Hopefully we'll see more BFPs on this one!

Yay for your af Laura!

If I knew I couldn't get pregnant I would be symptom spotting today! Have sore boobs still at 12dpo and was feeling nauseous and goose bumpy just now. Uber tired today too. Absolutely nothing to do with my late night, red AND white wine and 6 course posh dinner plus being awake more or less since 5am from the thunder and lightening show! Lol

Lauraqc · 19/07/2014 17:58

I have af! I realise this is odd news that I'm pleased about this but I'm just very happy to feel like my body is on my team!

Lindsay - I think most of us have gone awol every now and then - I think it's healthy - we have to keep living our lives despite waiting for the elusive bfp!

Victoria - symptom spotting sucks and it sounds like you have your game plan :)

Lil - you kick butt! Remind me to ask you when I've been fobbed off by dr again!!!

lildottie · 19/07/2014 17:13

oh and Lindsay don't take that shot. book am appointment and go in armed with research from medical journals and such like. write to a clinic and ask them to confirm you should qualify for referral. check clinic websites and hfea website for info. then kick the gps ass. it annoys mW so much that GPS are idiots when it comes to this stuff and mess with our lives like this.

lildottie · 19/07/2014 17:11

oh good news Vic! I think day 4 would be fine as its meant to be day 3 so 2 or 4 would be one day either side. hope the witch behaves and shows up when she's meant to! Thanks

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 13:04

Hi, false alarm! No af! Just had such bad cramps when I woke at 5am with the storms I was convinced it was starting. All gone quiet again now. Panic over! But if I started tomorrow Wednesday would be day 4... Day2+3 are the same tests. Doc said needed to be 2 or 3 makes no difference. But this was doc who didn't know what a bad sperm test was!

Welcome back Lindsay I agree that you do become obsessed looking on here. Its not so bad for me now though as I will not get preg without help! Gone are the symptom spotting days and plotting best bd days. I hope you can get more info and help for your luteal phase.

Laura hope you get your answer one way or another x

Lindsay81 · 19/07/2014 12:23

m33r congratulations!!!! So happy to see another bfp! Xoxoxo Remind me how long you were trying? Did you guys have any complications/ hurdles or did it just take this time to happen?

So sorry about being so MIA :-( Being on here isn't always great for me and makes me obsess a little. Hope everyone is doing ok and buoyed by m33r's good news!

Update from fertility appointment is that an 8 day luteal phase doesn't make any difference (what?). Blood tests booked for my day 21 again and also day 24 which I am sure will be higher and prove I ovulate late. But they don't seem to think this is a problem. She said she would start me on clomid if the day21 result was borderline again. I kind of wish I'd shut up about getting day 24 done too because I don't think they'll give me clomid if I get a good progesterone result on day24, despite cycle only being around 27 days, as they don't believe in a luteal phase defect and will just say it's good that I'm ovulating.

HSG also booked for the end of August.

DH's results all good and in fact he seems to be quite the Fertile Fred. Which has led to him strutting about like a prize stallion. lol

Although nothing has happened yet, I kind of feel inside e like we are getting there. Slowly. Maybe.

L xx

lildottie · 19/07/2014 10:01

oh Vic! definitely phone Monday morning and see if u can get an appt. i have to day I've not heard of day 2 tests, only day 3 but perhaps they are testing something different? if u know what u are being tested for you could research and see if cd3 will be any good in case u can get in for Tuesday? don't worry about it until you can actually do something about it on Monday though. most surgeries have appointments kept back each day for emergencies. maybe find out if you can get it done at a private clinic if its not too costly? they may be open on a Saturday? Thanks

Laura fx you get something either way so you finally know where you stand.

Lauraqc · 19/07/2014 07:43

March there Monday morning and camp out til they see you! Even if they have a cancellation or something it'd help!

Got major cramps this morning feel like af is coming (I'm probably the only person on this thread who will be pleased to see that!) but still same sort of watery light red/brown. Will test later if it hasn't gone into full blown af....damnit going riding and swimming this morning too and I'll be worrying all morning!

victoria401 · 19/07/2014 05:19

Darn it! Just woken up by the thunder and lightening at discovered af has come early! Meant to be getting my bloods done on Wed and now its too late! Need them done Monday and now its the fruggin weekend and I can't try and see if they can fit me in!

Lauraqc · 18/07/2014 23:09

Hi hope everyone's ok!

Victoria - glad to hear things are moving the in the right direction and you had an acknowledgment of bad service; hopefully now you're in control you get it moving more quickly!

Blue - I started low GI diet about 3 weeks ago and have lost a measly 4.5lbs but I credit it with making me ov for first time since I don't know how long! I've done weight watchers online before as I like the tracking thing but finding the Low GI good to bring the insulin levels down. As I say seems to be working...

I've had some very light bleeding when I wipe tonight after ov a week ago last tues. Not sure what it is whether af is due or implantation - tbh ill be happy either way as long as something is happening after not have a for anything for 7 months! Easy to please :)

lildottie · 18/07/2014 19:17

blue stick with it. you won't notice the difference immediately but it is making a difference. I found drinking more water shed weight quicker. also staved off hunger a little

Mam31 · 18/07/2014 16:41

Blue you can't ttc the month of the hsg you have to wait until the next month due to unknown risk of the dye they put in you. I'm getting my hsg in august so our next try will be September!! Annoying!

xBlueberry88x · 18/07/2014 15:15

Lil sadly hes working a late.

Ive asked my mum to come with me not sure id want her in there but at least ill have the choice.

Fed up with all this exercising though, measured and weighed myself yesterday and there literally no difference just an inch here and there and no difference in weight.

What if I cant loose the weight hes asked me to loose, im exercising everyday alternating between cycling and 30 day shred, i walk alot for work and im eating salads etc what more can I do.

lildottie · 18/07/2014 15:02

Vic that's fab! finally things are starting to go your way! definitely nag him about the vit c. I liked that the Dr actual referred to medical studies supporting it. have to say he was very good. I'm 29yo so not "young" but the right side of 30....for another 9 months at least!

thanks blue. and good luck with the hsg. you will be fine. you so need someone to drive you tho, I was glad I didn't have to drive after. give ur dh a kick. not like he has to go through it. my dh just waited in waiting room, didn't actually come in with me.

xBlueberry88x · 18/07/2014 13:39

lil glad every thing is moving along with you, shame it does take so long for everything.

Ginger im pretty sure ive ovulated for the last 3 cycles but this month ill know for sure, im getting more blood tests and im going to try opks again. fx for dhs sa and im sick of it all to its just so hard!!

Vicky least your only waiting for blood test now fx it doesnt take to long after that!!

xBlueberry88x · 18/07/2014 13:36

Thanks ladies I worry about everything and as dp isnt going to be there im even more worried.

HE wont even talk about it because he says its sounds horrible how helpful of him!!

Vicky its on Wednesday next week!!

Ive read that it can help some people get pregnant easier so fingers crossed lol im off next weekend which is around when I should ovulate so planning lots of dtd lol

victoria401 · 18/07/2014 13:26

Good news Lil. Can I ask how old you are? My age is going to go against me big time :-( why didn't I start earlier?! How many funded cycles do you get? Icsi if morphology less than 15%?! My hubby's is 2%! Been trying to nag him to take extra vit c, now I have a reason to nag him more! It apparently helps with antibody unbinding too, which is what he's got too.

ginger good luck with the SA result.

mama how bizzare about your uterus, hope the new position is all it takes!

blue when is your hsg?

Right, after the results for my cd2 comes back, which I've had to take a whole half day off to fit in an appointment!, I can collect my paperwork from the docs and book an appointment directly with the clinic! No waiting for some unknown date in the future to pop through the door. The wait is about 6 weeks ish though for initial appointment and then there is apparently no wait for treatment after you're deemed appropriate and all that jazz. Some people start next cycle! Actually scared shitless to be honest.....

lildottie · 17/07/2014 23:28

blue hsg wasn't too bad at all. it is just like the worst ever period pains you will ever experience. the worst of it lasted less than a minute and after that it was just uncomfortable rather than painful. the xray machine is a bit huge and overwhelming! they also gave me anti biotics to prevent infection. used to be a pessary where I am but luckily they just changed to pills! take a sanitary pad so you don't get one of the ultra undignified NHS ones. I didn't really notice much dye after the initial seepage! I didn't have any bleeding at all, but did have cramps for a couple of hours, nothing unbearable just like AF cramps. oh and I took ibuprofen an hour before. I think. it could have been paracetamol. not sure now. I'm going with ibuprofen. hope that helps.

nice to hear from u mama fx doggy brings you a quick bfp!

ginger fx for the sa

well we had our consultant appointment today. they have confirmed treatment will be icsi because morphology is below 15%. told dh to take 1milogram of vitamin c a day. this is because research shows the non normal swimmers emit free radicals which damage the DNA of the good sperm (Dr described it as the bad ones shooting at the good ones!). the vit c is an antioxidant so reduces the free radicals to give the normal ones a better chance. he also said taking zinc and selenium can't hurt but only evidence for this is a study on bulls not humans so may not help. thought I'd share this wisdom in case it helps any of you guys.

next steps for us are 2 month wait for an appointment to be told about the treatment (why couldn't they do that today?! so inefficient!) then I have to have another appointment to learn how to inject myself then we go ahead with icsi. we should be having treatment within 6 months. it was also reassuring to hear him say he is confident because of my age and test results that we will have a child, naturally or through the ivf. I actually cried at that point. such a pansy!

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 17/07/2014 21:47

Yehhh!!! m33r I am so happy for you!! Bout bloody time someone got a BFP, how utterly wonderful for you, you must be over the moon! Sorry, that's not meant to be as sarcastic as it reads! I am thrilled for you!!

Oh blueberry I'm sorry AF got you again. Was this the month you were certain you had ov'd? hopefully this is the start of regular ov'ing for you, and you will catch it very soon.

vic cannot believe how much you have been messed around. Really shows you you have to follow everything closely, and not rely on these things to just get done. it's so hard though isn't it, having to do all this research and chasing, having to find out for yourself tests you should be having done and what you are entitled to, magic cures that can help you get pg like pineapple juice and vitex. Confused I am just totally exhausted by all the options and research and decisions over what to do this month, when to try and have sex, how to chart my cycle. I am sick of it all, I just want to get pregnant! Sorry, did not expect that to turn into a rant, I'm just sick to my back teeth of the whole thing.
Anyway, glad Dr1 has apologized and is sorting out the whole mess for you vic, have you any ideas how long the referral wait is?
mam that sounds encouraging, hopefully with your new and improved positioning it will work for you!
metal how are you doing? I know what you mean about the mood swings. Good luck with convincing yourself this isn't the month! Wink
We are hoping to get DHs SA results tomorrow, so fingers crossed everybody please that they are ok. Will let you know either way anyway, either to celebrate or commiserate!
Hello to everyone else too X

Mam31 · 17/07/2014 19:19

M33R the thread is called We've got fire in our bellies, we are incubating our little penis dragons. I think that's it anyway! I've spilled the beans to them already I'm afraid, but you will have a nice msg to greet you when you arrive there :)

Get on there, they will be so happy and excited to have you! I'm going on right now to see if you have made it there yet and if not I'm going to have to spill your news to them!!!! ;)
