The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

metal thank you, I'm just so bloody annoyed as I'd been feeling ok about stuff and then just when you think you're on the up the emotional rollercoaster sets off again. I just want to get off this particular ride. I know stress and desperation are not a great recipe for ttc or talking to dh so I really do need to find a way of getting through this - thankfully I have this thread to help me and I'll always be glad you're all there for fish slaps. Throwing a bucket of haddock over my own head this morning.

Metalhead · 23/04/2014 08:45

Morning all, and welcome to the newbies - I hope your stay with us will be short and sweet.

Cake I'm sorry you're feeling rubbish. I think you just have to do what feels right for you ttc-wise, not sure how to explain this to your Dh though - maybe write down what you want to say first so you don't get all flustered and emotional whilst talking? For what it's worth, I too had a meltdown when AF arrived last weekend and told DH I'm not sure how much longer I can keep trying. I think in my head I've set myself a deadline of the end of the year, if it hasn't happened by then my current thinking is to give up, but who knows...

Viper I can't help with the opks either, I'm using the ICs from Amazon and the normal CB ones that just give you a circle or smiley face and they've always shown the surge on the same day.

Nothing much to report here, AF seems to have been very short again this month so I'm wondering if this is my new normal now (not that I'd complain).

Cakebaker35 · 23/04/2014 08:33

Thanks ladies, feeling all over the place this morning. Ended up having a chat to dh last night as I was upset about my friend's news, he then said perhaps we shouldn't ttc again for a while then as I'm so emotional! Afraid I bit his head off, he was trying to say let's wait a bit until we feel better about things but it came out all wrong and my response wasn't much better Sad I do want to ttc again as I don't think waiting is going to make me feel any better and now feel I have to convince dh to. I just feel like the clock is ticking for me. Don't know what to say to him to make him understand. Or is he right and I am too emotional for this?! So confused Confused

Viperama · 23/04/2014 07:53

Thanks for feedback ladies. I had two fmu going in unison, using each once a day. I'm like the Wild West fmu gun slinger, stick em up ovaries. Now used up pink so if I am not preggo again I'll just stick to daily purple. Was just an experiment to see if they are consistent and computer says no

LittleMissSunshine33 · 23/04/2014 07:14

Viper I had an early solid smiley this month at CD8 but am now having flashing smileys on purple (for 4 days now) and I'm on CD 14 so I wonder if like I've read you're more fertile after MC otherwise my body is just now as confused as I am!
Cake hope you're feeling better today!
English it's heartbreaking when you can relate your pregnancy to another I have found out too mums at work are due when I would of been I was close to just walking away from them when they told me but I just put on my fake smile and nodded.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 23/04/2014 06:46

I think we all have days when we go from feeling positive to down right miserable. My friend sent me a pic of her 20week little boy bean yesterday and it was a crushing reminder that I would have had my 20week scan last week. But chin up and tits out etc. hope today is a better day for you cake.
Viper - not sure I can help with the OPKs. Cd6/7 is early but not unheard of. I do know that if you use cb one more than once a day they can give false readings. You supposed to use them with fmu only. They use previous days data to measure against apparently.

Cakebaker35 · 23/04/2014 00:59

Child?! Could. Sorry for terrible typing.

Cakebaker35 · 23/04/2014 00:56

Thanks viper, wish I child help on the opk front but I've steered clear of them, worried I'd get totally obsessed with them and they do seem to offer some pretty mixed info. Well done on daily dtd, impressed by your stamina!

So I've gone from feeling pretty positive and relaxed to feeling utterly gloomy again, all triggered by news of a friend being pregnant. I feel terrible as I'm so pleased for her but it's brought it home to me. Feel miserable and like a terrible friend too. Now can't sleep, grrrr. This is the worst part for me - feeling like I'm getting over stuff and moving on one minute then, crash, back down to earth. Yuck.

Viperama · 22/04/2014 23:09

Cakebaker glad to hear you've broken the DTD ice, it's all fun from here :-)

I'm still confused. Cb pink said I ovulated cd6, cb purple cd8. Both are way to bloody early, I've not had any ov pains or discharge until today which is cd11. Still no ov pains though. I ov typically 13 to 14 days before AF. But I just think the tests are crap, how can I ov so early? We've DTD cd 7, 8, 9, 10, and will keep going daily. I'm also going to use opk tests again starting tmrw morning as the smiley face has cleared at long last.

Would too early ovulation spoil my chances? Maybe the cervical lining isn't ready yet?

Cakebaker35 · 22/04/2014 20:23

ellis she sounds bloody horrible, think I'd have punched her in her tactless gob.

english great news on the opk, pee away!

jones great to hear you're feeling more positive, tits out, chin up and all that Grin

EnglishGirlAbroad · 22/04/2014 19:50

Gosh Ellis, she sounds like a bitch! Genuinely amazed at people sometime! I'd have found it really hard not to come back with some kind of sly remark!!

Glad you're feeling a little more positive jones! I'm goin to look into acupuncture when I get back to the Uk.
Gonna go pee on an OPK and hope for a stronger line! Smile

Seasides · 22/04/2014 19:33

Oh gosh Ellis, she doesn't sound a dream :-(

Sorry you've had a horrible weekend Jones Sad glad you're feeling a little better, hope that keeps up. it's so hard buying baby stuff, well done for getting through that.

Ellisisland · 22/04/2014 19:27

Seasides - no she doesn't know but I wouldn't want to share as she is the type of person who would consider it good gossip and probably be quite pleased with herself for having more children than me Sad

JonesSchool · 22/04/2014 19:12

Right time to attempt positivity!
I think this Easter has been hell and I never want an Easter like it!
I have spent most of it hiding away from the world, sobbing under the duvet.
It actually feels nice to be dressed, make up on and ready to face the world.
My best friend had a baby boy on Friday, he's gorgeous but I only managed a basic congratulations text message. Today I have ordered a present and went to the local supermarket to buy a new baby card ( and more massive sanitary pads) Must admit had a mini cry about that one in the car!
In my search for positivity I have also been to reflexology! I'm unsure yet about the benefits but after miscarriage number 2 I feel I need to do something even if doctors refuse to at the mo. On a positive note he couldn't feel anything wrong from looking at my feet and he felt I was very strong and healthy. He felt it was just a matter of time. We shall see.
I'm actually looking forward to being back at work, I need something else to do and not spend so much time on Dr Google. I will probably regret saying that this time next week.

Great news about the dark OPK line English

Seasides · 22/04/2014 16:11

Oh Ellis, how tactless of her. Does she know? Even so Hmm, hard to take. Glad you got through the rest ok.

'Hugh five on your dark opk line' card coming your way English!

Hope I can join you properly after Thursday penguin, so glad all is going well for you.

Not much doing here either, just miserably waiting til thurs morning. Long weekend was a bonus, went quite easily, but time dragging so badly now I'm back at work.

EnglishGirlAbroad · 22/04/2014 15:16

Hi ladies!
Glad you finally got back in the saddle Cake Smile

Hello all newbies, really hope you're not with us long. But the ladies here are great for offering a dose of haddock when needed or a kind word too.

Penguin, glad all is going well. Keep popping back!

I've finally got a near 'dark as control' OPK!! Cd19! So fx this is it!! Please! Please! Please!
Who'd have though I'd ever be getting this excited about a positive OPK!

Ellisisland · 22/04/2014 14:59

Thanks for the good wishes around all the baby showers I had to attend. Got through them except for my sister in law one when she was telling me how easy she finds it to get pregnant and she doesn't understand why people find it so difficult. That sent me crying to th toilets but other that that I was fine.

Sorry to all the newbies that are here Sad my AF has finished so time to get the sticks out again. Think my plan this month is to DTD every day over my usual fertile days and hope that it works! Good luck to everyone for this month

Penguin13 · 22/04/2014 13:49

Just popping in to say hello and see how you're all getting on. I'm really missing you lot and the way you all made me laugh on a daily basis. Not much to report from me apart from a stinking cold grumble grumble The bean appears to be staying put for now and I'm just counting the days till my 9 week scan next Thurs. There are a few thread grads from here on my ante-natal thread - hopefully more of you will join us very soon.

Cakebaker35 · 22/04/2014 13:36

Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here, may your stays be short and sweet.

office brilliant, sounds like the ideal afternoon to me

Soooo we've finally managed to tith after having the erpc just over a month go, was all quite emotional actually but glad to be back in the saddle so to speak! I don't think it could be considered ttc as I was only on cd6 but just relieved and immediately felt like we were getting on better after, I think both of us had been overthinking things and just needed to follow the advice on here which was wine is your friend and go for it, so thank you ladies Smile

bythesea I'm with you and very very much trying to take the relaxed approach but it's so hard when you know exactly which cd you are, I wish I could go back to the innocent days pre mmc but hey it's not to be. Anyway this month is definitely a non opk/planning/stressing month, I'm determined! And then I'll probably be bonkers and back to all that next month Blush

Littlelady33 · 22/04/2014 10:50

Welcome newbie sorry you find yourself here but hope you find the support you need. English sorry to hear that the OPKs are failing to produce results. I think you're doing right to just carry on trying though. My OH isn't convinced that either ics or the more expensive kind for that matter are a good call so have agreed to lay off them completely. He'd rather the every other day approach - despite that running from cd 7 to cd 21. At least he says that for now....

bythesea82 · 22/04/2014 09:59

Still chuckling officelady if you decide to make your life into a new soap, keep us informed!!
I was sad to see a few faces from the October thread on here, our time will come soon!
Good luck to all this week Smile

newbiefrugalgal · 22/04/2014 01:57

Can I join.
Ttc starts this month. Early mc in late January , which was unmanaged but hoping all ok.
I have had fairly normal af since but oh has been away so it gave the body some time to recover. (Hopefully)
I have a big trip planned for next year so if I'm lucky to conceive then it has to happen in next few months or otherwise we have to have a break. Baby would need to be born or I have to be less than 24 weeks.
And I'm getting close to 40 so time is not on my side
I am lucky I have two great dc but I would really love number three.
No previous mc

bessie84 · 21/04/2014 18:15

bythesea sorry your here, big hugs, so sorry for your losses. blooming heck! i bet that was a shock!! Good luck with ttc a sticky bean x

bessie84 · 21/04/2014 18:13

pmsl at you officelady [:D]

officelady · 21/04/2014 18:09

Yeeeesss..... good luck with the nonchalant attitude bythesea! I think I recognise your name from the October thread - sorry that you have found yourself here but it's a great place to hide away and chat about all the shit that has been heaped upon us Smile Bad luck at the 1 ovary - I take it you had no idea? I guess at least you know the one you have does work [small consolation icon]
I have been down the pub this afternoon, it was supposed to be a dog walk to the beach but somehow ended up in a beer garden what a shame - then it started raining so I texted dd to come and pick me up in the car. One of the bonuses of being really old and having a 17 year old child! Maybe I should just get her to have a baby, I could pretend it was mine and raise it as my own, like they do on the telly Wink
