The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

baker, your DH sounds very similar to mine. We argued a couple of nights ago - i was feeling low and he was pestering me to tell him why. I just said it's nothing new, same old shit. And he actually rolled his eyes! I think he thought because I'd managed not to get upset and actually not cry for a little while, that I was over it. And like you say, I am coping really well, but that doesn't stop there being miserable days. He really apologised afterwards and has made every effort to be more sympathetic since. I think they'd love to be able to wave a magic wand and take all the pain and misery away and just move on, but it ain't that simple!

Carly6971 · 26/03/2014 09:06

cake my hubby deals with things very much like yours and it has also been the cause of many 'you don't care' type disagreements. I think maybe men don't deal with it the same way we do, plus it was us that went through the whole experience, as deep down I know my DH wanted this more than anyone. I hope you patch it up, it's so frustrating when they won't talk and seem fine isn't it?

broody hope your dd has a lovely day and that you manage to see brother in laws wife without it causing you to much pain and upset. It's so hard isn't it? My friend being in labour 2 weeks ago really knocked me about :( hugs.

And as for me I appear to be starting my first af post mc. Very happy in one way but also tinged with a little disappointment that I wasn't I magical fertile person who fell gp straight after mc...who the hell am I kidding it took 6 yrs to get to that point lol...oh well least I can fire up the old cbfm that I haven't used for years :) x

Seasides · 26/03/2014 08:59

Sad broody

Ouch baker - I know it's not a 'sides' thing but I'm with you on this one. It's soon, it's totally normal to feel sad and you should feel able to talk to him rather than a doc. But it is hard for them to know what to say - for a long time DH and I had issues because he was trying to be positive for me, and felt that anything negative or sad I said was not being positive or helpful. Kind of the same as you said to your DH, I had to tell him it was ok and normal to find this whole things super-shit, and to be sad. I think it was almost a relief for him to be able to admit he wasn't having a lovely time either. xx

Cakebaker35 · 26/03/2014 08:51

Broody bloody hell poor you. Sending you as much grit and determination as I can muster (which isn't a lot I grant you!) hang in there.

Managed to have a stupid argument with dh last night. Not really anybody's fault, just him not wanting to talk - when bad stuff happens he has form for just being as busy as he possibly can which is not always a bad thing and I'm quite often the same, but I just wanted to chat about stuff a bit, he started to say how we need to try and move on and he feels going over everything doesn't help as we had no control over it etc etc, I know he's not wrong but it's so bloody soon and I just feel it's ok and normal to feel sad, so I really bit his head off and accused him of not caring Blush he said if I wasn't coping I should talk to the gp! Angry which made me more angry because I think I'm coping pretty bloody well given the circumstances. He just said he feels he can't say anything right and stomped off. All very frosty this morning. Just not what either if us needs really. Sigh.

broodylicious · 26/03/2014 08:22

Fucking great. Dh just dropped pg bomb. On behalf of his brother. Who will be coming here this morning to see dd. With pg wife. 13 weeks apparently so she'd have been three weeks behind me. Mega will power, patience and grit required today now.... On top of shit night... Hmm

Triplespin · 26/03/2014 08:11

So there goes the whole "legs in the air" myth. Thank you for that as I always think I get up too soon! I guess it happens when it's meant to happen!

parsley great news that at least you have been referred again and getting all the bloods done now. And as it has happened for many, just when you get your appointment you will get your bfp and a sticky bean. What dosage of coq10 are you taking? I have started on 200mg (self medicating) so no idea what is appropriate. I have also heard good things about omega 3 for fertility, so going to add that to the mix as well.

Thanks viper your body seems like clockwork! Ov on cd14! So does first day of mc count as first day of bleed or first day when mc was complete (ie sac passed)?

missh wishing you a spotting free pregnancy this time.

Penguin13 · 26/03/2014 07:55

MissHobart you are not alone!

Office I haven't officially needed my dates yet but it was helpful in tracking what happened post mc, first AF etc. I would keep them just in case.

Happy Birthday to your DD Broody. Hope she's feeling better soon. Sorry your bleeding is playing hide and seek, hope it settles down soon.

MissHobart · 26/03/2014 07:44

Me too, first day of heavy bleeding for mc counted as CD 1, but they were both at five weeks so could be classed as chemical?

Knicker twitch day 2 - all clear so far Smile

Viperama · 26/03/2014 07:26

Morning officelady. I counted first day of my natural mc as cd1, I then ovulated cd14. So for me counting miscarriage start date as cd1 helped.

officelady · 26/03/2014 07:07

Morning ladies - my, we are a chatty bunch! And I am very thankful for that - god knows I can't say any of this insane stuff in real life! Wink
Ok so here's a stupid question for you - do you ever need to know the exact date of a miscarriage? And if so, how do you date it? Like, when I had my last mc, it was detected at a scan on 6th March but the estimated gestation was about 4 weeks prior to that. Then I actually passed the sac on 15th March. And I had a confirmation scan that there was nothing left on 18th March. Are any of these dates significant? If they are, I need to write them down otherwise I will forget, I know. I will always remember the due date but the rest is already fading into a blur and has been filed away in my brain under "horrible times". Then I start to worry that a doctor will ask me in the future and I won't be able to remember. Sorry to be such a dimwit!
I am going to POA OPK stick after work today. No sign of anything occuring in the egg department, but I have an insatiable urge to collect my wee in a cup and then dip something in it!

broodylicious · 26/03/2014 06:54

Totally missed your bfp too missh! Congrats hun! How fantastic to have two on the same day, we needed a bfp soon so great we've got two now Envy wishing you both an uneventful, boring nine months and beautiful bouncy baby at the end.

So, this time two years ago, I was in labour with dd. She's marked her birthday by picking up a shitty cold and so hardly slept last night. Been up since 430 with her Confused Might crack open her cake by 8am Wink And a few WineWine cos this AF/WTAF cycle is pissing me off. Bleed or don't, stop fucking about with a gush in the morning then spotting then nothing, don't know what the chuff is going on. Just want some effing TITH soon!!!

Viperama · 26/03/2014 00:16

Triple if you've had a bfn break out the ovulation tests, you never know... I ovulated cd14 after mc, and stared ewcm cd11 ish

Thank you holly Ben for the update earlier.

Now Sebs, I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time. I'm from the other side of the pond and am used to gratuitous over the top pda's so I've no qualms giving you a massive squishy hug. You know the kind you get when for a moment you think ugh this is so annoying, and then you're thinking actually this is kind of nice in a oppressive/caring way. Big squish for you.

Viperama · 26/03/2014 00:01

Omg penguin And missH I am back reading posts from this morning as I've had hell day. Soooo excited for you both, ohh joy. Everything crossed for you both. High five

Let this be our lucky thread, more BFP's

Hip hip

HOORAY!

Jetpackplease · 25/03/2014 23:59

So much action on this thread today!

Wonderful news on the BFPs Penguin and MissH! Really hoping all goes well. Fx still for gail.

Congrats on the job too otters - surely a perfectly timed bfp must be next Smile

Hugs and Cake to sebs and others who are feeling the shitness of it all at the moment. Some days it gets overwhelming. I had a glum day today but was cheered by a lovely card from a friend when I got home. Here's hoping we all get our CUTO back soon.

choccy sounds like you've had a really horrible run - hope the support here helps.

And finally, on the subject of post-mc symptoms, I am a week post-erpc today. Had light/mild bleeding/pain until Saturday when I had sudden strong cramps and a heavy bleed with small clots. It settled after a few hours and then I got an acute pain in my side that persisted for nearly 24 hours so I got it checked out in A&E who sent me to the EPU. I had yet another internal scan that showed lots of clots but nothing that would cause pain.

Unsurprisingly, my date with dildo-cam precipitated another heavy-ish bleed, then 24 hours later, just as I was leaving work tonight, a really heavy bleed started. I had to keep my legs clamped shut on the Tube then shuffled home. I ended up passing quite a few large clots and am now hoping I must be nearly empty in there! Just trying to decide when to start testing for a bfn so that I can then begin with the opks for ovulation - basically weeing in pots and on sticks is my life now...

Penguin13 · 25/03/2014 22:35

Like MissH I don't think we did anything massively special this cycle. I had been having full fat milk every day as I read it can help although I know some people say to avoid too much dairy so might be nothing in it. The only supplement I took was boots conception tablets. I definitely recommend temping if you're using opks as if I hadn't been temping I wouldn't have seen that I had no temp rise after my first positive opk on day 12 (got another +opk on cd17 and we dtd that night) I did use a little pre-seed (a very small amount, maybe pea sized) that night as I didn't have much ewcm. Frankly I recommend that stuff even when not ttc, it's good! I am also proof that you can get pg from woman on top ridiculously I always worried about all the semen falling out Blush From FF it looks like we only dtd that night as H had been away.Aside from that I was wearing my lucky agent provocateur birthday underwear and I made a birthday wish though am not sure that is very scientific!

JonesSchool · 25/03/2014 21:36

Fantastic news on the BFP's xxx

Parsley2506 · 25/03/2014 21:15

gail I was getting spotting from 10dpo pre the MC (inc the cycle I got the BFP, and that was actually even earlier). Since MC I've taken agnus castus and no spotting at all (I also now take pregnacare instead of just frolic acid). I am on a whole bunch of new stuff too this month after consulting a herbalist who's given me a plan to tweak my body into pregnancy friendly shape - CoQ10, low dose B6, magnesium and omega 3s. Shake me and I rattle!!!

Triple I went this am. He has referred us back to the fertility clinic, so until that appt we're in limbo. He also re-ordered my Day 21 bloods and a new SA for MrP as our last tests were done a year ago now - fully expecting them to be normal again but the idea is it should save a bit of time when we do get to see our fertility consultant. Not sure whether I'm hoping she suggests intervention or not. I want to believe we can do this but 2 years and 1 failed pregnancy are telling me otherwise Sad. I will be asking her about Prof Q whatever else she says and if she's not keen I am very tempted to self refer. My herbalist lady (god that makes me sound like a woo nutter) sort of agreed with my own suspicions that our issue may well be implantation related. Going to try cutting back on wheat too as apparently that can help?! Might give acupuncture a bash too - basically, I will try any old snake oil cures at the moment!!

broodylicious · 25/03/2014 19:17

Hello and hugs to choccy Sorry to see you here and that you've had a pretty shit last few months since we met in the ttc/an threads. Life is such a bitch isn't it?

MissHobart · 25/03/2014 18:08

Nothing too special happened this month re ttc! I was vit d deficient so have been on massive dose supplements from the doctor, I take 3 folic acid and an iron tablet, had put myself on aspirin but stopped that last week add didn't realise you shouldn't have it unless told by a Dr.

I did opk tests and dtd four times over the five day window, no legs in the air or anything.

I was expecting to wait til June for a bfp as it took 5 months for each previous one so wasn't expecting success, in fact I've booked loads of stuff I can't do now over the next few months so maybe having my mind off ttc a little helped?

To be fair I think that's just bollocks and it happens when it happens! Smile

Cakebaker35 · 25/03/2014 18:08

Triple - I'm having same as you today on the stringy brown discharge stuff and it's just under a week since I had the erpc. So can't answer your question but if I had a cb digi I know I'd be tempted - leading you astray probably! In my case it's probably just my old body having a clear out!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 25/03/2014 18:05

My stats HollyBen - 30 ttc#1 since Nov '13 MC March '14 :) thank you!

Choccy sorry to see you here! Hope you are ok.

Gail spotting at 10dpo could well be IB! FingerX!!

Can anyone help by telling me when after MC should I expect AF? Haven't been trying this month as think I need to wait for this cycle to prepare myself ... unless it has happened then I wont be moving off my sofa for 12 weeks!

Triplespin · 25/03/2014 17:54

sebs we have all been there. Especially first few months post mc are tough as you remember all the dates: 12wk, 20wk milestones. You will get around it but in The meantime have a rant here!

Triplespin · 25/03/2014 17:35

This thread is moving too fast for me to keep up !!!

penguin, missh massive congrats on the brilliant news. Some fish slaps as well from me for testing on a tuesday :) FX for sticky beans and a boring text book pregnancy for both of you. Missh I can totally understand your fears - (I am in a similar situation as you as never seem to get beyond 6 weeks) - I sincerely hope that this one is meant to be !!

so please share what did you do differently this cycle? So I can add it to my concoction of vitamins.

parsley how was your visit to the GP? you should definitely visit. 2 years is far too long. But yes they will probably definitely count this pg and start the clock again. How many months post mc has it been for you?

choccy sorry you find yourself here. Hopefully cyclogest will do the trick for you.

gail I have had that post mc and also when I have had a bfp. So it could be a case of IB or else your body still recovering post mc. Best not to over think it. I thought I had low progesterone and hence was getting spotting but my levels were fairly high. So I think it is unrelated and hopefully in your case made lead to a bfp.

I also have a post mc question. Its 2 weeks on and whilst the bleeding stopped a week ago, (TMI alert) I am still getting stringy browny mucous. Some of it looks like ewcm but its just tinged brown/yellow. Has anyone had the same? Also because its similar to ewcm except not coloured white - could it also be an ovulation indication? Should I be wasting my cb digis just yet or wait for this to be over?

EnglishGirlAbroad · 25/03/2014 16:12

Parsley that is the best unconventional card yet!! Clifton's are missing a beat!!

Seasides · 25/03/2014 16:11

Sorry you're back choccy, what a run you've had Sad

And sebs, yes, I know that defeated, out of energy feeling too, at the sheer depressing shitness of it all. I usually feel generally fine, but then cry much more easily these days. Cried in the car at The Archers yday!! Wtf. No way could I watch OBEM or such, then the racking sobs would arrive. Or maybe I should, and get it out my system...

Only a partial line still on my opks today - cd16 - the CB one still isn't giving me a positive, and it was the last stick I had. Has anyone else had trouble with them? The line on my IC opk is about what I've always taken to be a positive. Guess we'll just have to dtd every day from now until DH leaves for a fortnight on Fri and see what my temps do.
