"he does have hairy builders type crack thingy going on"

If he's not a 6'2 hunk he could at least be a cheery little chappy with a whistle and a smile (ShowOfHands clearly thinks it is still 1950).

My vices are gingerbread and peeing on sticks. One of these things I will not do if we ever meet up.

coggy · 06/09/2006 14:49

Hi Andi , glad you had a nice time, we are of for a romatic ( Plus group of 10 freinds ) weekend at end of september and so looking forwward to it ,

You never know we all may be brave enough one day to meet up, that would be fun!!! Biscuit, tea and booze all round - Now you all know my vices!

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 14:18

It's never like it is on the telly is it andi? I bet he's not 6'2 with taut muscles and his shirt off either is he? Go and stand over him and wag your finger till he does the job he's paid for.

andi0411 · 06/09/2006 14:06

Thanks for the lovely welcome back and I am going to try to post more - i like you ladies on here- you're fun and informative and giving. i hope i can help someone , sometime with care like you have all helped me and so many others- i think strong bonds can be formed in this vitual world....perhaps we should meet up 1 day...consumate our relationship- so to speak- with the real life oysters and champers......

On to more mundane matters - going to supervise the man who is altering my kitchen (but in the 2 hours he has been here has had 4 cups of tea- 8 biscuits and 19 cigerettes- plus spent 90% of the time on the phone....gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 14:01

Andi I'm glad you had such a wonderful time. It's very important to remind yourself of why you are together and to just enjoy that for what it is every so often. I really do hope that you fall pg without any advanced procedures, but it is such a reassurance to know that you are in this together and have discussed the eventualities.

It's good to see you back, just in time there's a lot of baby dust flying around!

andi0411 · 06/09/2006 13:52

Wanted to say first- so happy about you're bfp-and i know that you mean about telling folk...i wouldn't the next time round- just me, dp and 1 million virtual friends lol. Good luck- stay here, you need your security of familiar people right now i think.
Ah SOH what a trip...we went to the Lake District and stayed in Windermere but toured round abit. Stayed in a cheap- but v romantic- b and b. Discussed the poss of not having children-something we've never spoke about...and adoption and advanced fertility treatment. Just got back to basics with why we're together in the first place. Becasue we love each other- we want kids for all the right reasons- but we will still be together if it doesn't happen.
Going to give it our all for a few more years- I'm 34 in Nov- so still heaps of time.
Happy to be chatting with you all again though.

andi0411 · 06/09/2006 13:44

Ps I have to agree with Coggy in that if i had been on mn since i first ttc i would have been on every new thread for the past 3 yrs with breaks for pg and mc- how demoralising would that be?

I'd just like to add that although I don't post here alot have always felt welcome on any thread- how many women in RL can talk to a 'room'- vitual or otherwise of like minded folk who really do have a clue what you're going on about?

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 13:44

Should really follow that with a

Tell us about your trip andi.

O dear oh dear, what a dissapointment that people need to post negative comments like the one below.

I only discovered mumsnet about 3-4 months ago,(but 2 years ttc) and in this time everyone has been a great support. I got my BFP and I know everyone is chufed for me but I just want to show my support to all those who have been here longer than others. They have all offered support and advice over the past few months and it has been greatly appreciated.

Im wishing baby dust to all on this thread, and dont let negative comments from one anonymous mumsnetter upset you.

dd1

ShowOfHands · 06/09/2006 13:25

Pinkranger he was lovely and particularly gorgeous. He's from NZ and along with all the medical dos and don'ts he also said all the things everybody here says- enjoy it, relax, pamper yourself, get your dh to look after you etc. He also mentioned how wonderful Toni Weschler was and moaned about this country's attitude to fertility issues. Lovely man all round!

pinkranger · 06/09/2006 13:20

Totally agree with everything you said about that poster wannabe! Sorry you are not ging on hols coggy , feel that i could go away right now

Have a nice time to everyone going away!
