Thanks for all your support ladies x

BeetlingAbout · 30/07/2014 06:43

Good luck for your tww trying and wonderful news on the frostie.

stars how are you?

I too have found this thread an invaluable source of support across a difficult time ttc, it would be a shame to see it disappear to Facebook as new members might not find it.

I wish everyone the best with their treatment and am lurking to support whenever I can. X

Tryingandimpatient · 29/07/2014 18:33

Am 4 days post EC with only 3 embies growing in their little dish () .... The embryologist called this morn and said all 3 still growing well so we are aiming for a 5 day transfer tomorrow (hopefully blastocyst)!

How did people get through the 2ww and stay sane??? Any tips??

How soon did people start testing with home tests??

Any tips for success??

Sucking, you don't fancy the fb group? It's secret, so no posts can be seen by your other fb friends. X

I've been lurking here just to see how you're all getting on. Good luck to all of you, I found the support on these threads invaluable when I went through my cycles and I know you'll all continue to get that on the fb group.

Hope you all get BFPs soon and we see you on the egg buddy graduate thread.

SuckingGin · 26/07/2014 08:22

Hope your 2WW works out for you Colly even if the pessaries are rough going right now.

I can see this group will most likely be dead soon with everyone moving over to an FB group, so I will say good luck and good bye now.

Hope you all get the baby you're looking for, and maybe I'll see you on MN again somewhere!

Turquoisetamborine · 26/07/2014 07:38

Hope you've managed to find me on FB.

I had a an awful time with the pessaries, constipated and bloated a all the time!

Collyd · 25/07/2014 09:25

Lovely, have just PM'd Turquoise.

I am liking this two weeks off work with the weather we've been having, I shall be going back with a tan if nothing else!

The cyclogest pessaries are a bit rough going, doing my innards no good, I already look 4 months pregnant.

starsandmoonandback · 25/07/2014 07:54

How ya doing Colly? As Turq says join us on fb group. So much easier to keep up. And it's secret Smile

How are you doing Colly? If you want to join our Facebook group, give me a PM coz I keep on forgetting about this thread. It's completely secret x

Collyd · 20/07/2014 16:50

Thank you for kind wishes stars, sucking & turquoise.

You have my every empathy turquoise for the "scratch" - there could not be a more inappropriate name for that procedure! Hurts like nothing I've every felt - granted I'm sure childbirth is worse, but as my experiences to date go that pretty much tops it.

Sucking, glad the BBQ went off without too much of a hitch. Sometimes it's good that people know sometimes it's not. We were at a BBQ yesterday (cake delivery) & I wasn't drinking and was asked "are you...?"; she knows we've been trying but she doesn't know where we are at with it, but still it's a bit awkward & a tad rude particularly as there's usually the 3 month rule, & say I were pregnant but in the too early stages to want to say anything, then I'd have to lie; which I'm rubbish at with serious stuff (can do a wind up no problem) & caught on the hop. Well I hope the SIL is just generally supportive for you - WHEN you need her. Shame you may have to postpone your next round, just looking at the calendar is all we seem to do at times.

Cx

Collyd · 20/07/2014 16:40

Afternoon all! Sorry I've been a bit quiet for the past few days. The transfer went well, no where near as uncomfortable as I thought it would - considering ones' legs are as high as can be and akimbo! The clinic were running a little behind with their appointments, so I did feel as though I were being rushed through, not so much with the procedure as I'm sure the consultant did things all proper - aside from calling me Charlotte, which is not my name! She's not the first, but I was quite assured that I was getting the correct embryos as the embryologist and nurse did a thorough name check. It does feel rather surreal leaving the clinic knowing what you've had done, and I can't deny I had a certain spring in my step. A little disappointing that the BF couldn't make it back from work in time, but I don't think he missed out on anything other than me giving the final say so to put 2 back - albeit we had already discussed it.

The past few days I've been busy baking & decorating a house-warming/10th anniversary cake (a hobby of mine) for friends; which quite possibly saw my stress levels rise, as fondant, buttercream and this weather do not mix well. Coupled with me having trapped a nerve or something in my neck - which I found is clearly where I carry my tension as soon as I had delivered and assembled the cake the pain eased dramatically!

I finally got myself registered with a dentist on Friday - I only moved to the area 2.5 years ago! Obviously I had to say all that I was going through so he held back on doing the X-rays & then said that he could see signs of stress in my mouth - you think?! Jolly good job I'm off work the next 1.5 weeks; which I want to go slow as I'm in no hurry to rush back, but want to whiz by to 30th when I'm due back for my pregnancy test.

However, that said I will HAVE to do one myself prior; as the BF is booked on an already paid for training course that can't be re-arranged (it's H&S necessary for his job!) & is obviously gutted as he wants to be there when we find out (assuming it's worked and nature hasn't already taken its course). I know I would struggle to hold out until the official test day anyway; but at least now I have a valid reason! Wink

I've also been nursemaid the past couple of days to BF as he seems to have been struck down with either heatstroke or a flu-like bug - hopefully the former purely so as it's not contagious. It's not even man-flu, he has been proper burning up and shivering cold. He seems to be on the mend today thankfully.

Anyway, so that's me!

BTW bestie had a little boy on 17 July, after the hook thingy to break her waters - ouch!!

Turquoisetamborine · 19/07/2014 07:26

Hi everyone. Just a quickie but wanted to pop in and say hello and I'm cheering colly on. I'll post more later as I'm frantically busy today but i go for a scratch on 29th July so getting going again. Lovely to see stars and bugs xx

SuckingGin · 19/07/2014 02:38

Sorry to hear you didn't get good fertilization after a pretty decent harvest Colly, but as we all know, having lots of eggs and/or high fertilization is no guarantee of a successful pregnancy. Just like low numbers doesn't mean the process will fail.

Someone has to be lucky and hit the jackpot first time, and it has been too long on this thread since someone has been lucky, so hopefully you will be the one!

SuckingGin · 19/07/2014 02:24

Hi folks. Sorry I have been away for a while.

4th of July didn't go off too badly in the end - thankfully. As I would have hated myself afterwards if I'd been a snotty cow in front of DH's massive family, as the vast majority of them are really lovely people. DH's eldest Bro had indeed spilled the beans to his gossipy wife (DH's fault for not swearing him to secrecy) but luckily FIL had done a series of things so monumentally daft the day before the BBQ that our IVF news was really second-rate gossip compared to him Grin I had a few comments, but the vast majority of them were kind and sympathetic without being pitying or too nosy.

One of DHs dippy cousins came and plopped her scrummy fat baby in my lap though Sad and started wittering about how she'd heard I'd surely need the practice soon and she'd just leave him with me while she went and played some volleyball... but MIL came said that wasn't possible as she needed my advice on the food (blatant lie, MIL worked in catering for 20 years) God I love DH's mom, she's excellent.

And actually, some good came of DH's blabbing, because DH's youngest brother's wife came to talk to me and revealed she'd gone through IVF too to get two of her three kids. I had no idea, as she and BIL had kept that very quiet. So it was actually nice to talk to someone in RL who understood.

Then DH and I went on holiday for 10 days, so that was good fun. Just sunning ourselves, drinking wine, and lazing around in our boat on the lake (well, I lazed with my Kindle, DH fished) and we got in a few rounds of golf too as the weather wasn't too hot.

*

Unfortunately, my period seems to have gone AWOL since my hysteroscopy Hmm It should have arrived 4 or 5 days ago now, but instead I'm getting EWCM and feel more like I'm about to ovulate than bleed.

Which arses up our plans for the FET rather, so due to other commitments it may be October or possibly even November before we are able to transfer our frosties, unless my period shows up within the next couple of days anyway.

Which is a bit of a bugger, as a) I am impatient to get on and have a baby, and b) I really didn't want to be huge and ready to pop in the summer here - having seen one of my SILs struggle miserably in the last two months of her pregnancy with the temperatures getting as high as 40C a couple of times in the weeks before she gave birth.

Oh well, if I get a baby at the end of it I guess I can survive just about anything!
