3 month break after 'delayed period'??

Fingerscrossed10 · 30/04/2014 18:39

Hi ladies,
I have just suffered 2 'delayed periods' both with positive tests pregnancy tests and all the symptoms. I have no idea why and the doctor just said 'chin up and keep trying' but also recommended a 3 month break. When I queried this he could offer no medical reason as to why!
Just wondered if anyone else has been in this situation and seen a more helpful doctor than mine!!!

Not taking for granted for a second how very lucky we are Smile. Thank you so much for your support, its been so good to know I have someone on here to chat to whichever way it went!

Haha! Oh no, wouldnt want you to ruin your chances Wink !

Thanks so much, you are so kind and talking to someone other than my dp who is quite justifiably fed up of my worrying (although he doesnt say so in as many words!) really helps. I will definately come back to update no matter what! Sending you lots of luck for this month too x

Fingerscrossed10 · 31/05/2014 19:37

I don't blame you for keeping it a secret for now or for your silence on here, I think the shock is totally understandable! It's scary stuff and so out of our control!
Don't worry your secret is safe with me ( and the other people who happen to read this!!)
I'm a week later and due the 21st
I'm keeping everything crossed for you... Well not everything I am in my fertile phase afterall!!!
Good luck!! X

Ahh thank you that's so lovely of you! And i'm sorry again, I felt awful not coming back on but when I got my bfp I was scared to be excited and kindve went into a bit of shock I suppose. Only me and my dp know and I dont even feel like its real. I don't think i'll be able to get excited unless it is good news on the scan so really trying to block it out at the moment.

I'm going to keep myself off google and anything to do with pregnancy until after my scan I think but thank you so much for your support and I will definately come back and update you whatever happens! Scan is on 12th so will be back then! And I think you will be coming towards the end of your tww by then?! So make sure you keep me posted too! X

Fingerscrossed10 · 31/05/2014 16:53

Oh wow! I guessed there was something going on but poor you what a roller coaster of emotions you must be going through!!
As hard as it must be you must take some comfort in the fact it's being monitored so closely and just keep everything crossed for the next 2 weeks.
Big congrats to you make sure you make take it easy and please do keep me updated!!

Ahh thats really good, will be keeping my fingers crossed that this is your month!

Haha well a week last tuesday I decided last thing at night to do a test the next morning. I wanted to do a dye test but the local tesco only had digis! Then I woke up at 3.30am, couldnt decide whether that counted as fmu but my dp said go for it....so in the middle of the night I did my test and within 30 seconds it popped up bfp 2-3 weeks!! I didnt sleep the rest of the night!

I have been terrified to get excited though and that is kindve why I didnt come back on here, I am just scared that if I say it to anyone it will jinx it somehow. I just keep expecting to see blood again.

Then on Wednesday I started having niggling pains in my right side. I wasnt too worried until I went to the loo on thursday evening and had the teeniest bit of spotting. So I rang the epu for some advice as I estimated I was around 6 weeks yesterday so had made it past the chemical pregnancy stage. They were lovely and told me to come in right away. When I was examined the doctor was concerned that it might be ectopic so booked me in for a scan the next morning.

I had my scan yesterday morning and saw the sac...it was good news, all is in the right place thank god and they said I am about 5.5 weeks. However they couldnt see all the membranes around the sac and there was no heartbeat just a sac. They said they dont normally scan so early to check the baby so it is more than likely because it is too early. It is procedure to scan again now though so I need to go back in two weeks to check the pregnancy has developed. Naturally I am now worrying sick that something is wrong and that there will be no heart beat etc but will just have to try to put it to the back of my mind and stay positive because it is going to be a long two weeks! I am also staying away from google on this as I know I cant do anything about the outcome.

Sorry for the essay!!

Fingerscrossed10 · 31/05/2014 13:29

Things are good with me back trying again and am feeling hopeful!

Fingerscrossed10 · 21/05/2014 19:36

Haha!! I know exactly what you mean!! Both have pros and cons! I just feel the words take away that uncertainty, somehow it just seems more real seeing it in black and white and not a vague pink line!
How you feeling today? I reckon you might be drinking lemonade on sat night!!
I had the same as you today, a tiny bit of random stuff and thought I was out but nothing since... Will see what happens next but don't think I've been lucky this month!

I know what you mean, I really cant decide whether a digital would be best because it stops the over analysing of the line darkness, but I got a positive on a digital before the chemical last month so maybe would give me false hope if it did come back positive. Also worse seeing the words "not pregnant" is a killer. So hard to decide!

I have had light cramps on and off but mainly on for a week now. I also keep thinking my nipples feel sensitive every now and then, but they have been a bit sensitive since I stopped bf my ds two months ago so that one might just be coincidence.

If it helps, I really don't actively symptom spot in the 2ww because with my ds my first symptom was really sensitive nipples which didnt start until I was about 6 weeks and nausea didnt start until 6-7 weeks so ime symptoms came later. Different for everyone though, do you feel any?

What makes you think it wont be good news?

Fingerscrossed10 · 20/05/2014 21:06

I went for an early response and a digital clear blue! No idea what's best really!!
Have you got any symptoms? I don't feel anywhere near as bad as last month but can't decide if that's a valid comparison really, What do you think?
My hopefulness is seriously fading the closer I get to af due date!

Haha I know what you mean, what brands do you go for?

I vowed last month not to test until a week after I was due so i'm trying to stick to that. I guess I feel like as long as i'm not bleeding there is still hope whereas once I have that bfn it's over! Also like you say, even if it was positive I'd be just waiting to start bleeding again.

I would probably try and leave it longer if I didn't have this wedding on saturday which i need to know before!

Fingerscrossed10 · 20/05/2014 18:19

Yes treats definitely help with the disappointments!!
Wow 4 days late! Can't believe you haven't cracked and tested already! But completely understand your fear, it's not like a positive test is going to mean much to us!! I fear this worry won't end until we get those scans done....
I have stocked up on tests today, I have no idea what way it's going to go for me this month but whatever happens I know I'm not going to believe just one!!!

Well at least we have something to look forward to, I find allowing myself non pregnancy treats like that really helps!

Well af didnt come as expected, must have been a random bit of funny coloured cm. So four days late now but more than likely related to the chemical last month messing my cycle up. Perhaps I didn't ovulate or am just late. Too scared to test just yet after last month!

Fingerscrossed10 · 20/05/2014 07:35

Oh that's sounds like a great idea to cheer yourself up! I'm thinking the same as I am out to dinner sat night!
Think I will test sat am if still no af by then. Still not feeling very hopeful about it though!
How are you feeling today?

YouMaySayImADreamer · 19/05/2014 21:49

Thank you! I hope so too but definately feeling i'm not going to be now. Was going to test Friday if I hadn't had af. If I get af tomorrow though, my friend gets married on saturday and I am going to get very drunk for once!!

Hope you get through the last few days ok, when are you going to test?

Fingerscrossed10 · 19/05/2014 21:46

Oh it's so hard! Really feel for you! Hopefully it was just a random bit of stuff and not af!!
I don't know might just be imagining it all!! We will see....

YouMaySayImADreamer · 19/05/2014 21:33

Haha sorry i'm terrible at this!

I really dont know to be honest...when I saw it, I had a good cry and thought that was it and I still think I will probably come on properly tomorrow. But am surprised I haven't this evening and still feel a little bit hopeful but don't want to get my hopes up!

Ooh that does sound promising though for you! The wait is awful isnt it because you cant help getting your hopes up! Fingers crossed for you though!!

Fingerscrossed10 · 19/05/2014 21:26

Haha!! What you doing?! You're confusing me with all these different names!!
Do you think you are definitely out now??
I don't want to get my hopes up but I have sore boobs!! Still 3 days until af is due and it may just be that on its way!! Didn't get my bfp til I was a week late last time... Bored of waiting too!!!!
Fingers crossed xxx
