Must admit the hairdressers is always more of a chore than a pleasure. And to think how much money we leave behind. I always worry if I'm not nice to them that I'll leave looking like a muppet! LOL

Hi Angsth- yes i've seen this contradictory advice. I'm not sure what to think. Perhaps it's one of those where someone was advised by their doc to take it for a particular thing and then told others about it, but really you need your doc to tell you to take it etc... I think I'll leave well alone for the mo!! Thanks anyway

I've got the grapefruit juice/ the cough med/ the flaxseed / b6/ folic acid/ multi vit- do you think that's enough to be going on with? lol

I asked about the baby aspirin on a thread and got shot down in flames. I think it's supposed to help with getting blood to the Uterus ?? Not sure, but the advise I got was under no circumstances should you take it unless explicitly told to do so by your doctor.

I decided to leave well alone, but there are others on here who recommend it.

I think we'll get married abroad- my brother lives in Aus and I'd like him and his kids involved- don't think me unkind if i say i don't really want my parents there, they have caused me and my brother immeasurable misery over the years and i want a fun , happy day not hell.

Still laughing about the hairdressers- after all my trauma- i only got a trim- you can hardly tell. I wish i was ike your pal, Coggy, who can demand silence- but i can't i just let her go on about her sex life and alcohol consumption - i felt like shouting-Little Britain style ' I'M A LADY!!!!' [GRIN] BUT I DIDN'T. also i had made myslf up and done my blooming hair just to go....mad or what?

My DH's proposal was hilarious "If I were to ask you to marry me, what would you say?"!!! I should have said ask me, but didn't want to put him through any more agony.

Didn't manage the whole w/e without any alcohol, but pretty pleased with my relative abstainence.

Re the hairdressers. The only way I survive is if I wear make-up so when I look in the mirror it's not as pasty, sad and old as it would be au natural. I hardly ever wear make-up so I feel relatively glam compared to normal.

Andi, you're going to be a Mrs! Lovely. And it's good to have something else 'big' to focus on other than ttc iyswim. Any ideas about the big day? You said overseas, where were you thinking? How's the hair? I have a bob now, shortest it's ever been but I really like it.

Coggy, Ring is a thriller, it builds up slowly and the end is truly frightening. I'd recommend it but you must watch the Japanese original, much better than the US version. I've seen Skeleton Key too, you're right it's pretty obvious who's up to no good, but the twist's pretty unexpected. I loved the name of one of the characters, something like Papa Justify. Is that right? DH forced me to sit through Silent Hill the other day, which wasn't as bad as anticipated but really the level of violence was so unnecessary. And the female leads were laughable in their tight leather clothes and heaving bosoms (I read somewhere that when the screenwriter originally pitched the idea it was turned down because there were zero men in the film). He rewrote it to include a male detective and Sean Bean with a strange American accent. All very odd. Anyway, made DH watch Walk The Line as punishment and it was absolutely fab. Have you seen it?

Oh and for the record RUNNING MAN IS TERRIFYING. That guy with the hockey stick?

Hi ladies - thanks so much for the good wishes ..I have been on cloud nine this week-end...
Well SOH we were in the restaurant and he had chosen a booth at the back, I never thought anything of it, and we proceeded to have a lovely meal and were very romantic etc.. then when we left and got home- we live in the middle of nowhere- he said lets go out for a walk, so we did and we climbed the hill behind our house and he just GOT DOWN ON ONE KNEE and pulled the ring out and asked. I started blubbing and forgot to answer. Just a lovely memory to treasure now. First man i have ever wanted to marry.

Coggy- you and Soh are right up my street with these films- I love Running Man too and lso have seen the original Ring- now that film did terrify me, and I'm not easily scared.

I generally hate Arnold Schwarzecschewarndegeegeegerggeeggger movies BUT I LOVE Running Man......it's FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABBBBBB!!!

My DH thinks I'm mad because I try my hardest to avoid any action-men-type films and he doesn't get my obsession with that one!!!

Not seen 'The Ring'.....is it similar to 'Dark Waters' - a thriller rather than a horror film?

We saw 'Skeleton Key' last night and that was very good.......I sussed the guilty culprits within the first ten minutes but it had a twist at the end that I didn't expect at all......that is my perfect type of film.

I love getting it right but I also love that little extra surprise I didn't think of!!!

And yes......DH was a shivering wreck again.......might go for Bambi next time!!!

Andi! Very many congratulations to you chick. Ooh I love a good wedding but I'm afraid you'll have to give us some more details. One knee? Did he have a ring? Tears? Feel free to tell me I'm a nosey old bag. I'm just jealous because when dh proposed to me I didn't hear him and muttered something about 'mmm, yes dear'. I kid you not.

Coggy, I've seen Dark Water, it's quite spooky. Have you seen the original Ring film? I think it's by the same guy and certainly one of the scariest things I've ever watched. IMHO the scariest film ever made is that Running Man one with Arnold Schwarzecschewarndegeegeegerggeeggger in it. I can't watch it because I have an irrational fear that it's going to come true and one day we'll all be watching gameshows where convicted criminals are hunted for sport.

It's very quiet on here of late. Don't tell me you all have lives outside of MN? Had a great weekend. Went to a family wedding yesterday but I'm shattered as I had to drive up and back in one day, 300 mile round trip. We got in at 3am and it was during the return journey that my ms decided to hit with a vengeance. Feeling a wee bit nauseous this morning too. Still, we told my grandma that I'm pg yesterday. She's nearly 80 and I don't see her often. She's been told it's a secret, only her and my DH know. She cried bless her!

Anyway, I'm wearing the MN slattern hat this morning. Got to go and get dressed, going to my brother and SIL's for a roast. Yum yum, Sunday dinner, all of the trimmings and I don't have to cook it. It's going to be a good day (when the nausea subsides!)

It was called 'Dark Water' or something like that.
We tend to watch thrillers as horror films don't do it for me.
I'd much rather have a dark pshycological thriller any day - although I tend to work lots of the plot out near the beginning!!!

I went out yesterday afternoon for a few drinks which turned into too many and am suffering a bit today, i don't know why i didn't just go home earlier, it's like i lose all my brain cells when i am out drinking. Oh well no more booze for me for a while, but now i want pick and mix after reading SOH had one last night, think i may go buy one in a minute.

Moring ladies- oops it's the afternoon and guess what? I'm not dressed yet- slatternly slovern or what? But I have a good reason..I was up very late last night after my lovely meal spending time with my lovely dp who proposed to me last night. !!!! Oh and i said yes...

We have been together for years- he was married before and i never really was too bothered about it as my parents had an awful marriage but i lost/ re- found my faith recently and we had discussed it. But now we are to wed next year...something overseas and private i hope.

Coggy, what film did you watch?

We went to see The Amityville Horror (remake) on honeymoon- tres romantic- and DH screamed in the cinema. We were staying in Edinburgh that night and as we walked home at midnight across the deserted city, DH was in a right old state! I think me telling ghost stories didn't help. He's a bit... er ... "sensitive".

Oh....and I will pass on your kind thoughtfulness to my friend when I next see her thank you SOH!!!!!!

Yes Andi....I am a teacher (sorry meant to answer that when you asked earlier and forgot!!) I only work part-time so I went back this week for one day and then the rest of the week off - lovely!!!

The fact that I now have a sore throat from one blinkin' day at work is pretty rubbish tho!!!

Oh God I'm glad it's not just me. Everybody seems to love going to 'salons'. I despise it and the smell gets up my nose too!

Still, I like my hair looking nice and it's a family wedding I'm going to tomorrow with lots of relatives I see very infrequently, so it's good to make the effort. And I've heard your hair changes later on in pg so I'm making the most of it now!

PS Coggy I'll book you into the salon for a 'tache dyeing session, ok?
