Hopefully we'll see more BFPs on this one!

non I've had a hycosy which is similar procedure, I wasn't given antib but told to take paracetamol an hour before as it can sometimes be painful. My advise is to definitely do it, as if there's a bit of trouble with the due going round (mine did) it can sting a bit! Has your dh had Sa yet?

Nonconformist34 · 26/08/2014 17:11

xblueberry - No one or any literature they have given me has mentioned antibiotics, so will ask when I ring, thanks for that. Have you had your HSG then, if so, how did you get on? What us the next step for you? Sorry if you've mentioned thus before but it's really hard to keep track of everyone!

xBlueberry88x · 26/08/2014 15:23

Glad it went okay Non they booked me in for my HSG fairly quickly when I called on day 1.

Did they give you a course of 2 days antibiotics for the HSG?

Nonconformist34 · 26/08/2014 14:30

Just got back from my appointment. I had my external and internal ultrasound which revealed everything to be fine (phew!). DH came along with me and felt useful as he held my jeans and knickers for me!! He got a bit emotional in the room as I think it's finally hit him that this is the path we're having to go down for a baby.

We saw the fertility nurse after which said that the next step is the HSG to check my fallopian tubes. I basically call them on the first day of my period to book it in before day 14, so looking at my dates will be mid-late September. We can't have any sex before the appointment so secretly looking forward to a month off (is that really bad???). It's moving pretty quick since the first appointment so looking forward to you all getting your appointments sorted.

xBlueberry88x · 26/08/2014 12:46

Argh lost you all for a bit then...

Nothing happening with me about 2/3dpo now still trying to shift some pounds but im getting tired of it now. Didnt help I ate wayyy to much bad food over the weekend for dps 30th lol

Vicky Sorry AF is being a bitch and glad your mum understands.

Metal its good to see proof of ovulation isnt it!!

May people really dont know what these small statements can do to people.

Hope every one is doing ok a month until my second gynae app hopefully he can actually tell me something this time.

Lauraqc · 25/08/2014 20:42

Hey all,

Have been working today - got stuck at work until 6pm!!! Blooming criminals.

May you hit the nail on the head I think :( all waiting for appointments and nothing really to get excited about here...

Not only fell over but was well and truly run over by the wagon this weekend, eating out loads and seeing mates and generally enjoying ourselves - means I've put 2 lbs ON!!! Argh. I know I'd feel better if I just lost a bit, and then that would be the motivation to carry on - why is it so hard?!

Victoria we get more cleaning done in the half hour before anyone visits in the entire rest of a month....glad your mum had a lightbulb moment too, got some support there. Watching films in bed all day sounds blissful!

Metal and Non hope you had nice restful holibobs!

Hey Cooper and Lil too!

maybug3 · 25/08/2014 18:09

Well I'd forgotten how awful weddings are for being reminded you don't have children! I'd be rich if I got money for every time someone told me how good a dad dh will be. .. like I hadn't realised and that was why we were childless. Grrr. Bad weekend. Angry

cooperG · 25/08/2014 16:50

afternoon ladies. sorry about AF vic, if I'd been able, I would have stayed in bed watching films all day, sounds perfect! glad your mum got there in the end re IVF as well, but let's hope it doesn't come to that eh?! :)

good luck at the hospital tomorrow non

(waves to everyone else)

nothing to report here, cd19 and not ov'd yet (I'm usually cd20/21 so not worried), just plodding along!

victoria401 · 25/08/2014 08:52

Hope you had good hols non and metal.

Sounds like things are really progressing non good luck on Tuesday with the scans.

Urgh, woken up with the most awful af really should go downstairs and get some painkillers. Might stay in bed all day and watch films. Going to rain all day so not going anywhere.

Finally saw my parents after months yesterday. We had a chat about what's been happening ttc wise. Was better chatting face to face than on the phone. Mum never sounds interested on the phone! So told her our poss ivf plans. Dad did not have a clue what it entailed! Mum did as she saw a documentary on the tv. She was all like "urgh I couldn't do that" but then realised that this was my only choice and chance to have a child. I know how much she loves kids and can't imagine her life without any. It was like it suddenly clicked with her why I was going to do it. Why I HAD to do it. So that was good.

Good luck with your exams lil. November is miles away, plenty of time to swot ;-)

Nonconformist34 · 24/08/2014 17:33

Also, normally pregnancy announcements don't really bother me but whilst I was away I found out that even the f pandas in Edinburgh zoo are pregnant!! Now that really pissed me off!!

Nonconformist34 · 24/08/2014 16:03

Hi everyone,

I have been in Cornwall for 2 weeks metalhead so have been stuck with no mobile reception too which has been quite liberating in some ways I suppose but after a while, started getting twitchy!

DH and I are now officially tee total after our holidays now in anticipation of the treatments which we hope to start in Autumn. I have my second hospital appt on Tues for internal and external scans and then we go from there.

We did drop into friends on way back from hols who have a beautiful one year old via IVF. Was great to chat to them about what we're all going through. She recommended the following book which my husband said he'd ordered for me so worth a try I suppose as fed up of googling and reading more serious stuff!
Bump & Grind: An A-Z Survival Guide for When You're Trying to Get Pregnant Paperback – 27 Apr 2011

Metalhead · 23/08/2014 22:23

Hi all, we've been away in Cornwall for a week where the Internet connection was quite patchy. Had a horrendous journey back yesterday as we got stuck on the bloody M25 again, so have just been relaxing today in between food shop, loads of washing and taking DD to the park to make for her having to sit in the car for 8 hours yesterday!

I'm currently 6dpo, and according to my first ever temp chart I did ovulate this month, exactly at the time I thought I would, which just confirms to me that there is probably something wrong with my uterus after the mc as we have been timing everything perfectly for the last six months. We only dtd 3 and 2 days before ov this cycle so I'm not holding out any hope. Once AF has arrived I will be booking a private pelvic scan and also go and see my GP.

Got a girls night out to look forward to tomorrow at least and I fully intend to have a few drinks!

lildottie · 23/08/2014 19:48

hiya. I've been studying for an exam I'm taking in November. have done bugger all for it so need to crack on!

dh cleaned our shit hole house this morning so I could study. I do love him!

maybug3 · 23/08/2014 19:24

Hi vic. Guess the lack of updates just shows where we're all at these days... Most of us don't have symptoms to spot anymore and just are waiting for appointments.

Off to a wedding tomorrow which will be nice but means I'm neglecting the house for another week. I'm the same. .. Just can't be arsed with it.

Enjoy all. X

victoria401 · 23/08/2014 15:27

Hi ladies, quiet in here. Up to much this bank holiday? I'm frantically cleaning the house before my folks come down tomorrow. Its seriously gross as I just can't be arsed to clean lately and no one ever comes round anyway! Not a lot else going on really. Just glad to be off work for 3 days, mental there at the moment!

Hope you're having a nice one x

maybug3 · 21/08/2014 18:47

Thanks everyone. I have just used the nhs online bmi calculator and come out at 29 so seriously overweight but hopefully ivf friendly!

Still that's only because I've lost 10 lbs over the last 6 months in preparation! Have taken up swimming and running and it seems to be doing the trick.

We'll all get there in the end!

cooperG · 21/08/2014 17:59

Afternoon ladies.

Sorry about the nurses attitude Laura, that's ridiculous! Silly mare :/ I second lil's suggestion though, a few lifestyle changes made a big difference to my dh's results second time round.

Don't lose faith Vic! (Hugs)

And keep up the good work blue, it'll be worth it in the end! :)

I'm on cd15 and haven't peed on a single opk this cycle, I'm quitting them! (I was a right moody cow last month and don't think obsessing was helping much..)

victoria401 · 21/08/2014 17:28

Just to clarify I didn't mean you'd all need ivf! I was just getting at the fact that BMI 30 plus is medically obese and doctors blame every condition going on it and don't like treating 'fat people'

victoria401 · 21/08/2014 15:21

About weight..... For ivf on the nhs you need to have a BMI less than 30. In some areas they said both partners need to be below 30. In our forms they asked me my weight v height but not dh thank god as worked out he's BMI 31! So ladies its the BMI not the dress size you need to calculate. Good luck.

xBlueberry88x · 21/08/2014 13:47

Laura They really are obsessed with loosing weight...my gynae put on my notes I wasnt ovulating because of my weight....but im not doing it all on my own and I havent lost much!! Im size 14 and 13 stone 5'6.
Ive been exercising every day for 2 weeks and its killing me so better start loosing some weight!! Good luck!!
I dont see why she couldnt get your dh to eat healthy to though.

Vicky I noticed the mobile version this morning bloody annoying I couldnt work it out lol. Hugs lovely try and be positive IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

Today I am excited because I have ewcm lol im due to ov again this next couple of days, its so nice to see my body doing what its supposed to.

Hope everyone is ok

victoria401 · 21/08/2014 11:03

I'm fine guys, well same old. Think I'm just having a mini panic that A-we'll not be accepted for ivf or B-we do but it doesn't work. Hate not being able to commit to any plans for the next few months in case we are offered treatment this side of Xmas. I'll be ok after our first appointment with the clinic in less than 2 weeks now!

Hope you're all ok x x

Oh and what on earth has happened to mn mobile version? Really hard to navigate!

lildottie · 21/08/2014 09:05

Laura that's mental that she said that. 1million is low. do you think you can encourage dh to go healthy with you on the "do it to help me" line?

Vic hope you're OK.

Lauraqc · 20/08/2014 21:31

May I know ha! Very contradictory! I'm 5"2 and weigh 13st 3lbs - I'm a size 16/18. It went on the BMI though - she had a natty little device which told her my BMI is 34. She needs it down to 30, if that helps you!

I've had bloods done with the GP but because I wasn't having cycles to speak of she's disregarded those and given me drugs to bring on a bleed...

I'm more annoyed at myself - I lost around 2 st for our wedding 2 years ago and have put it all back on - if only I could've held back a little and we may not be in this position now at all. Argh!!

I figured 1 million was pretty low too, but I'm not so worried about that as I am about this seemingly epic challenge ahead...typical it all comes down to me again, like just about everything else in my life/marriage!

maybug3 · 20/08/2014 21:04

Victoria - hugs X

Laura - am I missing something? You can't change what dh eats but you have to lose 2 stone!?! Have you had any tests yet or will these be your first ones? 1 million is quite low. Our gp told us that equates to 7% of what is normal and therefore would take much longer to conceive. Sadly dh 2nd test had nothing so I now think that 7% was a good chance!
Do you mind me asking what size you are? I'm dreading being told I need to lose weight but have no idea what the cut off might be.
Good luck. Having such a clear incentive should help shift those pounds.
X

Lauraqc · 20/08/2014 20:47

Missed your post before Lindsay - good call I reckon to wait it out! Where are you going on your fabulous holibobs?!

So DH and I had our first appt today at the hospital with the fertility nurse who was very lovely and supportive. Bottom line? I need to lose 2st before she'll give me any Clomid. I've been given drugs to induce a bleed and also paperwork to order day 2-5, 21 and 25 tests. I'll be going back for a scan too soon. It's very strong stance though - she would only give us an appointment to go back when I said I'll have lost the 2st so we've booked in for 6 months time. Have just been out for a 20 minute jog - clearly no time to lose.

Concerns re DH's swimmers was right - apparently they're looking for 15 million in 1ml fluid and DH has 1 million. She didn't seem overly bothered by this and now he thinks he's fine. He's going to get a re-test too. I told her he eats crap and drinks tons of pepsi and her reply was 'well you can't really change what he eats can you'!!!!! Cheers. Totally my fault then and now I look like an awful naggy, bossy wife!

Anyway, we've come away with something of a plan for 6 months which is more than I was expecting to get so I'm quite pleased really. Of course nothing is apparently stopping us conceiving naturally - as long as we manage to time things when I actually ov! Oh she told me to stop poas too (just after I ordered a load of new ones off Amazon, naturally!!).

I may still investigate going privately and seeing if they'll take a chance on the fat bird....
