wannbe , coggy pussycat, anyone else from ttc jan thread whos not got there bfp

hee hee- you must go to my 'salon'...
also i always look like i haven't slept in a week/ am anaemic pasty faced and haggered. Everyone else seems so slim, toned, tanned etc- its v depressing- sometimes I do my hair before i go to the hairdressers- how sad is that?

I hate the way they look at me as if I've crawled out from under a rock. They always blather on about hair care routines and intensive conditioner. I tell them I wash my hair once a week, condition it and let it dry naturally and they drop their scissors and stare in disgust. And the water's never warm enough when they wash it so when they ask 'warm enough love?', what do I do but lie and nod as the shape of those ridiculous sinks sends shooting pains down my neck. And all the conditioner they use smells of frickin' coconut and the Saturday girls stand around chewing gum and looking so bored that by the process of osmosis, their disenchantment seeps into my soul and I slump in the stupid leather chair and stare at myself in disgust for half an hour.

And I pay for this.

Yes its the tedium really that gets me when i go to the hairdressers- i know they can't be bothered any more than i can, but i tell them about my holiday and job etc and they nod and tell me their stuff and i nod and on it goes... it's only ever layering from now until the grave- YES i will be an old lady with long hair -in a bun if i want!!!

I'm terrible with my hair too. I dyed it lots as a teen, had incredibly long hair and made a real effort. Then cut it all off at 16 and hated it. I wore a hat for 18 months while it grew out and then developed a phobia about having it cut. I actually left it for two years before going to the hairdressers shaking and sweating. I had it about half way down my back until six months ago when I had it cut to shoulder length. It's light brown, with layers and sort of flicks out at the bottom. It's my one feature I never get fed up with. I only wash it once a week and it's never greasy or dry.

Still, hate the hairdressers, all those questions about hair care routines and holidays and having to look at yourself in a mirror. Eugh! And offering you a cuppa and cutting hair into it. And all the magazines are always two months out of date and about celebrities I have never heard of. I once considered shaving my head. Hmm...I wonder...

I usually have my hair cut every six weeks but I've accidently forgotton to go.......................................since Christmas!!!!!

Yes.....I'm back..........and no-body noticed my (friend's) halfa moustache!!!!!

1 cut and bloe dry here too- I'm never adventurous with my hair- too many disasters in my teens with perms etc...

I have very straight long brown hair- a bit layered...what about your good self?

SOH i have just pmsl at your little description of this 'freak show'!! What a motley crue we sound...hairy cracks, tashed ladies, slatterns etc and that's just me- only joking
Have fab week end everyone - with wedings etc ..i am having my hair done in the morning, then lunch with my poor tashed mother- god love her- then a meal out tomorrow night with the dp. Lovely. xx

For the record I never pluck my eyebrows and I don't wear make-up either. I'm far too lazy! I occasionally brush my hair when the gas man comes round though. I read somewhere that plucking doesn't make hair grow back thicker, that's a myth. It's just that short hair looks and feels thicker as it is growing.

Natty you sound so happy today! I'm happy too, I love Fridays, it's the promise of the weekend that does it. DH knew I had my eye on the bag, so bought it for- and I quote- "shopping for baby stuff". I love it, but I think it wouldn't meet MN's 'style' criteria. I might post a link to it so you can laugh at it!

I am lucky and blonde so don't have this problems saying that my eye brows do need waxing and i really should get it done soon maybe this weekend.

SOH - you make me what a lovely DH, did you choose your bag or did DH just buy it for you? My DP would never buy me a new bag, say's i have too many bags and shoes.

I am also going to read Bubble on line diary when i get a spare few hours as i am interested. Really hope coggy and AH don't have to go down that route but at least in your mind you know the next step and maybe one step closer to holding that baby we all want.

Anyway off to make lunch for my friend as she is popping over for the afternoon.

Coggy- with you on the eyebrows- mine are black. My mum has a 'tash- god love her - and says no no to plucking- makes it grow back thicker- so your...friend may have a lop-sided tash now...

I.......I mean my friend.......has plucked one side of her moustache to see if it grows back worse then she can compare it to see if it's worth doing the other side too!!!!!!
