Morning everyone, Bluberry, I'm sure it isn't like that for everyone. I think I'm part of a very small minority.
Vic, yup onwards and upwards, I mean I seam to know where I'm heading I just hope the app on the 12th is positive and is in sync with my thinking.
Today I have to to try and get funds together for the clinic Hmm
Big hug to everyone xxxx

victoria401 · 27/05/2014 20:49

Glad things are moving for you blueeyes :-)

Yes I'm ok blueberry, thanks for asking. News has sunk in now and I can talk about it without blubbing now! Bring on the next stage! I'm sure there are things they can do to get you ovulating and then you can be on your way to a bfp. Only a few weeks to go til your appointment, it will fly :-)

Sorry your dh had poor result Jesse. But at least there are some useful ones in there somewhere :-)

Good luck with everyone else's sperm results for tomorrow and beyond!

Sounds like you're really moving on at a fast pace stepmama! Good for you! Best of luck x

blueeyes147 · 27/05/2014 16:49

Done, feel like a weights been lifted taking those first steps, lovely women doctor however i now feel like a pin cushion, day 3 bloods just about done (she doesnt know if she got enough blood to be tested) she could barely find a vein :-( so black and blue and off to hosp for round two on day 21, hopefully they will have more luck with the bloods. Now just need to kick himself in the arse and send him in for SA. Here's hoping the next few months fly and we get results we want.

xBlueberry88x · 27/05/2014 16:19

Afternoon ladies,

Blueyes Glad you've made the first step it does take a while but its worth it!!

Holly Glad the SA was normal fx for the other appointment.

Jesse Glad to see your still being positive, sorry about the SA but im sure there are options and things your dp can do to help.

Lil Men are just annoying my DP always ends up with no sex drive just when he needs to have some, and theres no way to persuade him grrr lol.

Stepmam I really dont want the painful test it sounds horrible!!

AF is going slowly but surely, cant wait to jump on DP I do miss it when AF arrives.

Having a bit of a blahhh day today and wondering what to do with myself this month. I know im not ovulating so there isnt really a reason to obsess but im so used to it im not sure what to do.

My Gynae appointment is on the 19th June right in the middle of the day on the other side of the island so im going to have to take the afternoon off and make an excuse to my boss. Any idea what I need to expect? Will they do some tests on the day or will it just be a meeting??

Im hoping it wont be bad news as its 4 days before my birthday and I neeed some good news!!

Vicky Hope your ok?? xx

3.15 app with doctors today, don't think I would have bit the bullet and made app if I hadnt found all you lovely people yesterday.

stepmama84 · 27/05/2014 10:07

Good morning everyone and welcome blueeyes Grin
Good luck with appointments those who have them booked HollyBen and Maybug.
Jesse sorry to hear dh sa wasn't any better this time round. Silver lining is the referral has been kick started, do you think you will try private?
Vic, cut a deal with a local dog walker or advertise on Gumtree, surely there is someone out of work who would be glad of £20 a day?
Blueeyes, I have been ttc for about 18months. Spent most of last year trying to gain weight as I naturally have issues with low BMI and thought this was playing a part. End of last year asked doc for blood tests to check all was ok- came back fine. Then couple of months ago dh agreed enough time had passed and he will get checked. My doc said all tests need to be done close together for any kind of referral. So he did wank and drive took a week, came back fine. I had bloods tests ( day 3 and day 21) came back fine.
Asked doctor about other tests( scan and hycosy to check tubes aren't blocked) and she said I don't fit the criteria; been ttc 3yrs and/over 35yrs. So went private for them.
Clinic seemed surprised at what doc said and thought maybe it's because dh already has a son and my tests are clear?
Ultrasound scan is like a big dildo NOT like a baby scan in movies... I'm so naive; all came back fine.
Hycosy, a catheter is passed through the cervix into uterus and a balloon is inflated to hold in place. Then a dye is squirted in and 'should' spill down all tubes. If not they're blocked. I found it all very painful and some nerve was hit while trying to inflate balloon and I passed out and fitted.Confused Lucky me!
Decided with info we have it's probably just unexplained and given any option we wouldn't have artificial insemination anyway, and seen as there is no procedure to unblock tubes let's save having to have general anaesthetic, having to abstain for a month and £650.
So now just waiting for consultation and to get ball rolling with ivf.
Hope this helps. I'm a very impatient person. I hope your gp is more helpful them mine.
On the other hand going private has all these amazing procedures I'm not sure NHS offers. It might be worth a look?

Jessewalt · 27/05/2014 09:25

Just been to doctors for joint appointment and mr Jesse sperm result worse than before. So much for vitamins. Progressive motility was 19% now 12%.
The doctor was lovely, happy to refer us now NHS and also printed out all our results so we can take it to see someone privately for advice.
Planning on booking that appointment today.
I was so hoping the results would be a bit better, oh well - need to keep positive.
Sorry - need to rush into work, but been reading all your news. Hope you are all ok xx

MB1985 · 26/05/2014 23:06

Oh lil i have those days too its crap isn't it. Fx your wait goes quickly xx

lil1ady · 26/05/2014 23:01

Expect a lot of waiting holly!! Good luck!

Hi blueeyes. I'm also 29 and dh almost 32. Ttc 19 months but cycle 15. Dhs sa's weren't great so we got our referral in Feb. Had appointment at clinic early April and since then I've had 2 internal ultra sounds which have confirmed I have good follicles and good womb lining. For me next step is booking hsg in before cd10 as soon as AF shows up. The bummer is the wait after that to see consultant about it all is 2months, at which point my brothers wife will be dropping sorog no 2. Time to book a holiday for around then I think!

Been feeling pretty shit about it all this evening girls. Not helped by dhs non existent sex drive also being an issue. I feel like I've all but given up. :(

HollyBen · 26/05/2014 22:32

Hi all. Life is chaotic here at the moment and work is manic and we are into week 3 of having the builders in - no kitchen this week as well as dust, rubble and who knows what else. I just keep telling myself it'll be worth it when it's done.....

In better news, DH 2nd SA came back 'normal'. Count was on the low side of normal last time. I have a GP appointment tomorrow to get our fertility clinic referral kicked off. No idea what to expect so hopefully she will take me through it

maybug3 · 26/05/2014 22:02

Blueeyes
We've been ttc for 24 months. Cycle 25 now. Only just started getting tests as vic described, in previous location we had to have been ttc for two years before they would even consider this early step.
Bit overweight but no other issues. Have regular cycles and so on, so well now wait to see what the tests say.

blueeyes147 · 26/05/2014 21:42

Brilliant m33r will do.

m33r · 26/05/2014 19:41

Btw blueeyes in prep for your DH sa I would get him on pre conception vits as - after 3 minths of taking them - it can make a big difference (I've heard on here). Let us know how you get on with doc x

OP posts:
blueeyes147 · 26/05/2014 19:39

Thank you all for advice and experience, gonna phone doc tomorrow, I suppose we've been putting it off cause of possible outcome but def needs to be done now, I feel the not knowing now is so much worse than I think a bad outcome would be, need to move forward not remain stuck in this rut.
Vicky so sorry to hear you haven't had the results you would like, fingers and toes crossed you soon get the outcome you deserve

m33r · 26/05/2014 19:30

Btw blueeeyes I'm 30; DH 42. No health issues, few bad habits and both average weight.

m33r · 26/05/2014 19:28

Oops vic cross post! Sounds like your head is up! Good for you. Glad we're all doing the same on weekends. I'm quite happy with it as it goes! :-) maybe you could revisit the dog possibility in a few months ... X

OP posts:
m33r · 26/05/2014 19:26

Hi blueeyes! Yep, you should def go and see your gp. He will do day 21 tests to check to see you're ovulating - since you're getting the smiley on cb this will likely coma back positive - then get DH to do an SA where DH needs to do it in a pot. This can take anything from 3 weeks to 3months to get sorted. Then you'll get put on the list on for fertility appointment. Obvs if something comes back from your results you'll maybe get treatment in the interim.

Many of us have just finished that phase (though many only just so you're in good company!) and are on to the next stage which is, following our initial fertility appt where your ovaries are scanned, you get an hsg or a laparoscopy where you find out if your tubes are blocked. While this happening - at least in my area - I'm also in the queue for ivf as regardless if the outcome of any test, that's the treatment you get.

We've been ttc for 18months. I exaggerated a bit at my first appt and doc thinks we're 20months.

I hope this helps.

Welcome to the group blueeyes, we have 2x blues now! Maybe its time to see a GP just to check that everything's ok and put your mind at rest. First of all they'll give you a blood test for everything under the sun like thyroid, iron, sti's etc and then most importantly they'll test to see if you definitely are ovulating by measuring hormone levels on days 3 and 21 of your cycle (if you have 28 day cycles, the day 21 might be different if you havent). They will prob as your partner to produce a sample to check his counts.

We have been ttc for 18months, just started month 19. We have just got our diagnosis of male factor infertility which you might have already read. I'm 34 and dh is 36.
From here on in girls its positive thinking from me :-) well until the next bit of bad news! we have each other and our health, our rats, our house. We have more than some...

Good luck with the results on Wed may, and yours soon Lindsay x

blueeyes147 · 26/05/2014 17:09

can anyone advise or tell their experiences, myself and OH have been trying to conceive for 17 months now and still no joy, im 29 my partner is 32 we are both healthy, not over weight and have a relatively active lifestyle. All of both our siblings have all multiple amounts of children and have all concieved without any great waiting time but its just not happening for us, in the past i have been on yasmin up until deciding to come off when we decided to TTC, my periods are always extremely regular (apart from one time last year when they were 5 days late) i constantly use clear blue smiley face ovulation tests and every month without fail the smiley face appears right when i expect it to, my question is should the next step be GP or fertility clinic (we live in Ireland) and what in peoples experiences would be the type of tests doctors tend to carry out at this stage, also how long in the past has taken others to conceive, we are both feeling extremely low at this stage.

MB1985 · 26/05/2014 17:02

Vic only thing we seem to do as a couple sometimes is argue!!! Seriously tho, we go shopping, take the dogs out, go out to eat, visit friends/family. Sometimes we go do tourist stuff and will have like a date day rather than night which is nice.

step my dogs are my babies although keep seeing how good they are with other people's kids :-(

blueb hopefully you will start to feel a bit better now you have come to terms with it and hopefully Vic won't be far behind you there

blueeyes yes welcome we all totally get the 'if one more person tells me they are pregnant I'm going to scream' feeling xx

maybug3 · 26/05/2014 16:57

Welcome Blueeyes. You've come to the right place!

Vic so sorry you're having a tough time but tasty aired that your life sounds just like mine. The main focus for me is the garden and the dog and I'm only 32! We both work full time and someone's quite long hours but had wanted for years to get a dog - we just budgeted for a dog Walker to come in each day so she gets a break from the monotony of being home alone. It proved expensive and motivated us to finally move back near my mum recently so she can replace the dog wallet two days a week. Still expensive but she's worth it in every way.

Having done no exercise other than walking the doc for nearly 2 years I tested myself with a 5km run this weekend. Nearly killed me but actually better than I expected so going to try and manage at least one run a week now.

In the 2ww but feel totally beyond symptom spotting now. Have 7 dpo blood test tomorrow and dh had his first wank and drive on Wednesday so at least things are starting to happen now.

Hope the lack of activity on here is a positive for everyone this weekend. We are supposed to be all about the positivity :-)

Lindsay81 · 26/05/2014 16:49

vic Just read back, so sorry SA results weren't great. I am worried too because DH is to phone for his on Wednesday.

As for things to do as a couple, I don't think there is a right or wrong here! Just do the things that you both enjoy and maybe what brought you together in the first place? On Saturday we went to the gym together, then DH went off to his boxing club and picked me up to go for lunch after I'd had a wee lounge in the sauna for a bit. We like to cook together so we did that on Saturday night and made a nice Italian meal :-) Sunday we went to a country house hotel nearby and had a wander round the grounds and a few glasses of wine. Sometimes I worry too much of our free time involves wine! LOL! Today I'm working! :-(

cd16 here and still snow white OPKs. Definitely something weird going on this month, with the spotting at the start and now this. We've been quite chilled this month though and it's been nice to DTD for the sake of it... it hasn't been that easy in the last few months to try and turn the TTC mindset off, especially with the different tests and appointments looming.

Anyway, hope everyone did something nice this weekend! It's over too quickly isn't it?!

blueeyes147 · 26/05/2014 16:25

Hello people would it be ok to join?? TTc for 17mths now and really feel like i could scream at this point! Not only is everyone around me preg or has just popped but a women that works for me who has three kids has just fund out she is preg (a thing which she said is unplanned and last thing they wanted and they are struggling to come to terms) plus my sis now feels the need to share little private jokes with her hubby in my present how they may try for another too. sorry for the rant AF arrived this am so feeling quite emotional and down.
