Awkward moment alert!! MrsE, I think it was you who coined the phrase 'bath swallowing'? At church this morning, I had a bath swallower moment when my morning bath decided to make an appearance! Soooo embarassing!!!

That does sound frustrating rambini.

bella I've never spoke to anyone in HR so I can't absolutely confirm it but that is how I read the maternity leave rules too. But I believe you get something similar (maternity allowance) from the Government if you don't qualify for SMP from your employer provided you have been in employment for a certain length of time (so this applies if you change jobs while pregnant). I think this is what retro is referring to.

theduchesse · 04/05/2014 11:17

Ah seems so very different for everyone, from 24 hours from light to dark, to 4 days. Well that gives me hope anyway that it's not necessarily too long until I ov even though my line is still faint.

tobiano · 04/05/2014 11:15

ahhhh thank you kurama

in that case I'll rewrite lol

tobiano - 35, ttc#4, cycle 1, BFP due 11th May (I think as cant pinpoint my first day of last af)

seems ages away!!!!

RetroHippy · 04/05/2014 11:12

bellaboo no idea! I'm winging it at the moment, figure as long as you have been doing work of some description for at least 6 months before giving birth you're entitled to smp or at least maternity allowance don't quote me on that and in my job I don't get omp until I've been there 24 months, and I'm hoping it doesn't take that long.

We waited long enough for things to be right, we'll manage whatever happens!

kurama · 04/05/2014 11:09

tobi bfp is the date your period/af is due. or the date you get a Big Fat Possitive on a pregnancy testGrin

kurama · 04/05/2014 11:07

oooh and drake is being addwd to my list too Wink

rambini · 04/05/2014 11:06

Morning all Smile sorry af has reared her ugly head spinning. But I am pleased u get to have another go on the May bus.
Fx for you kitty I hope af stays the hell away and u get ur bfp.
duchesse i am afraid i cannot be much help to you re opks, other than that I am getting infuriated by them! Is my first month using cbafm, and I have long cycles so figure I ovulate around the day 22 mark. Cbafm has had me poas since day 6! And since day 8 its been showing highs. Now day 15 and still showing highs. I am exhausted from dtd already! WHERE ARE YOU PEAK?!

tobiano · 04/05/2014 11:03

Can anyone confirm to me the whole new job/TTC thing...am I right in thinking you need to be in new job for at least a week before the cycle in which you conceive?

RetroHippy · 04/05/2014 10:10

My IC OPKs tend to get gradually darker, then one day it'll be very obviously dark, then fade again the next day.

I've temped as well, and the day I got my +ve was the day my temp started rising on the one normal cycle I seem to have had

Doing both again this cycle, CD 8 today so will be expecting to see it getting slightly darker from now if I'm ovulating on CD12 ('normal' cycle). I'm using them for peace of mind as last month I timed ov by using cervical Lucas and position and was a crucial 6 days out Sad. This way, I have three ways of knowing if and when I ovulated!

ChaircatMiaow · 04/05/2014 10:01

Hi duchesse, in my experience this cycle, the line went from light to dark in the space of 24 hours and has gotten marginally lighter over the past few days. My suggestion is to keep a stash of CB OPKs for confirmation if you're unsure

theduchesse · 04/05/2014 09:41

Thanks kitty. So how many days before you got your positive did the line start getting darker?

A smiley face would certainly be a bit more satisfying than trying to compare lines spinning. Maybe I'll upgrade to a divi next cycle if I don't get my bfp this time.

spinningirl10 · 04/05/2014 09:31

Thanks Mel, I'll speak to my doc on Tuesday and she what she says.

Duchess, yes my lines are quite faint on opk's and then it will be dark when you get a positive. I use ic's so that I can test twice a day as also use a CB one when I get a dark line to get the smiley faceGrin

KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2014 09:30

Hi duchesse! Back in Jan when I was using Boots own brand OPK and gradually saw the line get a little bit darker but then it never went the same as the control line and got angry at them!
Feb, I graduated to cb Digi OPKs and I saw the line get darker whenever I took the sticks out and on CD18 on FMU the line was early as dark but still flashing smiley. Tested at 4pm that same day and got a solid smiley and the lines were the same darkness as each other.

Last two cycles on CB digis, haven't really seen the two lines get darker but only tested with FMU; so possibly anovulatory cycles. Will match up with temping next month Dragon HTH

Go jump your DH spotti, great to hear you've got your +opk. So help a fellow newbie to opk's. Did you go straight from very faint one day to positive the next? My lines have been equally faint every day since I started testing. I'm now cd12, and I wouldn't really expect a positive yet because I have long cycles but I am hoping I will ov in the next week so just want to know what to expect to see.

Oh, I'll also add some Dragon Dragon Dragon's to help those swimmers reach the egg spotti and everyone else around ov time.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 04/05/2014 09:10

Congrats Linda!!!! Grin

I'm not feeling too hopeful. No symptoms at all. Just feel very normal. After plenty of DTD over the crucial period I felt so positive but it's dwindling as i get closer to AF due date. 10dpo. Usually have a 12 day lp, so can expect to see her Wednesday. Hmm

theduchesse · 04/05/2014 09:05

I'm the same toots. I've got at least 2 weeks to wait, probably more like 3 (haven't ovulated yet and my cycles are all over the place so don't really know when I will) so I just want to see some other people get their bfp's in the meantime.

toots123 · 04/05/2014 08:52

Exciting kitty!! Af isnt due for a while yet so hoping for lots of bfp's between now and when I hopefully get mine!!

KittyVonCatsington · 04/05/2014 08:49

Hi toots and Jo!! I'm going to wait and see if AF turns up tomorrow morning. If not...

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Jo that you are one of the lucky few who are super fertile after an early mc. Dragon

Jo178 · 04/05/2014 08:39
