So I couldn't find a May thread, so I thought I'd start one for all of us who have dropped off the April thread.

Aunty arrived this morning so I 've just started cycle 4. TTC #2. Just had a long cycle so if this is the same length my most fertile time will be over Easter weekend.

So I might go all pagan and invoke some Spring fertility goddess. Or something. Or piss on some sticks.

?? Good luck, Spring Goddesses.

Haha Linda, I think cervical Lucas sounds better than cervical mucusGrin

Chococroc · 22/04/2014 21:14

Hi

Can I join you all here? AF has booted me off the April bus today.

New stats: TTC#1, cycle #3. BFP/AF due 20th May.

toothachereturns · 22/04/2014 17:06

Wow this is a busy thread today! Smile

Toothachereturns, 36, ttc#3, on cycle#3, due BFP 14th May. Smile

lindamagoo · 22/04/2014 17:02

That would be mucus not Lucas, damn phone, lol

lindamagoo · 22/04/2014 17:02

Lol Chandlers, how embarrassing Grin

The cough bottle and grapefruit help with the cervical Lucas for fertility if you are usually quite dry Smile

I use conceive plus instead of preseed, so between that and the cough bottle I was well oiled this month Grin

xBlueberry88x · 22/04/2014 16:50

Wheres the best and cheapest place to get preseed dp is unaware of the money I keep spending and I need to try behave

Chandlers LOL how funny poor cleaner

oooo id like to know about the grapefruit to does it matter what colour???

hanflan · 22/04/2014 16:49

omg chandlersfarang that really made me laugh! NEVER look her in the eye haha. What must she think?!

Starbright24 · 22/04/2014 16:46

And don't forget the pineapple after ovulation Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 22/04/2014 16:39

Thanks all, I think I will still apply - closing date isn't for another week and it's a big corporate so it would no doubt be a slow process.

And as DP tactfully reminds me, I haven't even applied for said job yet never mind got it.

Brain working overtime and running away with myself with possibilities. Which is why I had truly convinced myself I'd have a BFP after trying for the very first time. I'm a bit wiser now.

So preseed, cough syrup, grapefruit juice and opk's are way forward in May!!!!!

ChandlersFarang · 22/04/2014 16:39

Have been scrolling back like a mofo but can't find where the popularity of chesty cough syrup and grapefruit juice gets explained...? Sorry! If anyone could enlighten this newbie that would be great Grin

Hilarious (ahem) story for you all by the way, am using the clearblue monitor thing, which is a total nazi about when you can test in the morning. Just got home from a trip to Australia and all out of sync so peed in a little cup and hid it behind the bathroom bin so dh didn't have to witness the weirdness... Anyway our lovely sweet new cleaner started today... Obvs totally forgot what i'd done earlier until it was TOO LATE and she'd left... Went in the bathroom and found she'd emptied the bin and cleaned all around the little pot which was sitting in the middle of the floor... ShockShockShockShock OMG. How do I look her in the eye again?!!!!! Will she even come back...?! All to be revealed...

hanflan · 22/04/2014 16:32

Oh god, EDDs, I can't even think that far ahead haha. Just want my fecking bfp first! haha

Spotti · 22/04/2014 16:26

Are we doing EDD's too? If so, mine is Jan 30th.

(Sorry to faff you about english!)

mrshjb · 22/04/2014 16:24

I've been drinking grapefruit. Seemed to work last month but then I read it was meant to be pink and
I'm drinking golden?! Anyone got any experience of this?!

Spotti · 22/04/2014 16:23

Spotti, 23, TTC #1, cycle 5, BFP due around May 23rd

(a week before my birthday! Come on penis dragons, give me a lovely big fat little birthday present and don't make me be in pain and bleeding on my birthday )

spinningirl10 · 22/04/2014 16:05

Star.....I'm only 3/4 dpo and desperate to poasGrin obviously I will wait! Feel so rubbish today and keep wondering if its a symptom although I know it's too early!!

Brummie.....I would apply for the job and see what happens, you might regret it if you don't tryGrin

lindamagoo · 22/04/2014 15:53

Star I used the boots stuff last month and it didn't work, this month I used it cause I actually had a cough and it worked Smile

Starbright24 · 22/04/2014 15:51

cowbiscuits I play that. Very addictive!

blueberry I'm not convinced you should get the fertiliser. That did make me laugh.

I swigged down tesco chesty cough medicine this month - didn't make any difference to me but used pressed so fx.

6 dpo and getting urges to poas - someone give me a slap. Far too early but getting lots of imaginary symptoms which I've had before with no positive outcome.

mrshjb · 22/04/2014 15:47

I get it too. I'm kind of the other way round though. I like my job and my team but it's a project and I don't want it to come to an end when I'm on mat leave. So thinking I need to find something more secure within the same company. But obviously I don't want to start a new job and then get pregnant straight away. But also I don't want to leave my job when I actually might not get pregnant for ages! So it's all a ball ache when you're TTC I think!

That company does sound amazing though! No harm in applying and seeing what happens?!

Sparrowlegs248 · 22/04/2014 15:44

hibou good luck tonight. I got my smiley sunday so its like to be too late for me but will give it a go.....

I also have the job issue. Excellent benefits where i am but hate it!!

xBlueberry88x · 22/04/2014 15:28

Brummie I completely understand I have been the same. There have been a couple of jobs that I would have liked to have gone for recently but decided againest it because I didnt want to loose any maternity benefits I have in the job ive been in for nearly 2 years. Plus I know that my boss would be very easy going once im pregnant and afterwards.

I let TTC win because to be honest id rather have a baby than a job!!

Brummiegirl15 · 22/04/2014 15:23

Not only does this role offer 52 weeks paid mat leave but also option to have another further year although unpaid. Plus they have on site crèches and places to express and store breast milk if you are expressing. I know employers have to provide by law, but a company that advertises it as part of it's benefits , is pretty impressive.

Don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy in current role at all, would happily stay but this job is one that you dream about coming up and the maternity benefits - bearing in mind we have just started TTC is great.

But I worry, and feel I must temporarily put TTC on hold if I apply - and we've only just bloody started and I've waited so long to get to this point. Bugger!!!!!!

Sorry don't mean to send thread of on a different tangent. I'm so far ahead of myself, it's untrue. If it was for any other job I wouldn't bother and think I'm fine where I am ta very much. But this one is pretty good....

Pah!!

cowbiscuits · 22/04/2014 15:19

Hello everyone.

Nice to see this thread filling up.

Since starting this thread I've been sitting quietly on the back of the bus playing 2048 for the last week. Don't click on the link unless you want to lose the rest of your day.

Time to start shagging here if we can muster the energy. Haven't taken OPK yet, last month cycle was long (35ish days), but I don't want to get cought out and miss the lucky days if this one is shorter.

Unfortunatly I'm working nights this weekend coming, which is when I estimate I'll probably be ovulating. I've not been thinking about it as mmuch this month. I don't know why really, just have a feeling I won't be getting pregnant just yet.

Good luck everyone

lindamagoo · 22/04/2014 15:18

Oops that would be cough bottle not couch Grin

lindamagoo · 22/04/2014 15:09

The couch bottle I took was Boots own chesty cough medicine but make sure it's the one with the only active ingredient of Guaifenesin Smile The dearer version is called Robitussin

Hibou7688 · 22/04/2014 15:04

notalotta your situation wth DP sounds identical to mine!! Got a solid smiley this morning so maybe hope is not lost if we dtd tonight! We have GOT to dtd tonight.
