wannaBe1974 · 31/08/2006 13:27

oh SOH parents are dreadful once they know you're ttc aren't they. I told my mother when my sister had her ds2, she asked if we were going to have any more and I told her we'd been trying for a year but had had no luck so I wasn't hopeful. Now we talk of moving she said to me th other day "what if you have another baby!" to which I replied that I thought that was unlikely, and she replied "but you've only been trying for 17 months, you can't exactly say that can you". oh yeh, my husband has a low sperm count and in 17 months I've been unable to conceive - of course, you know everything and I don't. stupid cow she is.

peachygirl · 31/08/2006 12:59

It was really great I have other photos in front of various landmarks but I won't inflict them on you all yet!!

ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 12:56

Would love to visit Warner Bros studios.

peachygirl · 31/08/2006 12:44

Hi again everyone am bringing this to your attention!!
cheesy photo

ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 12:30

Oh what is it with mothers? Last time my Mum visited I cleaned the house from top to bottom (even the outside of the windows) and what does my dear mother do? She comments that my doorstep needs a 'good going over'. She hadn't even put a foot inside at this point. Grr aargh. I live in Norfolk so a bit of a way from Essex.

ladybump I suppose I'm still ttc in theory, but I haven't ovulated this month. Think I might be a bit wound up about the m/c still so my body has shut down my making babies function while I come to terms with it. The frustrating thing is, since I got pg in July my parents and the ILs know we are trying (dh told them) and every time we phone them I can hear them hoping that we've conceived again. Extra pressure, lovely! It would be the first grandchild for both of them.

ladybump · 31/08/2006 12:14

what a fab house. we really need to sort our garden out. if I had outside area like that I'd sit out in the winter!!!

Is anyone else still ttc or is everyone else still getting over m/c? I'm just carrying on regardless even tho was told to wait for af. Not gonna test if miss af though. Dr said af could take 6-8 weks to return so will test after 8 weeks if no sign.

pinkranger · 31/08/2006 11:54

i am in Kent , not that far, about 1 hour or so from essex - i Know that it takes me 46 minutes to get to lakeside

peachygirl · 31/08/2006 11:54

Hi trace the holiday was really good, very tiring we did lots and lots of things and I'm still waking up at mdnight due to the time change I hope it settles for monday!
I don't know much about essex sorry wannabe but it does sound good if you get a uni and your DH gets a shorter commute.

andi0411 · 31/08/2006 11:51

The Lakes not whatever I put

andi0411 · 31/08/2006 11:50

wannaBe1974 · 31/08/2006 11:50

lol at domestic goddess. Well, that carpet in the lounge is a bitch and I would never, ever, recommend anyone with a toddler and two dogs get a carpet that colour. It shows up every single mark, but it was here when ee moved in and haven't ever got round to replacing it. It definitely needs a steam clean or something because there are marks on it, the agent obviously did well with his camera. spent the weekend cleaning/tidying the house - but ... erm ... if someone would like to tell my mother how tidy you think it is ... she's always telling me I should get a cleaner! lol.

wannaBe1974 · 31/08/2006 11:47

hiya peachy good to see you , it's my current house. Reason we're moving is because dh currently commutes from Swindon to London every day and it takes him two hours each way and that coupled with demanding job is really getting to him now. So we're thinking of moving to Chelmsford in Essex. We were going to move two years ago to Surrey but I had a last minute change of heart and we pulled out at the last minute and bought this house instead. But am at different place in my life now so feel more up to moving away from everyone/everything that is familliar. Plus chelmsford has a university and I can study to become a counsellor and will obtain an actual degree out of that. so all in all it will be a good thing imo . so, does anyone of you live anywhere near essex?

trace2 · 31/08/2006 11:47

wannbe wow thats so big and very nice

ladybump i was wondering about you not seen you about much, i think it was a bad month as there was so many of us who m/c that month.and pinkranger i too pop on to see hoe hopingcat and priffle are , but its stuill hurts when i go on

hi peachy am not to bad, did you have a nice time?

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 11:45

Hey ladybump, how are you chick? I often wonder how you are doing. I know what you mean about avoiding MN for a while. It helps you keep it in perspective. I started having some quite bitter feelings towards ttc and took a big step back as I didn't like it and certainly didn't think it was healthy.

Wannabe, what a beautiful house! Can I ask why you are moving? It's very tidy as well, and how is your sitting room carpet that colour and clean? Your sunflowers are pretty impressive too!

peachygirl · 31/08/2006 11:42

Hi all, Wow, wannabe, is that your current house or one you want to buy? we are thinking of putting ours on the market quite soon.
Hope everyone is ok Pussycat sorry to hear about your (probable) diagnosis,
Gemma seascout good to see you back. I was asking Nat Jane about you a while ago. She's in touch with jen adn I think she is taking a break for a couple of months. We have a gradutes thread in antenatal and Nat and wuzzle are on ther often if you want to drop in.
good to see you Wannabe and trace how are you both?

pinkranger · 31/08/2006 11:41

Wanabe - that looks lovley - so hugh!!!!! Why are you moving?

pinkranger · 31/08/2006 11:40

That July thread must have had a bad omen , there were quite a few of us that didnt make it!!
I stay awway from march thread but sometimes pop on to see how booboodoe ( hopecat!) is doing
Konw what you mean about Dh but not the same as girlies , My best friend lost her baby at 26 week so i have her to talk to but still not easy xx ( Nice to see you around Ladybumpxx)

wannaBe1974 · 31/08/2006 11:37

I think it's so sad. We had so many bfp's on the july thread, and yet so many of them ended in miscarriage. sometimes life just seems so unfair doesn't it?

ok, for the nosy amongst you, my house is

here

ladybump · 31/08/2006 11:22

hi ladies

Pink ranger & SOH i had my bfp in july too but wasn't meant to be. We didn't tell anyone was pg tho and in a way that made it harder as didn't then want to tell people "I was pg but am not any more" so haven't had many people to talk to.

DH is great but not like a girlie chat. Don't feel emotionally strong enough to tell people, even now , weeks later. It's just so bloody hard.get tight throat in strangest of situations. Keep thinking how far i'd be now, punishing myself i know but can't help it.

I was admitted to epu on ward as they thought i had ectopic. Had to watch other pg patients going outside for smoke all the time and was just so hard. Felt little resentful but am getting beyond that now. Try to stay away from mn as find it painful, esp march thread.I just pray it'll all go well next time for us all.

That sofa and wine sounds good!!!!

ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 10:54

And it's one of those sofas that you just sink into, leaving a deep impression of yourself and it's nigh on impossible to get up again.

Same as wannabe I don't drink either so I'll be offering round a selection of teas and some J2Os later on. Oh and biscuits!

I know what you mean about support on here helping more than people realise pinkranger. At first I was mentally kicking myself for telling anybody virtual or otherwise before 12weeks as I knew I was going to have to face explaining what had happened. However, it forced me to deal with it, which otherwise I might have avoided. And there's something so humbling about mothers across the country (and world) offering you support when you most need it. It helps in a way a rl friend couldn't.

pinkranger · 31/08/2006 10:45

Can i add that sitting on a nice big sofa with LOTS of bottle of wine and moaning about how life is such a bitch sometimes sounds so much Fun!

pinkranger · 31/08/2006 10:44

Hi soh - I rember your +tive - seems so long ago now,
Have some great friends around but sometimes feel as know knows excatly what you feel , bit like you when i see the Due in march thread!! Some of you ladies helped me more then you will ever knowxx

ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 10:00

Hey pinkranger. How are you now? I got my positive in July too. It's to be back on the conception threads, but I'm hoping a bit of support will go a long way. Again I'm so sorry about your missed m/c and hope you're getting lots of help and looking after yourself.

ShowOfHands · 31/08/2006 09:53

Crikey! What a flurry of activity. It's nice to see everybody feeling so at home after feeling so lost on the other threads. I have visions of everybody settling down on a big comfy sofa with a glass of wine and their slippers on.

trace hun, sorry I didn't reply last night, got stuck at work and then had to take my cat to the vets. Was exhausted by the time I eventually made it home and started cooking dinner. This is going to sound strange, but it's probably a good thing that you can cry. At least you are facing it and grieving. Personally I keep burying my head in the sand. I have a mental jolt every time I see a pregnant woman or if the 'due in march' thread comes up in active convos. I find myself physically turning my back on it and keeping occupied with something else so that I don't have to face it. It sounds like your little Jack is a star and very excited about his holiday. Have you found parenting very different with him compared to the other two?

Welcome back pussycatmomma! I was thinking about you just the other day and wondering how you and your sister were. Sorry you seem to be having a horrible time, but at least it's all being investigated and treated. My SIL had very severe PCOS and was told she would never conceive. Within six months of this bombshell she fell pg with her little boy. I hope the same happens to you (well not that you're told you can't conceive, you know what I mean!)

Gemmaseascout, what a terrible time you've had but you sound remarkably calm. And 2 stones! Is that through dieting? And I want to see these tattoos. DH keeps talking about getting a tattoo, but I think he's a bit frightened tbh. He had a drip in at the hospital a few years ago and had a panic attack, he's not very keen on needles.

andi you sound so down. I think we can all sympathise. I almost find it funny that DH and I spent seven years desperately trying to prevent conception, worrying about taking the pill at the right time etc etc. Then we started trying to get pg it turns out to be a lot more difficult than anybody ever told me. I blame sex ed. I thought if I looked at a hormone-filled teen I'd be pregnant within seconds. All that tosh about 'you'll be a bit confused and strangely attracted to Rick Astley, your skin will break out in spots, you'll grow hair in strange places' etc etc has not helped with the reality of a woman's cycle!

wannabe- I'm in the middle of house hunting and it's a pita. We're first time buyers which means what little we can afford is snapped up by developers for cash before we can even scrape together a deposit. Do post a link to your house, I'm very nosey! Oh and I don't think you should take a test on holiday with you. I think you should have some time off and enjoy your holiday. That said, if it was me I'd probably ignore my own advice and sneak the test in the case anyway.

Hi Coggy. How's tricks with our head knicker-watcher? Did you see the post yesterday where trace said you were an inspiration? She's right you know, just wanted to make sure you noticed it!

And welcome back from hols Peachy. I'm very as we didn't manage a holiday this year. We were booked to go away but I ended up being quite poorly and we had to cancel.

I hope I haven't missed anybody out. Good morning!
