Hopefully we'll see more BFPs on this one!

vic I just don't know what to say, you've been treated so badly by the NHS it really beggars belief! At least it was good news about your DH's sperm, try and hold on to that thought.

I've just come back from my GP and he's agreed to run some initial blood tests as we've been ttc for six months now since my mmc. Even though I'm pretty sure the tests will all be fine and show that I'm ovulating, I'm feeling quite relieved that I got the ball rolling with the investigations. (And it means we won't have to fork out nearly £700 for a private fertility assessment!). So, back on Friday for day 3/4 test (although it'll actually be day 5, but that was the only appointment left this week!) and then I'll have to figure out when my day 21 test should be once I've got a +opk.

vicky jesus christ I can't believe how many mistakes you have had to endure!! Im happy that its not as bad as you were lead to believe but I cant believe what you've been put through.

Im sorry sweety I hope you feel better soon!

maybug3 · 31/08/2014 21:41

Vic - just wow!

Thinking of you.

Catch up with everyone properly soon.
X

Lauraqc · 31/08/2014 21:30

OMFG Vic I can't get over the incompetence. I'm very pleased for you but so so sorry you've had such appalling treatment along the way. I agree with Lil that you should write all your events down, along with feelings so that you can say it all at the appointment. Hopefully that'll make you feel like you've dealt with it. I doubt you would get far by instructing a lawyer, but an apology and prioritised treatment could be demanded to make up for it. The department need to be aware how it's affected you both. On the plus side I hope it's made your DH want to dtd like rabbits lol...

Little bit of good news for me - af has arrived! This is great because a) it's exactly 3 weeks since the last and not 7 months in between and b) I was dreading having to take the notheristone to kick-start a bleed and now I don't have to. I've done really well on my diet and lost 2lbs in 2 weeks and I think it's really helping with the cycles! I spoke to a friend of a friend yesterday who has PCOS and spent £250 on a private consultation and says it's the best cash she's ever spent - she's now been referred back to the NHS clinic, seeing the same consultant as who she'd paid privately, and has been popped to the top of the waiting list and she feels like they're now taking her more seriously than before after throwing a bit of money at it. I'm ringing tomorrow to book in. I'll still stick to the diet but want to start scans/HSG etc asap to be ready to get clomid. I don't know if that's an option for any of you, but thought I'd say as £250 I don't think is much to spend to get seen more quickly!

Hello ladies, been away for a couple of months as needed head sorting out. When I left Vic had just had news and OMG!!! What utter bastards!!!! Give them hell on Tues honey, you guys have been there and back thanks to their cock up.

We are still bloody no where. Got told by gp we have to wait over 2 years for referral and he had absolutely zero sympathy as took him and his wife 18months to conceive their first.

Anyway, I started seeing a therapist last week who is trying reflexology and massages on me to try and bring my body back into balance. No idea if it will work but quite happy to have a massage once a week :-)

Not got time to catch up with all posts - but please tell me someone has got a BFP while I've been away??? Hope to catch up with you all soon x

m33r · 31/08/2014 20:26

Just dropped in to see how you're all doing. Haven't read back all the way but just saw vic's post. I simply cannot believe it! It is good news but HORRENDOUS what you have both been through. You need to make your feelings known. I'd maybe prepare by writing things down as they may blind you with science and 'good news' at your appt and you won't get to say what you want to say as they'll tie you up in knots.

Also - and I know this is no reassurance to you now - but you and your DH have been through something awful and were solid. Good for you.

I'm so sorry you've been through this; so sorry. Good luck on tues x

omfg Vic. I would demand retests too! and I would definitely be seeing a solicitor before Tuesdays appointment. and if they dare hint at making you wait tell them no f'ing way. get your hsg if you haven't had it yet (I only remember you mentioning us) and get a new sa for dh. my go told me if test were fine we'd have to wait til 2year mark but my clinics website says to go to go for referral after a year so check your clinics website! I am both amazed and appalled for you. after all the issues you've had you really should consider suing.

Nonconformist34 · 30/08/2014 18:48

I am so shocked Victoria at what you've just posted so I can't begin to imagine what you're both going through! It really is unbelievable and they gave no idea the emotional impact these "errors" can have on people's' lives when they're ttc.

I would demand a full written apology, an investigation into the lab error and preferential treatment in the fertility department or else you will seek legal advice for the trauma you have both received.

Mam31 - Good luck for your HSG next week. I look forward to hearing how you get on. Sounds like we're at similar stages in the process.

cooperG · 30/08/2014 18:38

Oh my god!! vic that's amazing and awful at the same time! I'm so pleased for you that you could conceive naturally but that's so bad of the clinic! Are you going to ring them?

victoria401 · 30/08/2014 18:00

You'll never f-ing believe the latest! Dh had a letter from the clinic today saying there had been a 'lab error' with his first sa back in April. The report should have read ZERO instead of 100% for antisperm antibodies! WTF!!! I really don't know how to feel right now, I feel physically sick! Knowing that we are not 100% infertile and no point trying. We are officially UNEXPLAINED! 4 months of thinking we knew the score and accepting our fate as icsi candidates. The depression I've been under, that dh has been under, thinking he's a useless piece of crap when there was nothing drastically wrong! What the hell happens now!? We've told our bosses and parents we need ivf! How am I supposed to keep my cool on Tuesday at our appointment!? Will they tell us to Bugger off until the 2 year mark now after all this hell?! I really do feel like I could throw up right now!

cooperG · 29/08/2014 18:55

sorry about bfn metal :( but at least now you can enjoy your wine!

my dh had an appointment with a urologist today (referred by my gynae consultant) and she said there were no blockages or anything, and 'no reason he couldn't father a child'. on last SA results the morph wasn't too good (2%) so I was surprised, but apparently as he produces a lot of ... liquid Blush... that makes up for the lower percentage? some positive news finally Wine

xBlueberry88x · 29/08/2014 12:41

emms I would say you havent ovulated as the instructions say the line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line.

Unless your temping you will never know for definate, annoyingly I cant temp but I would if I could!!

May good luck with HSG its not to bad!!

Metal hopefully you get some answers.

TTC 10 Months Plus, Supporting Eachother & Staying Positive :) new thread!!
Metalhead · 29/08/2014 10:01

Right, private ultrasound booked for 18 Sep, hopefully they'll be able to either confirm or allay my concerns that the surgery after my mc has left me with some uterine scarring. Also tried to book an appt with my GP but have to ring back on Monday.

Wine and takeaway for me tonight! Wine

Mam31 · 29/08/2014 08:04

Hi ladies, sorry it's been a while. I have found it easier not obsessing about things so have not been on here overthinking and analysing as I do! Hope you are all ok? I see we are all mostly waiting on appointments.

I am finally getting my hsg on wed, it was put off over summer due to staff leave. I'm feeling nervous but really glad it's soon to get it over with. I have a tilted womb so I am expecting it to be pretty painful :(

Non I see yours is also soon, I will update you after mine so you know what to expect. I haven't been told anything about antibiotics and haven't heard anyone else mention them either, just painkillers. I suppose it's different everywhere.

I will check in on wed to let you know how it went anyway. Stay positive ladies, I know it's hard, but positivity is key!

Metalhead · 29/08/2014 07:38

BFN this morning, as expected. Bah. This whole ttc lark can just fuck the fuck off right now Angry.

Lauraqc · 28/08/2014 22:12

Hi ladies,

You all seem well tonight and I'm pleased to see we're all moving forwards at the moment towards appointments, treatment and help in general.

I've been exercising ha - nice walk with DH last night and a swim tonight. X-biking booked for Monday too. I WILL lose 2 st!

Ah Cooper those days of being able to just say 'no' to af! Vic ooh where are you going on hole? Lush got to love a beach holiday!

cooperG · 28/08/2014 17:24

Oh no metal, sorry :( make sure you treat yourselves to something nice that week and try to keep thinking positive.

Wow non that's an amazing count! Don't think the amount of fluid matters if there are lots of swimmers does it?

I had af on my hol in June vic, sucks doesn't it?! In the past I could've just taken two packs of pill together... (Remembers good old days of not worrying about fertility wistfully...)

xBlueberry88x · 28/08/2014 14:15

Non I was given a two day course of antibiotics and I also took paracetamol before...I was told the antibiotics was to ward of any chance of infection (I did bleed after so im guessing there is always a small chance of infection)....make sure you take a pad with you.

The worse bit I found was the balloon when they inflate it, it felt like really bad period pain but constant and not where it normally is. It is fairly quick though but do take some one with you my mum held my hand until the did the scan and then she had to go behind a screen.

I hated the break from sex but luckily I had the scan just before I ovulated and she told me to jump on dp that day!!

Metal fx for this month but look after yourself.

victoria401 · 28/08/2014 12:49

Big hugs metal treat yourself that day x

Hope your HSG goes ok non. I'm wondering if I will need one or not. Spoken to a few people at the clinic forum and not all had one pre ivf. Maybe it does depend on if you have def male factor diagnosis? Our clinic appointment is next Tuesday. If I do need one the following cycle I'm out of the country on my hols! Well my cd1 is on my hols. I can still call the hospital from abroad I guess and get fitted in after our return. Urgh, thanks mother nature for spoiling my beach hol!

Nonconformist34 · 27/08/2014 20:37

Cooper - Yes, DH had SA done few months ago in order for the referral to go ahead. Although he produces a small amount (1.1ml) which is the borderline measurement, his count is good at 120million per ml and progressive motility at 85%. So, I suppose although there's not a lot if it, what he has is quality!

My gut feeling is that for whatever reason, his sperm is just not getting to my egg so I truly hope that IUI will be enough for us.

Thanks for the advise on the painkillers, definitely will do that!

Lauraqc · 27/08/2014 18:50

Metal tough week ahead, sorry to hear that :(

Non definitely no bad thing to have a month off - this is all very tiring and quite frankly a bit of a chore at times! I hope your HSG goes well, i'm also watching with interest as after my scan I reckon I'll have to have one. Waiting for date of scan now...

Dtd last night for the first time in about 2.5 weeks - was well worth the wait lol and the break was nice cos I wasn't thinking about how I felt each day, analysing little pains etc etc!

Metalhead · 27/08/2014 14:10

Good news about your scans Non! I can't help with the HSG but watching with interest as I'm sure I'll probably have to have one at some point as well. And I know what you mean about being relieved at the sex ban, any excuse would be very welcome in my house... Blush

I'm currently 10dpo and pretty sure I'm out this month. I will poas on Friday just so I can have some wine over the weekend without worrying, but it's just a formality really. Not looking forward to 10 Sep when I would have been due had I not had the mc. I thought I'd at least be pregnant again by then. Sad

cooperG · 26/08/2014 17:42

Argh typos! Stupid phone :/
