, one work colleague and just now, my mum the devastating news. Don't know how I've kept back the tears all day in work, but it was better than moping at home. Joint doctors appointment booked for June 6th to see where we go from here.

chrissie44 · 23/05/2014 15:41

lil thanks for the advice, i was advised it would be 2 years as i am 25 and he is 26 so once i hit the 1 year marker i will be trying to get tests anyway. thinking of you vic, life can be so cruel sometimes. I have recently had a work collegue find out she is pregnant and wasn't even trying, is it natural to feel jealous? i am happy for her just sad for myself.

MB1985 · 23/05/2014 09:14

I'm sure you must be able to get a referral earlier now, although they msy say you have to wait until after dh 2nd sa so they know for definite what's going on.

victoria401 · 23/05/2014 06:42

Lil, don't worry I'm clinging on to dh for dear life! We both need lots of cuddles right now. Just woken up feeling shit. Massive headache and didn't sleep well. I only drank one of those tiny bottles of wine that hold a glass. So I'm not hungover! Did you get referred before 2 years when your dh's results came back bad then? Sure my GP said whatever the results it would be 24months. Postcode health lottery strikes again!

m33r · 23/05/2014 01:22

vic thinking of you and your DH. Hang in there both you xx I really wish there was something else I could say xx

OP posts:
lil1ady · 23/05/2014 00:18

Vic I'm so sorry hun. Take some time to feel shit, but remember you need to support dh. They take this stuff badly! Definitely don't let them make you wait 3months for another sa. Try and get one for in a month. If there is a problem you need to get the ball rolling. They can't keep you dangling around like this.

Chrissie hi. We got a home sa test....it said dh was fine. Twice. He's not. I wouldnt waste your money. See if you can talk gp into testing anyway. In my area we had to wait 2 years for referral but after a year I got bliids for me and sa for dh agreed. As his sa was bad we got referred then. Its a long process. 3 months on we have only had an ultrasound for me. Hsg next month then 2more to see consultant. Its ridiculous!

victoria401 · 22/05/2014 22:47

In defiance I refuse to take my frolic acid tonight, so there!

HollyBen · 22/05/2014 22:08

So sorry vic No need to apologise. Feel free to let it all out that's what we are here for. Now you know you can find out the options which has to be better than not knowing and being devastated each month? I know it is no consolation x

MB1985 · 22/05/2014 22:00

Oh god Vic don't apologise it's what we are here for! My advice would tend to be just both get shitfaced!!!! However your problems will just seem worse tomorrow and you'll be tired and feel even crappier. Try and get an early night and don't drink too much hun, process the info for a couple of days - looking after yourselves (healthy eating and exercise unfortunately) in the mean time. Boring I know but it will help your brain to process it all so you can refocus and work out a plan. Stay strong my lovely your dh needs you now as much as you need him xx
