TTC First Time - Anyone else?

My husband and I are TTC! I have been off the pill for a month now and have started taking folic acid and calcium with vit D to ensure if anything does happen I'm as healthy as possible. Limiting caffeine and alcohol but not cutting it out completely as you never know how long it will take! All my friends have just fallen pregnant really easily, but I have a feeling this will not be the case for me. I can't remember when my last period was either which is annoying as will need to wait for the next one before I can chart etc. Hmm Is anyone else out there TTC now? We could all share our stories and encourage each other! Smile

Sending hugs your way kitten..I think ttc can feel so overwhelming and stressful sometimes..couple that with the impending arrival of AF and you have yourself one cranky hormonal woman! I'm sure it's nothing to worry about xxx

sugarangel88 · 10/06/2014 19:22

Hi all,

Hope it's all going well for you all!
This is my first month ttc! I never realized how stressful this is! We have wanted kids for months but now we r trying it's so stressful! I know it won't happen first time but I just want it to!
Ever little thing I'm wondering if it's a sign! I have had a weird taste in my mouth all day and I'm so sleepy, but probably just a touch of somthing!

Good luck ladies!xx

Katybear123 · 10/06/2014 18:55

Ah thanks guys, I hope your fingers crossed helps. I'm not convinced but we will see. Hubbie out tonight so tempted to do a test but if was neg think would need support, just hope either I am or af turns up soon. Only reason I'm not is in the evening if it's neg I would spend my time thinking I should do another as it might not have been sensitive enough

kittenmamma · 10/06/2014 14:49

Yep we are married now. I think it is just hormones, my best friend has advised me to get a test lol. She said she used a first response one that was positive a week before AF was due! Im now 3/4 days away but I think I'llstill wait until after the weekend.

Futter · 10/06/2014 07:03

Sorry just reread... Not awake yet .. You are married now aren't you? Sorry! Xx it's probably just those horrible things called hormones!!! Xx

Futter · 10/06/2014 07:02

Hi kittenmama.. When is your wedding? The run up to your wedding day is very stressful and me and DH had a number of spats beforehand and usually we are really good with each other! If you conceive this month of course it will be a happy occasion but you will need to take extra care of yourself with the stress that comes at being a bride no matter how organised you are ;-) if you unfortunately don't conceive and are happy to wait to try and conceive this month then perhaps a honeymoon baby might make you feel a bit less overwhelmed with the wedding ... I know I certainly couldn't have done both Wink whatever you decide good luck!! X

kittenmamma · 10/06/2014 01:59

Okay guys I know we are on a high but I need some emotional support.
Obviously DH and I are TTC and that's something we've been waiting to do for a long time, we wanted to wait until after the wedding.

However, the last couple of weeks or so we have had 2 or 3 of these horrid spats which always leave me feeling like maybe it's not a good idea to be TTC.
I've literally snapped at him that I will go back on the pill when AF arrives this week.

I am hoping it's just mad hormones making me cranky (which I know I am, at the moment, very very cranky)

I also hope I don't feel this way if we have conceived this month! I would feel wretched.

Futter · 09/06/2014 21:21

Thanks for the ovia app! Really useful to start tracking the everyday especially when you don't have a proper cycle yet - thanks!! Smile

Rainbow555 · 09/06/2014 20:24

Ohh fx katy may af is still AWOL but think I might be starting to get cramps and a headache so hopefully it will show up soon so we can get on with DTD this month!
Downloaded the ovia app seems pretty good!

kittenmamma · 09/06/2014 19:56

Katy FX for you!! Exciting!

Katybear123 · 09/06/2014 19:37

Hey guys hope all is well, af should have arrived today but no sign yet however not getting hopes up yet owing to not really being sure on cycles. Think I will test thur / fri if no af!

kittenmamma · 09/06/2014 19:18

Flutter, egg white CM...stretchy and clear like eggwhites, tends to be when you're ovulating. Apparently if you are pregnant PO your CM becomes thick and creamy, white, and lots of it!
I have an app called ovia which tracks CM, AF, OV, temp, symptoms etc etc, might be worth a try too.
Im now in that final few days wait, AF due on Fri/Sat and im going mad!

Futter · 09/06/2014 17:58

Thanks katybear- :-) I've downloaded the app so will have a look at it tonight - how do you track cm ??? Or is it TMI for this page? ;-)
Well we can start together then how exciting! I have no idea when my first AF is due as haven't had a period for years due to my pill so me and the hubby are enjoying DTD anyway just in case :-)
Fingers crossed for you keep me posted!

Poas not papas!

ellstor · 09/06/2014 15:37

Hi!
Me and dh2b are ttc for first time! &I believe I'm the most broody woman in Berkshire!
Finished pill around 5 weeks ago and I got af 1 day later than was expecting her - unreal after 8 years on bc.
Papas for the first time ever last week and that was nerve wracking and then disappointing when only one line showed up.
Fingers crossed for a successful month for everyone! X

Katybear123 · 08/06/2014 21:36

Hey flutter welcome, this is my first month ttc since coming off pill loestrin though. I am due af tomoz no idea if it will arrive I have af type symptoms but all could also be preg symptoms I have googled for England! I started to try to spot ovulation this month I used an app called fertility friend, to chart cm but nothing more than that. Am hoping to be one of the lucky ones that falls straight away but I guess will have to wait and see this wk!

Futter · 08/06/2014 20:40

Hi all - happy to welcome another newby? Finished my last cerazette packet last week and waiting for the bleed to start ... Anyone else taken that and had any experience of coming off it? Not sure where to even start with the ovulation tracking - what are you guys doing? Apparently with my pill you can be fertile straight away but I'm sure it'll still take a while for my body to settle down as I've been on for it years!!! Dreading the first AF as they were previously debilitating on the first day - also have a very high pressured job with long hours like some of you ladies so god knows what will happen if AF arrives at work - gulp!!

kittenmamma · 08/06/2014 20:29

Imworried about the exact same thing, my best friend has conceived three times on her first cycle, other friend has conceived first time DTD, girl at work conceived accidentally and I've a guy friend at work who's girlfriend has conceived twice accidentally, she's just announced she's pregnant this time and the other lass at work is 9 weeks right now, it will literally kill me if I struggle and the wait is driving me nuts right now. I'll be crushed if it's a BFN but we all have eachother here to get through it, where maybe our lucky friends won't be able to empathize.

mrschatty · 08/06/2014 17:37

Gemerama I know how your feeling I was exactly the same when we were actively ttc in dec jan feb I had the same negative feeling towards the end of my cycle think I was so convinced it would happen immediately espesh with bessie mate falling preg on pill!
I think going back on pill april may and having some time away from ttc helped my mindset im feeling really positive now for this round of ttc! Your doing the right thing not testing let your body tell you and you know what they say if you stop thinking about it itll happen! (Easier said than done eh)

Heres a fun fact for you all. More babies convinced during world cup than any other sporting event so this is a lucky month!
