TTC First Time - Anyone else?

My husband and I are TTC! I have been off the pill for a month now and have started taking folic acid and calcium with vit D to ensure if anything does happen I'm as healthy as possible. Limiting caffeine and alcohol but not cutting it out completely as you never know how long it will take! All my friends have just fallen pregnant really easily, but I have a feeling this will not be the case for me. I can't remember when my last period was either which is annoying as will need to wait for the next one before I can chart etc. Hmm Is anyone else out there TTC now? We could all share our stories and encourage each other! Smile

Congratulations Kitten, that's fab news :-)

kittenmamma · 19/08/2014 22:44

Erm. Well I came off the pill mid may, then had my usual period 30 days later, my next one didn't come but I was testing negative so I left it to see if this one came. I'm now 4 days late for my second one and have tested positive! So I guess three months till I found out but with the missed periods I think it was the second month, just late implantation and low hormones. Technically I'm 9 weeks!!

idlefolly · 19/08/2014 22:40

Congratulations kitten!!! GrinGrinGrin How long were you TTC?

kittenmamma · 19/08/2014 22:21

idlefolly · 18/08/2014 21:20

Yes I've been taking Pregnacare conception vits and when they ran out I got the Sanatogen 'his and hers' vits. Have been taking them since I had implant out. x

kathd05 · 18/08/2014 20:54

kat xx??

idlefolly · 18/08/2014 12:18

Hi kath, I'm jumping on this thread too!
I had nexplanon implant for five years, had it removed on 08/07 and still waiting for AF (it will be 6 wks tomorrow). DH and I are taking pre-conception vitamins but we haven't really started TTC properly yet as I want an AF first so I can track etc... And it just feels right/healthier for some reason! Otherwise it's a bit like trying in the dark. Have been looking into pre-seed today and might give that a go! FX AF arrives soon so I can get going! Grin

kathd05 · 17/08/2014 20:08

Hello ladies im pre-emptively jumping on your thread. Ill be having implant removed mid september hopefully. Then ttc#1.
Any tips from this point in?
When and what vitamins have you been taking?
Any one else a previous implant user?
Did you wait for periods to return before starting?
Sorry for bombarding you all
Kat ??xx

Perfect news, I that cas if this north isn't the one next month will be :-) I feel much more +ve today :-).

Wishing u well with the next few months, I hope the nausea goes soon xxx

DurhamRed · 17/08/2014 12:06

Katy I'm feeling a lot better now thanks, though still suffering from nausea most of the day. At least I am keeping food down now. I love the idea of eating ice cream, unfortunately since becoming pregnant its one of the foods that make me sick (including milk, coffee and chocolate). Don't seem to have cravings but food aversions instead.

I have my fingers crossed for you this month. I used preseed and would definitely recommend it. I only used it for 2 months and it seemed to work for me in combo with opk and folic acid.

Katybear123 · 16/08/2014 20:49

I am so sorry to hear that Durham are u out again now. I friend of mine had that and they advised her to eat vanilla hagandaz ice cream because if u can't keep anything down it's the best thing that is Hugh in fat, sugar and protein that u can have. Maybe that might console a little.

I hope ur right re bfp day 21 now we will c very soon if u r right. I have a little hope. Ur have also bought a cbfm, cough medicine, eve primrose ( I don't get much ewcm) preseed, vit b, and zinc for him. This adds to folic acid and vit d I am already taking, I might rattle but at least I will know I am doing all I can!!

DurhamRed · 16/08/2014 20:38

Hi Katy & Kitten glad to hear all is well albeit symptom spotting and waiting for AF!

I'm doing ok at the moment, although have been suffering from serious morning sickness and was unfortunately admitted to hospital for hyperemesis, the lowest point of my pregnancy so far! Morning sickness is no fun at all just to warn you..fingers crossed you don't suffer to badly when you fall pregnant.

Much luck to you both, won't be too long before you both fall, I can feel it :-)

Katybear123 · 15/08/2014 18:52

Hi Durham cd20 here cycle 3 all quiet here apart from the hamster on wheel in my mind making me think I defo have symptoms!! Trying not to build up hopes as was convinced last month was preg and then sad when af arrived. How u doing?

kittenmamma · 15/08/2014 18:41

Durham, all is quiet here, still waiting for AF, but if it had arrived I'd be due again today, so I'm waiting for another now. Not really been DTD much, not having symptoms of anything. Boring!

DurhamRed · 11/08/2014 11:39

Hi ladies, just thought I'd drop in to keep in touch and see how everyone is doing. Hope all is going well with everyone.

Katybear123 · 07/08/2014 18:24

Hey ladies cd12 here and I think I might b ovulating as have cramp on right side, I'm sure last month it was left and was cd13. Hoping to dtd today, we did it cd 9 and tried last night but oh v tired so no luck was bummed but trying not to show as don't want him to get a complex

Ladyboluna · 07/08/2014 17:19

Katy DTD every day has a negative effect on your DP's sperm count - he needs 48 hours to replenish the troops ea ch time to their maximum capacity.

april I know what you mean, one friend of mine who knew I was ttc told me she only stopped taking the pill 3 months before getting pregnant. Turns out actually she'd been trying for over a year. Upset me a bit as I've been trying for over a year and I wonder whether I should be lying about it too? Is it really something to be ashamed about? Meh.

Within the last month - 2 colleagues have had babies, another has announced a pregnancy and within the last 6 months I've become an auntie twice and my old school friend has had her 2nd. I feel like there are babies exploding from everyones fanjos apart from mine! Lol.

Aprilray · 07/08/2014 15:00

We seem to have dropped right to the bottom of the second page so bumping us back up to the top.

I second temping Snowberry, it was only through temping that I realised I ovulate later in my cycle than I thought and had been stopping DTD too early each month. It is so hard when you have friends who are pregnant. My best friend and another close friend got pregnant just before DH and I started ttc and I was convinced that by the time the babies arrived I would be pregnant but still ttc!

Katybear123 · 04/08/2014 21:57

Thanks sunshine fingers x for u to. I'm using 2 apps which r giving me different fertile days do going for eod over both toms just to b safe so from now till 16tg we r on it!!!! Think we might b shattered by the end!!!
