Hi,

Im really worried and don't know if im just being over the top but I really need to know! Me and my boyfriend had been together a year and a half and last year we split for a couple of months. On a drunken night out with work friends I ended up sleeping with one of my work colleagues. He is much older than I am I am 21 and he is 39. This was the 14th November. I was on my period at the time sorry tmi I thought it had gone but it was still there for the next couple of days. I was also on the pill but off it to let my period come and I ended up not going back on it from there. On 1st December I got back with my ex and my period started that day. We had sex from then on and I found out on 31st December I was 4-5 weeks pregnant going by the clear blue test. I then had an early scan about a week or 2 weeks after and was told I was 5-6 weeks pregnant and they could only see the sac. I was given an EDD by my midwife of 9th September then I went for my 12 week scan and it was 6th September. All my dates add up correctly to be my boyfriends baby but im so scared its not. Can anyone help? Thanks

Congratulations, I cant see how it could possibly be the other mans going by the scan and periods. You are worrying for nothing. Good luck with your pg.

Elllimam · 29/03/2014 17:26

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Don't worry, from your dates it seems fairly certain to be your boyfriends. Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy x

Hope u don't mind me asking how old u are?

There's no doubt what so ever.
It's deffo ur bf's 100% so don't worry.

If u worry about this it's for nothing and it could harm ur baby with all the stress etc.

And anyway if ur bf isn't worried then that says it all!
If he had doubt he wouldn't be so accepting of the situation.

Good luck with the pregnancy chic :) enjoy it!

Good Luck with your pregnancy cookies.

So you had a one night stand while seperated from your boyfriend... it happens.

I wish you all the best Smile and I am sure you do want the baby! Relax and enjoy this exciting time and ban all negative thoughts and comments.

cookies92 · 28/03/2014 14:49

Thanks for everyone's help although im sure you all think im over reacting haha but believe me id rather that than anything else!

Yes we want this baby although wasnt planned. I do not have any stis as I have been checked twice since sleeping with the colleague and you get a full screening when pregnant any way. Me and my bf split up for a few months but we have been back together for 4 months now and are perfectly fine. It may not be the best start but its certainly not the worst.

do you want to have a baby? Is your relationship with your DP stable? Have you had yourself checked for STIs, given you had unprotected sex?

Sorry, but this doesn't sound like a great situation to consider having a child in.

somersethouse · 28/03/2014 14:23

You are trying to find something to worry about!

It must be your bf's

  1. you had a period when you had sex with the other guy and a period a month later
  2. your due dates only add up to bf being father
  3. the scan would have not just shown a sac, again, only adds up to bf being the father.

STOP worrying! Smile

Yes during the period in November is when I slept with him and then I got another period at the start of December. Im probably being stupid but I worry a lot about stuff!

I think it is unlikely to be your colleagues given the fact that you had a withdrawal bleed from the pill and then a proper period on 1st December so only about two or three weeks in between them. If you count December 1st as your first day of your new cycle then a pregnancy test would show positive by the end of that month which is what happened. Honestly stop worrying , as if the bleed on 1st December was an implantation bleed by the end of December you would have been further along and so further along by the time you had the dating scan which you were not.

DebbieOfMaddox · 28/03/2014 12:41

Yes, I think you are overreacting. If it had been your colleague's baby then it would have been obvious on that first scan.

newbieman1978 · 28/03/2014 12:38

I'm sure Jeremy Kyle can help! :-)

Seriously though when the baby comes you need to have a DNA test and find out 100%. It'll only eat away at you and possibly cause more problems in the future. And plus the child has a right to know who their bialogical parents are regardless of who brings them up.

cookies92 · 28/03/2014 11:17

Haha I know I just sooo don't want it to be the colleagues im such a worrier.

Stop worrying so!!!

Enjoy your pregnancy Smile

cookies92 · 28/03/2014 11:15

Yeah my estimated conception date is 14th December. So exactly a month after I slept with the colleague.

OP posts:
FoodieMum3 · 28/03/2014 11:12

If your EDD is September 6th you will have conceived in December.

I'm due on September the 14th and my conception date was December 22nd.

cookies92 · 28/03/2014 10:56

Do you think im just over reacting? And do you think it really is his going by the dates and the fact I had sex on my period and the pill with the colleague?

OP posts:
behindthetimes · 28/03/2014 10:54

It sounds like it's just playing on your mind- I find that pregnancy is an easy time for negative thoughts to come in, but it sounds from your dates like it's no doubt it's your boyfriends. You've been honest with him, and he is certain it is his, so I would do your best to put these worries away and enjoy looking to the future.

Pointeshoes · 28/03/2014 10:54

You need to relax then and have some time to yourself to try and not worry about it all. The more you think it over in your head the more it will make you panic. So breath , it's your bfriends and think about planning for your baby :)

cookies92 · 28/03/2014 10:52

Thats my worry. My boyfriend knows I slept with the colleague the month before we got back together. I havent hidden any details from him but he is confident the baby is his knowing all the details. If I keep bringing it up it will just wear on him and everyone else.
