The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Oh sal that's properly done me in, I am going to have to swim to bed. I am tempted by one of these service too, I read about them a few months back but I don't think the website was properly up and running then. It's such a lovely idea, but I don't know if I might just lose the plot what with all our general ttc woes heaped on top of it.

otters you did it because we're all obsessive nut jobs here, so I shall just wang a small smoked salmon parcel in your general direction. Smile

Hi all, I probs need a slap too, symptom spotting at 2dpo! Boobs feeling a bit sore. I know this is nothing to do with being pg or not as it's waaaay to early. But I'm hoping it might indicate a decent level of progesterone, which with my 9 day lp I guess I've been lacking....wishful thinking probably!

Otters, you never know, you could still get a bfp, here's hoping you do

Sal1977 · 26/03/2014 21:39

Oh and YYYEEEEHHHAAARRRRRR to missh and penguin!

Sal1977 · 26/03/2014 21:38

Evening ladies!

I've just watched the most amazing poem on the www.sayinggoodbye.org website. Be warned it's a tear jerker but really really lovely. Go to the videos page and it's the first one.

I'm thinking of going to one of their services actually. I'm not religious at all but feel it would be nice to remember all my duffers in a proper way!

MissHobart · 26/03/2014 18:44

Oh and have a large trout Wink

MissHobart · 26/03/2014 18:43

Otters - I did that last Saturday and treat myself to some codeine for my back Hmm You're not out yet! Grin

OttersPocket · 26/03/2014 18:20

Oh throw a fish at me please. I was bored at home so I poaic. Obviously it was totally negative. Why did I do that?

I'm going to have a beer to celebrate. Cheers.

Carly6971 · 26/03/2014 18:09

Thanks ladies I have shitty painful periods usually as well so don't know if this feels worse because I haven't had one since nov or because it's first since mc. I have had a lovely snugly afternoon in front of the tv with a water bottle :) now going to venture out and treat myself to a small bar of chocolate ;) x

Triplespin · 26/03/2014 17:34

Thanks viper. I got some red tinged mucous today so still not really out of the woods yet.

Yes my first AF after previous mc was extra painful too. I have never needed painkillers and I did that time.

cake I will echo the same as others. Second day after mc my dh was complaining that "I need to stop moaning and get over it!". So you are not alone.

Hope everyone else is ok. Haven't had the chance to catch up on everyone's news fully.

Viperama · 26/03/2014 16:42

Carly my AF was really painful in the morning of cd2. I had to take pain killers and I'd say 80% of my AF blood loss was in those 6 hours. It started about 2 hours after getting up. While I was on a train between London and Birmingham so it was really awesome for me ;-)

Viperama · 26/03/2014 16:29

Triple I counted first day day of proper bleed as cd1. I prob passed main sac on day 2. But like my period, first day is just prep, the second and third are the main event.
Yuck! Sorry if tmi ladies

Metalhead · 26/03/2014 16:25

Carly mine was pretty bad! But I do tend to get quite painful cramps anyway. Get yourself some painkillers and a hot water bottle if you haven't already. Hope you feel better soon.

Carly6971 · 26/03/2014 16:00

Was anyone's first af post mc extra painful? Arghhhhhhh!

Cakebaker35 · 26/03/2014 13:56

sebs if you're lurking, hope today is a better day x

Cakebaker35 · 26/03/2014 13:54

Thanks all, yes I think dh just processes things differently to me, I should know by now having been together 19 years! I think it's partly that he doesn't see me during the day, being all cheerful and making a massive effort so that dd doesn't see me sad and we actually make it out of the house. So by the evening I am just glum, a bit silent too, so he probably thinks I'm like it all day. I'll have to set him straight later, in a non confrontational way, wish me luck.

Good luck metal, sounds exciting Smile

Otters, that's a lot of pee for sure, hoping you won't be needing to do it for much longer once you're upduffed Smile

I'm off to visit my friend this afternoon who also had an mmc with twins, it will be great to talk to someone about all this, just like I can here.

Parsley2506 · 26/03/2014 13:23

broody my SIL is also pg and less than a fortnight behind where I was. Haven't seen her since early feb - I think she's avoiding me as much as I am her! Hoping once my EDD passes in June that I'll be diffed it'll get easier.

cake as others have said, your completely within reason feeling as you do and I also agree that men a) process things a bit differently and b) feel duty bound to try to jolly us along. I also had a good chat with MrP about it and he accepts I have crap days now and let's me get on with it. He still keeps his pretty well hidden tho.

otters I hope you're right. I am scared we'll either get rejected for an appt or go and she'll say she can't do anything for another bloody year.

triple it's a low dose - just 30mg a day.

metal good luck with the recruiter! Hope it tempts a bean into your womble Grin

gail so sorry the witch got you. Hope you're ok.

Ooooh, go Metal! I'm hoping new job = BFP Grin

You mean nobody else has to drop off weekly samples of frozen pee English? Just me then Wink There is an explanation, it's not just for the laughs Hmm At my fertility clinic they get you to take weekly pee samples in to monitor whether you're ovulating on Clomid. The cheap skates don't scan you, just ask you to freeze said pee and drop it off each month so they can measure the hormones. Fun isn't it.

This has been my 8th round with Clomid in total. That's a lot of frozen pee.

9dpo for me and not a whiff of a symptom. I'm not going to bother peeing on any sticks until at least Friday Sunday I think. It's all just too bloody depressing.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 26/03/2014 12:42

Oh and I have some ewcm today.... cd36... maybe my body has skipped the bleed as I didnt ovulate and is now working its way up to ovulation again. God knows. Its all a bit of a guessing game.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 26/03/2014 12:41

My dh is a bit like yours too Cake. As much as I know he wants this as much as I do, he doesn't really understand why I spend so much time on here or googling everything.

Otters, if you don't mind me asking - what are you dropping loads of pee off for?? Sorry your faced with hoardes of happy prgenant bitches each time you go.

My first af was a bit like yours too Gail - I was hoping for a real heavy, spring clean of an af!! Sorry the witch got you.

Happy Birthday to your DD Broody, enjoy cake and wine, especially wine in front of SIL! Hopefully she wont be too in your face happy!

Good luck Metal, thats exciting!! and also tempting the laws of sod!

Metalhead · 26/03/2014 12:28

Eeek I just got a call from an internal recruiter about a job I applied for yesterday, I might have an interview next week!!

Seasides · 26/03/2014 10:51

Quick thank you to penguin - I think my +ve opk will arrive today (CD17) and I have been getting worried that it's so late. So it's a big relief yours was too and you've got the magic BFP! How long was your luteal phase usually?

MissHobart · 26/03/2014 10:43

Otters - I wish they would put fertility, smear tests and miscarriage in different departments. When I had my smear I was surrounded by people waiting for scans, I burst into tears when I got in to see the Dr Sad Confused

Gail - I was expecting heavy periods after my last mc but they actually got much lighter and very short Shock I've never had a period last less than five days before, the last one was two. I was just starting to worry that it meant my lining was rubbish and now a bfp, so who knows what anything means! Hmm

Metalhead · 26/03/2014 10:42

Happy birthday to your DD broody, I hope you manage to have a nice day despite the illness, lack of sleep and upfduffed SIL... make sure you eat lots of cake!

I'm sorry you had an argument with your DH Cakebaker, I think men are often a bit reluctant to talk about difficult emotional stuff (though I have to say I'm not very hood at it either). Hopefully you can kiss and make up soon.

Sorry AF got you Gail, it sounds a bit like my first AF last week actually! I also got some spotting then just one day of medium flow, followed by another two days of light bleed in the morning and then that was it. Makes sense though if you think about everything that comes out during a miscarriage...

I've got my strongest line so far on the opk today, not quite positive yet but nearly there. Which hopefully means I will have a nice short cycle this month, if I ov in the next few days! Better try and have some tith tonight, even though Wed and Thu are not the most convenient days for us.

GailLondon · 26/03/2014 10:30

Looks like i'm out. The spotting kept getting heavier and has turned into something that must be a light AF. It's a bit confusing as I was expecting some kind of uber-heavy period for this first one after MC, not some trickly light one.
Oh well, onwards and upwards! Glad to get the wtf cycle out the way, I don't think my body was ready to get pregnant yet, I was spotting on and off ever since the MC so I imagine my hormone levels were all out of whack. Thanks for the agnus castus reccomendation parsley, I'll definitely look into it.

OttersPocket · 26/03/2014 09:40

Good morning everyone.

Parsley I'm very glad that your GP has actually actioned some tests and referred you back to the clinic. I think that once you get seen by the FC that they will progress things for you, you have a good case and my experience has been that once your in the FC system, you stay there.

Speaking of fertility clinics, I'm going to start a one-woman campaign to get fertility clinics moved into a different building from the bloody fucking maternity services stuff. It was my monthly drop-off of a months worth of frozen urine samples (lovely thing to have beside the ice-cream in the freezer!), and once again I'm floored by all the happy pregnant woman roaming around and having to walk past the place I lost my baby Sad Angry It gets me every single arsing time.

And breathe.

Thanks for all the congrats on the job. I woke up in a cold sweat this morning wondering how I would cope with a pregnancy if that ever actually happens and this new job. I'm a high risk preggo lady who needs hospital appointments every two weeks and that will be so difficult to organise in this new role. But hell, I'm getting carried away thinking about all this. I think I'm just sad to be leaving my very flexible, cushy, lovely job for something more stressful with longer hours.

At least the sun is shining and I'm not wearing a coat today. In Scotland Shock
