TTC First Time - Anyone else?

My husband and I are TTC! I have been off the pill for a month now and have started taking folic acid and calcium with vit D to ensure if anything does happen I'm as healthy as possible. Limiting caffeine and alcohol but not cutting it out completely as you never know how long it will take! All my friends have just fallen pregnant really easily, but I have a feeling this will not be the case for me. I can't remember when my last period was either which is annoying as will need to wait for the next one before I can chart etc. Hmm Is anyone else out there TTC now? We could all share our stories and encourage each other! Smile

I tested early on Wednesday afternoon couldn't wait and got BFN however this is my 3rd month off the pill, I seem to have had a 28 and a 29 day cycle now im on day 30 and still no AF how long should I leave it before testing again...

DurhamRed · 11/05/2014 10:09

I'm with you on the over popularity of names. I'd rather our child have a unique name that stans out a little.

Ah, the peeing on a stick conundrum. I tested early this month, couldn't help myself, but have resolved not to next time. Trying to be a bit more relaxed about it this month (I bet I won't be).

Go with what feels right to you Gem.

Elodie and Rory are lovely names.

I like the name Lilia for a girl and Caleb for a boy...though the OH isn't so sure. I like unusual/unique names but the OH is more old school so I can see some heated debates ahead! Smile

We are also thinking family names for middle names.

Me and the OH have been discussing names and been bickering over them. Have you chosen unique names or gone old school? Smile

Thanks katy, I was taking boots conception support vits, which includes zinc, vit B6 and folic acid. Was wondering what was making me feel so sick and change my AF so drastically. I've been off the pill for over 15 years and my periods have been regular and consistent for a very very long time. Will be trying a month without the vits (OH is concerned they may be messing with my hormones) to see if there is any difference.

Not long till we will be trying again...yay!

Greeneyes5 · 10/05/2014 14:08

Hi I'm ttc #1 - it's my first cycle after finishing the pill
My af was due on Monday but still no sign I did a test on tues and got a bfn :-( so just trying to wait as long as pos before taking another test but it's so hard!

Katybear123 · 10/05/2014 13:30

Hiya I have been making folic acid for 2 months and vitamin d for about 6 weeks. Haven't noticed anything taking these. It only finished the pill today so not sure I would.

DurhamRed · 10/05/2014 12:07

Morning all, hope everyone is well Smile

Quick question, is anyone else on conception support vitamins and has anyone had any side effects? I have been taking them for 1 month but over the last week I have been feeling/being sick and my AF has been unusually lighter (although very dark and sticky) and has almost stopped after 3 days. My AF is normally very heavy and it lasts for 5 to 6 days. Has anyone else experienced changes to their AF with conception vits? Apologies if this was tmi!

Katybear123 · 09/05/2014 18:44

Hey Gemerama
I vote go have a drink I think your right you can't stop everything and I don't think a few glasses would hurt if it's meant to be it will be.
Glad some still ok with job, I think mines been coming for a while work for a company that's had a year of chaos and it taking its toll on me personally and emotionally.
Took last pill today, yipeeee just have to wait for af to shove off and away we go. Think we might have a practice tomoz just to be sure.
Trying to educate other half on some of the conception stuff, he was amazed by the every other day concept! Ok with it I think as he's mr laid back but he's v clueless on this stuff and thinks we'll just "do it a few times" and that will be it :-)

Hi guys
Welcome Phoenix and love life.
Durham, hippy, so glad I'm not alone feeling trapped in a job, it's horrid. I want to leave so much.
Ranch girl I so understand the stressful job, I have this to. It makes me sorry about if it will happen but trying to stay positive and praying I buck the trend and fall really quickly as I need a route out and fast!:-(

freneticfox · 08/05/2014 18:15

So for my first ever post here, thought I'd join this one, cycle #1 of TTC to begin when AF buggers off (hopefully by the weekend!)

Been married for nearly two years, but with DH for over 10 years - so we're definitely sure we're ready!

Only thing that's bittersweet about the whole thing is three months after we got married by Dad passed away very suddenly - he was SO looking forwarding to being a Grandpa, so the excitement is coming with a bit of a painful ache.

Nonetheless, SO excited to be here!
