TTC First Time - Anyone else?

My husband and I are TTC! I have been off the pill for a month now and have started taking folic acid and calcium with vit D to ensure if anything does happen I'm as healthy as possible. Limiting caffeine and alcohol but not cutting it out completely as you never know how long it will take! All my friends have just fallen pregnant really easily, but I have a feeling this will not be the case for me. I can't remember when my last period was either which is annoying as will need to wait for the next one before I can chart etc. Hmm Is anyone else out there TTC now? We could all share our stories and encourage each other! Smile

I have a really stressful job and worry that might not help. Also recently lost a good friend & colleague in very tragic circumstances which isn't helping. Meanwhile I'm surrounded by pregnant women :-(
5th cycle 1st time TTC.

Welcome Phoenix & Lovelife! I'm on #1 cycle 2 this month - the average is a year so although it's frustrating (especially when you're impatient like me! Wink ) I don't think any of us have anything to worry about yet Grin

Welcome to the group Phoenix and LoveLife Smile

TTC is such a rollercoaster of emotions and we've only been TTC for 1 cycle...I'll dread to think what I'll be like next month hoping that this will be my time (even though I know it can take many months).

Jdear - sorry to hear you're having a rough AF too, it's the pits, especially when you don't want it to! I really hope it wasn't CP for you Sad On a positive note, congratulations on your promotion, you must be really chuffed!! Smile

Fingers crossed this month (or next) will be positive news for everyone Smile

LoveLife00 · 08/05/2014 14:16

Hello everyone! New to Mums Net, be kind to me! Me and the hubby have been TTC for 4 months. I know its early days but its starting to become stressful which worries me. Friends around me having trouble, SIL recently adopted and best friends just had a baby after 3 rounds of IVF. Makes me feel scared it wont happen for me.

Phoenix860 · 08/05/2014 14:08

Can I join?! TTC #1 Cycle 6 really hoping for a BFP this month! OPK came up with a strong positive this morning Smile trying not to get all my hopes up as I do get upset when mean old AF joins the party! I have a regular cycle both of us are fit and healthy so I guess we're waiting on mother nature to do her thing!

jdear · 08/05/2014 13:58

ps sorry for tmi!!!

jdear · 08/05/2014 13:48

Sorry havent had chance to post since my initial posts a few days ago, i have been busy preparing for an interview (which i have now had and got the promotion woo).

Durham sorry it wasnt good news this month. its a real rollercoaster isnt it. Im on day 4 of a usual 6 day period... i swear its different this month....arrived on time but its more painful, heavier, heavier for longer with lots of bright red blood and some clots (some are quite big). My periods are all usually the same so im wondering if it might be a chemical pregnancy.....? Didnt test before as using AF to guide us at the min.

Hope everyone is still feeling positive!

HippyStar · 08/05/2014 13:10

Sorry to hear that Durham, fingers crossed for next month. Sad Katy that is exciting news, first cycle here you come!

Well AF has arrived dead on time, so disappointed Sad so here's to TTC cycle #2!

Katy - I feel the same as you, would love to look for another job but now feel trapped in a job I hate for the Mat leave. Very frustrating.

Yes I do, I'm so bored in my current job, however I will have been here for 3 years in spetember so feel like if we are TTC I may as well hang it out a couple of years and enjoy the longer fully paid maternity leave even if it does mean being bored Grin DH is away this week but back on Saturday, which co-incides with my estimated time to dtd! Excited to see if this month is the month, although I had a really fun day out with my friends last weekend and couldn't help feeling like there will be an end to all that... Hmm

Hi guys sorry I've been out of loop away with work which I hate. Sorry Durham that your having such a poor time, that's no good.
I'm desperate to start trying 2 pills left. Then 5 day 'period' and then it starts am praying it happens fast as really want this now.
Also compounded by hating job, but feel v trapped as I want to stay for the may leave. Anyone else feel like that?

Thanks Gem & HippyStar, apologies for sounding so negative, just feeling a little rough today.

It's good to have you guys to talk to on here. Even though my OH is very supportive, when it comes to talking about periods etc he just doesn't know what to say/do...bless him!

Gem - I can usually tell when I ovulate as I have a sharp sensation one side of my lower stomach, the tugging sensation could be implantation pains...fingers crossed! Smile

DurhamRed you can still spot when pregnant! I'd leave it for 48 hours or so and run another test - good luck Smile

DurhamRed · 07/05/2014 14:15

OK, seriously not having a good week. For the last 4/5 days I have been feeling really sick and so tired, today have vomited a few times. AF is due tomorrow, thought it started yesterday as I had some spotting (very very small amount) and same this morning but nothing more. This has never happened before as I'm normally so regular that I could tell you the time my period will start!

I tested today but was BFN. I think my body is being exceptionally cruel to me Sad

HippyStar · 07/05/2014 14:05

Sorry I haven't taken part in this, I've been away! No luck on the first go - not that I was expecting it anyway!! Fingers crossed for this month. How is everybody else going? It is a rolercoaster - thinking - oh well if i decide I'm not ready I could pull out now, but knowing deep down you won't because even though you don't feel ready you want a baby, then the hopeful dtd - ing followed by the excited hopeful wait followed by disappointment! We are back to the hopeful build up this month though Grin

Hi everyone, dp and I are also ttc our first baby. I came off the pill at Xmas but up to now we have been quite relaxed about trying, in the hope that it would 'just happen', like it seems to for practically all our friends. Af is due May 8th and I'm pretty sure it's coming, so next month I plan on charting and using ov's to see if they help. It'd be nice to speak to other people ttc, as it's getting pretty stressful!

Ikkleme · 06/05/2014 21:30

Oh god lulu! Doesn't sound good! However I wish DP was interested lol

LuluJakey1 · 06/05/2014 20:31

And I have a sore throat, achey boobs, and feel like AF about to start- don't think is due for 10 days! Just want to go to bed, alone, and sleep. DH wants to tell me about the things he has been researching today while poorly- best things to do to conceive. Say he feels much better after his bath and rest. Oh go away!

LuluJakey1 · 06/05/2014 19:49

Well, this has been a great start to TTC. DTD last night- lovely. DH then gets up about 2 am and I can hear him vomitting in loo. Eventually, I go along and he is in bathroom cleaning his teeth. Thinks he might have eaten something dodgy. Spends rest of night up and down vomitting. Has not been to work. I have just come home to find him looking a bit better and he said ' Are we on for later on then? Don't want to miss a night do we love?' Well.......actually......I do want to miss a night. I don't want to catch the bug.He is looking hurt. Hmm

I've done so much research too I feel as though I no everything that's going to happen off by heart!

DurhamRed · 06/05/2014 16:44

JDear - we are exactly like you, I'm sitting right next to my OH writing this and he has no idea...he'd probably just roll his eyes at me if he knew Smile

Katy - you right, staying positive is a good thing. I'm sure a BFP will happen for all of us soon Smile
